Vanessa Hudgens is featured in the August 2008 issue of CosmoGirl. Check out her interview to see what a day in the life of Vanessa is like and what her and boyfriend Zac Efron are really like.
Newsweek also did a (stupid) interview with Vanessa. (It’s the same interviewer who was completely unprofessional with Clay Aiken.) Here are some excerpts:
“HSM” director Kenny Ortega once told me you and Zac Efron started dating on the first “High School Musical,” and I don’t think I’ve ever heard that story. And I’m going to keep it that way.
You’re not going to tell me? No. Only because I don’t want to talk about it. It might hurt the relationship. That’s something I have to myself.
So, is it hard to go on dates? No. We do what we want.
Are the reports true that Zac doesn’t like to shower? That’s the stupidest thing I’ve ever heard. Whoever came up with that is completely idiotic.
Because when I met him, he smelled perfectly fine. He showers! He showers! Believe me, he does.
Every day? Yes! Of course.

Never mind the full-frontal JPEGs that leaked online last year—Vanessa Hudgens is still very much a Disney girl. On her second solo disc, she lavishes attention on boys, sings about dancing and never acknowledges, explicitly or even implicitly, the horizontal tango. This is teen pop in which any trace of innuendo has been eradicated: There is no genie in the bottle, no hormones straining against the schoolgirl outfit; the most subversive moment is “Sneakernight,” in which Hudgens throws a late-night dance party, bedtimes be damned. Rather than expose too much of herself, she plays dress-up, rifling through pop’s last few seasons. She strikes her poses like any musical-trained shape-shifter, testing out slicked-up R&B belting, crunchy love ballads, sassy old-school rap and Auto-Tuned dance pop. But it’s that handful of R&B tracks that really allows Hudgens to edge out of Disney’s squeaky-clean mold. Her voice was made to rip, and when she lets go just a little, the coyness turns sultry—proof that she might just have a life after high school.

Gianna, dear, what kind of sad people raised you? You sound very young, so I’m assuming no one has spent any time teaching you that kindness is far better for your soul than hatred. Spewing forth hatred toward someone you don’t know will eat you up inside.
Surely your school has counselors with whom you can talk about the anger that is eating away at you. There is help out there in the world. You don’t need to suffer alone.
