Katherine Heigl Slaps ‘Greys’ Writers in Face

Katherine Heigl Slaps ‘Greys’ Writers in Face

Grey’s Anatomy star Katherine Heigl said on Wednesday that she did not put her name in for Emmy consideration this year because she did not feel she was given material to justify it.

Now, a Grey’s Anatomy insider fights back and says, “The show bent over backwards to accommodate her film schedule, and then she criticizes the show for lack of material?” the insider told EW. “It’s an ungrateful slap in the face to the very writers responsible for her Emmy win in the first place.”

Last year Katherine was advised by her own manager/mother that she “didn’t have a shot in hell of winning,” and made a point of telling the Primetime Emmy Awards audience in her speech.

Grey’s Anatomy has slipped in the ratings this past season but is still a top 10 show.

amazing how the talented ones are the most humble. heigl should be counting her blessings that someone without any acting ability has made it as far as she has.

# 2

No one cares. F*ck off.

# 3

What a hypocrite! I don’t know why anyone would want to cast her in movies.

I stopped watching Grey’s long ago because of her, and I don’t buy tickets for her films, because she’s so obnoxiously self-righteous.

# 4

I love her! She’s always so honest!
I stopped watching Grey’s Anatomy cause the 4th season was pretty awful…

Jared, I need some Ben Barnes! LOL Are there nu pics?!

# 5

Haven’t seen this past season, so I can’t compare. But I do think she could have formulated her opinion a bit more diplomatically, and should have talked to the writers earlier on, if she was unhappy with the script. But I also think, even if the script isn’t excellent, a really good actor is still able to make a decent show out of it by playing esceptionally well and putting in the rigtht interpretation to spice up whatever the script is lacking.

Oh, and by the way, if you have a second to spare, please visit my new blog http://sunnykidstyle.wordpress.com/ about stylish design for kids and feel free to give me some feedback. I’d really appreciate it :):)

my mistake sorry

# 8

she’s crazy. she forgets she;s just a supporting actress in the show.

# 9

Honestly she’s so right. Grey’s went down since mid of s3 and I hope after taht amazing fianle everything will be up soon. But Izzie’s storylines sucked badly.

parisgirl @ 06/13/2008 at 7:43 am

I stopped watching Grey’s cause of Izzie/Katherine so if she wants to go, good lol

and #5 is indeed right
a great actor manages to turn a ****** role in something great
(ex: Robert Knepper in Prison Break does an amazing job with T-Bag) so again stfu Katherine -.-

I thought it was unfair that she didn’t get the equal paycheque of her Greay Anatomy co-stars. Now I realise what she’s all about. Katherine STFU and be greatful for what you’ve got. She’s not that great an actor. If she keeps it up she won’t have a career at all.

What will happen with George and Izzie……..

So annoying and ungrateful. Why don’t you just leave then?

im so sick of her! shes seems to stew up something new all the time!

What an arrogant b…h! If she feels she doesn’t deserve to be nominated, fine, she could say there are more deserving actresses, but no; she had to say it was because she wasn’t given good enough material for her to shine! Another slap!

It’s true; the talented ones are humble and respectful. The good thing is when GA ends she’ll be back to anonymity!

Only problem of Katherine is that, she speak to much….

Peace and love @ 06/13/2008 at 7:57 am

lol, she’s lucky she has her own production company now…i think other movie people will not want to hire her that much she’s trashed everything she’s done after she’s done it. KU, 27 Dresses and now grey’s. At least in her company she can hire herself even thought anotehr actress could probably do better.

She should take her own advice and just stop talking……i love watching her shot herself in the foot all the time its so entertaining :)

Last season Pompeo went all last Summer whining that she didn’t understand her character, She is lucky people think she is dumb as a doorknob, and actually took her words at face value, and not as a slam to the writers.

Heigl hasn’t the luck of being as stupid as Pompeo.

wuah I hate how her fame got to her head! gooosh!
she’s just annoying! and rude!
look at Patrick, he manages to be successful AND a nice person! He says he’s greatful for what GA helped him achiefe.. and Katie just doesn’t see that if it weren’t for GA.. she’d still be hidden somewhere and wouldn’t have gotten those roles in Knocked up and 27 Dresses and all! ANNOYING!

Miss Heigl, I would like to know if you can write.

You are not Edward Norton or Kenneth Branagh, do not even imagine that you are Emma Thompson.

Prove it to anybody that you can write better than the writers in your show, until then, you better shut up. Or tell it to your hairdresser, it looks like you need one!

Girl speaks her mind & is blasted for it.

She is right. What exactly did she have to work with last season ? Nothing. Good on her declaring herself out of the Emmy race.

Given Greys is down 25% in ratings & she has a thriving movie career, I don’t blame her for wanting some decent material if she is to stay on Greys.

#18 - I agree with your post. Heigl is a bankable movie star now, so everything she says is jumped on regardless.

Peace and love @ 06/13/2008 at 8:18 am

#18 when EP and for that matter PD and SO voice their displeasure with the show they do it with tact and manage to NOT come off as whiny brats. Their critisism of the show is constructive and not bashing like Heigl does here. But i guess its all in her plan to get out of the show, maybe she should take pointers from IW :)

Who wants to bet that she only have like 2 lines in the season opener??

(Sorry for my numerous spelling mistakes :))

[☆I n F a m o u s☆] @ 06/13/2008 at 8:22 am

still a arrogant bish.

Honesty in Hollywood is rare. Everyone knows that “Greys” had a rough season, even those of us who love it.

Based on her high profile, she could have gotten a nomination just for showing up to work.

She and the show don’t deserve it this year and she knows it. And deep down, I think most fans do too.

Anonymous @ 06/13/2008 at 8:39 am

Her bashing Grey’s Anatomy also effects other people’s jobs connected to that show.
You supporters of her so called “honesty” forget the rippled effect her bad mouthing does. Less people watch the show and that puts not only the careers of the other actors in jepordy but the rest of the monior cast crew who most likely don’t make as much as her.
If she were off the show and wanted to speak openly that is one thing BUT to bad mouth her show while on it, makes her to be an idiot. And in that small town..it will backfire on her. THEN she has the nerve to still bring Isiah Washington into the mix to deflect attention off her ingratitude.

Middle man @ 06/13/2008 at 8:50 am

Heigl is just speaking her mind and she shouldn’t be blasted for doing so. The truth is that the writers really did not give her character much to work with this season, and even if a top actor were to play her part they may still struggle to win an emmy over this insignificant role of Izzie Stevens this Seasons. Heigl is only stating what she feels and she shouldn’t need to cover up for the writers or say anything otherwise.

Hmmmm I think I sense the death of a supporting character next season……………..ha
Katherine needs to get over herself and stop biting the hand that feeds her.

she’s an ungrateful ***** who needs her untalented ass fired

To Middle man @ 06/13/2008 at 9:05 am

Speaking her mind? She’s biting the hand that feeds her.

she could have pulled out without the blasting her writers but that would require her not being a selfish diva *****. give her 2 lines next season writers — better yet don’t write for her at all.

who the hell will want to write for her in this movie career she wants? she blasted seth rogan she blasted grey’s anatomy. the girl needs to do what she told isaiah and just not freaking talk period.

jerzeegirl @ 06/13/2008 at 9:07 am

She is part of a ensemble cast, sometimes she will be window dressing. Ms. bankable star also blasted the “Knocked Up” movie. So I guess next she’ll be writing, directing and producing.

If she had a problem with the show go directly to Shonda and sit down face to face. There’s plenty of out of work actors who would trade places with her in a heartbeat. Nothing wrong with a woman speaking her mind but how about some decorum?

Snaggle tooth speaks again…

Aleksandra @ 06/13/2008 at 9:31 am

it’s ok if she feels that way, she has a right to it, but c’mon…”speaking her mind”?? that’s just rude… I love Izzy, don’t get me wrong, but this is a true example of being ungrateful…just shut up and do your job!

What are you people talking about, everytime people say no to something like this you all just assume it’s a slap in the face to the writers. Maybe she just wants to give someone else a chance. To me she seems like a very genuine person that is not greedy. Did any of you people ever think of that. Stop making a big thing out of nothing and stirring up **** all the time.

I understand were she comes from, but she shouldn’t have made her
“feelings” about the script public, she should of have talked to the writers instead of going public.

she is getting too big for her boots, 27 dresses sucked, the chick who plays “fern mayo” in jawbreakers made me laugh more than she did!! LOL

People seem to be forgetting, Katherine included, that ALL shows suffered last year due to the writer’s strike. Once the strike was over, writer’s tried to get everything they’d had planned for the season into fewer episodes.

So it’s understandable that some shows were not up to par with previous seasons because in previous seasons they didn’t have to deal with a writer’s strike and cut episodes.

weetiger3 @ 06/13/2008 at 9:58 am

It has been reported she wants out of her Grey’s contract because of her burgeoning film/producing career. Ya think this latest has something to do with that?? Hmmm?

blackfriday1978 @ 06/13/2008 at 10:11 am

I believe people should always be honest and truthful… however, there is a difference between grateful/with class versus ZERO class/arrogant… clearly KH is trying extremely hard to tell us who she really is…

she has such a BIG MOUTH!!
sweet lord, just take the nomination, and smile!
be thankful people still hire you!

she has such a BIG MOUTH!!
sweet lord, just take the nomination, and smile!
be thankful people still hire you!

That is her opinion. But she also shows lack of decorum. Maybe she thinks that she is being a smart.

Does she ever stop whining? She also bad-mouthed Knocked Up. The sad thing is it would have been a better movie except she sucked in it. She was NEVER believable in that role. Almost managed to ruin a very good movie.

She has a speak first, think second or not at all mentality. Her outrageous comments will continue to come back to bite her in the tush.

She is really getting annoying, isn´t she?

And that stupid hairstyle doesn´t help either…

please b*tch, i’m tried of this wh*re she can’t act she 95% ain’t gonna win an emmy of anything ever in her suck acting career

ONE HIT Wonder Hegial

When I first read this, I thought that she made a formal statement to the press about this. Last night I saw the footage of paps surrounding her walking down the street asking her why she withdrew her name. She probably should have just said “no comment”, but she didn’t. Not a shocker, since she hasn’t been shy about voicing her opinion in the past.

I have no problem with people being honest - I’d prefer that than people who say what they think everyone wants to hear. She obviously wants off the show, but she has a contract she can’t get out of. Hopefully she realizes that she’s burning bridges saying things like this in public. Maybe there is no other way for her to get herself out of her contract?

“oh snap”, hate to burst your bubble, but she already won the Emmy for this role.

Classless talentless chain smoking trash, not even pretty.

Um… I would have done the same thing?

If I felt like I didn’t deserve the nomination I would have given it up to someone who was more worthy of it.

So… I guess I’m the only one on her side.

Her character on Grey’s didn’t have a storyline that would deem her worthy of an Emmy. This past season was more about Meredith and Calli, the whole lesbian thing and George.

Izzie’s storyline wasn’t prominent. It’s not a shot at the writers per se, because her storyline wasn’t focused as much because the other characters need more developing.

So, I agree with Katherine.

If the role sucked (she really got lucky with the “Denny” storyline) then it shows some class to decline the nomination. She shouldn’t have made any comment about it at all; just decline.

Uh-oh, another actress getting pigheaded… BIGheaded.

can someone tell me what she said about knocked up please?

i think it was in poor taste to put the writers on blast. it is one thing to decline but it is another to put those who put you in this same position on blast. it shows that she is ungrateful not only for her comments, but for wanting to leave grey’s also. without the show, she would be a hasbeen like she was.

Of course it’s all right for her to speak her mind, but there is a time and a place for everything, and the Emmy Awards are neither the time nor the place for actors to air grievances with the producers/writers. This is so clearly a move to manipulate the writers into giving her character more screen time. And it’s very, very tacky. Oh, Katie. Why must you keep pulling stunts like this? I feel bad for the Grey’s cast. They had enough drama with the whole Isaiah Washington debacle to last a lifetime, and now they have to deal with Katie’s prima donna behavior (although methinks this is a pattern that was established long ago - remember when she made a stink about her salary?). What I have a problem with is her trying to present herself as noble here, when she is so clearly thinking about herself. If she really wanted to give another actress a chance, she wouldn’t have made those comments about “not being given material.” She really lacks class.

Kate Heigl is a cow @ 06/13/2008 at 12:41 pm

She’ s an ass, an arrogant ass. Heigl sucks!

lol she should quit GREYS and see what happens to her so-called ‘film’ career. watch her crawl right back to the show.

MEDIOCRE ACTRESS WITH TOO MUCH -SMOKE- BLOWN UP HER OWN A** NO PUN INTENDED

whatever. shes a *****. shes not
even the main character.

KHisanungratefulBitch @ 06/13/2008 at 2:13 pm

33# are you actually being serious in your comment????!!!!!! I’m sorry but have you read the post clearly because that’s not telling me that she may want to give another person a chance, that’s showing me a lack of gratitude and respect to the people who put her in the Holloywood ladder today.

Others on this comment board are right in that if she had a problem with her character in the show, then go to the writers themselves or whatever to sort everything out rather than slamming them in front of the public, and seriously if she did want to bring the matter into the public’s eye, than there’s a constructive and polite way of doing so, which she obviously forgot in her ‘I’m an honest person’ mode that she probably still hadn’t gotten off of after slamming Knocked Up.

issheserious @ 06/13/2008 at 2:24 pm

Appparently Katherina Hiegal thinks that, and I quote, “I did not want to potentially take away an opportunity from an actress who was given such materials”, I’m sorry but is she seriously trying to actually imply that if she was nominated, she would have beat out other potential winners? so because she’s just that humble, she’s going to drop out to give them an easy win???!!! Obviously it didn’t take KH too long to let fame get to her head.

She sucks at acting, one of the worst actress I’ve seen get this far.

anonymous @ 06/13/2008 at 3:33 pm

You think Isiah Washington was the only one on this show with an overblown ego.

This chick has no humility. She’d better take a lesson from Isiah Washington; hollywood stands together against people who bash it.

Don’t bite the hand that feeds you; not smart when you don’t have the financial and talent clout like a Tom Hanks or Paul Newman.

there’s speaking your mind, and then there’s insulting other people.
she’s a spoiled, overrated and overpaid egomaniac, and she needs to realize that she’s not the only person in the world.
blaming the writers for her not deserving an Emmy is insulting to them, and making everyone else bend to fit her schedule is insulting to the other actors and all the people who put so much effort into making that show as great as it is. it basically says “i’m better than all of you, so if you want me, you will do what i say”
she always says that her character lacks depth and whatnot, but what does she call this? “i don’t deserve an Emmy..but it’s not my fault, it’s the writers’!”…REAL deep.
personally i like her character better! TV’s new “golden girl” will be getting a real kick in the face when they decide they don’t want to put up with her and she gets unexpectedly kicked off the show.
hey, it’s happened before!

What a load of fuss over nothing.

KH issued this statement in relation to being asked directly by the LA Times for a reason why she had declined to put herself forward. She only commented because she was asked, & she spoke the truth. Greys was **** last season & the writers gave Izzie no storyline. FACT

She has proved she doesn’t need Greys anyway. She is bankable to movie studios & can now launch box office no 1 movies with her name alone. Honesty is rare in Hollywood, & appreciated.

anonymous @ 06/13/2008 at 4:06 pm

64# . wow. Please don’t tell me that you believe that KH can alone launch No 1 movies in Box Office because that is taking it too far. Just because she had ONE movie that did well in the box office, you’re going and generalising it to everything that she is supposedly going to doin the future?

And please, why are you trying to come up with lame excuses about why Kh said what she said. When one is asked a question such as why did you take your name out for a nomination, if the answer can be answered in a constructive manner without causing any controversy or bashing than she should have done that when speaking the ‘truth’, rather than blaming the writers for her character’s not so good storyline whatnot, that’s just bullshit. Honesty is always appreciatred when the person who is being honest does it right without a spiteful and rude manner which I’m sorry to say is exactly what KH did and it’s going to bite her in the ass in the near future.

Carlos Castejon @ 06/13/2008 at 4:39 pm

Heigl was quite brave to state the obvious. Season 4 was crap. She got ***** material, she would probably get a nom because this is how things roll with the Emmys.

SO didn’t have anything to do all season, and she is entering and risks getting a nom for doing nothing all season, and will be very happy.

CW got the material, and botched it. She proved that she cannot carry the dramatic material, and will be stuck doing the “nazi” ’til the show ends, and she will get a nod.

EP can’t act, she does perplexed, and hurt and perplexed. So they write her doing the only 2 things she can do over and over. This season she mastered the happy perplexed in the finale. She might get a nom.

So kudos KH. It was an horrid, and boring season, and you are right to slam the writers, and very right not to embarrass yourself with a nomination for an season and material that doesn’t measure up to the 3 preceding seasons.

off the property @ 06/13/2008 at 5:02 pm

ha ha ha ha… OMFG is that FUN-NY! you effing can’t WRITE this stuff! That is funny funny stuff, Katherine. Funny… ha ha! keep it up! ha…

i say good on her!!! thats why i love her she is always sooo honest! this past season of grey was the worst so her comments were true. hope the writers are listening.

also i think its a beautiful and humble thing to do - as she said it makes room for others this year to win. another reason why i love her, she could of easily got a nomination but spoke up and thought she didnt deserve one and that she would rather someone else get one.

GO KATIE!!!!! love you!!!!

Good for her! shes an amazing actress and didnt get any story lines. her co stars were probably thinking the same thing but Katie was brave enough to say it. besides who out of her co stars can lead a number one movie? Katie has two!

As said by hollywood before,in history shes probably the one who has transformed from tv to movies the smoothest

What you see is what you get with her! Go katherine!

#70 ur joking right…..2…she only has one and that is 27 dresses and that was nothing to write home about. KU was a success due to its writers and the guys…..she was the weakest link in that cast.

I feel sorry for the other actors that have to work with this woman, i really do she is insufferable.

i used to like her –her ego just got too much of her

Maybe she should give back her salary or just get off the show all together. What is the point of talking trash about the show that made you a star in the first place. She isn’t famous from her acting anyway. If she didn’t have her looks, she would have nothing. Her personality obviously isn’t admirable. She had a big part in getting a co-star booted off over the most ridiculous thing I have ever heard. Maybe they should have kept Burke on the show. It hasn’t been as good without him but she played a large role in heating up that incident with her big mouth, too.

What’s so brave about being a spoilt rich actress who takes a cheap shot at the writers and the producers of the show that made her famous.

Brave are soldiers who fight in a battlefield, or firefighters, and police in the line of duty who help others at their own peril…PLEASE what exacttly is so brave about this pompous actress?

i think maybe people did not understood well what she ment, im not a natural english speaker but i get the idea she didnt felt kind like ready jet or that she havent work enough to go there kind like it would be for nothing if she ahs nothign she feel like giving is not about the material someone givesyou to work with, the work of an actor is much more…is about the actor itself.. writters give you liens nad story but the actor itselfs gives the life and actitutes and wrigns to live the character and if wasnt reayd she jsut wasnt *-* why would it mena as an agression agaisnt the writters?
xoxo

#73
Why should she return the money? She didn’t write the crap she was given to work with. She showed up to work , she gets payed, If anyone should be returning the money, it should be the writers. On that principle, SO that was given nothing to do all season by the writers should return her money too…

#74
standing up on principle, knowing that people are going to attack you no matter what you say just because you are K. Heigl is brave.

remember da truth @ 06/14/2008 at 6:59 am

This woman is so full of herself, and I really don’t see why. She’s been very very lucky in a year when producers were desperate for product because of the strike.

She could very well be the next David Caruso..

#76 Principle? WTF!!! She’s a highly payed actress and it was her self centered EGO that provoked her comments. All of this was to draw attention to herself at the expense of throwing the writers who give her words to put in her stupid mouth.
It was the same writers who gave her the same words before so why dump on them.

Brave is when you do something for someone else that is risky.
Was she suffering? Did her pay get slashed? No. She’s with a top notch ensemble cast and now she has pissed off the producers.

What a hypocrite..She was out there supposedly showing her support when there was the writer’s strike (CLEARLY that was just a b.s. act all for show to make her appear that she supported the writers guild union) And now when an opportunity comes to throw them under a bus for her lame chances at getting a nomination she gladly offered them up as her reason for not being good enough.

#79

Get a dictionary STAT, right now I’ll help you, with the assistance of the nice people that make Merriam-Webster
hypocrite
Pronunciation: \ˈhi-pə-ˌkrit\
Function: noun
Etymology: Middle English ypocrite, from Anglo-French, from Late Latin hypocrita, from Greek hypokritēs actor, hypocrite, from hypokrinesthai
1 : a person who puts on a false appearance of virtue or religion
2 : a person who acts in contradiction to his or her stated beliefs or feelings

One thing KH never pretended was that she was at the picket line because she supported the writers, and the strike. She said she was there because her boss told her so. You can’t be more honest than that. KH’s big problem is exactly that. She doesn’t play the .hypocrite card.

hahaha.. lack of material? so she is saying that her storylines are ****… so what is good to her? 27 dresses? that was such a ****** movie.. no matter how bad the writing in greys may get or has been, it is still miles ahead of 27 DRESSES!!

Question MArk @ 06/14/2008 at 10:29 pm

LOL.

cant really blame her tho cuz the material for her role this season was crapp!! the whole fourth season was crapp., the end was ok when merder got back together but thats it. so all u people who r goin on about how thats rude nd **** well its not, i mean her role this season was prettty ******!

she doesnt even want to be on grey’s anymore so it really doesnt matter if the writers kill her off or w/e. cuz she said before that she wanted to leave but she still has a contract soo yeaa….

She is so stupid! Why she keep bringing this bad publicity to herself?
She so ******* stupid!

BeatricePotter @ 06/16/2008 at 1:00 am

Real Writing talent in Hollywood is very rare. That is why there is so much garbage on TV (and at athe movies) and all shows end up boring after a few seasons. They run out of ideas - the mediocre writers, that is. Network TV is a wasteland of poorly written dramas, investigative police shows and ridiculously stupid half hour sit coms. Cable is getting all the good writers especially the USA Network, HBO and Showtime..

STephanie @ 06/16/2008 at 4:14 am

Oh Jared, stop being so damn melodramatic.

Why take a possible nod from someone who deserves it? Thats not right. I applaud her for standing up and being honest. This season has been nothing but suck for Izzie.

She has every right to disagree with the writers, SHE made Izzie, more than any writer’s paper EVER could have.

The writers have BUTCHERED the character of “Izzie” That character used to be my absolute favorite on the show..but now I don’t even like it when she comes on the screen (definitely not a flaw of Heigl). They have destroyed many other characters in the process as well, and they are turning the show into SH*T

I’m glad she made a stand for it, I’m sure many other Grey’s fans think the EXACT same way

I hope the writer’s quit making up stupid crap just to try to get ratings, because they really are destroying the characters.

Who the hell does she think she is? Judy Dench? Such a diva. This woman’s acting sucks anyways .

I agree with her decision. I think it’s actually thoughtful of her to withdraw her name if she wasn’t qualified enough. And how would it have been fair to the other nominees who work harder, have more lines and have a bigger role on a show than her?

But, I also think that if she had a problem with her role, she should’ve confronted the writers and producers first before making an unexpected move like that.

I don’t know. I’m at both ends on this one.

truefeather77 @ 06/29/2008 at 8:18 pm

“There are no small parts, just small actors.” You want to shine, shine. Boo hoo that the writers didn’t just turn it all over to you this season — in an ensemble show, other people get their turn up at bat, too.

Plus, she could have blamed her withdrawal on the shortened season due to the writer’s strike, or could just have withdrawn, without the comment. There are ways of doing things right, and ways *not* to do them — she’s not big enough yet (in other than the literal sense) to go around stomping on people’s toes.

I’ve seen her in action before, and she takes over any project she’s involved with — usually by showering charm on the writers. Girl *knows* where her bread is buttered. That she’s *so* ignoring that now, indicates that
1) she wants off Grey’s, and knows just how to achieve it
2) she’s not getting enough mileage anymore from naming herself as the patron saint of gays
3) she believes she’s too big to need a TV show anymore, that a career as a movie star awaits
4) all of the above.

That attitude has crashed other actors before, who dreamed that their star was rising, and wanted out of their TV contract. People with much more talent than her. If she keeps up with the mouth, she won’t be “Knocked Up” — she’ll be “Knocked Out”.

truefeather77 @ 06/29/2008 at 11:52 pm

If she “wasn’t qualified,” she just wouldn’t make the cut. To say she’s withdrawing to give someone else a chance implies that if she stayed in, they *wouldn’t* have a chance.

In Hollywood, there is a way things get done, and a way things do *not* get done. There’s a way the game is played, and it’s a good thing. You do not go around publicly badmouthing your project — you go to the source and fix it, or you keep your mouth Closed.

I think people submit *themselves* for consideration to be nominated for an Emmy. You send in an application and a clip. So if she didn’t want to be nominated, she just didn’t have to send one in. Or if she *did* get nominated, you stay in the race to win points for the team — even to be listed as a “nominee” is good for the show.

Tom Hanks told that to his son, Colin Hanks — show ‘business’ is in two parts. The part that’s fun, is making the “show”. But there’s a *business* side to it, too, and that’s where playing the game is important. A lot of money rides on these things, and if you’re on the team, you have to be a team player. Any mention or notice of a show or movie — barring the openly badmouthing kind of mention — is good publicity for the show.

And uncounted people’s livings are hanging by a thread on this stuff: after the Emmys, networks tally the number of noms and wins they got, and that each show got, to use in advertising. This benefits everyone — the lowliest crew members up to the highest network execs, whose careers are riding on it.

One thing KH has always had going for her was that she knew how to smile, hug, handshake, and play her cards, to get people to put her in a show to begin with. I’m astonished that she continues to show such amazingly bad judgment in the way she’s playing the game now — as I said above, it seems that she thinks she’s too big to have to worry about it. If Tom Hanks is not too big to worry about it, then KH for certain is not there yet.

How long do you think a major league baseball player would continue to earn those big bucks if he forgets how to play the game? (And I don’t just mean the game in the stadium.) We’ve seen it — they screw up, they get their butts kicked. Drugs, bimbos, trashing hotel rooms, not showing up for training, etc. — you don’t play, you pay.

u guys are the most naive people ever, calling her a ***** and stuck up just because she spoke her mind, unlike all these other monotone actors/tresses who all say the same humble **** you know very well is false and prepared because they have no brains to orally express whats in their minds. i mean yeah, what she said was arrogant, but dont blast her as a diva. this is how she feels and she’s sayin it as it is. i remember her comments about Knocked Up being “kinda sexist” and tho i disagreed with her, i gave her kudos for speaking what she thought and not jabbering on with same answers any brainless actress would say like “Oh i loved my character, she was fun to play” or “oh the movie is such a fun movie to make and to watch *smile*”

I think I can forgive her. She has the symptoms of someone who has Asperger syndrome. People who are normal are aware how their actions affect others and she has none of that.

Your effort does help me a lot, thank you.

I really liked your blog! super
