Vanessa Hudgens is featured in the August 2008 issue of CosmoGirl. Check out her interview to see what a day in the life of Vanessa is like and what her and boyfriend Zac Efron are really like.
Newsweek also did a (stupid) interview with Vanessa. (It’s the same interviewer who was completely unprofessional with Clay Aiken.) Here are some excerpts:
“HSM” director Kenny Ortega once told me you and Zac Efron started dating on the first “High School Musical,” and I don’t think I’ve ever heard that story. And I’m going to keep it that way.
You’re not going to tell me? No. Only because I don’t want to talk about it. It might hurt the relationship. That’s something I have to myself.
So, is it hard to go on dates? No. We do what we want.
Are the reports true that Zac doesn’t like to shower? That’s the stupidest thing I’ve ever heard. Whoever came up with that is completely idiotic.
Because when I met him, he smelled perfectly fine. He showers! He showers! Believe me, he does.
Every day? Yes! Of course.

Anyway the questions in the Newsweek interview may have been inane but Vanessa fielded them like a pro. She has come acorss as a little unpolished in some of her intereviews in the past but I think she has started to get the hang of it.

Those interviews that Newsweek does with celebrities is meant to be sarcastic and light-hearted, while poking fun at the interview subjects. It’s not heavy content, and that’s why it’s in the back of each issue. Who reads Newsweek for celebrity infotainment? Whoever doesn’t have a sense of humor comes off like a complete dolt (i.e. Clay Aiken), or it’s just a sign that their PR reps didn’t do a great job of researching the Q&A or preparing their clients.
I agree with Jared, the interview was totally unprofessional and, may I say, stupid. I’m sad because of the late appearance of this post here at JJ. It will cause hysteria again, I’m sure of it. B cannot we concentrate on the work of either Vanessa or Zac? *sigh*
I love you Jared because You mentioned her album! And people should listen to her album on the site suzy posted. It is amazing, in my opinion. A must buy for me.
And one more thing: Vanessa is beautiful on the cover. Is it only me or does she tend to wear hats more often? I’m not complaining, not at all…

#11 YOU DON’T HAVE A CRYSTAL BALL!! I don’t know where Vanessa will be in five years and neither do you. Nobody knows what roles may come her way. As far as the actresses you mention:
Evan Rachel Wood? She’s got talent I agree but she’s sucked into the bizarre and IMO self-destructive orbit of Marilyn Manson unless she breaks away from that like Rose McGowan did, you can stick a fork in her she’s done. But then again I don’t have a crystal either as a I said.
As far as Ellen Page goes unless she gives another Oscar caliber role and performance like in “Juno,” (and I suspect she will before long) I don’t know if I see her making a big splash in mainstream Hollywood. The only reason why I say that is just because I think she too specific and idiosyncratic of an actress, I see her as being more of a fixture of the Indendent scene and there’s nothing wrong with that.
In other words I don’t see her competing with Vanessa for roles. I think she’s going to go a completely different way.
Nobody knows what kind of scripts Vanessa is getting although she did turn down a role in the remake of “Prom Night,” and giving the critical and commercial drubbing that film got I would say that was a smart move on her part.
So where will Vanessa be in five years? As far as we know she just might have won an Oscar, a Tony, an Emmy and a couple of Grammys by then. Of course even if that does happen I predict you still won’t have changed your tune where she’s concerned.
Okay, I’m not usually one to be mean, but she looks really….. ugly on that magazine cover. Who chooses the cover photos? Surely there had to be one that was better than that??

i’m a big fan of vanessa’s and zac, both as a couple and as individuals, and regardless of what you may think of them, they’ve obviously figured out how to make a relationship work, something i think many of you nasty people will never achieve!
as far as the newsweek article is concerned, i think V handled the questions just fine. the fact that the “reporter” refused to take no for an answer, and she had to repeat herself does not make her rude. it makes the reporter rude.
and i’m looking forward to the cosmo girl article! although i don’t put much faith in getting any major info on her relationship with zac. i believe they are just using that as a way to garner more interest in the magazine! but a day in the life of V will be fun to read. i’m sure it will show just how hard she really does work!

zac and vanessa are filming in Utah right now. The last offical time we heard from V was a couple days so in the interview here she talked about “the last place she just filmed for hsm” (didnt want to say where, might be a spoiler for some, just look it up) but there are a lot of I would say credible reports on VABN so I’d check that out too
and while I wish they have run off to have Hawaii 2.0, I highly doubt it, seeing that they only have 7 more days to finish shooting. Bit maybe afterwards, perhaps before V leaves to tour & promote her new album? We can only hope, LOL

I agree with JJ on this post. The interviewer for Newsweek was very unprofessional and Vanessa was not about to take the bait. Call it bitchy if you want , I think she was just letting the interviewer know she was not about to fall into any traps. As far as avoiding questions about her album and movie coming out, I’m sure Vanessa realized Newsweek was only interested in stirring up trouble. Maybe to some she did come across as bitchy. I think I would be a little offended by the questions they asked too.

I wonder if any other celebrity was repeeatedly asked about bis or her significant other’s bathing habits after answering the question quite celarly the first time and got noticably annoyed would people say “what a b—- or a-hole.” Or would they say “the reporter’s an idiot?”
I personally don’t think Vanessa was rude or “mean” or any of the other thngs people are saying but IF she was I don’t blame her. How many times does she have to answer the same stupid question?
First of all everyone has a right to express themselves be it pro or con on any of these sites. Posts on particular people are designed to get a back and forth response. That being said, i will admit I am not a fan of hers and find it amusing that she brings out so much passion in people. I suppose it is in part her relationship with Zac Efron that brings out the worst and the best in people.
I personally look at actors for their pure talent and how they respect themselves and others. She is not that talented and has shown lack of self-respect. She is still very young and only time will tell if she has a lengthy career or if she tanks. Vanessa does not appear to be the sharpest tool in the shed as evidenced by her responses at times.
I predict that she and Efron will marry young and have beautiful children. As for their careers to flourish as they get older I think it’s doubtful. However if they invest wisely with this HSM stash they should live happily ever after.

They also do it together because they know it they show up alone they will not even get a response and they will be left if the dust and forgotten. What I loved about the Cosmogirl interview was her honesty, it takes grit to admit that you are still discovering who you are but are comfortable in your own skin, she mentioned that in the lyrics to Gone With The Wind, as well. Spread the love, it seems a lot of - immature - readers need it. I reread the comments and realised that it’s always the same: whenever a new thread appears these non-fans come and insult either Vanessa or us. It’s just no good. In the past few days I was wondering why I am here every day and try to convince people (not to love Vanessa but leave her alone) when the whole debate seems so pointless. Seriously, without mentioning names (they are not worth to be named), how can you reach some brain cells when all they can do is saying horrible things they have no idea about?
You are here and prove them Vanessa has loyal fans. Everytime a new thread is posted, haters/non-fans come here immediately (wondering why). But they disappear soon and only you can be found here who has beautiful ideas and huge hearts. I’m so proud of you all! You have no idea. And never let them bring you down because they are not worth it.
I stopped answering stupid comments lately because whenever you have a point you find yourself alone in the discussion because the reader who has the original comment doesn’t have the guts to come back or care about your answers. It seems that people are frustrated and give out their hatred in blogs like JJ. So in a sense coming here and saying negative or rude things is a theraphy for them. And a theraphy - if it is helpful - is a good thing. That’s why I let them give out their anger - maybe answer one or two comments that need clarification - and concentrate on our extremely talented and beautiful Vanessa Hudgens and your kind words about her. It is much more entertaining, believe me.

I work for a celeb mag in my country so I know how it works. I appreciate your comments - like “unprofessional interviewer” or “stupid” questions - but sometimes I wish you didn’t post about silly things just to have more readers. Because not everyone take their time to read your post or get the gist of your ideas. It’s not your fault, not at all. But I wish you could cause less drama or trouble. (Of course you cannot control the feelings or opinions of your readers but I’m sure you know what I mean.)
Can I ask a favour? I would like you to write something about this rude comments issue. I’m not asking for a ‘Guide How To Behave in My Blog’ kind of thing but a one-line sentence after your post like ‘No Flames’ or something like that. Probably, it won’t stop the rising amount of nasty comments but on the one hand, it will express your opinion about the harsh comments - if you care of course - and on the other hand, if you could reach one or two readers you achieved something. I do not want you to brainwash your audience but I truly believe you have to consider something like this. You can be sarcastic if you want (like ‘Let The WAR Begin’ or something like that) but I think it is right time to post a personal comment like that after the article.

Midnightwonder, do you know that as “non-natives” we are much more careful with our usage of the english language and take pains to use our commas,fullstops and apostrophies unlike many that I know of. When I was in U.k., the natives took their language for granted and often misspelled words with grammar thrown to the wind. So I commend you on your command of the English Language. I myself, am still learning. I find the English language as fascinating as it is complicating.
And yes, Suzy and Malia are 2 unfailingly dedicated fans who keep us regularly informed and up-to-date. There are many more of you but these 2 are the ever diligent, hardworking fans that no celebrity should do without, who go onto every blog/site and pitch for their fav.

I find it hard to take the haters here seriously when I have to spend have my time trying to figure out what they’re trying to say. Misspelled words, poor grammar, using words without really knowing the meanings,,then lets top it all off with foul language to make a point. The only point I see is these people really need help in more ways than one.

Very nice article by Cosmo Girl. Love how Vanessa insists on keeping her relationship with Zac private. We can all see how they really feel about each other. Like the reporter said, the way they acted together says more than any words. Just love how they support each other in their careers. I think they are in this for the long haul as I have said before. On another note, really love Vanessa’s new album. I can see why she loves it. She really does have a lovely voice. My favorites so far are Don’t Leave, Don’t Ask Why, Identified, and Paper Cut. Also like what little I’ve heard of Vulnerable, and Committed. Wish the later two were on the US version instead of the Japanese version. Oh well!

Totally agree with you I to am a mother to 3 teens and if ever I heard any of mine come out with such hate and fowl langauage that some have come out with towards to someone that they don’t know I’d personaly be ashamd of them as I’d know for sure that they had’nt been brought up that was to be so disrespectful to someone.
Like you and many other’s I love how they don’t and won’t go into deep details about their relactionship and instead treat it as something to cherish and to be kept between just them to, and if they want to hold hands, kiss, cuddle in public then that’s their choice.I perosnally don’t think we will ever see more than a quick kiss like at the game and hand holding becuase that is all they seem prepared to share with the world and good for them. I heard some samples from Vanessa’s new album and I must say that I was very impressed with them. Especially with the songs “Identified”, “Amazed”, and “Sneakernight”. I feel that she should peform one of these songs or any song from her album at the 2008 Teen Choice Awards. Who else here agrees with me?

I think the haters and bashers have had more than their 15 minutes of fame by now. Everyone bashing now is only saying the same thing over and over. One of two things is happening here, 1) these people are actually fans of Vanessa’s and think if they post hate stuff then people will answer and keep the thread going, thus giving Vanessa the numbers to let Jared know we want more OR 2) these people are so desperate for attention or they get off on being so nasty they keep posting the same things over and over—-since they have no original material. Either way, we need concern ourselves with these people who, by now, know what the truth is. Now, if someone comes up with something new that they truly seem confuse about, then we can use our time to answer.
I flagged post #273 for abuse. I don’t know if it will work but maybe just maybe if enough of these people are made aware that there is a line and they’re crossing it, at least the profanity and name calling will at least stop.

I’d say about 90% of hate posters do not read ANY other post. It is proven time and time again. They don’t want to learn anything about facts and truth or they wouldn’t bother to post the same old stuff because they would know they look so foolish and stupid. And MOST people really HATE to embarrass themselves—there is a thing called self-esteem—and these people obviously don’t have it—they probably are not familiar with that concept either. So, for some reason they just love to post things that go against the grain and upset people. The should really wonder what is inside of them that would give them pleasure to do that.
BTW, in my #273 post, that should have said we “need NOT to concern ourselves”…
#279 That’s true Karen. The majority of haters probably don’t even read each other e-mails. And in the case of this thread I really believe it’s one or two people *Note I’ m not saying that’s the case with EVERY thread* but this one where we’ve had so much violent and foul language it reads like its one or two people posting under different names.
Regardless of whether or not the haters actually learn anything I don’t think we should allow not only violent but racist post such as the one I reported which was the original #273 remain and pollute the thread.

I don’t know about getting into the Regis and Kelly show but if you go to the link that suzy posted you then need to click on for next week as the one right now is for the week ending the 27th. Then you will need to click on the Tuesday schedule and it will say Vanessa Hudgens.

I was just making a last check here on JJ before going to bed since I have to get up early in the AM and I saw your post. I’m sorry to say that I have not received any email from you so that is why you have not heard from me, my friend. Please try sending it again. I will be out until late afternoon tomorrow so I most likely will not get to it until then, however.
Vanessa is on Yahoo’s Entertainment page, Blender’s music page, a Ecko Red page promoting her album, a Neutrogena page promoting her album, and she’s going to be on Regis and Kelly on July 1st.
I’m sure there are more I haven’t seen and there will be more coming tomorrow.
Her release party is in NY the same day/night of her Regis and Kelly appearance. Wonder if she’ll be doing GMA, too.

But, just on all things V lately, I just have nothing but positive stuff to say. First, I’m nothing but proud of her (and Z) for continuing to honor the sacredness of their relationship and not letting prying people get “juicy” info from them. Second, go her for saying what many of us thought about the stupidity of that shower rumor. Third, I adore the CosmoGirl write up…the descriptions of them…yep, more powerful than words anyway, but it does sound from the words of advice that she shared that they definitely have a good grasp on love/successful relationships. Fourth, I absolutely love her new album…can’t stop listening. The coming months of doing concerts and tv promos, etc. should be pretty fun and exciting for her. And for those who wish her ill, honestly, what right do you have to wish anyone not to have happiness or joy? Here’s to the summer of Vanessa…and if you’re a Z fan, you’ll get that reference. :-)

Nice to see that the haters/violence has stopped. I think it’s hard for some of them to be around right now since Vanessa is doing so very well. I used to think oh they are just jealous, then i thought well no, not everyone is just jealous. There’s has to be more than that. But now that I think about it, they are just jealous! I truly believe this because almost all these haters who come on here and post disgusting nasty comments have no specific reason to dislike Vanessa. And I think if you have no reason, the person did nothing to you, then you are just jealous. Sad really. I mean come on what did Vanessa ever possibly do to hurt you?
On a positive note~She sure has a lot coming up. WOW! I absolutely love her album and cannot wait to get Cosmo Girl. I do have a subscription to it, so maybe I’ll get it earlier than July 1st? Wishful thinking. =) Anyways, I really admire her even more after her Newsweek,Cosmo Girl, and Cosmopolitan interview. She certainly handles all her questions wisely. And although I always love to hear and see all the cute little moments with Z & V, and whether we admit it or not some of us would like to hear more about them in the Cosmo Girl interview, I really respect Vanessa for not gushing or spilling all their private details about their relationship. Because as Zac said, “relationships are sacred ground.” And with Hollywood I’m sure it’s pretty hard to have a relationship last long. And I mean the poor girl already had some of her private life leaked, so why would she want to share any more? How adorable was that moment they shared at the interview though? Congratulations to Vanessa!!!
