Jamie Lynn Spears: Welcome Maddie Briann!
Jamie Lynn Spears and fiance Casey Aldridge are proud parents of Maddie Brian, reports E!.
Their beautiful daughter was born at the Mississippi Southwest Regional Medical Center in McComb, Miss. just after 9:30am.
Jamie, 17 and Casey, 19, were joined at the hospital by her parents around 5:45am. Sister Britney and brother Bryan arrived around 8. It is the first child for the happy couple.

You can insult her all you want, it is an extremly mature decision to put her life on hold and own up to a mistake that she made rather than having an abortion or putting the child up for adoption. It’s a brave thing to do, and the right thing. I’m pro-choice, but I still know right and wrong, and Jamie-lynn made the right choice. I hope that she and Casey make it through these trying times.

Funny, I was a young wife (at 18) and a young mom (at 19). I’ve been VERY happily married to my military man for over five years now. Funny, I’m an incapable “young idiot who is/was still a child” yet my husband fights for your right to say such ignorant things.
I’ve seen 30 and 40 year old new mom’s who were terrible to their children. The same women who would rather work than spend time with their babies not because they need the money but because “they couldn’t stand to have to deal with their brats all day”. I’ve heard that one a time or two. Hurrah for granny moms, still? I think not. I would rather still be coherent when my child is 16 and still be capable of taking care of him properly. I would also love to be able to be around for my grandchildren. It would be selfish of me not to.

It’s a huge, ignorant leap to assume they didn’t use birth control. I have known of three people personally who were on the pill, using condoms, or both, and STILL wound up pregnant. Some people (and families) are extremely fertile. 17-year-olds are having sex, and she just happened to be one who wound up pregnant. She made the best of a bad situation.

I believe that Jamie Lynn should have waited until she was older to become a mother. I dont believe that is is ok to promote teen pregnancy, though there is nothing wrong with it..(as long as you can provide for the child and yourself) It is a big responsibility and it is very difficult, but it is still possible to have a child at a young age and accomplish your life dreams. I know from my own experiences. I just hope that every mother young or old knows that once you have a child they are number one priority and there isnt all fun and games when you want it. When are the younger generation going to wake up. I know If my daughter came home at 17 and said to me she werer pregnant. I will have been mad . THis is alot for a parent to deal with when u the child still has to be taken care of ,now another child. I say this becaus emy daughter is four and she thinks the work of (Zoey) Jamie lynn character . What is a parent to tell there three, four or even sixteen year child?? To all the parents out there when is going to end?

I agree with Jai-Lee…thousands were getting pregnant before Jamie Lynn, her pregnancy will not have any effect on the number of teens pregnancies after hers. Unfortunately, we are almost in another baby boom and its mostly the younger crowd. Jamie Lynn can not be held responsible for the choice teens make after her pregnancy. I can just see it now, a Jamie Lynn fan is going to get pregnant and the parents are going to somehow turn around and blame it on Jamie….HELLO WHERE ARE THE PARENTS AT????? WHY NOT TAKE SOME BLAME IN THIS?????!!!!! YOU TOO HAVE A MAJOR EFFECT ON THE CHOICES YOUR CHILDREN MAKE!! But the thing is that even “role models” are not going to help, teens are going to make their decisions despite what anyone says.

Whats funny, is when any other teen gets pregnant, people just roll their eyes and turn the other way, now that its a celebrity, its this huge scandal, as if the world has never heard of it before. Get over it, you have all known about it for nine months, and you still act shocked. Not to say I would be thrilled if one of my kids were having a baby, I wouldn’t, however I would have to get passed that to support them to help them make the right decisions from then on out. Jamie and Casey have a baby girl now, and that was their choice. You couldn’t stop them. If my daughter ever came home and told me that she was pregnant at the age of 16, It would be a shocker, but I would be delighted as long as their priorites are straight. In this case, they are going to be wonderful parents. I can see it already :)

this is mostly directed towards “have we all gone crazy?” im not promoting teen pregnancy, but give the girl a break. shes not the first teen to ever get pregnant. and why is everyone blaming jamie lynn? last i checked it took two to do this deed. casey isn’t exactly innocent. everyone makes mistakes. accidents happen. put yourself in her shoes. its going to be a lot easier for her because she wont have financial worries. but that doesnt mean she meant for this to happen. i give her credit. she admitted it to the world. and from what i have read she is a really good mother. she makes people tie their hair back and wash their hands before holding the baby. and as for britney…maybe is we gave her some space she wouldnt be crazy like this. good lord.

Jamie Lynn is dead. I kno someone thats friends with her. She had fallen off an old english horse as the horse got up on its back two legs and flipped her off leaving her with brain damage and as they were rushing her to hospital she died. Brittney is taking half the care with Jamie’s Fiancee.
