OlderChris Martin: I’m Still Trying To Live Up To Brad Pitt
Coldplay’s Chris Martin is happily married to Gwyneth Paltrow– they even have two kids together. But somehow, Chris still feels like an underdog.
“You’ve got to be hungry,” he tells Rolling Stone. “If your wife went out with Brad Pitt, you’d want to prove yourself, you know what I mean?”
Brad, then 31, and Gwyn, then 22, started dating in 1995 after they met on the set of the thriller Seven and got engaged in November 1996. Their two-and-a-half-year relationship ended in June 1997.
Also in the Rolling Stone article, Chris mentions that he sees reason for hope: “As soon as Barack Obama becomes president, people will be a bit more optimistic. If Obama was to be president, it would immediately change the whole outside world’s opinion of America overnight. America’s public image at the moment is really bad. And it’s a bummer, because over half of Americans are the coolest people on the planet. But they’ve been so misrepresented… But I think that, really, the fair thing would be, in electing the American president, to let everyone in the world vote, because it affects all of us. If there was a world vote, there’s no question who would win. No question. Of course, Barack Obama is human like the rest of us. He’s going to f— up. But I’m just trying to look on the bright side. What’s the point of being negative? Where does that get us? It gets you your own radio chat show, but it doesn’t really do anything for the world.”

He really shouldn’t worry about measuring up to Brad Pitt, after all, Gwyneth and Brad broke up years ago and she chose to marry him, not Brad, so this certianly was not some kind of replacement deal, I would say. Also, I never realized how much they actually look alike, in the pictures above, Gwyneth and Chris could even be siblings. I always thought their kids were all her, but now, I also see a lot of him in Moses.

Really I do not believe that CM and GP live their lives comparing themselves to BP’s or others. She’s not my favorite actress, and I like just one record of coldplay, but I think that the way CM talks is a joke, and maybe it’s being taken out of context.
After all, it must be tiring to be asked or referred to someone who is in the past. If Brad has also talked sometimes of someone in his past in a positive manner, Gwyneth and even others are entitled to say positive stuff or anecdotes about each other. It would show that they are adults, that they are open and hold no regrets, just like Angelina has said in the new post. Moving on does not necessarily mean erasing absolutely everything good and bad.

I can’t help thinking that Chris is rather immature. I’m not American and yes, whoever is elected the american president will take actions which affect me - as will China’s president or Russia and in time, India.
However, America is not my country and American Presidents should always make sure that he puts his country and his country people’s interest first and foremost, as I would expect the President of MY COUNTRY to do.
The fact that an American President should make sure that America maintains good relationships with its allies and its neighbours because to do so is GOOD FOR AMERICANS is a no brainer. No man is an island and no country either in this globalised world.

PS And I do think he has a point regarding the President of the US. The US is not as powerful as it used to be, but it is still one of the most powerful countries in the world and what it does has global implications. And let’s face it - if George Bush did not decide to go to war against Saddam, Australia, the UK, etc., would not have, either, and their soldiers wouldn’t have died alongside the americans and iraqis.

After living in the U.S for a while I have noticed that Americans, English, Irish and Aussies all have a similar culture, except when it comes to humour, it is the one thing that is different. None of you - nor I, are in the industry that is Hollywood. What’s wrong with them mentioning him, praising him, or God forbid! liking him? He’s been in the business for 15+ years and has a great reputation, work ethic, generous heart; the love of a good woman and children he’s dreamed of having ALL HIS LIFE!
Most of you would rather believe tabloids that for celebrity “addicts” is money in the bank - The more salacious the story, the more someone will pay to get it. Stories are obtained by UNNAMED “sources”, “friends of” and “Insiders”, all of whom are handsomely paid for their stories that because on laziness on the magazine’s part are very rarely verified.
I know people who would often pay $40.00 to $50.00 per WEEK (that’s $2,400.00 per year) to read EVERYTHING about celebrities, or rather, get pictures of their “favorites”… Thankfully, the internet now provides those same pictures (usually more than the magazines would run for free!), and now those same people spend that money on other things, like food. Some of them donate that money to their local food banks.
Maybe you nay-sayers should take a look around you to see what you can do to help others instead of getting on your high-horses and acting like you know what these people do in their lives - You don’t live with them, nor do the people who peddle gossip to naive, lonely, or downright self-righteous hypocrites whose own lives should be fixed first.

This is Chris Martin on the cover of Rolling Stone promoting Coldplay’s latest Viva La Vida. Surprisingly enough, Chris, who adamantly refuses to discuss his wife Gwyneth Paltrow, actually alludes to her past relationship with Brad Pitt.
When discussing ambition and where he finds inspiration, Chris said:

Seriously, he seems rather fixated on Brad Pitt. I’ve seen Coldplay in concert several times. On at least 3 occasions, Chris addresses the crowd like:
Hello you, way at the back…don’t worry, none of us look like Brad Pitt so you’re not missing anything if you’re not in the front.
Chris also said he questioned his heterosexuality as a youth:
“It was more like, ‘Oh ****, what if?’, because was brought up to think it was wrong. It sounds silly to say it now, but when you’re a kid you think, ‘I’m going to ************ for eternity if I like other guys or if I marry someone Jewish’.”

This is the biggest pile of crap I’ve read in a really long time. Statements like this are why celebrities should keep their mouths shut about current events — when they spew, all they do is show their own ignorance. Martin obviously suffers from BDS — Bush Derangement Syndrome. Everything in the world is GWB’s fault, no matter what it is, to these people. A-list dirty laundry is always a hot item. Chris Martin didn’t need a scandal to promote the music from Coldplay. People just really enjoy the music for what it is-real.

Well, I think that Chris is joking about a lot of things but about Brad Pitt..I totally, honestly think ..in fact I know that there is no comparison
between Chris and Brad because Brad has a poor mind and everything else he has, is just not that important ,while,Chris is a beautiful man inside-out. Because when you’re intelligent and human
and such a good man with all of that talent wich actually brings joy and happiness to a lot of people , than I really don’t think you should
even care about people like Brad. I’m also going to use the chance to say that Coldplay has made my life so much more beautiful than it was, filled it with positivism and I understood that I wasn’t alone in this world because I found myself into their brilliant creations. I love you guys and ,Chris Martin, you’re one of my favourite people in the world.

Chris Martin has nothing to worry about in my opinion he is brilliant and his music is magic……he has lived up if not more Brad Pitt so over rated just good looking i dont care what anyone says….Chris MArtin is just amazing….Gwen is lucky to have him.
