Here’s some more scoopage on Disney darling Vanessa Hudgens’s interview with Cosmogirl via ET.
Apparently in the middle of the interview, costar boyfriend Zac Efron walks in. The interviewer writes, “When [Vanessa] sees Zac, she runs over and they kiss, oblivious to the dozen of us in the room. She rubs his stomach, he puts his arm around her — these gestures say more than any statement she could make.”
Vanessa, 19, also shared her viewpoint on love: “If you really love someone, you shouldn’t have to work at it. You finish each others’ sentences and have the same sense of humor… You have to think it through, not just do something spur of the moment. So that after it happens you won’t regret it. I think girls can be infatuated with their boyfriends and they have to remember [to put themselves] first.”
Ms. Hudgens also featured in the new Sears campaign, new Ecko site and Neutrogena meet-and-greet contest.

Great to hear this from an objective third party. Vanessa and Zac do not need to cheapen their love and relationship with words and declarations but for those with eyes to see, their love is evident and deep.
When you’re in love, your commitment to a relationship and the things you do to keep it going will not be considered work, they will be a joy.
It’s lovely to see her displaying such wisdom and maturity at her age. They definitely do have something special going that is way beyond hsm, hence the interest from all over the world and from people of all ages. I am a grandparent of two and parent of three kids. My youngest child is the same age as Zac & Vanessa. One thing I admired about Zac & Vanessa is that both are hard working kids since age of 12. I would say these two are showing responsibilities of going after their career goals…not like some of the non-fans and unrespectful people on these threads making rude comments. These two are conquering and following their dreams, goals, and path to success. And working very hard at it. They will to do it together or by themselves…just whatever ways they choose, it will work out for them.
I think Zac and Vanessa have acted very professional and respectfully to many of their loyal fans. Both are good actor/singer and actress/singer, and have the potential to be great. I am looking forward to see more movies that Zac and Vanessa will be working on. Looking forward to see HSM3. I sure Zac and Vanessa can’t wait to move on from Disney and do more mature roles in movies that are appealing to more mature audiences that will appreciate them for their arts than the kids that haven’t gotten out of diapers yet.
For all the rude and unappreciated people that hate Zac and Vanessa, Camp Rock’s casts are coming on maybe that will be the next target of kids to attack and say negative comments about. Which I’m sure you have already done that. Remember the old saying, if you cannot say anything nice, just keep your mouth shut and don’t say anything at all. Especially Zac and Vanessa did not ask for your suggestions.
I wish for the best in the near future to both Zac and Vanessa. I hope and wish Zac & Vanessa special loving relationship will continue to grow and last for the life of these two. Many successes to Zac & Vanessa in their careers as entertainters. Such a darling couple.

What I love about this JJ post is that the picture of Zac and Vanessa is about two years old! They have that awesome look of complete connection between them. And I see her continuing to emphasize how one should not lose themselves in a relationship. How can people still continue to say this relationship is for publicity? I mean come on, it’s been 3 years people. Deal with it. I highly doubt Zac or Vanessa would be wrapped into a fake relationship just for Disney. I mean I’m sure if they wanted to, they could definitely break up. But guess what haters? They haven’t! I think Zac and Vanessa will be together for quite some time. They have found love, and so what if they are young? Hollywood relationships never seem to last, but Zac and Vanessa aren’t like everyone else. They are special and really seem to get each other. Afterall, it seems to me it was love at first sight. I believe they just clicked from the start. That’s why their chemistry is so wonderful in High School Musical. This is a rare thing, but to me, Zac and Vanessa’s love is real.
Secondly, she is 19. Her response about love was completely appropriate since she is young. What else was she going to say? She probably hasn’t had that many experiences, so her answer was perfect. She has come a long way and has matured well.

I think what Vanessa meant when she said love is easy and you shouldn’t have to work at it she meant that if you love someone, keeping the relationship going doesn’t feel like work.
You are willing to talk things through to the point where it seems like you are finishing each others sentences because you are just that attuned to the other person due to keeping the lines of communication open, (and we all know that Zac and Vanessa communicate).
And Ashlee, how much you love a person has EVERYTHING to do with a relationship. That love guides every compromise, every joint decision, how you deal with the problems you face, and even the possibility of having to let them go for the sake of their own good.

Well, with #197’s post we can see the kiddies are here to try to play their game of posting under a regular’s name. #197 we are not going to take the bait as the angels and supporters have been here a long time and know each other well and what they would and would not say. You are showing what a little kid you are at this late date. We have dealt with this kind of thing every time school has been out, Christmas break, Easter/Spring break….You’re embarrassing yourself and don’t seem to know it.
Ever since HSM1 came out and Zac and Vanessa started doing interviews together there have been interviewers who have made comment on how the two would finish each other’s sentences because they seemed s in tune with each other. man of you non-fans seem to make comments on very limited information. If you are non-fans that’s not so surprising as you surely do not take the time to research this couple—why would you waste your time? BUT if you know so little, why must you come on here and show yourself to be so ignorant? Then when someone tells why your comments are such you get mad and say you have a right to your opinions. Well, so do the fans who happen to have a lot more facts than you non-fans seem to have and we tell what we know. BTW, we don’t have to make up garbage, either.
People baffle me seriously. Why is everyone concerned with the fakeness of this realtionship? If you think they are fake, fine, it’s your opinion, don’t waste any more of your precious time on the fake couple and move on. Leave the thread for those that are interested and are fans. Hollywood is full of fake couples, why would an extra one bother you so much.
I don’t get it, what little time I have on the web I spend on the threads of the celebs I’m a fan of, I don’t bother with the rest as I’m completely indifferent to them.
I’m happy Vanessa and Zac get on with their lives and could not care less what people think. When they were hiding their relationship, everyone was at them for doing so. Now they’ve been outed and they’ve decided to behave like a normal couple, it’s ‘publicity’. Yet they keep getting flack for refusing to talk about said public relationship.
It seems that if you are a celebrity you are not allowed to live a normal life. In my office, partners and spouses frequently show up and kiss freely with their partners with no one batting an eyelid but no, Zac and Vanessa are not allowed to show any affection to each other because they work together and are celebs, how stupid is that.
This was all said about Brad and Angelina, they were accused of all sorts, publicity and what have you and everybody was predicting their break-up and they’re still together and people are not happy so who’s next…Vanessa and Zac.
I really give Kudos to any couple trying to make it work in hollywood because everybody is against them, the media and the audience. It’s a game for them, rile them, twist their words, publish lies, selectively edit their statements and see who would crack and entertain us more. It’s sad to see people’s annoyance that a young couple have withstood the odds for three years and are still going strong.
PS More couples have lasted from being optimistic and naive than being pessimistic and cynical, guess which set of couples have great memories to look back to.

Those of you who think Zac and Vanessa are too young to know what love is must not have ever been on these threads about them ever before. There is more than one regular poster on their threads who can tell of how they met their mates when they were only 15-16 years old and now have been married for over 15 and even 30 years! It CAN and it DOES happen. So, when you say that you are either very cynical or very young yourself.
When talking about love shouldn’t take work—-I can think of couples, one who has been together for 25 years and have always said “It isn’t easy, it is a lot of work”. That couple has often wondered if the good out-weighed the bad and if it was worth it. There have been great victories and they are glad they fought it out and stayed together—it’s been an accomplishment. However, they admit that they cannot say they would feel like they failed if they would have gone separate ways since they gave it their all. So, it has been difficult. I know another couple who have been married 28 years and say they don’t ever remember a fight. Now, seriously they have had arguments but they have been sooo in love with each other because they communicated very easily with each other that their fights have not seemed that difficult (translation: no work) at all. They really have been so close and happy—they never doubted that the good DID out-weigh the bad—that they never felt their relationship was work at all and they easily forgot any arguments they had. It didn’t sour the relationship in any way.
SO, maybe Zac and Vanessa have a relationship like the latter couple. The latter couple, BTW, were young when they met and the first couple were in 30ish—the age you’d think would KNOW what love is.

For those of you who say they’re too young- have you never heard of
‘high school sweethearts?’ Plenty of people marry their high school loves (after having met at ages close to those of Zac and Vanessa) and stayed together for life. I don’t understand why people have any reason to hate them. It completely baffles me. Heidi and Spencer I could understand; they’re mean, awful people who do terrible things for publicity. Vanessa and Zac do all they can to stay out of the public eye as far as paparazzi is concerned . When they are in the media they’re generally talking about movies or different projects. Yes, I totally get it now. I hate it when two beautiful people fall in love and try to stay out of the public eye and only talk about their work instead of each other. It’s all becoming clear to me.
I’m sorry, these people have just gotten me really riled up tonight. If you have to work at loving the person you’re with- that’s pretty sad. True love should come naturally. That’s almost like forcing love if you have to work at it. Relationships take work undoubtedly, but actually loving someone for who they are should never be work.

You are one of the people I was thinking of when I said how some met their mates when they were teens and now have been married 15-30 years! LOL But then again, I’m sure these people would never want to believe those kinds of stories that you, go sox, and TEALEAF can tell of your various experiences. I know you met your hubby at a young age like go sox and married a some years later. TEALEAF, however, met her hubby at a very young age and they married when they were 17l After 30+ years they are also going strong.
AND those who think two people can’t meet and stay together while doing a movie. What about Kevin Bacon and Kyra Segwick(sp)? Then there is Jerry Stiller and Anne Meara who have been together for probably 50 years or nearly there. And one of my favorites and who I mention often the late Charlston Heston and his wife Lydia who were married for 64 years and who Heston said was the first girl he dated. He married when he was 19 and all those love scenes he ever did with all those actresses never made him decide he wanted anything else.

It just gets me that once again when Vanessa shows affection to Zac first then she’s using him to get famous, using him becuase he has more money than her all the usual comments that come out of peoples mouth.
I’m sure the interview it said that THEY kissed ZAC put his arm around her that sounds like a couple in love to me.
And agan with the age’s for heaven’ sake Zac will be 21 this year and Vanessa 20 they are no longer teenager’s they have passed the teenage romance stage and it has developed into something that they obvioulsy feel as strong about now as they did 3 year’s ago that in itself take’s work, we all know what Vanessa had to cope with last year but with Zac’s support and her accepting it was a mistake and having the guts to apologise for it shows how she’s matured. As for Zac finding someone else again as it’s been said and I have said it myself he has had plently of opportunity to go and do just that but he has’nt. The publicity is also comments that annoys me if that’s the case just think how much hard work that would involve pretending to be a couple with someone for nearly 3 year’s now that’s what you call good acting on both parts.
All I see is a couple who met when they were young 16 and 17, have taken the relactionship slow, kept it out of the public eye even though all the look’s and smiles they gave each other were a dead give away but still they kept it between them to begin with and just let thngs develop if they were going to and obvioulsy have to the stage now where they are getting more comfortable with showing some PDA and again why should’nt they.
Relactionship’s do need work but I get where Vanessa is coming from, if you have to work really hard on it and it get’s to feel like it’s a struggle and you just feel ‘why am I bothering’ when you feel like your not getting anything back from the other person then it becomes hard work, but if you connect but also compramise, let each other have space to do your own things but at the same time you know that at the end of your day you can’twait to hear or see your other half then it’s working. I have said before I am not naive to think that Z and V have never had a cross word every couple does but again if you work things out and still want to be together then something must be right between you.
To much is made of their ages I have a friend who got togher with her man when she was 17 and he was nearly 17 and they are now both in their forties have two children and still together, okay they have’nt had the pressure that Z and V have but every relaction ship brings it’s own level of pressure whatever your age and if you work on it together from the start and take the good with the bad and still stay connected and wanting to be together then that’s good and your obvioulsy doing something right and something is right within the reactionship that keeps you together.
Who know’s what the future holds for Zac and Vanessa in their personal and professional life but at the monent there young enjoying being together enjoying doing their jobs and just taking one day at a time. Does’nt sound to bad of a life to me, they both have every reason to have smiles on their face’s.
Hey, did you guys know that Vanessa was originally offered the main role in “Prom Night,” but turned it down to work on her album, so then the role was given to Brittany Snow? I just read about it by accident just now. Do you guys think it was worth it?
Personally, I think she should have done that role and held off on the album. You can hold off on albums, but not films, it ended up grossing $50 mil worldwide, and I think it was a more “grown up” role she could have played.

baby girl, Justin and Brittany didn’t even come close to the kind of relationship these two have. IMO, THAT was for publicity. They may have been friends, but those two had no chance. Z and V are different. In every way. They kept this private until last summer when they were “discovered” romping in Hawaii, and they have far more going for them in their relationship than J and B had. I seriously doubt Vanessa’s career is really going to go anywhere and I do not say that to be mean but look at the statistics. Whenever Vanessa is interviewed nobody ever focuses on her acting or singing the interviews are always about her and Zac (oh and maybe High School Musical )nobody asked about the movie she just did Willie (or whatever it was called) She has all kinds of commercials out nobody ask about those. Cosmo girl just interviewd Vanessa and that was a perfect time to ask about her new cd that at that time was just about to come out but no what did they focus on they focused on when Zac and her actually started dating and whether or not Zac took a shower or not. I am not just spewing mean things just to be mean these are the facts. Nobody, but her fans seem to really give a crap about what she is doing. #269 The movie you’re referring to is called “Rock On” (formerly called “Will) and since it apparently isn’t coming out until early next year apparently, so promotion for that is a ways off. However ET did mention it and it showed a clip from the Cosmogirl behind the scenes video where Vanessa is talking about it. The magazine article does talk about her CD and I never see any celebrity talk about the endorsements they do in interviews, so I don’t find it unusual that Vanessa isn’t asked about that.
I will grant you that it does seem interviewers are more interested in her relationship with Zac but they do that to Zac as well. I remember that last fall when Zac did a segment on ET when he was hosting a party celebrating the release of “Halo 3″ and Keven Frasier asked him about Vanessa and he just laughed and said “When do I ever talk about my personal life?” So it happens to him too.
Excited to see Vanessa on Live with Regis and Kelly on July 1.
I remember last time she was a guest on their show, Regis asked her if she knew where Lake Titicaca was, and she was like, “WTF?? Is that real??”

Am I some weird Zac stalker fan no I am not but if the information is readily available through Vanessa I am going to read it.
Red Sox I never once said Vanessa was lazy or talked about any other celebrity and how they sit around and do nothing. I do think if I was an actress rather be known for the work I do and not the relationship I am in throughout the business nobody is taking notice of anything Vanessa is during because they are too worried about who she is dating. Read Troy’s comment in #289. Apparently you didn’t watch enough of Vanessa’s interview on ET to find they did talk about her other work. She’s young and just starting out, how much stuff does she have to talk about?
When someone talks to Angelina Jollie, you know someone is going to bring up Brad Pitt. Plus, you don’t hear them talking about ALL her accomplishments in each interview.
Lastly, Vanesa’s Sneakernight release has gotten notice on shows and on the net so you must have missed that too. She will be on Regin and Kelly next Tuesday where they are to talk about her new CD release that day—-now, I’m sure they are going to try to slip Zac in there somewhere and probably something about the new HSM3 movie since they will have just finished filming that this week.

None of us care if you like Vanessa or not. It doesn’t matter to us, but you seem to put so much energy towards making the point that you don’t like Vanessa. Why? Nothing you have said makes any sense whatsoever, there is no logic behind it at all. You say that whenever Zac is interviewed, they always talk about his upcoming projects, but whenever they interview Vanessa, they only ask her about Zac. Well if you use that logic, then it would mean that they would only have to ask Zac about Vanessa during interviews…which is not what happens. Vanessa fans are not the only ones that know about her upcoming roles. We love her for who she is and what she does. In all of her interviews, yes, she is asked about Zac, but Zac is asked the same questions about Vanessa. And Vanessa is constantly asked about HSM. And most of her interviews are to promote either HSM, her new movie Rock On, or her upcoming album. But you wouldn’t know that seeing that you dont read the entire article. That was your first mistake, admitting that you don’t read them. So before you come here and start making accusations about Vanessa, her career, and her life, you SHOULD read up on those interviews that she does. And while we all appreciate that you aren’t rude when you post your opinion, that still doesn’t take away from the point that you dont have your facts straight.
And about Vanessa being offered Prom Night, I started thinking about it and I too think she should have taken the role. I mean, I dont know if it would have conflicted with Rock On (maybe thats why she didnt take the role) but I wouldn’t have minded if her album came out later, like august instead of july. The only reason I say that is because HR is so busy with Miley, JB, Demi, etc (the people they think will bring in the most money) that they have neglected Vanessa. I think that if she had waited a little bit more, maybe some of the madness would have died down, even if just a little bit, and she might have gotten more attention towards her new album and we would have know the details about it, like DEFINITE, OFFICIAL album release dates, knowing when the music video was debuting, not having it just magically appear online.

But you have to admit, some people don’t deal with the fact that he chose Vanessa. A long time ago in Hollywood, actors who were considered “heartthrobs” like Zac, would never have admitted to dating anyone, because the publicists and studios did not want to ruin their careers by having their female fans get jealous!! I’m happy that times have changed, in that respect!! I think Zac’s fans basically accept his relationship with Vanessa, but there are still some who don’t…………But Zac is a very strong person, who would NEVER bow down to a studio dictating anything in his personal life!! #317 My understanding the reason why Vanessa turned down “Prom Night” is because the shooting schedule was in conflict with when she was on tour either with “HSM” or “The Cheetah Girls” I’m not sure which. On one hand it would have been a break from Disney showing she could do other things. But on the other hand the movie which I have not seen was critcially panned and in and out of theaters in just a couple of weeks.
So I think all things considered she probably made the right choice in turning it down.
Love this girl. I’m sorry but if you’re nineteen, dating and “in love”and you think its work, something is wrong in relationship. When my husband and I started dating, we were that sickening couple that other people talk about but wish they had. I remember when he left for school, I cried as I watched him pack. When I got to school the next day my friends said “Well, I guess you have to eat with us now” and laughed. When lunch came I looked up and he walked into the room and said he couldn’t leave me crying so he stayed to take me to lunch.
Now, thirty plus years and three kids later we’re still in love. Sure we’ve had to work to keep it that way,but at nineteen it wasn’t work at all.
If you read her interviews looking for mention of Zac, then that’s all you’ll see.. Who really know where they will be years from now? It’s just heatwarming to watch them now.
All the talk about Disney putting them together for publicity is just crazy. I’m sorry but a single Zac with no girlfriend would be a easier sell. All he’d have to do is say “I’m looking for the right girl” and fans every where would think they had a chance. The same with Vanessa.

So then I am glad that she did turn it down, because as you said, it didn’t do that well with the critics and it wasn’t a HUGE box office hit. According to Regis and Kelly website, Vanessa has been replaced with a “mystery guest”. Nobody called her hater. She expressed her opinion and people begged to disagree with their own opinions. That’s why this is a forum. As she has the right to state her opinions on a celeb that she’s not a fan of and does not pay much attention to, so do fans have the right to defend that celeb and challenge statements with their opinions especially as we are better informed.
I hope in the same manner you’re defending Lisa, you’ll be willing to defend any neutral person that states an unfavorable opinion about Ashley respectfully. As I hate double standards, I shall be checking in the next Ashley thread to make sure that when an unfair statement against Ashley is made respectfully you don’t respond. That’s what you’re asking us to do for Vanessa, you should do the same for Ashley.

Judge Not Part 2 – The Source of Judging Others

Judge not, that you be not judged. For with the judgment you pronounce you will be judged, and with the measure you use it will be measured to you. Why do you see the speck that is in your brother’s eye, but do not notice the log that is in your own eye? Or how can you say to your brother, ‘Let me take the speck out of your eye,’ when there is the log in your own eye? You hypocrite, first take the log out of your own eye, and then you will see clearly to take the speck out of your brother’s eye. (Matthew 7:1-5)
Have you ever observed bullies? You know, those people who seem to go out of there way to belittle everyone around them both physically and verbally. Why do they do it? The heart of Man is deceitful and depraved. In the following passage, God explains to His people His method of judgment. He also explains that Man, left to self, is “desperately sick and deceitful.” However, there is no excuse. God still searches our hearts in order to proclaim justice.
The heart is deceitful above all things, and desperately sick; who can understand it? “I the LORD search the heart and test the mind, to give every man according to his ways, according to the fruit of his deeds.” (Jeremiah 17:9-10)
The bully is one who is in the grips of deceit and the gall of bitterness. He or she has no fulfillment in any part of their existence so, in an attempt to get some sense of glory in their lives, they try to downgrade others to elevate themselves over them. They hurt others because this gives them the illusion they are bigger or better than those they afflict. What they are doing is judging. They are saying, “I am actually better than you and I’m going to prove it by taking you down.” However, the realities of their lives never give them the fulfillment they believe they deserve so they continue to try to force their will over everyone they can. Some bullies are more violent than others are. Some are actually very pleasant and nice people until they get behind the wheel of a car. Watch people parking at the mall during Christmas shopping season or while they drive during rush hour traffic if you don’t believe me. People imposing their will over others, no matter the situation, is an act of judgment that their victims are not as worthy as they are.
Pride is the culprit behind a deceitful heart. Pride comes packaged in our hearts from the moment we are conceived in our mother’s wombs. It looks out for number one. Its methods are varied and deceitful. Pride is the motivational force behind our heart’s attempts to gain fulfillment or glory from every conceivable avenue. What is the number one avenue pride seeks to manipulate in order to produce fulfillment? It is our flesh. Our flesh is our old sin nature. Our “OLD MAN” sin nature is not redeemed when we are saved. It has not been done away with. It is still in place. Its sole function is to attempt to find fulfillment from fleshly pursuits. Of course, all of those pursuits are sinful. The believer who does not understand this will be clueless why they continue to sin even though they are now in Christ. Why can’t they get the victory of some sins? Why do they continue to fall into the same sins repeatedly? The problem is their “OLD MAN” sin nature, sin itself, reigns in them. Victory comes to those who learn how to mortify or kill it. (Romans 7) However, we are discussing the source of judging others. Pride is the culprit. Its main tool is our “OLD MAN” sin nature. Pride seeks to elevate self at the expense of everyone else. The only way it can accomplish this is to judge others in an attempt to elevate self over them.
The Christian is a new creation. (2 Corinthians 5:17) That means God has regenerated the believer. His or her Spirit, once dead, is now alive. However, as we saw earlier, sin is still present in the Soul. Pride is still in place. Salvation does not automatically kill it. However, Christlikeness requires the replacement of pride with humility. Pride is self-focused and judges others. Humility is outwardly focused and never judges others.
How can we know if we are prideful or humble? The number one indication of pride or humility working unhindered is the focus of our hearts. If pride is in control, the focus of our hearts will be on self-fulfillment, self-promotion, self-defense, and self-pity. I’m sure we could list many more. Pride focuses the heart inwardly. When circumstances are not fulfilling then it directs the heart towards entertainment, daydreaming, fantasies, et cetera. Why? This is a desperate attempt to find glory or fulfillment. The prideful believer’s hope is on everything except God. Our hearts are deceitful and wicked because this is what they are constantly doing unless we learn to control them. Judging others is a large part of this sinful activity. On the other hand, if humility is in control, the focus of our hearts will be outward not inward. It will not be on what we can get, but what we can give. The motivation behind the giving has no strings attached. Pride can appear as humility by giving, but its motivation is to get something out of it such as recognition. Humility does not do that. It focuses the heart on loving others instead of judging them. The humble believer’s heart is focused on God for fulfillment. The humble believer’s hope is on God instead of temporal things. Therefore, the joy of the Lord is his or her strength. It understands the only fulfillment that lasts comes from delighting in the Lord.
The source of judging others incorrectly is pride. The humble righteous believer still has to judge, but it will always be in light of God’s values and will be His judgments. A good example is found in Joshua 7 when Achan sinned and caused the Israelites to lose a battle. Joshua proclaimed judgment upon him and his family, but it was God’s judgment being carried out. When pride judges it is always based on its own values, which it cherishes. The act of judging others is hypocritical.
Do not speak evil against one another, brothers. The one who speaks against a brother or judges his brother, speaks evil against the law and judges the law. But if you judge the law, you are not a doer of the law but a judge. There is only one lawgiver and judge, he who is able to save and to destroy. But who are you to judge your neighbor? (James 4:11-12)
Hypocrisy has its root in pride. After all, the whole structure of rules and values it uses to judge is nothing more than a deceitful house of cards. Hypocrisy is the result of one living a lie. It is a statement that one is of such and such a character when the opposite is true. Belittling others is hypocritical every time. There are no exceptions. Pride produces hypocrisy, which boasts and belittles. However, in the Kingdom of God, we have no grounds from which to boast. We have no good thing in us that would allow us to elevate ourselves over others. We have already looked at these passages, but let’s do so again.
as it is written: “None is righteous, no, not one; no one understands; no one seeks for God. All have turned aside; together they have become worthless; no one does good, not even one.” “Their throat is an open grave; they use their tongues to deceive.” “The venom of asps is under their lips.” “Their mouth is full of curses and bitterness.” “Their feet are swift to shed blood; in their paths are ruin and misery, and the way of peace they have not known.”, “There is no fear of God before their eyes. (Romans 3:10-1
This passage tells us that no one is worthy of salvation. God did not choose anyone for salvation because of his or her merit.
For by grace you have been saved through faith. And this is not your own doing; it is the gift of God, not a result of works, so that no one may boast. For we are his workmanship, created in Christ Jesus for good works, which God prepared beforehand, that we should walk in them. (Ephesians 2:8-10)
We have already looked at God’s good work of taking us who are completely unworthy and undeserving of grace and regenerating us into His children. We have nothing about which we can boast. We did not choose God, He chose us. Therefore, believers must examine their hearts to see whether pride or humility reigns there. If pride is in control, we will be in a constant state of judging others. If humility is in control, we will be seeking God’s glory in everything we do and think. The humble heart judges self in order to line itself up with God’s will, but never others. If a believer gossips, then he or she is judging. What is the root of this type of judging? Pride and hypocrisy are ruling and reigning in their hearts. They are speaking evil of others and are thereby proving they are not humble. Unless they repent, God will judge them. However, if they will judge themselves by repenting, God will grant them the ability to grow in grace and humility. Pride masquerades as humility so it is easy to become confused about which is actually dominating one’s heart. If a person is timid then we think he or she is humble, however, this is pride in negative action. Timidity is not humility. It is pride in self-protection mode. It refuses to take risks it perceives as possibly being costly. On the other hand, the humble believer will be bold. I did not say brash or obnoxious. I said, bold. Boldness is a Christlike attribute. Pride attempts to appear humble by doing good works. However, there is an ulterior motive. It craves recognition and praise for doing the good works. Humility does good works, but seeks for God to be glorified in them. These are just a few examples.
Pride must be rooted out. How do we do it? Pride thrives in the rocky, sour soil of the hard heart. The hard heart is full of unbelief so it does not trust God. Humility thrives in the soft, fertile soil of the tender heart. Its focus is on God and seeks only His glory. The tender heart’s soil is poison to pride. Pride cannot thrive there. So, how do we become tenderhearted? In the last chapter, we discussed sanctification. God tenderizes our hearts through this process. The fact that you are reading this book is an indication God is drawing you into getting serious about this process. The way we “cooperate” in our sanctification is to draw near to God as He draws near to us. (James 4: What this does is humble us before Him. Drawing near to God not only puts us into the process it is also how we maintain it. We must learn to direct our hearts away from the flesh for fulfillment thereby denying pride. Instead, we direct our hearts to God for fulfillment. This heart redirect has a name, Repentance with Joy. Think about it. Turning our hearts away from fleshly pursuits by turning to God is act of repentance. This turning produces joy in our hearts. The joy of the Lord is our strength. (Nehemiah 8:10) What that means is when our hearts are full of the joy of the Lord we are not self-focused. Instead, we worship and bless Him. We must learn to walk through each day by delighting in and worshipping Him. This tenderizes our hearts and uproots pride. Christlikeness grows in us as God uses our closeness and submission to Him to restructure our hearts. He circumcises our Hearts thereby making His values apparent to our Souls via the conscience. Before we know it, our conscience is so tender towards God that we would not dare deviate from His standards. This is the essence of how the tender heart operates. This heart does not judge. It is humble. It slips every now and then, but with a tender heart, the conscience will condemn the act, which leads the believer to repent.
Just as the source of “judging” is pride, the source of “judging not” is humility. Jesus Christ told us directly to “judge not.” He knows the root of judging others is pride. He hates it. Why? Pride is an affront to God because it is a statement that Man is a god and will have things his own way. Genuine humility is rare and that is a shame. Let’s go to our Lord in brokenness and humility for healing of this dreadful heart condition. Let’s ask God to replace our pride with humility as He tenderizes our hearts. If we don’t do this then pride will continue to rule and reign in our hearts. That means we refuse to repent and grow in Christ. There are consequences we must face if that is our choice. We will look at them in the next chapter.

I was reading something about the Teen Choice Awards on another website and it basically says that when you are voting online, those votes dont count towards the winner, they just keep them safe. Then the judges or the FOX people or whoever choose a person out of those four. So really, it ISN’T a TEEN CHOICE award LOL.
