Halle Berry Tops Fave “Cougar” List
Halle Berry totes around a Versace handbag as she spends an hour at a friend’s house in Hollywood on Friday afternoon.
The 41-year-old actress recently topped The Women on The Web’s list of “Favorite Cougars”. (A cougar is a 35+ female who is on the “hunt” for a much younger male.) Here’s who topped the list:
1. Jennifer Aniston, 39, who is dating musician John Mayer, 30.
2. Halle Berry, 41, who has a child with model Gabriel Aubry, 31.
3. Demi Moore, 45, who is married to Ashton Kutcher, 30.

The problem is, we do have a phrase for men who date younger women and that’s “Dirty Old Man”. However, for that phrase to be fitting, the guy usually has to be *substantially* older. 20 years or more, I’d say. I mean, look at Clooney. The man almost always dates someone 15 or more years younger than him and people rarely bat an eye.
However, now that women are becoming more open about relationships with younger men (face it: it’s been happening for awhile, but it’s only now become a big deal in the media), we now have given them a nice little label.
The problem is, the ages differences between these couples wouldn’t be a big deal at all if the roles were reversed. I mean, come on. Jennifer is only nine years older than John Mayer. If the roles were reversed, we would not be putting a tag on John.

Maybe, maybe not. There is a scientific proven fact that averagely female tend to mature physically and emotionnaly faster than men.
Babygirls tend to be less fragile than babyboys in terms of health and are more combattive. teengirls go to physical and emotional changes 3 to 4 years younger than their male counterparts. It’s a scientifically proven fact and culturally universally historic than women have the mental age of men older than themselves rarely the other way around.
We are equal but not the same physically and mentally. That’s why what is perceived good for a man is not always the case for a woman and vice versa, the same way a man can go bare chested and shows his nipples in public but not a woman ! The same way it is still odd and manless perceived seeing a woman taking care financilly of his man…not the other way around.
It is sexist they women who date younger men get some sort of label.

I agree with the ages differences. Ten years seems like another generation and is still problematic for most women.
like I said men tend to be more juvenile in mental age so a man who’s 30 is in par with a woman’s who is 20. When he dates a woman who is 10 years older than him, let’s say 40, he could also date women who are half her age.
Also, there is the couple and the entourage. Unlike women, men tend to have male friends their generation, friends who dates younger partners. The older partner may feel unease when in that entourage.
Also there is a psychological pattern that says women who date much older men tend to look for a father and for men, they tend to look for a mother and society tend to accept more a little girl’s dad than a man who’s still looking for a mum in a woman.
Because of all this I think that many women won’t date younger men, even men who are 8, 10 years younger because as they age (and women tend to age faster), they have to deal with women who are 20 years younger than themselves. It’ doesn’t matter when they still in their 40 and beautiful but when they reach 50 and age…

The hunting cougar is not so glamorous as all that. She might just happen to like guys in that age range. The sad mad bad part of it is that we do age and manboys are, as a rule, so visual. Getting dumped because you aren’t as attractive anymore really hurts. The French have a saying that woman dies twice, the first time is when she realizes she’s lost her youthful beauty.
Then you have to dig down deep and remember all the other parts of the package that make you attractive. And learn to appreciate aging men.

Your analysis of Jennifer and John in term of maturity are more emotional rather than objective. Have you done any clinical observations on these two subjects or are you basing your assumptions from what you read from tabloids? Informations extracted from tabloids are not acceptable materials for scientific analysis. I hope you know that.
These are assumptions that should be checked thoroughly before making analysis. You need to check your assumptions based on facts derived from clinical observations and interviews. They are:-
1. That JA the “huntress”, has not exhibited maturity.
2. That the 30 year old Mayer maturity is questionable.
3. That their level of maturity is a wide fissure
4. That neither JA or JM can ever bridge the difference in their level of maturity.

We, as a culture, is obssesed with youthful beauty. Perhaps as we age, wisdom sets in. But there are those, for whatever reasons, wisdom alludes them.

2. the branch of biology dealing with the relations or interactions between body and behavior, as exhibited in the nervous system, receptors, effectors, neurotransmitters, or the like. It’s a proven medical fact that a prolonged and sustained psychological traumas [emotional distress, divorce etc] will predictably impair the brain/nervous system’s cognitive processes.
Aniston’s bizarre behavior - level of maturity and coping mechanisms are outside the normal curve. In JA’s case, her psychological trauma affected her brain functions. How else can you explain her bizarre sexual behaviour ? Psychological impairment gradually affecting the Nervous System.

My field is Trauma Medicine - to be specific, I am a Trauma Surgeon. Conversely to JA’s case, many battered women sustained grave physical trauma. There is no way a man of his age early 30’s would still be called for on the catwalk, he got that assignment because of his girlfriend.
