OlderAngelina Jolie: Brad Pitt is Hard to Shop For!
Angelina Jolie gave a refreshingly candid interview to Entertainment Weekly while checking out a window display of Corum watches at the Grand-Hôtel du Cap-Ferrat in the south of France.
On her partner not being easy to buy things for: “Brad is the hardest person to shop for. ‘He has impeccable design taste. And whenever he sees something he likes, he buys it for himself.”
On Brad’s most recent gift to her (a gun-charm necklace she wore to her EW photo shoot): ”Mad, our 6-year-old, draws lots of war scenarios. He’s all into war and guns. So for Mother’s Day he drew a machine gun, and Brad had it made into a necklace, which is really sweet. It’s really cute. I think it’s really good!”
On some people who can’t reconcile her old persona, where she talked about knives and cutting, with her more recent identity as a mother and activist: “But again, it’s not that different. The reason I talked about going through certain pains or even cutting myself is that I was already out the other side. I knew there were people that do that — and somehow are happy that somebody admitted they did and discussed how they got out of it. I don’t see the point of doing an interview unless you’re going to share the things you learn in life and the mistakes you make. So to admit that I’m extremely human and have done some dark things, I don’t think makes me unusual or unusually dark. I think it actually is the right thing to do and I’d like to think it’s the nice thing to do.”
On anything she’s said that she wishes she hadn’t (like all that business about wearing the vial of Billy Bob Thornton’s blood around your neck when you two were married): “No! It was never a vial anyway. It was like a flower press. It was like from a slight cut on your finger and you press your fingerprint in. It was kind of a sweet gesture. I thought it was kind of romantic! I still love him dearly and think the world of him and I’m proud to have been his wife for a time. I don’t believe in regrets. It’s a dangerous habit to get into — it makes you pause in your life if you start thinking back and questioning yourself.”
On people saying being pregnant is bad for one’s sex life: “No, I think it’s quite the opposite. It’s great for the sex life. It just makes you a lot more creative. So you have fun, and as a woman you’re just so round and full.”
On Brad’s new tattoo: “I drew that. We went to Davos. It’s not that we were bored at the World Economic Forum, but one night we didn’t have anything to do, so I was drawing on his back.”

The Celebrity 100 is Forbes’ list of the world’s most powerful — and best-paid — celebrities. To generate the list, Forbes estimates celebrity earnings, then factors in media metrics like Google hits, press mentions as compiled by Factiva, TV/radio mentions from Lexis/Nexis and the number of times an A-lister appears on the cover of more than 50 consumer magazines
Earnings estimates are for June 2007 to June 2008 and consist of dollars earned solely from entertainment-related income. Management, agent, and attorney fees are not deducted.
Golf star Tiger Woods retained the No. 2 spot on the list, raking in $115 million on and off the course, while actress Angelina Jolie soared to the third spot, combining $14 million in earnings with unrivaled levels of fame.
Joining Jolie in the top 10 is boyfriend Brad Pitt, with whom she is expecting twins. Pitt banked $20 million in the past 12 months and was often spotted on the covers of magazines with Jolie as the two traveled the world promoting movies and working for various charities.
Another power couple in the top 10: pop star Beyonce Knowles (No. 4) and hip-hop mogul Jay-Z (No. 7). Beyonce had a monster year, pulling in $80 million between a highly successful concert tour, private shows, a fashion line, endorsement deals and film work. Jay-Z left Def Jam Records to sign a $150 million deal with concert promoter Live Nation. The deal provides the rapper and entrepreneur with money for recording, tours and other entertainment endeavors for the next decade.
Hip-hop impresario 50 Cent was the third-highest earner on the list (he ranked 26th overall), taking in $150 million before taxes. Last summer Coca-Cola paid $4.1 billion for Glaceau, the beverage company that owns Vitamin Water. The self-admitted former drug dealer owned a small stake in the company.
The highest-ranked actor on the list is Johnny Depp, in sixth place. Depp made $72 million last year, much of it earned on the “back end” of Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Man’s Chest, which grossed more than $950 million worldwide. Will Smith, ranked 11th, is the highest paid actor in Hollywood, bringing home $80 million, including an estimated $20 million for his role in the upcoming anti-superhero flick “Hancock.”
This year 27 newcomers make the list. Among them: rock band the Police, who sold $200 million worth of tickets and played to 4 million fans during a massive international tour. “Daily Show” host Jon Stewart, “The Office’s” Steve Carell, and reality-TV personality Lauren Conrad are also notable new members.

#162: Is that what your parents taught you? Teach your kids anything you like, they’re your kids. Leave other kids alone cause they are none of your business.
Just look at how unhappy you are and how meddlesome…that is attributable to your parents’ teachings. It didn’t help any that you hate wars and guns…you’re still a miserable, sanctimonious prig who has no self-control. Would you say you’re drawn to extremes?
I think so, yeah. We joke about that at home a lot, because we walk in different worlds together, Brad and I. We joke about the extremes of the things we’ll do.
Like what?
Well, certain things are private! But there’s a side of us that’s so mommy-daddy and then there’s a side of us that’s…very man and woman. I’ll leave it at that. We both like to ride motorcycles, we both like to fly planes, that’s the spirited side of us. Then the other side of us is very focused on silly mommy-daddy things. So I guess that’s extremes, but I just think of that as balance.

The reason people are so sensitive about people letting their children play war, is because we have a war going on right now in Iraq, a war the US started. We have lost thous of our own young people and bodies are stacking up every week. Tens of thous of Iraqi civilians have been slaughtered. This is why parents talking of their children playing war pisses many of us off.

Hi everyone,
I love the interview, more importantly, I love how Angie and Brad continue to prove that no one really knows what is going on with them. Remember when so many people assumed Brad had a map of the levees in New Orleans tattooed on his back when in fact, it is a drawing by Angie. Got to love how they keep proving the tabs wrong.
Premiers are nice, but it will not be the same without Angie’s presence. What will sell “Wanted” will be the trailers on t.v. They need to do a media splash with the trailers on tv and have John and Morgan do some of the talk shows. The trailers are the really catcher.
I for one will be there. The movie “He’s Not all that Into You” I will not pay to go and see that movie, it seems like one of those movies like “27 dresses”, “P.S. Love you”, “Best Man” those girls nite out movie that will be out for a few weeks then gone. It will not be a #1 box office draw for the men and teenagers(esepcially boys) will not be interested in it. It seems to be one of those movies you wait until it comes out on dvd or hits the dollar cinema.
Guns aren’t just used to kill, it is also used to defend and protect. Most wars have ended in peace and it has been known to lead to freedom for the oppressed.
You can’t shield your kids and have them grow up ignorant and oblivious. What do you do if your kid gets curious? Do you just shut him up and put blinders on him?

Thanks trt for being a voice of reason. Angie has seen a lot of the world and is not naive to think waving a white flag is going to solve the world’s problems. Kids have questions and Madd seems like a very inquisitive child. I am sure Angie has e xplained the reasons for the tragic things in this world..(as much as he can understand)

#189: Andy, I think the photographer wanted extreme closeups to show if Angie is as good as she looks and compared to long shots of her. You can almost see the distention of the lines, like she’s looking really close into the curved lens of the camera. It’s not focused right and it might be intentional.
Whatever the photographer’s motives are, Angie is still beautiful from whatever angle. Other actresses might complain but I don’t think Angie is one of them.
I’ve said all along you can tell when the haters heads will explode — any time they have to confront the fact that Angelina and Brad are having sex together — or that they may have seen each others bits.

Gen, Powell really should be the next President of the US but was smart enough to get out of politics. For the people criticizing her actions with her kids and saying Brad is whipped because he lets her have her way “you’ve got to be kidding.”
He is the one who gave her the necklace of the drawing.And as for her talking about their private life she didn’t say much. But what I like is the fact that she is letting the people who “can’t stand her” know is that she is happy Brad is happy and their kids are happy. They please each other in every way, she says this very indirectly. He is a loving man and when he was with Anniston he did everything to please her and put what he wanted aside. But with Angie she GIVES and takes. And that why he is ALWAYS with her. He seems not to want to say things because they will twist what he says more but Jolie doesn’t give a “”"”. If she drew on him so what that’s his back and she probably does what she wants with that body and he doesn’t seem to mind it at all. I think they are jealous Angie.
She sounds like many of the criminals in prison Doesn’t like to have regrets, etc. She never takes responsibiity for any of her actions and manages to sound like a pious freak. Poor Jane Pitt. Poor kids. Brad you are stupid.
