PETA, of course, couldn’t sit on this one. As soon they saw Jessica Simpson proudly wearing her “REAL GIRLS EAT MEAT” shirt, they fired back!
PETA listed the top 5 reasons why only stupid girls brag about eating meat. Here are two of them:
– Meat increases the risk of breast cancer. A 2007 study of 35,000 women published in the British Journal of Cancer found that women who ate meat were far more likely to develop breast cancer than women who consumed none. Will Jessica’s next t-shirt will say, “Real Girls Smoke 3 Packs a Day”?
– Meat will make you fat. All the saturated fat and cholesterol in chicken wings, pork chops, and steak eventually leads to flabby thighs and love handles. I hope the upcoming “Jessica Simpson’s Intimates” line comes in plus sizes! Going vegetarian is the best way to get slim and stay that way.

The problem I have with extreme groups like PETA, Greenpeace, etc. is that they feel the need to force their personal opinions on others through humiliating, degrading, and just good old fashion bullying tactics. I know plenty of vegetarians who are NOT thin or healthy looking! “Meat will make you fat” - what a uneducated and stupid statement - veggies will make you fat too if you eat enough of them, but who the h*** wants to eat rabbit food all day long. So according to their statement, they care more about cows than they do “plus size” people - that is a very cruel thing to say.

Actually, I think it is the hormones in meat that cause breast cancer not the meat itself. If you were to eat grass-fed meat with no antibiotics or hormones added, the meat diet wouldn’t be so unhealthy. Of course, that would require PETA to either do research or tell the whole truth. Definitely not that group’s strong suit.

I’m a vegetarian myself and I think that all people that are saying that there’s nothing wrong with eating meat don’t know how cruel it is for those animals.
There are so many kinds of food, it’s really easy to just eat something else instead of meat! Why do animals have to be killed for your food? Because you like it so much? Come on!!

WOW. PETA just ostracized a huge demographic by claiming that eating meat makes you fat. The implication that a plus-size lingerie line is a negative outcome of her carnivorous appetite is appalling - “Go ahead humans, have incredibly low self-esteem! as long as animals remain uneaten.” (HELLO, PETA: Flabby thighs and love handles is now called “curvy” to those who are P.C. and a very celebrated state of being in Dove ads.)
… Not that Jessica Simpson has EVER in ANY WAY promoted high self-esteem.

Cow **** is the no1 source of CO2 emission in NZ. So yes, meat industries DO have substantial impact where dairy/meat is a major industry. Plus, mass farming is also a reason for deforestation. Eating meat isn’t bad. It’s just the LEVEL of eating we’re doing it these days. Think about it: how many Wendys/KFC/Burger King/McDs are there on a street in town? And going further, doesn’t the idea of creatures being BRED to be KILLED for YOUR MEALS kind of sicken you? The comment re smear campaign of PETA.. you hit the nail on the head. This brainless woman needs to get buried from the news. If she wants to eat meat than by all means she should eat meat.
