Angelina Jolie Celebrates World Refugee Day
Since early 2001, Angelina Jolie has traveled the world as a Goodwill Ambassador to UNHCR, The UN Refugee Agency. On World Refugee Day, she pays tribute to the forcibly uprooted and to the people who protect them.
Here’s what Angie, who is expecting twins with Brad Pitt this summer, says in her PSA:
“They have survived war, they have survived displacement, they have survived rape, they have survived hunger and disease. For those who have survived and for those who did not, we are thinking of you on this day.”
Friday, June 20 is World Refugee. Visit UNHCR.org to get involved.

And also, in my country there was a war, almost 17 years ago, I was a little girl when they seperate me from my parents, I had to leave my town but my parent could not be with me, and I was a refugee.
So all you haters shuold be ashamed for behaving like this, it so wrong! You are joking about things you have no idea, just because Aniston does not care about refugees in the world, you could be better person than her and admit that this thing that Angelina does for UNHCR is amazing and beautiful thing!
I miss them…no news pics for a long time..
tina, i am so sorry you went through that. i hope you have been reunited with your family.
Good Angelina… keep on this way… you are such a beauty God’s instrument to help his beloved suffering people.
May God bless you and your family.
And may God bless all people in need.
MTV: This is your first action flick since “Mr. & Mrs. Smith.” I would think it’s a little different rolling around with James McAvoy than with Brad?
Jolie: Well, you know Brad was … [Laughs.] I’ll always prefer rolling around on the floor with him than any other man. You know, in general. [Laughs.]
Hi to the JP fans out there!!! Listen, we have to ignore the trolls coming here and trashing our beloved Angie. They’re at their wits end firguring out ways to demoralize Angie. But the truth and actions speak louder than words. Angie has done humantarian works since 2001!!!!. Imagine at age 26, she has shown such maturity and depth and compassion more than any starlets has ever known. And now, 7 years later, her commitment to the cause has not wavered.
Personally, I admire her greatly as a human being. She’s my hero!!
God bless her and her family!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
On another note, can’t wait for WANTED!!!!!!!!!!!!
On people saying being pregnant is bad for one’s sex life: “No, I think it’s quite the opposite. It’s great for the sex life. It just makes you a lot more creative. So you have fun, and as a woman you’re just so round and full.”
On Brad’s new tattoo: “I drew that. We went to Davos. It’s not that we were bored at the World Economic Forum, but one night we didn’t have anything to do, so I was drawing on his back.”
On being pregnant with twins: “I love it. It makes me feel like a woman. It makes me feel that all the things about my body are suddenly there for a reason. It makes you feel round and supple, and to have a little life inside you is amazing. Also, I’m fortunate. I think some women have a different experience depend-ing on their partner. I think that affects it. I happen to be with somebody who finds pregnancy very sexy. So that makes me feel very sexy.”
And some believe that celebrities’ personal lives are personal, and paparazzi or not, the stars and their families deserve to be left alone. “A celebrity’s personal life is their business and not for public consumption,” said Pubicist D, who has a roster of A-list clients. “Unless they conceived the baby on the street, it’s no one’s business. That’s why people are starting to stop confirming when they’re pregnant even when they’re showing. There is so little to hang on to that is personal.”

Yes, after the war, they survived, thank God, our house was destroyed, but we were alive and we were grateful for that!
I usually don’t comment here, sometimes I do, but because my english is not very good, I just read comments! But I could not just read those evil comments on such important thing as World Refugee Day because I was once the girl who received the help from UNHCR!
I don’t hate Aniston, I just think, and I allways thought that she is a bad actress, allways doing the same role, and I allways thought that as a famous and rich person she is not doing anything for others, she is allways helping when there are TV-cameras around her. Just don’t like her, it is her life, her money, but I don’t like her and also here in Europe she is not that famous, people know her only from Friends!
I allways loved Angelina, allways, and the fact that she works for UNHCR is the best thing about her!
thanks JJ;)
Talk of the Tabs
Tabs Come Undone Over Angelina’s Preggy-Sex Talk
This week’s glossies are made possible by a grant from Entertainment Weekly! EW sat down with the world’s most famous humanitarian uterus, Angelina Jolie, and came away with gold. Angie’s marquee quote: “Pregnancy is great for the sex life. It just makes you a lot more creative,” found its way into all the weekly warriors. But there were enough ear-catching statements in the interview for each of the tabs to hobble together a cover.
Using the same trick it did with Angie’s Vanity Fair interview a few weeks ago, Us simply pulls quotes puts them in colorful boxes. We especially enjoy the way they slap on little cutout Angelina heads with different emotions. On pregnancy sex: big smiling Angie head. On the Election: more solemn smiley head. On family bedtime: laughing head.
Life & Style, meanwhile, hones in on Angie’s thoughts on second ex-hubby Billy Bob Thornton. “I still love him dearly and think the world of him, and I’m proud to have been his wife for a time,” she tells EW. The Bauer Bunch digs up an add that Angelina took out in Variety in 2004 (two years after she and Billy Bob divorced and stopped wearing vials of each other’s blood), which proclaimed, “I love your brilliant mind.” Throw in an “insider”/friend-of-a-friend-of-one-of-the-old-nannies saying that Angie hates it when Brad talks about his exes, add water, stir and you’ve got yourself a “Brad is reeling with jealousy” story!
Star and In Touch take the EW quotes where Ange worries that having twin girls (due next week or August depending on which weekly you read) will offset the balance of power in the home, and the mags spin these into panicked the cover stories: Angelina: I’m Scared! and Crisis at Home!, respectively. And the award for weirdest of the weeklies goes to In Touch’s info box where media *****/psychologist Dr. Drew Pinsky questions if Angelina is still shooting smack. “I’ve never seen someone remit heroin completely. You’re either still on heroin, OxyContin or something else unless you’re dead.” Um, okay, but you know with all those kids and all that creative pregnancy sex we submit that Angie should switch to an upper.
Seemingly apropos of nothing, OK! takes the EW quotes, adds a dash of the Vanity Fair interview, throws in an interview with Barbara Walters, and decides that Brad and Angie are planning to adopt a boy from Africa. Next week they’ll take a quote about Angie being a registered independent and fashion it into “Angelina Jolie adopting John McCain.”
tina, i am glad you posted today. i am so glad your family survived. a lot of people post here that english is not their first language. you would be very welcome. on this issue a person doesn’t even have to be an angelina fan to recognize she is doing a good thing.

someone here calls “go kill yourself” freedom of speech. this happens in a country that holds hundreds of detainees in a prison with no rights whatsoever human or otherwise and uses torture while interrogating them, but of course if a poor 3rd world country does the same it thunders and threatens. Too much politics? I am just surprised that a psychotic woman pushes a minor to kill herself becomes “freedom of speech”. Long live Uncle Sam!

all of you are missing allot of information that is missing from this article. if you look up older ones you will see the full story.
the family that had there daughter commit suicide did allot more damage then drew lori did. the idiot’s father drove donuts in her yard and pit the whole neighborhood against the drew family , that is NOT a ok thing. they had to set up security cameras to catch such offenses so they would have evidence to back it up. if you read the full story you will think megan’s family is more screwed up. i mean come on if i remember right the drew’s family was partly broke up due to the stress from these idiots.
i agree the whole thing from the beginning, the suicide and everything is a very bad thing for everyone but that is in the past, you can not only focus on that specific incident, the best thing to do is look at the side of both family’s… then post your comments here.
also if you read articles from when this topic was fresh, you will find megan tried suicide several times before and was having serious issues so it piratically anything could have possibly caused her to commit suicide.

This woman is stupid. She is also pychotic, mentally challenged.
She shouldn’t go to prison for a few years.
She should go to a mental institution till her death.

I see everyones point of view but I have to say this woman deserves to pay for a crime in this nature. This woman is 49 years old and harassed a 13 year old girl because she believed this girl was some how harassing her daughter. This is what is being said on the news. Though why harass this girl playing as someone else and leading them on in such a hurtful way. To me thats not mature. For the actions this woman took she does deserve to be charged and punished for those actions. For being charged with murder that is most likely not going to happen or assisted suicide. Not saying she might not deserve that but logically its not going to happen. They would have to prove she knew the 13 year old girl would kill herself to have that charge stick. And for all we know she had no idea for sure on that. Also that is the hardest thing to prove. It is a terrible thing. Also that person who used the name Jim here yeah one comment to you; you have a sick sense of humor.

I hope this women get what is comming to her!! What she did is child abuse.
As far as her child being bullied, as a mother she should have acted like an adult instead of a child and handled the situation. She can throught out ANY excuse but it doen’t change the fact that her ( a adult ) actions lead to a childs death.
I don’t think a few years in prison would hurt her maybe she would finilly understand what her actions has caused.

Re:
the internet is the right place to pretend being someone else. where else?
and what happens to free speech if you can’t say to someone “go kill yourself
Yomgui, pretending to be someone else on the internet is one thing, pretending to be someone else on a site that specifically forbids this altogether is another. That’s why they make you sign the contract when you join myspace.
If they’re charging this woman with harrassment, she probably was intimidating and berating the girl for some time before the “world would be a better place” comments drove the girl to suicide.
This woman deserves to be charged. The internet is not some magical world where you aren’t held responsible for what you do.

What I find truly incredible in this thread is that there are people who claim this to be under freedom of speech. But the fact that this women falsely led this child into believing that “Josh Evans” had a particular love interest in her and there proceeded to disown her completely, just shows how messed up of a woman she is. It’s difficult to believe that society has come to the point where we as fellow human beings taunt each other to the point of serious psychological damage for no true reason at all, but unfortunately that is the current state of humanity. This woman should be convicted of the charges and locked away for life.

n,clinqua only bashes jen hens who are worthless SOBs
I am stunned at the level of ignorance and immaturity of the hater or haters on this thread. It truly boggles the mind. I feel sorry for the parents who created people with such black hearts. I would love to gather you up and drop you in one of the refugee camps that Angie visited as part of a permanent exchange program. Preferably Al Waleed in Iraq or Oure-Cassoni in Chad. But I would feel bad for the refugees who would be stuck with your sorry ass.
Thanks Jared for the new thread. Waves and best wishes to the JP fans.
what a wonderful woman …LOVE her

i;m not even sure why you brought all of this to the angelina thread but since you did and since you are trying to compare apples and oranges i will reply. there is a vast difference in cliniqua responding to other adults who come to this site and say things to get a response and a grown woman seeking out a kid with the sole purpose of humiliation and bullying. how you would draw a parallel is beyond me.
