OlderAngelina Jolie: Brad Pitt is Hard to Shop For!
Angelina Jolie gave a refreshingly candid interview to Entertainment Weekly while checking out a window display of Corum watches at the Grand-Hôtel du Cap-Ferrat in the south of France.
On her partner not being easy to buy things for: “Brad is the hardest person to shop for. ‘He has impeccable design taste. And whenever he sees something he likes, he buys it for himself.”
On Brad’s most recent gift to her (a gun-charm necklace she wore to her EW photo shoot): ”Mad, our 6-year-old, draws lots of war scenarios. He’s all into war and guns. So for Mother’s Day he drew a machine gun, and Brad had it made into a necklace, which is really sweet. It’s really cute. I think it’s really good!”
On some people who can’t reconcile her old persona, where she talked about knives and cutting, with her more recent identity as a mother and activist: “But again, it’s not that different. The reason I talked about going through certain pains or even cutting myself is that I was already out the other side. I knew there were people that do that — and somehow are happy that somebody admitted they did and discussed how they got out of it. I don’t see the point of doing an interview unless you’re going to share the things you learn in life and the mistakes you make. So to admit that I’m extremely human and have done some dark things, I don’t think makes me unusual or unusually dark. I think it actually is the right thing to do and I’d like to think it’s the nice thing to do.”
On anything she’s said that she wishes she hadn’t (like all that business about wearing the vial of Billy Bob Thornton’s blood around your neck when you two were married): “No! It was never a vial anyway. It was like a flower press. It was like from a slight cut on your finger and you press your fingerprint in. It was kind of a sweet gesture. I thought it was kind of romantic! I still love him dearly and think the world of him and I’m proud to have been his wife for a time. I don’t believe in regrets. It’s a dangerous habit to get into — it makes you pause in your life if you start thinking back and questioning yourself.”
On people saying being pregnant is bad for one’s sex life: “No, I think it’s quite the opposite. It’s great for the sex life. It just makes you a lot more creative. So you have fun, and as a woman you’re just so round and full.”
On Brad’s new tattoo: “I drew that. We went to Davos. It’s not that we were bored at the World Economic Forum, but one night we didn’t have anything to do, so I was drawing on his back.”

I’ve just read in an other excerpt from that interview that it was a shock for her and Brad to be expecting twins, so that really should stop the whole rumor mill of her having used fertility treatments. Not that I thought she did anyway, because she filmed Wanted until September or August, and the shooting of an action film would be way too demanding on a pregnant woman, so she could only try to get pregnant afterwards.

what’s a big deal about mad likes war and gun. he is a young boy. my nephew loves swords and guns when he was young. he loves GI Joe. would you people prefer angie to say mad likes barbie and play with make-up instead.
At first I though this was just going to be another interview with boring questions we already know the answers to, but as it went on I really enjoyed it. I don’t mind if the haters want to find faults with her. I think she is an amazing woman. Its so beautiful that she’s direct and open. She’s still the wild sexy woman we love. That may be a little confusing to the haters because she doesn’t have a publicist pimping one side of her personality. She is a real and complicated woman. Love her!

Yes, as children, all of us have played with water guns, and if you are an actress and you have to use a gun in a movie, you have to. But I think she and her son love too much this world… Which is weird, but it’s even weirder when you are so involved in refugees… For me is just hypocrite.
And about Brad’s tattoo… they were bored so she drew something in his back? How much sad it’s to see a 44 year old man being so pathetic (about a woman)…

I am confused! What does being interested in wars and guns have to do with humanitarian work My husband has been interested in wars since he was Maddox`s age. He can tell you the name of every general in every war. He can tell you how old they were when they served and how old they were when they died. He can tell you the year of every war and how long it lasted. He can give you details that you would have to google for hours to find.
Why are fanistons so against learning. Angie has grown up. You have not. That is why you refuse to see any good in her. I am sure you have done things in your life which you are not proud of. I hope those around you are not childish enough to throw it in your face.

Great EW interview, Angie to the max. Seems as if Angie wants to be mostly a mommy for a while, don’t expect to see her except in a very few films. She and Brad are quite quirky and very much alike, and I imagine he has drawn a few tattoos on her as well, LOL.

And so she wears a gun her son drew. So what! Her being UN Ambassador has nothing to do with her son being a boy and loving boy things. Good lord people get a grip! She’s not advocating violence or a war or anything she is letting her son be a kid. Anyone with boy children know that they will turn anything into a gun. Perhaps you haters would prefer if she lets Maddox wear Sihoh’s tutu.

I never bought guns for my son, or nephews, when they were growing up. Guns signify aggression and violence.
WAR IS HELL, parents should teach their children to hate it.
