OlderJonas Brothers Return for Camp Rock Sequel
The Disney Channel is set to have the The Jonas Brothers return to go into production on a sequel to Camp Rock in late spring or summer 2009, according to the Hollywood Reporter.
Although Camp Rock averaged 8.9 million viewers, according to the Disney Channel, it still didn’t top High School Musical 2. Camp Rock did, however, beat out the original High School Musical which debuted to 7.8 million viewers. HSM2 broke records for a cable premiere, grabbing 17.2 million in its August 2007 debut.
Camp Rock made the Disney Channel the number one network in its 8 p.m. slot, out-rating runner-up CBS by more than 3 million viewers. It was also top among kids 6 to 11 with 3.5 million viewers and tweens 9 to 14 with 3.4 million viewers.
The Camp Rock sequel will be pending a script that’s in development as well as the cast members’ busy schedules.

Camp Rock shouldn’t be that overjoyed with themselves for the ratings of their movie compared to the first HSM, because as we all know, the JB were promoting their TV movie as if it were the movie of the century and their well known so obviously they were gonna have a decent rating. The plot as many have criticied, was unoriginal and the Jonas brothers should stick to singing for little tweens and teenagers since they can’t act for ****, especially Joe Jonas, who in my opinion was by far the worst with his exaggerated acting.
No offense but they need to up their plot and acting skills ten fold if they even intend to do better than the HSM cast, who scored 7.8 million for their first movie wihout the over promoting and big names to score good ratings.
I watched it and thought it was cheesy and parts of the acting was really, really bad. Why is it that Disney insists on making such cheesy movies that only fourteen year olds would find cool? It never used to be like that, When I was younger they had some really great movies. Anyone remember Tru Confessions? That was a meaningful and inspirational movie without the cheese of the current movies. I still cry when I watch that movie. HSM never brought me anywhere near tears, or any kind of emotion other than disgust. They never show Tru Confessions anymore though because they’d rather play disgusting tween movies three times a week.

I agree with #17. I watched it to see what all the fuss was about, but though the songs were catchy; I will not deny that HSM was definitely by far much better then this movie. There is no need to make a sequel if the first one barely beat the first HSM.
I knew it would get many views because of the Jonas Brothers, but as far as that goes; this movie would have been a total failure.

# 17 is so right I agree 100% This movie had so much adverticing that it hurt, and HSM didn’t really had much it was a low key thing and did amazing, Disney is promoting the Joans so much and the truth is they are nowhere near as good actors and Demi Lovato over did it way too much. NONE did a good lip schyn in the whole ovie , just the Jonasn but let’s face it they are used to it. they do it a lot in their tours. and Demi has no presence at all. The script was so lame, the movie was too CLICHE. Girls jsut watch it because of the Jonas who can’t act, sing or dance , even if their lifes depend on it.
i think camp rock got more audience than HSM just because all the main characters were famous BEFORE it’s release. I mean, the jonas brothers ar huge right now, and thanks to the internet, pelople already knew A LOT about demi before the premiere of the movie, so it’s natural a lot of ppl watched it. BUT, HSM came out when the main characters weren’t as known. Ashley was in the suite life, but she wsan’t huge yet, and Zac had had a role in summerland, but they weren’t exactly really famous. what i’m saying is, i think hsm is a better movie, but got less audience because of that. It was publicity…
I believe that if HSM3 were on tv, it’d beat out camp rock and camp rock2 together…

I watched it to see if it would be as good as HSM but it definetely wasn’t. Demi Lovato’s character wasn’t even thought out and the way she acted constantly changed. A good movie can’t have a character that doesn’t have a gradual change. In other words just a really bad script and acting.
They shouldn’t be so happy with the “success” considering HSM did great without big names or teen followers.

Disney should stop trying to make their movies popular by over advertising them. I liked HSM to begin with but they made it such a big deal later that it was all over TV and magazine and it got obnoxious. That turned me off and I don’t watch Disney anymore.

They’re doing a second one when the first was so horrible. No chemistry at all between the lead actors and I’m sorry when it comes to acting Joe Jonas just doesn’t have it. How do you do a sequel about camp when the lead actor was only suppose to be there as a punishment. What he get punished every year? Just not feeling it.

On a score of 1 to 10, I rate it 8. The chemistry played between Joe and Demi was really good, but they didn’t kiss at the end which really left you hanging. I hate those movies. So it drops three points. But the JB (especially Joe) were so HOT it goes up one point.
I can’t wait, this movie is the best. i think i even top hsm. those boys are so talent, and i only wish them the best. they only desevre what they get. they have gone through alot with nick and the diabtes. and i think that god has blessed them with what they dersevre. so good i think the sequel will be good :)

The only reason people tuned in to watch Camp Rock was mainly becuase of the Jonas Brothers. Of course Ashley Tisdale was in High School Musical , but some people didn’t know that and she wasn’t the main actress . I have to agree High School Musical wasn’t promoted as much as Camp Rock . High School Musical had only commercials on disney channel about it and the making of it . But Camp Rock was on a bunch of channels. The movie is okay but it’s like a remake of HSM . Boy and Girl meet , fall in love , fight and get back together for the finale . high school musical was a blessing to it’s cast but camp rock was just promotion to reach to the top .
The only actually talented person in Camp Rock is Demi Lovato . The Jonas Brothers are just there because million of girls love them . It’s pathetic to let out a movie that’s almost like HSM . The Jonas Brothers shouldn’t act at all , it all seemed so fake . Demi smiled WAY too much , Joe barely even smiled . At least they should have evened the emotions it out . Like Gabriella and Troy , they had the perfect chemistry .

Yes, I am only 16, but I do know what I’m talking about. I found this movie to send a really good message and it was very entertaining. The music was very up beat and sent was really fun to listen to.

I think all of you are blind. No offense. Well actually, yes offense. But HSM is not a good movie. I (”hate” is a really strong word) dislike the 1st movie, and the second movie, and I will probably dislike the third movie. The songs were all stupid and love dovey.

Maya, are related to the late Brad Kibble? I have a CD by Kevin Jonas, Sr. which has a song dedicated to Brad Kibble. He was a beloved friend of Kevin’s. The song is called “One Tiny Rose”. I met Kevin 10 years ago at a worship conference. I played bass guitar with him. He is one great man!
