Honor Warren: Jessica Alba’s Baby Daughter!
As reported yesterday, Jessica Alba gave birth to a healthy baby girl this past weekend at Cedars-Sinai Medical Center in Los Angeles.
People reports that Honor Marie Warren was born on Saturday.
“I don’t want to be my child’s best friend. I want to be a mom,” Alba recently told Fit Pregnancy. “But I do want my child to come to me when they have problems and need to talk, so it’s going to be about treading that line.”

I don’t think it’s a weird name, there used to a be a starlet in the 60s named Honor Blackman, if I remember correctly she was Pu*ssy Galore in Goldfinger, a James Bond movie with Sean Connery as 007.

Blackman was seriously beautiful in the cool, blonde Grace Kelly style and a good actress.

Honor? Seriously, any name that can be used as a verb is NOT a good choice. It just sounds really arrogant to me. But then again Jessica Alba isn’t the most humble of people, so it’s no big surprise.
It would have been better if it was Marie Honor.
And the people who always claim “it’s just a kid” or “are you their parent?” crack me up. This baby is going to grow up and realize her parents gave her a ridiculous name, there’s no way around it.
It’s a very old-fashioned name that goes back to the 18th century or even before. It’s not a name I’d give my kid, but hey, they’re the parents. If the child doesn’t like it, she can always change it when she’s bigger. And it’s no worse than naming your kid Apple, and a hell of a lot better than Moon Unit or Dweezil.
I don’t understand why people are so negative about the baby’s name, it’s THEIR choice, not ours!

I really don’t get the negativity regarding the name Honor. As groundcontrol and I pointed out, there was already a precedence with the actress Honor Blackman, one of the very first Bond girls. And Honor Blackman had the name at a time when they used to rename movie stars like Norma Jean Baker to Marilyn Monroe and Marion Morrison to John Wayne.

Honor Blackman is an actor with many fine performances on stage and on film. She was the very poplular original female lead on the Avengers - which Diana Rigg later took over after Honor left the series. She also is a strong supporter of replacing the monarchy with a republic. Despite that a number of years back she was offered a Queens honor and she refused it on principle.
The fact that you would dismiss an accomplished and talented woman because during one month of her life she wisely sought mental health assistance in the 1950s says a lot about you.
Honor was never known as a “mess” and she is indeed a great role model for women.

My name is Honor. It is actually a very traditional name in the UK. I am the 4th in a line of Honors (Aunt, Grandmother etc…) and while it can kind of be a pain to have to explain my name all the time, I actually appreciate it now.

There are some decidedly rude and uncalled for remarks on this website. The name Honor, whilst not one I would choose for my child is a tradtional English name and I don’t see any arrogance in it.
You’ll note that the correct ‘English spelling’ of Honour, contains the letter U, and therefore despite the American version being spelt the same as the name, it doesn’t make the name arrogant.

While we may say “oh how adorable- Honor” let’s be realistic- our birth names can affect our careers in later life. Celebrities get off on naming their children the most unique names, but who will take them seriously in a true working environment as adults? Honor is maybe a tad lucky she’s a girl- men seem to suffer much more for their birth names in the business world. While I love the name Maddox for example, do you think grown men will take him seriously in a competitive business environment? For sons especially, I cringe when I hear parents name them something ultra-feminine. It sets them up for years of torture from fellow schoolmates and eventual adult life. I can’t describe how many times I’ve heard people giggle at a name like Prescott for a boy. Why don’t parents think in advance how these names will be received by others? These kids better hope they follow their parents footsteps and enter the film, music, art world. At least there, diversity is welcome.

My name is Honor! It’s an old, pilgrim name, not a trendy weird name. It’s like Constance, Prudence, Faith, Hope, etc. just not as common.

My name is Honor and I haven’t always liked it either, however no-one could ever come up with any cruel names, so I never got teased as a kid.
As I got older I’ve had a great time because it’s always a great conversation opener and people always ask where it’s from.
Honor is a very old-fashioned name from the middle ages in France. It was actually a very popular name in America in the Victorian era too. Naturally people today will find it strange, but it’s coming back into fashion, so I say good on you Jessica.
