Johnny Depp films Public Enemies in Chicago on his 45th birthday, June 9th.
Public Enemies is a crime drama set during The Great Depression focusing on FBI agent Melvin Purvis’ (Christian Bale) attempt to stop criminals John Dillinger (Depp), and Pretty Boy Floyd (Channing Tatum).
Depp’s character, John Dillinger, was an American bank robber whose exploits dominated the press during what is sometimes referred to as the public enemy era, between 1931 and 1935.
According to a recent survey, Johnny Depp is Britain’s favorite actor, beating out their own British actors Daniel Craig, Sir Sean Connery and Orlando Bloom. Although he has received three Oscar nominations, Depp has not yet won an Academy Award.

I’m looking forward to this movie not only because I’m a Johnny Depp fan. It’s being directed by Michael Mann who made “Last of the Mohicans,” “Collaterial” and one of my favorite movies of all time, “Heat.” I wasn’t a big fan of the feature film version of “Miami Vice” that he did, which was surprising since he was one of the creators of the original series. But I have a feeling that this film will be a return to form.
He will look boyish when he is 65. He doesn’t get older looking, he gets more distinguished looking. All the women in my family are Depp fans and have our favorite Depp “comfort movie”, like comfort food but with less calories. My favorite is Chocolat and Iove the scene when he plays the guitar.

He looks fine. Better than most men do anyway—BUT, the past three years or so his true age has indeed been showing.

Is this a remake of the James Cagney film “Public Enemy” ? Cause if it is I’m kinda worried. As much as I love Depp, he could NEVER pull of anything remotely close to what Cagney did in that film ….

That was in the National Enquirer, not exactly the best of sources and they were both in costume. Apparently Marion stole her current boyfriend from Diane Kruger while they worked on a movie together so some blogger who took pictures on the set sold a bunch of them to the Enquirer. Apparently, he’s pissed that they turned his “innocent” photos of the set into an affair story. But, really, what could he expect when dealing with the National Enquirer.
As to Keira Knightley, you do realize that he is 22 years older than her, right? He was getting divorced when she was born!
Personally, I can’t wait for Public Enemies! Just following the news about it (because of Johnny) has turned me on to Christian Bale and now I’m disappointed they’ll only have one scene together!

This guys got it all…best actor ever, handsome and sexy. His acting range is phenomenal. Finding Neverland was his best film ever. I absolutely adore him. Lucky Vanessa The Brit’s recognize great talent when they see it, I guess.

Hey #7 What do you mean? “Playing himself again.” How many of Johnny’s movies have you seen? Obviously not many-Here’s a few; Cry Baby, Edward Scissorhands, Don Juan DeMarco, Donnie Brasco, Sleepy Hollow, Ed Wood, Chocolat, Pirates I,II,III,The Libertine, Charlie and the Chocolate Factory, and Sweeney Todd. That’s only about a third of his movies. Johnny’s strongest quality is that he doesn’t play himself. He is that character! Compare his roles-you are wrong!!

so he was filming in milwaukee, where i live, and he went into one of the smoke shops and the clerk asked him what band he was in…didn’t recognize him at all, thought he was just another local stoner band member …pretty funny.
But it didn´t really look like they were in custumes- that´s why I asked.
And to the thing with him and Keira……of course that will never happen. And I know how much older he is- I just said that they would look really good together.
(oh and——I don´t hate Johnny Depp)

Johnny Depp was even greater in “The Man Who Cried.” Have any of you seen it? I am a JD fan and also a major horse lover, so this movie was extra special to me. I wish someone could tell me if he did all the horse stunts e.g., horse bowing, horse cantering/loping around the fire, ect. This was a really good one with Christina Ricci.
Eat your heart out girls! I shared about 7 1/2 hours filming this scene about 15 feet from Johnny. I tell you what, he’s hotter in person than these pictures show you. It was the luckiest day of my life. Being able to spent Johnny’s 45th birthday filming with him. I still can’t believe it. There isn’t enough words to describe how awesome it was. I am in one of the video clips on this site. Johnny you’re hot. Oh by the way, I even told him happy birthday! Life is good!
