David Archuleta: Wall-E Idol!
American Idol alum David Archuleta arrives at the world premiere of Disney-Pixar’s film Wall-E, held at the Greek Theater in Los Angeles on Friday.
The 17-year-old singer will be hitting the American Idols Live! Tour this summer and his dad Jeff will be on the tour bus with his son and the other top five guys! David’s dad was banned from going backstage during the final weeks of American Idol amidst some controversy. Fellow American Idol Carly Smithson recently asked Michael Johns if anyone on the guy’s bus snores and he responded to David, “Only your dad!”.
The American Idol Live! Tour 2008 kicks off on July 1 in Glendale, Ariz., hometown of AI alum Brooke White.

How would you feel if people kept printing crap about your dad. Anyone would be doing the best to protect their children’s best interest.

Thank you for continuing to give David the exposure he so deserves. He is the best thing that has happened to music in this country and around the world in a VERY LONG TIME!!!! He has a voice that reaches in and grabs your soul and your heart and just doesn’t let go. He’s a beautiful person on the inside. Hollywood needs more Archies!!! :0
#19-It really is a shame that you could “hate” anyone, especially David. Perhaps if you GOT David, you wouldn’t hate anymore. See, that’s the effect he has on so many people. He makes people want to be better inside. I’m sorry you aren’t one of the lucky ones that get him. He has changed my life and the lives of so many others for the better.

You guys should not waste your time responding to David haters. A lot of people are going to say negative things because he is so young and so talented. It’s called jealousy. He is going to be very rich very soon and that kills some people:) He is the reason I bought tickets to the Idols Tour. When his CD comes out it will be the first time I ever buy a CD from any Idol contestant even though I’ve enjoyed many people in previous years. The vast majority of these posts are very nice and supportive anyway.

Selfish or not, I seriously doubt that dorky David Archuleta is going to be any bigger than he ever got on that show. And in my opinion, that was way over the top. Like I said, he was way overrated. And he has no appeal to the average fan — just crazy-ass teenyboppers like you guys.

Visit any of the Idol forums and you’ll discover that his fans are just as enthused about his entry into the music business as they were at the beginning of the Idol season. Need I remind anyone not liking the hat that teenagers typically experiment with their style til they find one that fits. 17 and 18 year olds especially try to look older,being on the cusp of adulthood. Personally I like the hat. He looks so Rat Pack.
Anyone hating on this kid really needs therapy to look at their anger issues, cause obviously something is being triggered in them that has nothing to do with David at all.

First, David Cook has stated that he’s looking forward to having Mr. Archuleta on the bus. It’s not DA’s fault that the “Dad” rumor got started, or that the media won’t let it go. Don’t diss DA because of the media.
He’s an absolute sweetheart of a kid, who’s great about staying in touch with his fans. He has done nothing to deserve the negative press, and he would never think of doing to others what has been done to him. I’m extremely proud to be an Archie fan.
You don’t have to like him. If not, just say “I don’t like him”, and go on with your life. But to truly hate him and to try and defame him?
(1) It’s your loss. You’re missing out on getting to know someone truly special.
(2) It’s your problem. To have that much hatred toward anybody shows the rest of the us that you have issues to work out in your life, and they have nothing to do with Archuleta. David wasn’t your first target, and he wont’ be the last. Hopefully someday you’ll grow up and understand.

David is incredibly wonderful - as a singer and most especially as a person. His talent is HUGE. He is natural , no pretentions. To those haters - you are missing so much by letting hatred fill your heart. Learn to appreciate so you won’t feel miserable all your life.

WOOT! David is the personification of the word versatile! All those non-fans out there keep insulting him for being one-dimensional but if you look at all his performances on AI with insight, you’ll see that he can honestly, absolutely, literally sing ANYTHING. Any genre at all. Loved his take on OnerRepublic’s Apologize! If we look at him objectively and logically, he’s really every music producer’s dream- he has sooooooo much potential and such marketability! He doesn’t yet have a defined genre which means he is not going to be confined to only a particular style of music. He’s so young- recording companies can practically have him work in all the different types of music which can capture all kinds of audience- imagine how much they can actually cash in on him. And the BEST part is as he gets older, he’d only get even better and greater! He’s got a quiet, mature and intelligent kind of style to him- clean-cut but with his own personal touch. Just love it that he is really true to himself! And the world should know there are heaps of rockers outthere, singers who sing absolute nonsense with no intellectual understanding of either music and lyrics BUT there will ever only be ONE AMAZING DAVID ARCHULETA! The music industry should make full use of his talent as this kind of prodigenous musical talent does not come every other century! The WORLD IDOL- DAVID ARCHULETA! CHEERS FOR US!

I agree with celeste. If you don’t like David A., don’t read about him or look at pictures of him! Don’t you have anything better to do with your time than read about someone you don’t like and then post negative comments about him? You guys are the losers. And to hate on David A. of all people makes you even more pathetic. He is the nicest guy around. He doesn’t have to be your favorite singer, but you don’t have to be rude and hateful either. But I guess a person that is happy, nice, respectful and decent would turn you off since you obviously possess none of those qualities and can’t relate to them at all.

I’ve watched Idol for a while now and I have to say David A stands out by a mile to me from previous contestants and a lot of my friends and family agree. He is far from “ordinary” and I hate how some people try to brush him off as that. I’ve been a fan of his from his audition and unlike many people, I did not switch to David C halfway through the season. David has a great career in front of him and he is one of the only celebrities that really takes the time to get to know and meet his fans which shows so much character.
ps: I don’t know what age is considered a “teenybopper” but I’m a high schooler so if that’s a teenybopper then i say more power to us!

He has me listening to popular music after a lapse of more than 20 years. When I heard him sing “Angels”, “I’ll Be” and the Christmas songs from school and church as a 14-16 year old, my jaw dropped. I decided that if there was beauty in the world like THAT and I wasn’t listening, I was a fool! No longer! Am loving popular music now all thanks to David!

David Archuleta is so popular, even more popular than the winner Cook. David has been in the top 100 celebrity ranking ever since his face showed up on the Idol stage. Cook’s name was never on there. Cook fans, you really need to get his name up there too with David A. People talk about David A a lot more than Cook. When people compare the two, they always come out saying, Oh yeah, David Cook won but David A still is the better singer, which really stings if you are a Cook fan. The fact that the media is still talking about David A means that people want more of him. There are so many people who are devout Archuleta fans and they are determined to not let David A down again just like at the finale.
Good luck to both David A and David C. They seem to be good friends and that’s a good thing. I hope they give out their best performances at the tour. I’m sure that David A would always do his best because that’s just the kind of person he is. I’m sure Cook would too. I hope they don’t get to fatigued with their constant singing.
