the whole gun issue is getting tedious. my aunt would not let my cousin play with toy guns, swords, army men anything of the sort. well guess what he did, he made his own out of anything he could get his hands on. kids play pretend. ALL kids. as a mom if my child drew something anything and it was made in to a piece of jewelry for me i would wear it proudly. anyone wanting to make an issue about this is showing who they are not who angelina, maddox and brad are.

Celebrations, lights, action: World Refugee Day 2008

GENEVA, June 13 (UNHCR) – From Australia through ancient Rome to the Americas, people around the globe will take part in the most ambitious and spectacular World Refugee Day (WRD) celebrations ever over the coming week.

With “Protection” as this year’s global theme, UNHCR and its partners, including governments, donors, non-governmental organizations, Angelina Jolie and other Goodwill Ambassadors and refugees themselves, will stage a wide range of activities, including light shows, photography exhibitions, film festivals, lectures, panel discussions, food bazaars, fashion shows, concerts and sports competitions.

There will also be quizzes, drawing and essay-writing competitions, tree planting, seminars, workshops, speeches, public awareness campaigns and poetry recitals, while UNHCR will recreate refugee camp life in around 20 capitals around the world.

Aside from these showcase events aimed at raising money and awareness in major cities and donor nations, more modest but equally enthusiastic events are planned at refugee camps and settlements for internally displaced people in the run up to World Refugee Day and on the day itself, June 20.

The High Commissioner will spend World Refugee Day itself attending a ceremony at the University of Nairobi after visiting Somali refugees in north-east Kenya on Wednesday and internally displaced Kenyans the following day.

UNHCR’s Deputy High Commissioner L. Craig Johnstone will lead World Refugee Day celebrations in the United States, attending a public ceremony and a film screening at the National Geographic Museum in Washington D.C. Johnstone will also present a Humanitarian of the Year Award to Sudan-born Chicago Bulls basketball star Luol Deng. The former refugee has in the past year become a key supporter of UNHCR’s ninemillion.org campaign, which promotes education and sport for refugee children.

Other celebrity supporters of UNHCR in the United States will be helping to promote the theme of protection. A special message from UNHCR Goodwill Ambassador Angelina Jolie will be released on video-sharing website YouTube around the world next Wednesday, while Deng will invite YouTubers and Facebook users to join an online campaign to “Give Refugees a Hand.”

The messages by Jolie and Deng are examples of how UNHCR is using social utilities and new media to reach out to the online community and to get people involved.

CORRENS, France (Reuters) - The new game in Correns, a village in Provence suddenly hit by media frenzy since Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie moved into a nearby villa, is to make up stories about the couple for the paparazzi.

You will be treated to a free glass of pastis if you can get a particularly silly story published, mischievous residents said, declining to be named.

Pitt and Jolie, who is pregnant with twins, are staying at the sprawling Miraval domain, near Correns, where they enjoy 400 hectares (almost 1,000 acres) of woods and vineyards, a gorgeous 17th century villa, a swimming pool and helicopter pad.

News of their arrival with their four children has drawn paparazzi from all over the world who now engage in a daily game of cat-and-mouse with security guards under strict instructions to protect the family’s privacy.

“They came here to find some peace and instead there are paparazzi at the gate day and night, it’s really unbearable. There are always five or six motorbikes and cars ready to launch into a chase,” said Christine, a sympathetic local winemaker.

Rumor has it in the village that decoy limousines with black-tinted windows exit the property every so often to lure the photographers away, while the couple known as “Brangelina” travel only by helicopter.

For residents of Correns, the horde of reporters and other visitors keen to catch sight of the A-list Hollywood stars has provided entertainment — and some extra business.

“It’s bringing business because people are a little curious. For now there’s a lot of hype, it’s going to be good for the next few weeks and after that we’ll see,” said Onno Stijl, a chef at the Auberge du Parc hotel and restaurant. Less impressed are the local hunting enthusiasts, who say the Miraval domain is prime territory for boar and who fear tense encounters with the Pitt-Jolie security guards when the season starts on August 15.

“We have the proper authorizations and everything,” said a local hunter, pre-empting any possible objection to the annual shooting fest in the Miraval woods.

Does anyone in their right mind still believe anything in In Touch or Life & Stlye that they print about Brad and Angie? Well I guess the answer is right here on this thread. There are a lot of not well people out there, for example ” realistic, jane and others”. I would use a different word but I don’t want to be blocked.

She doesn’t only look like Angie, she’s also got the attitude of not suffering fools gladly. Padma looks so fragile and nice but she can also be a potty mouth, LOL.

She’s an author, a model, an actress and a chef. If Angelina had to be compared with someone, I would rather it be her.

You want her to grin while sending this message.In case you didn’t hear her she’s remembering refugees who didn’t come back home,some died ,some are still in other countries and some returned home.To me she looks fantastics and I think she’ll have the babies in 2 weeks.Her face is full and lips are swollen just like a woman in her last days of pregnancy.
