Selena Gomez: No Sex Before Marriage!
Selena Gomez, star of the Disney Channel’s Wizards of Waverly Place, plans to practice abstinence until marriage, reports Extra.
The 15-year-old tween sensation, who’s on the fast track to becoming the new Miley Cyrus, has declared she won’t be having sex until marriage.
Selena declared, “I said, ‘Dad, I want a promise ring.’ He went to the church and got it blessed. He actually used me as an example for other kids. I’m going to keep my promise to myself, to my family and to God.”
All of the Jonas Brothers practice abstinence and wear purity rings.

I’m honestly ashamed at most of the people on here. Selena made an unbelievably amazing promise to both herslef and god by wearing that ring. It is also a very brave thing to do considering how much critcism she’s getting for it. Why do you have to be so judgemental? If she wants to remain pure and honestly believes she can follow through with her promise (wheter she does or not) I think she should be very proud of herself just for doing so. And I’m also very proud of her! I don’t understand why people seem to overlook the fact that just because somebody is in the public eye they are also a HUMAN BEIN
They make mistakes they have different beliefs and not one human bein is exactly the same as another! Let Selena live her life believing in what she feels is right and you all can do the same

i dont see the problem in having sex before marriage.. btw, having sex doesnt mean ur not responsible.. if teens dont go to their doctor and get the pill or information about safe protection and then get pregagnet .. well thats just stupid.. but not all teens are like that.. i think the parents should talk about this with their kids early enough and make sure they are safe!
I have a purity ring too. I’m happy celebs are getting them, it shows that people actually have respect for their OWN body. Good job, Selena! Keep it up! Lol, I’m 15 too, it’s a good time to start.
I think it’s great that she’s doing this, because it makes that much better of a role model. I mean, just because she is a Disney starlet doesn’t mean that she’s lying and has already lost it or will in the next few years. Give the girl a break for doing something she believes in.

i think it’s a good idea, but most celebs that do this don’t keep it. I Mean, what if she gets drunk? Thats what happens to most normal people.

I do like Selena, but i think she’s really trying to be Miley and she’s trying to get in with the Jonas Brothers and she’s just copying but i suppose it’s her choice and whatever’s done is done.

I think that it is a great thing to promis to yourself. Yet if she does decied that later down the track that she is ready for sex and to take that next step that also is ok. i dont think that anyone should be scrutinised over making their own decisions. We have no idea how they feel or if they are truly ready. As long as it is not broadcast all over the joint

I honestly am proud of Selena! If she promises to God that she won’t have sex until she is married, that means she is catholic/christian. I’m catholic, too Selena!
