Ryan Phillippe keeps his arm wrapped around his leading lady, Abbie Cornish, at the Australians In Film 2008 “Breakthrough Awards” at the Avalon Hotel on Thursday in Los Angeles.
Phillippe came out to show his support as Stop-Loss director Kimberly Peirce presented Abbie with a boomerang statue of the 2008 Breakthrough Award. Both Ryan, 33, and Abbie, 25, starred in Stop-Loss, which came out earlier this year.
Abbie has been under much scrutiny in recent times, having been the rumored driving force behind Ryan and Reese Witherspoon’s much-publicized divorce.
UPDATE: Ryan rubbed Abbie’s back while she leaned against his shoulder. Throughout the evening, they even held hands. “They were adorable,” a guest at the ceremony told People. “He had his arm around her and they were cozy and comfortable.”

I think Ryan an Abbie are both very talented and attractive. THey deserve to be happy. Reese and Ryan had huge relationship problems and got married way too young and tried to stay together for their kids.

I just got tired of all of his post-divorce interviews, where he’s trying to save face. No, I’m not gonna answer if I cheated with AC but hey, even if I did, it’s not what caused our marriage to end…yada yada yada.
I especially enjoyed the interview that he gave, posing shirtless, where he says he just wants to be remembered for his acting and doesn’t want to be labeled a “sex symbol.”

i love this guy,not only he’s a talented actor and a great father he’s a nice guy too and it’s about time for him to have someone in his life and move on, and they both look so sweet & make a gorgeous couple together. have you guys heard his ex is getting married to jake, she really moves fast doesn’t she.
Children should be the number one priority in parents’ lives, but look at reese how fast she moved in with jake and i don’t think that’s a good move, when it comes to the kids, she could have seen jake without exposing the kids to jake or another man day in and day out 24 / 7 by living with the guy.
Reese is getting married to Jake? That’s news to me. And so what if the kids see Jake. He’s obviously an important part of her life, her kids should get to know him too. Lets not forget that Abbie hangs out with the kids too. Funny you don’t mention of that.
I agree with a previous poster about his Stop Loss interviews. They were horrid. In every other interview it was about how horrible his life is. The paparazzi stalk him, tabloids lie, Abbie is not a homewrecker, the divorce made him want to kill himself, etc. And he babbled on about Reese and why the marriage failed and then says he doesn’t want to be defined by his relationship with her. Stop talking about her then.
And lastly he had the gall to say seeing Reese with Jake is bizarre. Right, like Reese seeing him with Abbie is easy.
I think it’s fine that they’ve moved on. Now they can stop lying badly about not being together and just be together.
And lastly, why does this man have a career? He’s an awful actor.

I think both Reese and Abbie are beautiful despite what people say. But when Reese moved on she got bashed (at least on some articles I read)so why can’t Ryan? I’m just stating facts people. Especially since Abbie was ( made out to be) the cause of the divorce. I for one would not encourage this relationship but if they are happy then you won’t hear any arguments from me.
