Vanity Fair has charted the most influential blogs about politics, gossip, Hollywood, media, and miscellany, and located them on two basic continuums: tone and content. From “news” vs “opinion” and “earnest” vs “scurrilous”, Just Jared fell into the “Earnest and Opinion” category. Here’s what the mag wrote about JustJared.com:

Score!!!!!! Interestingly enough, Vanity Fair chose Angelina Jolie as this blog’s icon. Hmmm, wonder why!!!!!

That’s great news. Even if you post annoying ‘celebs’ like Lauren Conrad or ‘Zanessa’, the range in celebrities you post here is great and you’re never judgmental. You’re also not annoyingly nice is a patronising way!

I remember seeing Guli’s name and wondering if that was a Turkish name. I had never ever posted on any blog on the internet, but I just had to come out of lurking and ask her if she was Turkish. She said yes, and I introduced myself and started posting. I can’t believe it has almost been three years. We’ve gone through so much together. The most fun time was in May’06 when we were anxiously waiting for the birth of Shiloh..and the following celebration. The saddest time was when Elena’s sons were killed in a car crash. So many memories..

long story short. was in London and traveling Europe most of 2007 so i didn’t have time to read comments. and there was just lots of craziness on JJ that i stepped away for a long break. i still checked JJ everyday, just not the comments. but now i’ve got more time so i’ve been lurking for the past months. glad to return, but i’ve never been a great poster anyways. PT’s comments alone are worth coming back for.

I’m having a miserable time dealing with this heat wave - between my asthma and chronic allergies, in this heat wave, it’s pure hell…..I have literally become a walking billboard for allergy medications.
I’m so jealous of you going up to the shore. Hi guli, how are u? Thanks for the shoutout. And girl, please give us a warning before we click on the Brad link. I almost passed out when I saw that DAMMMMNNN HOTTT BODY. Whew, i’m still trying to cool off.
I guess when everyone tried to be different to get noticed and be a success in the blogsphere, some chose to be negative in their by-line, often insulting the subjects he/she is writing about. Some doodles on the subjects’ faces, others preferred headline grabbing caption in a effort to draw attention.
But Jared, choose to be at least professional and just describe/depict his subjects in descriptive language, devoid of hate.
In the end, it pays off for Jared, because most decent posters/people like his blog/site. And he got recognized for that!

I read your blog because you are a compassionate human being. I used to go to TMZ and Perez Hilton…they just down right mean, ignorant , and unkindly. I finally said enough. By the way, I ordered Vanity Fair with Angelina Jolie on it, right after you had put it on your blog. I never order magazines and rarely read them. I am sure their sales skyrocketed after you posted it. I also ordered Entertainment Weekly, in hopes of getting the mag with the latest Jolie interview.

first and last post, i will always remember you with great affection. when i posted here that my dad was going into hospice and i was really frightened and unsure what it entailed ,you extended yourself to me and gave detailed explanation of what i could expect. you gave me great comfort. you don’t know me but you showed great compassion and i will always remember that. i assumed because my dad was ill for a while that i was prepared. i was wrong. i have such a hollow feeling and great hurt. i have some peace because i know he with God. he was such an amazing man. i had such love from the moment i took my first breath. at the viewing a man came on stood on the periphery and then came to my mom and told her he had learned to fly a bonanza from my dad when he was so young and he never forgot his kindness and that had been thirty five years ago and just came to pay his respects. that was very meaningful. thank you for the beautiful poem. i have been so blessed by the support from the wonderful people at jj. with much gratitude, vicki

I have educated myself from different aspects and cultures, especially the Jolie and Pitt’s family in the past 2 years. I post on other threads to support Jared and his fun site, but this is why the Email Group didn’t allow the loonies when we want to celebrate Brad and Angie. Even with the Email Group, we still support Jared, but so many of us just have to roll our eyes at some of the people on here.
It’s good to see some old names. Where’s Passing Through — she’s the coolest, funniest and most informed poster on Jared’s threads! Love seeing The Real Lou’s sensible and intelligent posts, and Lylian always makes you think about what she says, and then feel strongly about it with equal pleasure. Such great people Jared has attracted and drawn together. Piper with a Low is another great poster. So many…. They surely outnumber the very few weirdos who are so insignificant in comparison.

IMO…..In house bickering is the most unattractive part of JJ’s..
there are so many great fans new and old, so many do lurk
