OlderChris Martin: I’m Still Trying To Live Up To Brad Pitt
Coldplay’s Chris Martin is happily married to Gwyneth Paltrow– they even have two kids together. But somehow, Chris still feels like an underdog.
“You’ve got to be hungry,” he tells Rolling Stone. “If your wife went out with Brad Pitt, you’d want to prove yourself, you know what I mean?”
Brad, then 31, and Gwyn, then 22, started dating in 1995 after they met on the set of the thriller Seven and got engaged in November 1996. Their two-and-a-half-year relationship ended in June 1997.
Also in the Rolling Stone article, Chris mentions that he sees reason for hope: “As soon as Barack Obama becomes president, people will be a bit more optimistic. If Obama was to be president, it would immediately change the whole outside world’s opinion of America overnight. America’s public image at the moment is really bad. And it’s a bummer, because over half of Americans are the coolest people on the planet. But they’ve been so misrepresented… But I think that, really, the fair thing would be, in electing the American president, to let everyone in the world vote, because it affects all of us. If there was a world vote, there’s no question who would win. No question. Of course, Barack Obama is human like the rest of us. He’s going to f— up. But I’m just trying to look on the bright side. What’s the point of being negative? Where does that get us? It gets you your own radio chat show, but it doesn’t really do anything for the world.”

I think Chris is joking when he’s talking about Brad. Why would he want to be like Brad? Brad cheated on his wife and left for a woman with two kids. Why Why Why would anyone want to be like that???
He’s also kidding about letting non-American’s vote…but obviously there’s no sense of humor around here.

Obviously Chris is in love with Brad Pitt not Gwyneth Paltrow. He refuses to talk about his wife or be seen with his wife. He never talks about his children. But he can’t stop talking about Brad Pitt.
Maybe if he and the rest of the world would stop being negative about the US, or at least the half that isn’t marching in lockstep with his world view, maybe that would be a good thing. This idiot would have us all paying $9 per gallon of gas (as is the case in parts of Europe) and paying 80% of our income in taxes (as is the case in England). Go home and overthrow the monarchy - do something useful Mr. Rat Face.

It’s funny that every other country in the world votes for politicians that hold the best interests for their country, even Martin’s country England, but American’s have to vote for someone that’s in the best interest for the rest of the world, give me a break, it’s stupid and going to make America weak and I’m not even American , I’m Canadian but I can still appreciate that the only country that is ever willing to sacrifice blood and treasure for other people has always been America. Americans to the rest of the world is like the friend that is always their for you , so you feel you can **** on them , until one day they have had enough,
it doesn’t matter what you pity party Jen fans think, brad, will always be considered sexy, and a all around great guy, he is a great talent, smart, and independent, if he was a follower, why is he not still with his ex-wife, he wanted children/family and he left to get what he wanted with one of the sexiest people alive, now that takes balls, brad is not a cheater, Hollywood will always hold brad in high regard, and so will his many, many, many fans, he is a man with needs like everyone else, if he was my son, i would tell him to do the same thing. i would want some grandchildren, if your selfish, shallow wife can’t do it, get someone who would, brad traded up and i am glad he did, he deserves to be happy, like everyone else, good luck brad.
Our GOVERNMENT might have a bad reputation, but the American PEOPLE do not, for most people understand that the citizens cannot control what politicians do once they are in office. It is the hatred spewed by narrow-minded people in entertainment that give Americans a bad name. Most Americans Chris? How judgmental can you get? I wonder what you have to say about blacks, women, american indians, and any other group or class of people who might not think like you do. You attempt to come off as wise and insightful, yet you insult a whole country of people. Good work.
This is the biggest pile of crap I’ve read in a really long time. Statements like this are why celebrities should keep their mouths shut about current events — when they spew, all they do is show their own ignorance. Martin obviously suffers from BDS — Bush Derangement Syndrome. Everything in the world is GWB’s fault, no matter what it is, to these people. Whenever I hear anyone talk about the Obamessiah, I immediately think, “there’s a ******.” The man has zero qualifications and experience. He blathers on about “change,” but can’t articulate what that is. He’s an empty suit. I’m going to have to hold my nose and vote for McCain in November — at least the man stands for something, rather than spending countless hours in front of the mirror trying to perfect a saintly visage. And I’ve got news for the Chris Martins of the world — the majority of Americans will, I think, do the exact same thing. Prepare for four years of President McCain.
If you are a huge fan of Coldplay and Chris Martin himself (which I am) and you follow all his interviews (TV, Radio, Print), you will read these statements and see it’s just Chris being Chris.
Everybody in his fan base knows that he has one major self-deprecating British sense of humor and that half the time he makes fun of himself and jokes around.

Chris Martin has so much more depth than Brad Pitt. If Brad never broke up with Jennifer and hooked up with Angelina he probably wouldn’t have been on so many magazine covers for the past 3 years. A-list dirty laundry is always a hot item. Chris Martin didn’t need a scandal to promote the music from Coldplay. People just really enjoy the music for what it is-real.

I’m also going to use the chance to say that Coldplay has made my life so much more beautiful than it was, filled it with positivism and I understood that I wasn’t alone in this world because I found myself into their brilliant creations. Chris Martin has nothing to worry about in my opinion he is brilliant and his music is magic……he has lived up if not more Brad Pitt so over rated just good looking i dont care what anyone says….Chris MArtin is just amazing….Gwen is lucky to have him.
