OlderAngelina Jolie: Brad Pitt is Hard to Shop For!
Angelina Jolie gave a refreshingly candid interview to Entertainment Weekly while checking out a window display of Corum watches at the Grand-Hôtel du Cap-Ferrat in the south of France.
On her partner not being easy to buy things for: “Brad is the hardest person to shop for. ‘He has impeccable design taste. And whenever he sees something he likes, he buys it for himself.”
On Brad’s most recent gift to her (a gun-charm necklace she wore to her EW photo shoot): ”Mad, our 6-year-old, draws lots of war scenarios. He’s all into war and guns. So for Mother’s Day he drew a machine gun, and Brad had it made into a necklace, which is really sweet. It’s really cute. I think it’s really good!”
On some people who can’t reconcile her old persona, where she talked about knives and cutting, with her more recent identity as a mother and activist: “But again, it’s not that different. The reason I talked about going through certain pains or even cutting myself is that I was already out the other side. I knew there were people that do that — and somehow are happy that somebody admitted they did and discussed how they got out of it. I don’t see the point of doing an interview unless you’re going to share the things you learn in life and the mistakes you make. So to admit that I’m extremely human and have done some dark things, I don’t think makes me unusual or unusually dark. I think it actually is the right thing to do and I’d like to think it’s the nice thing to do.”
On anything she’s said that she wishes she hadn’t (like all that business about wearing the vial of Billy Bob Thornton’s blood around your neck when you two were married): “No! It was never a vial anyway. It was like a flower press. It was like from a slight cut on your finger and you press your fingerprint in. It was kind of a sweet gesture. I thought it was kind of romantic! I still love him dearly and think the world of him and I’m proud to have been his wife for a time. I don’t believe in regrets. It’s a dangerous habit to get into — it makes you pause in your life if you start thinking back and questioning yourself.”
On people saying being pregnant is bad for one’s sex life: “No, I think it’s quite the opposite. It’s great for the sex life. It just makes you a lot more creative. So you have fun, and as a woman you’re just so round and full.”
On Brad’s new tattoo: “I drew that. We went to Davos. It’s not that we were bored at the World Economic Forum, but one night we didn’t have anything to do, so I was drawing on his back.”

Let me correct you once more:
1- She doesn’t says “she had four men”. She said in 2002 or 3 that she had 4 men and a women. It not Angelina’s fault that the tabloids and the media keep getting old quotes of her and presenting them as new.
2- It wasn’t a vial. If you have a little time see an interview Angelina gave Larry King in 2002 where she shows him the necklace and see what Larry says about it.

Angie always gives a good interview. It’s why even trolls can’t wait to read anything she says (even if it’s only to bash her for them). It’s why journalists get very upset when they are not allowed to question her. They know that she always gives as good as she gets. She’s brutally honest and she’s adorable when she talks about her loved ones.
She’s the favorite get of all interviewers and they know people will read any article about her. Love the video interviews the best cause she looks so beautiful when animated and her voice is so sexy (and without even trying!).
Wish she’d do more personal appearances on TV talk shows.

Angelina Jolie: Being Pregnant with Twins Was a ‘Shock’

Angelina Jolie has talked candidly about her desire to continue expanding her family with Brad Pitt. But when the actress found out she was pregnant with twins, well, even she was taken aback.
“We weren’t expecting twins,” Jolie, 33, tells Entertainment Weekly in a new interview. “So it did shock us, and we jumped to six [children] quickly. But we like a challenge.”
With a house full of kids, Jolie says she needs help - so it’s a good thing there’s family around to pitch in. “[Brad's] mom and dad are on standby to come out and help,” she says.
But the real focus, Jolie says, is making sure their other children - Maddox, 6, Pax, 4, Zahara, 3, and Shiloh, 2 - feel included when their new siblings are born. Says the actress: “They’re old enough to feel included to change diapers themselves, to feed bottles themselves, like if I pump into a bottle. We’re trying to find ways where it can be a fun group thing … Everybody gets special time so we can make sure we know where they’re at.”
As for how she’s handling being pregnant with twins, the actress tells EW she’s taking it easy and letting Pitt handle all the heavy lifting - literally. “We’ve worked out a system where Brad just lifts [the kids] to me every time they want to come up,” she says. “I just don’t bend down. I’ll scream, ‘Honey!’ and he’ll come running and lift them up.”
And pregnancy has other benefits as well. “It’s great for the sex life,” she says. “It just makes you a lot more creative. So you have fun, and as a woman you’re just so round and full.”

The whole interview was so open…you can feel her peace and contentment throughout the whole thing. :-)
It really brings home how down to earth she and Brad are. There is so much about the interview that hit on exactly the discussions and arguments that fans and haters have. I think Angie is really in touch with how she is perceived and how people feel about her and she appreciates it all, she repects the individual enough to let them have their own opinion whether it favors her or not.
She is truly a unique individual.

Wow, what a great interview, she is always so outspoken, each time we get to see a new face of her. And I know there will be a lot of comments about Mad drawing guns. He’s six years old, at that age a lot of boys are fascinated by guns, it’s still innocent play and doesn’t have anything to do with wanting to hurt anybody, it’s more the action and sound, playing a war scene fascinates most boys of that age. As long as you don’t idolize the guns or vehemently oppose them (so they become even more fascinating to some), but tell them what a gun is used for, teach them compassion and good values, and to distinguish between a game and a real life situation, it is fine, he’ll grow out of it.

I’ve just read in an other excerpt from that interview that it was a shock for her and Brad to be expecting twins, so that really should stop the whole rumor mill of her having used fertility treatments. Not that I thought she did anyway, because she filmed Wanted until September or August, and the shooting of an action film would be way too demanding on a pregnant woman, so she could only try to get pregnant afterwards.

Nice interview. What I like about Ms. Jolie is that she is honest. Her haters will disagree, but she has always been up front about things she has done in the past. She has been consistent with what she has said in the past. Why anyone is still harping on whether it was a vial of blood or not I don’t understand. The past is the past. She has addressed it again and again, with class I must say. People harp on her cutting herself in the past. Do some reading sometimes people, besides tabloids that is. You will understand WHY people cut themselves, she was by no means alone in that. You don’t want to understand, you just want to find fault. She has found what makes her complete, happy; her calling. She has found a man who shares her goals in life and philosophy of life. She and Brad appear to have what some never find in a lifetime. Angelina is a thoughtful, generous, articulate woman. No, I don’t personally know her, but I do know about what she had done for others, that’s no secret. Her most endearing quality is the love she has for her family; her consideration of ALL her children’s feelings and how they fit within the family unit. It was a great article.

I used to work in childcare where toy guns are banned. I used to agree with this policy, but boys will be boys and if you take toy guns off them they will find another way to continue the play (using their hands and other objects as petend guns).

Pople yelling about guns are 2 types, (1) bitter faux X worshipers, and (2) people who do not approve of guns.
2nd type I can understand. Some people are opposed to guns on principle and that is their right. Especially people outside the US. But think UN peacekeeper troops carry weapons, they don’t run around with just body armor and no weapons to keep and enforce peace. Brad grew up in rural MO and probably had guns in the home, and Angie’s home most likely did also. Many people in the US have guns in their homes. Little boys of Maddox’s age play GI Joe and guns are very much a part of that. And the Iraq war and gun crimes are on US television all the time and kids pick up on that. While it would be wonderful to have a world free of the need of guns that is not realistic at this tiime. I am a strong proponent of gun laws, restrictions on gun ownership that are real and workable, but the truth is that in the US and many other parts of the world guns are plentiful.
1st type, STFU. If you were really X fans you would be somewhere discussing her like Brad and Angie fans do here. You are not her fans, you are worthless liars and psychos and whiners who live such miserable lives of your own making that you can’t stand seeing a happy family. The reason people are so sensitive about people letting their children play war, is because we have a war going on right now in Iraq, a war the US started. We have lost thous of our own young people and bodies are stacking up every week. Tens of thous of Iraqi civilians have been slaughtered. This is why parents talking of their children playing war pisses many of us off.

What the heck is it to you what she teaches her children? It’s not as if she’s strapping a gun to them and taking them to the war zone. Didn’t you read the other interview where she points out the bad guys against the good guys to her kids in movies? Guns aren’t just used to kill, it is also used to defend and protect. Most wars have ended in peace and it has been known to lead to freedom for the oppressed.

I really like the interview and Angie. As for guns, my dtr n law tried to keep my grandson from playing with guns to no avail. He would make any imaginery thing into a gun. She finally gave up. My girlfriend’s son has loved guns and toy soldiers all his life. He is now an officer in the army. Another friend’s son loves to read and study about wars, weapons and enjoy reading and seeing movies about different wars ,he is now 19 and is now in the corp at Texas A&M. There is nothing wrong with Mad being interested in guns as long as Angie and Brad explain the good and bad about them.
As for Angie I like her because she is different and makes no excuses for being herself. As for who is a better actress, Angie has more deft and is really a better actress. Jen is the minivan, feel good type of actress that appear in the type of movies “the girls” like to go to. The people who really like a good story like Angie’s movies. I like how she picks her movies depending on how she is feeling in her life or what she needs in her life at that time. “Wanted” for she needed to get out of her sadness with all the changes in her life “loss of mother, child birth, etc.” The physical got her out of that state. AMH, to tell the story of what happen in her friend’s life, Marianne’s strength and gave us a chance to see Afganistan. AMH and The Kite Runner increased my interest in that part of the world which is so different then ours. “The Challenging” probably a dedication to her mom.

Golf star Tiger Woods retained the No. 2 spot on the list, raking in $115 million on and off the course, while actress Angelina Jolie soared to the third spot, combining $14 million in earnings with unrivaled levels of fame.
Joining Jolie in the top 10 is boyfriend Brad Pitt, with whom she is expecting twins. Pitt banked $20 million in the past 12 months and was often spotted on the covers of magazines with Jolie as the two traveled the world promoting movies and working for various charities.
Another power couple in the top 10: pop star Beyonce Knowles (No. 4) and hip-hop mogul Jay-Z (No. 7). Beyonce had a monster year, pulling in $80 million between a highly successful concert tour, private shows, a fashion line, endorsement deals and film work. Jay-Z left Def Jam Records to sign a $150 million deal with concert promoter Live Nation. The deal provides the rapper and entrepreneur with money for recording, tours and other entertainment endeavors for the next decade.
Hip-hop impresario 50 Cent was the third-highest earner on the list (he ranked 26th overall), taking in $150 million before taxes. Last summer Coca-Cola paid $4.1 billion for Glaceau, the beverage company that owns Vitamin Water. The self-admitted former drug dealer owned a small stake in the company.
The highest-ranked actor on the list is Johnny Depp, in sixth place. Depp made $72 million last year, much of it earned on the “back end” of Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Man’s Chest, which grossed more than $950 million worldwide. Will Smith, ranked 11th, is the highest paid actor in Hollywood, bringing home $80 million, including an estimated $20 million for his role in the upcoming anti-superhero flick “Hancock.”
This year 27 newcomers make the list. Among them: rock band the Police, who sold $200 million worth of tickets and played to 4 million fans during a massive international tour. “Daily Show” host Jon Stewart, “The Office’s” Steve Carell, and reality-TV personality Lauren Conrad are also notable new members.

The reason people are so sensitive about people letting their children play war, is because we have a war going on right now in Iraq, a war the US started. We have lost thous of our own young people and bodies are stacking up every week. Tens of thous of Iraqi civilians have been slaughtered. This is why parents talking of their children playing war pisses many of us off.

Hi everyone,
I love the interview, more importantly, I love how Angie and Brad continue to prove that no one really knows what is going on with them. Remember when so many people assumed Brad had a map of the levees in New Orleans tattooed on his back when in fact, it is a drawing by Angie. Got to love how they keep proving the tabs wrong.
Premiers are nice, but it will not be the same without Angie’s presence. What will sell “Wanted” will be the trailers on t.v. They need to do a media splash with the trailers on tv and have John and Morgan do some of the talk shows. The trailers are the really catcher.
I for one will be there. The movie “He’s Not all that Into You” I will not pay to go and see that movie, it seems like one of those movies like “27 dresses”, “P.S. Love you”, “Best Man” those girls nite out movie that will be out for a few weeks then gone. It will not be a #1 box office draw for the men and teenagers(esepcially boys) will not be interested in it. It seems to be one of those movies you wait until it comes out on dvd or hits the dollar cinema.
Guns aren’t just used to kill, it is also used to defend and protect. Most wars have ended in peace and it has been known to lead to freedom for the oppressed.
You can’t shield your kids and have them grow up ignorant and oblivious. What do you do if your kid gets curious? Do you just shut him up and put blinders on him?

#189: Andy, I think the photographer wanted extreme closeups to show if Angie is as good as she looks and compared to long shots of her. You can almost see the distention of the lines, like she’s looking really close into the curved lens of the camera. It’s not focused right and it might be intentional.
Whatever the photographer’s motives are, Angie is still beautiful from whatever angle. Other actresses might complain but I don’t think Angie is one of them.

I’ll throw my 2 cents into the gun comments. I will side with Angelina on this one. In this case, boys will be boys and playing with toy guns or drawing them does not mean anything is wrong. We all grew up playing “Cops and Robbers” or “Cowboys and Indians” and MOST of us grew up normal.
I like how Angelina was so frank about her past transgressions and doesn’t feel the need to rationalize them away, but instead accepts her mistakes, learns from them and walks proudly into the future. Way to go.

Amazing kickazz interview ! Loved it as i have alway thought Angie is a phenomenal women with a capital P completely loving her honesty in this anything goes chat.. According to James McEvoy’s blog, he confirms the news. But speculation as to why is still a mystery. They still have premieres in the US. Are they gonna cancel those too? Jen does not have a chance. Angie I believe brings that excitement and mystery to Brad. That is probably why he fell for her hard. She offered so much more to life then what he had before. Such a much more. Going out to dinner every other nite, dining with the same friends (mostly Jen’s friends), vacationing mainly in Mexico and working and being apart from one another. Sure his relationship with Jen was getting boring. Don’t think life with Angie is ever really boring although she said that “their life is quite boring”. I’m going to go out on a limb here and probably have lots of people upset but I happen to like Angelina’s looks better when she is pregnant or at least with a bit more weight on her. At other times she looks too thin.

To address the gun comment, I think people need to move on. My son never had a toy gun and he played shoot ‘em up games anyway. It is in their genes! My son used to eat his pizza slice in the shape of a gun and made guns out of Legos. They do grow out of it. Don’t make so much out of every comment you read or hear. She is not a hypocrite if she loves her gun charm necklace and yet is an advocate for peace. She is a mom who loves her son’s artwork!

I think everyone has a right to have a past. What you are in your 20’s is not who you will be when you “grow up”. We all evolve, change, and mature. Well, at least most of us do. AJ seems to have left her self-destructive idiosyncrasies in her past so why don’t we do the same? She never hurt anyone or committed any crime. Yes, she did some eccentric things but what has she done so horrible lately? Nothing. Let her alone. The interview seemed honest and real.
Hens are funny. They are adding to the mystic of AJ. Either you llike her or envy her. Either you admire her or try to misunderstand every word she says. Either you call her names or you respect the person she is. Yet hens took the time to read her interview and post. I’m terrible at reading scripts. I love to read and I hate reading scripts. Brad reads a lot because he’s also producing. We’re always joking about the fact that I just hate it. I have no patience. I can’t watch movies either. What usually will happen is I’ll talk to Geyer about what stage I’m at in my life and what type of a woman or story I’m looking to tell. Like with Wanted, I call and say, ”I really feel like I have to do something that’s physical right now.” Right now I don’t want to work at all. I want to stay home, so the few things we’ve talked about are the amazing, once-in-your-lifetime things, like Atlas Shrugged. But other than that, I’m not looking.

There is no one like Angie. So the haters can’t fit her precisely in any category - so they get angry. Angie is a very versatile actress. She can play tough women and vunerable women. Or women who are both tough and vunerable. But in her real life, she is a warm, caring, kind, big-hearted woman with a lot of charisma. So the haters confuse her movie roles with the real woman.
As for guns, in America most people have guns. It is no big deal and does not mean she cannot be a kind and warm human being. She is a humanitarian, but she knows they must also be secure. That is reality. Angie talks about it, that’s all. She is candid.
Most little boys will play miliary type games. Brad put one of Maddox’s drawings on a necklace for Angie - what does that mean other than it is a sentimental gift from Brad to Angie, reflecting something their son drew.
Haters need to step back and relax. Angie is always open and honest. She has a big heart and she is a versatile actress and she has great charisma. Stop complainig
Angie is so young but has done so much. She won most major acting awards before she turned 25. She starred in two action movies before she turned 28. She has been more involved in humanitarian missions with UNHCR than probably any other celebrity. She is a mother, humanitarian, actress and people like being around her. She is a true icon. The only thing that’s hard for me now is with twins and having four kids, there’s a lot of the doctor saying ”Stop picking them up as much.” But we’ve worked out a system where Brad just lifts them to me every time they want to come up. I just don’t bend down. I’ll scream, ”Honey!” and he’ll come running and lift them up. Or they climb on chairs, so it’s not as big of a lift. So we’re trying to follow doctor’s orders, but I’m bending them a tiny bit.
(Can you imagine her saying “Honey”???)
About being pregnant and having sex:
No, I think it’s quite the opposite. It’s great for the sex life. It just makes you a lot more creative. So you have fun, and as a woman you’re just so round and full.
About her in-laws:

The only thing for us when a new child comes home is just balancing the others. Our real focus now is: How do we make sure that the babies’ coming is not upsetting to other kids and makes them feel included. They’re old enough to feel included to change diapers themselves, to feed bottles themselves, like if I pump into a bottle. We’re trying to find ways where it can be a fun group thing. But the hard thing is every single day trying to find time for each of them privately. ‘Cause that’s our big thing. With our eldest, we have that last half an hour at night; Shiloh tends to be the first up in the morning. Everybody gets special time so we can make sure we know where they’re at.
About titles:
We have that problem all the time. I say ”partner” sometimes. ”Father of my children” is too long. But half the time people refer to us as, ”So, your wife this, your husband that.” We’ve stopped correcting everybody. It’s not a big intentional thing not to marry. We immediately were a family when we became a couple, and children were the priority, and we’re both legally committed to the children. And that seemed to be the right thing.

I drew that. We went to Davos. It’s not that we were bored at the World Economic Forum, but one night we didn’t have anything to do, so I was drawing on his back. But I was just sketchingâ�¦on him, yeah. He just liked it! The picture everybody saw was kind of awkward, but it just lines up beautifully on his back, just enhances the part of the body I like. I mean, it’s meaningful in that it’s us making angles and shapes out of each other’s body, that kind of a thing.
