OlderGwen Stefani Ups the Maxi
Expectant yummy mummy Gwen Stefani throws on a mesmerizing maxi dress as she drops off son Kingston, 2, at her parents’ house in Orange Country, Calif. on Saturday.
Her parents babysat Kingston for a little bit while Gwen attended a party in Bel Air. Kingston sucked on his pacifier while being pushed around in a stroller by his grandfather, Dennis Stefani.
Gwen’s husband, Gavin Rossdale, recently explained to MTV why he won’t do a duet with his wife and wants to to avoid combining their professional and personal lives. He said, “It’s bad enough with the whole intrusive, paparazzi-celebrity-weird-photo life. I like mystery. The people I care the most about, whether it’s in music or films or art or whatever, I don’t really need to know anything about them. The less I know about them, the better, because then I can just have my own unfiltered image of them, and whatever they do publically, for me, can just work its magic. When we get burdened by people at Starbucks, it just takes away from that mystery.”

Besides, a 2 year old is way too old to being still using a pacifier in the first place.

Gwen and Gavin are lucky they dont have dozens of paps in their or their kid’s faces, they always seem to be photographed from a distance. they should be grateful for that.

Lots of 2 year olds are in strollers, no big deal. My younger son had a pacifier until he was just over two and then he abandoned it himself. I took my older son’s away from him at two and then he sucked on two fingers with a blanket held up to his face for the next four years. So I’d say the pacifier might be okay for a little while yet.
The child is way too old to have a pacifier. Pacifiers are for infants.

Anyway, I’m pretty sure children suck their thumbs til 4 most of the time and I don’t see the difference between allowing a baby who has JUST turned to suck on his pacifier or suck on his thumb. I GUESS IT WOULD APPEASE THE HATERS IF IT WAS HIS THUMB AND THEIR BLACK HEARTS JUST MIGHT BE SOFTENED AT THE SIGHT

Really, you guys harping on about a 2-year still sucking on a pacifier, there is no such thing as the perfect age to stop. It depends on the child and their individual circumstances, so give it a rest. Gwen - for someone on their 7th or 8th month on, looks pretty amazing. Even glamorous!

While pacifier use can get a child’s mind off of teething pain, it’s not beneficial to the process of teething itself. The act of sucking is very soothing for an infant, and it increases saliva production, which serves as a natural antiseptic that is good for oral hygiene. Despite these supposed benefits, extended pacifier use can, more likely than not, cause dental problems. The extra pressure exerted during sucking can cause dental malalignment (known as an overbite). Overbites are more common with thumbsucking than with pacifier use, but the risk is still there. And it is true that the longer you let her use it, the harder it will be to wean her off of it later.
I don’t see the problem with the dummy (or pacifier as the Americans say) I mean yeah he should probably be being weaned off it by now but face it if he mucks up his teeth in the future he can/will just pay to get them sorted out, like all Hollywood/famous people & spawn of famous people.
