Angelina Jolie Will Bring Boys To Their Knees

Angelina Jolie Will Bring Boys To Their Knees

Angelina Jolie will bring boys to their knees in her new action thriller Wanted, according to a movie critic for the New York Times.

Manohla Dargis says, “Ms. Jolie has been perfectly cast as a super-scary, seemingly amoral assassin named (wait for it) Fox. Few American actresses, especially those with such pin-skinny arms, can make beating a guy to the ground look so easy and, yeah, man, like fun. With her mean smiley-sneer and snug clothes, her heels and hieroglyphics, she cuts the kind of disciplinarian figure who can bring antsy boys of all ages to their knees or at least into their theater seats.”

Wanted is out in theaters everywhere today!!! James McAvoy and Morgan Freeman costars.

FYI: Sources tell The Daily News that contrary to denials, Angie has given birth to her twins. “They’re waiting till the babies are bigger and stronger before they allow anyone to take their picture,” a source told the paper.

Good afternoon to the JP’s fans. Hi MF, anoble, irma, carolina, yes, all the regulars:) happy birthday to alia and vickifromtexas
TGIF to everyone. Jared thanks for the new thread. Fans, thanks for all the reviews of wanted and all the other interesting info on the Angie and Brad, videos, pictures etc.

krung krung @ 06/27/2008 at 3:35 pm

i just saw it and i liked it, especially the part where Gibson release a bunch of rats and started shooting like nuts haha , the music that goes with it sounds cool too.

krung krung @ 06/27/2008 at 3:38 pm

of course there’s no doubt, Wall-e will take the number one spot in the BO, every kids movie will always take the number one spot, no contest.

I think Angie is a beautiful, sexy woman, but I don’t think she’s hot in this movie. This movie was shot after her mother’s death when she lost a lot of weight and looked like a skeleton. I remember seeing pics from the set and thinking, “oh my, she needs to eat.” She’s way too skinny in the movie to be sexy. Granted, she’s still Angelina, she’s way too skinny in the movie. You can see all the bones in her body in the movie…all of them.

thelookoflove1365 @ 06/27/2008 at 3:41 pm

I will be watching Wanted tonight right after work. So far the reviews are good.

On tv ad, when they showed Angie’s back side shot, with tats, it looked like a work of art, instead of just butt shot. Cool, sexy in an artsy way. No comparison with the TBU butt shot! Not even close!

Happy birthday alia. Hope you’re having a blast.

Waving to all the JP fans posting this time, especially to vicki, feline, anoble, tita, nlal, and everyone-can’t remember the names right now.

Saw this at midnight last night. The special effects were very good, though the story is a bit cliché.

FYI: Sources tell The Daily News that contrary to denials, Angie has given birth to her twins. “They’re waiting till the babies are bigger and stronger before they allow anyone to take their picture,” a source told the paper.

ROTFLMAO. God. Give it up, people! The irrational interest in whether or not these children have been born is bordering on stalking of newborns. Damn. You’d think this was “Children of Men” and Angie was giving birth to the first babies after 20 years of human infertility. It’s gotten downright sick.

ace tomato @ 06/27/2008 at 3:53 pm

This looks like great summer popcorn fare - fun actors, lots of action, and really, with a story about elite assassins involving car chases with a Dodge Viper, are you really worried about realism?

Fun fun fun =)

love her!!! But I think Wall-E will get 1st then Wanted…

Hi vicki and anoble-
Can’t wait to see this movie tonight. In our area, Wanted opens at 12 am this morning (Friday). If I didn’t have to work today, I probably would like to try watching movie that late. LOL!

BBL guys…the site is taking forever to refresh. Jared, thanks for the thread, but please do something. It is very slow,-crawling!

RachelSun @ 06/27/2008 at 3:57 pm

the “source” is probably one of those people in the town that like lying to the press.

Comparing a G rated film to an R is ludicrous. They check ID’s and won’t let any one in under 17.
The movie will open big. I don’t get the reviews that say stuff is physiccally impossible. Why can’t these reviewers get it in their stupid heads it is a fantasy/comic book film not a physics documentary.

Going to see this tonight after work.

wildflower509 @ 06/27/2008 at 4:02 pm

Finally Angie Jo is making the sort of movie that suits her Goth Style. This one should be a success unlike the last few she’s made, i.e. A Mighty Heart, etc. Just something about Voight’s little girl in black leather!! Stop trying to be someone else Angie Jo!, just be U and all will be fine!!

This movie could be good, but it seemed a little far-fetched during the previews(especially after I saw the “bend the bullet” part). Kind of reminds me of Shoot ‘Em Up with Clive Owen, which was horrible. This doesn’t look much better though.

Guys will love her @ 06/27/2008 at 4:04 pm

She looks super sexy in the movie and that butt shot WOW

Wanted is also showing in a lot less screens than WALLE besides being rated R. Are we going to discuss more details of the film in another thread so people who don’t want to be spoiled with specifics won’t be. I can’t wait to see this movie.

I hope everyone supports Angelina because she’s taking a break from HW for a while.

She can do any movie.Amazing woman. Its a popcorn movie people enjoy

I think you guys can wail for more people to see it before discussing it into details.

Of course she is, only in your mind! That is way all her movies are disaster at the box office! And that is way she allways looks like Rachel! She is the worst actress in America!

wanted will do well but not because of Angie, no one is going to see it because of her. She movie is based off a very popular book. But don’t expect to see very many simalarites it is completely different. This movie would do well regardless of who was in it. Angie, as always has a minor role.

vicki: hi!!. How is everything with you?, how are you feeling?. Hope you are better. Thanks for your prayers and kind words.

Sigh, 31 July before this film comes to Australian cinemas.

Is it any wonder that the illegal movie trade is so rife?

It seems to me that if Angie was going to have a c-section then she probably already has a date set for the babies to be born, right? And if the Daily is correct and she already had them then they are preemies and most likely weren’t expected this soon. Either way, Brad & Angie will let the world know when they are d*mn good and ready!
In the mean time, I’m going to see WANTED tonight!!! YAY! :-)

I wish the tabs would quit with their lies aaabout Brad/Angelina while Angelina is in the final stage of her pregnacy. I don’t believe the bull these tabs spit out.

Cliniqua, he will be macking big time next they are on the rc. His hand will be glued to her booty.

Why are people, fans, trolls, and some critics acting as though Wanted is any thing other what it is a movie based on a cartoon. This is not deep thinking. This is not Atlas Shrugged. It is a comic book movie like Iron Man, Spider Man, Batman, Superman. It just happens to have a badazz wo-man who kicks butt and doesn’t wear a funny looking costume.

I read the entire NYT article JJ excerpted. and brought to the thread. I started to bring it to the thread but decided against it as I felt the writer was being a little snarky. He is the second person to mention Angie’s thin arms. Anyone who did any research would know she had lost weight after her mother died. But it seems most reviewers aren’t looking at her arms. It seems most reviewers are looking at her booty. She is thin. That is a fact of her life. But she still can be beautiful, and she is inside and out. Peace

Vee—I think flamingo and her friends will be fine….it’s the Mom they are worried about behaving…ROTFLMAO!!! That’s why they’ll sit as far away as possible from us and pretend they don’t know me and hubby
Vee- I brought home the kitty last night OMG she is gorgeous and feisty..she sleeps with me ..she loves the dog, hates the other two cats and is just curious about my African gray parrot who is at least two times her size

I saw Wanted today with the exception of the ending. The last part I saw was when Wesley released the rats. I had an emergency . But the movie was great. Especially the Angie parts. It a bit bloody but not that bad. A lot of violence but its actually a good movie. For the gir; that says she is too skinny . I don’t thinks so and the guys were drooling over her. Especially the ass shot. I going back to watch it again maybe I will see the ending. Great pic. I agree that she is a bad ass and the role does suit her well.

Curious how none of the press is monitoring Angelina’s OBGYN or James’ movements… oh, wait… that would require effort.

Not that I’m encouraging stalking of any kind, but doing that would seem like a ‘duh’!

At this point, although it would pain me if Brad and Angelina do this, I hope that they never reveal pics of the twins. Let the press whip themselves up into a Suri Cruise-type frenzy.

That is such an asinine speculation to make, that they are waiting until the twins to be bigger and stronger before taking a picture.

Exactly! and even IF that was true, that wouldn’t have denied the births. That is insane. They announced Shiloh’s birth right away, no reason not to this time.

Angie ROCKS!! Best actress around. AND she puts her money, fame and time where her mouth is. She gets out there and actually gets involved in this world.

Wall-E is going to destroy this film at the box office.
=======
Wall-E is a completely different genre and cannot and SHOULD not be compared to WANTED. There is no competition between these movies. Wanted is pure ADULT. Wall-E is for Kids and those young at heart. I’ll see BOTH of these movies.
-
Didn’t take long for someone to bring in Jennifer Aniston with more propaganda instead of truth. No matter how much Jennifer says she hates when people bring her into conversations about Brad and Angelina , her fans keep doing it. That proves they have no concern for her, but are only wanting to start conflicts. It they were TRUE Aniston fans they’d do what she’s asked. The woman doesn’t want to be a pitiful victim all her life . But you need not stop on my account I LOVE it. Every time you bring Jennifer into a Jolie/Pitt thread, Jennifer Aniston is cringing saying , ” OH MY GOD, will they NEVER let me forget?! The is NO, you will NEVER LET HER FORGET.
-
Anywho, howdy Jolie-Pitt fans. Hope you’re having a great day.

BTW Angelina Jolie doesn’t want to be anyone sweetheart, she only needs to be Brad’s sweetheart

I just saw Wanted and it was awesome. Not a dull moment in the movie. Ending was surprising, but still good. Loved It!

I want to see this movie.

Wish good luck to Wanted!

I never hated Angeline Jolie and never loved her either, it was very neutral. But Oh my ******* God! I saw “Wanted” today and she was FABULOUS in it! I am a huge fan now, amazing.

Jens’ movie has too many celebs in it to compare it it Angelinas movie. It’s not like Jen is the only actress in it. Sure people will see it but not just for Jen. It would be great to see Jen as leading actress but then again it would flop so forget it.

L-o-v-e her! Can’t wait to see the movie ;] She’s perfect!

I’m so in love with Angelina and will be seeing her film tonight with my family. yeah

Hi Guli-

Hubby and I are also going to see this movie tonight!

Does anyone know what the BO was from last night and today? Peace

Sources tell The Daily News that contrary to denials, Angie has given birth to her twins. “They’re waiting till the babies are bigger and stronger before they allow anyone to take their picture,” a source told the paper
+++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++

That should read: They’re waiting till the babies are bigger and stronger before they allow anyone to take their picture,” a liar,/b> told the paper

The movie was fine, but what the heck is wrong with angelina, she looks awfully thin and thats with the camera adding 10 lbs on.

If I was a man,I wouldn’t mind been beaten to the gound by Angelina Jolie.I mean, that must be a fantasy of millions of men around the world! :)
Right? ;)

you may not know this but this was filmed shortly after Angelina’s mom passed away. If you remember she was very thin during that time. But Angelina is such a trooper and a strong woman. She did all of her own stunts in the film. Very few actresses do this.

UGLY OVER-RATED WH*RE

I agree that Angelina is a very good actress. She has always been smart about her career, She’s done movies that are pure fun and those that are meaningful to her and challenging. A good mix of those makes a very satisfying and lucrative career. Thanks to the talent she has she doesn’t have to be a one-dimensional actress. I remember her saying that she let’s her manager know what type of movie she is looking to do. At the time she got Wanted, she had made 2 very serious and taxing movies, given birth to Shiloh and lost her mother. She wanted something that was very physical. Well, she got it. Hope she has much success with this movie and the twins.

This movie was great! The crowd was out at the theater I went to. Some people had their young kids there, don’t know why! Not appropriate. The movie rock, heard one guy say “This was a really enjoyable movie”. Angie looks great and her a** rocks. She is a major part of the movie. Loved it! Will prob go and see again with hubby. Will buy will come out on dvd.
Really a twist at the end. The guys loved it. I could tell when I got there who was going to “Wanted”, there was a line when I arrived and notice the couples coming in and the guys coming in and they were buying “Wanted” tickets.

Hiya vicki! how are you? hope everything is well with you. Hugging you back!!!!!!!!

4 more hours until Wanted. I can’t wait………YEAH!!!!!!!!

Back from the movie and I loved it! It was such fun.

Just saw Wanted. It is a very entertaining movie, lots of laughs and actions. AJ is one lean, mean fighting machine. She is very flexible in the movie and appropriate size for all the mind bending stunts. James is a cutie and kicks some buts. Who knew Morgan Freeman had such comic timing. Common is fine and a good actor. Go see Wanted. Ignore the hens. They are still waiting on the VHS release of “He ain’t thinking about your whiny ass”. Peace to all.

I’m in the middle of getting ready to go see this movie now - I took time out between shoes and make-up to check in on Just Jared.

I know this’ll be one of the hottest (if not THE hottest) movies of the year. I’m way past excited!

Oh, yes! Angie is Lara Croft, Jane Smith and Fox in one!

You guys it was pretty good. Great action scence McAvoy is good with his delivery and expressions. And ANGELINA IS STILL THE ****! She exudes a subtle sexy that is powerful enough to stop you in your tracks..Skinny or not Love her and cant wait for dvd

True Fans - including myself are not swayed by TABs or PAPZ at the check-out stands or on any threads. I cannot believe the amount of time that is spent on NON - SENSE!!! Easy to Ignore because it’s so untrue and simply mean spirited. Bless and release - put energy towards the best for JP Family AND YOUR OWN FAMILIES!!!

Saw Wanted yesterday here in Singapore - it was very good! I only watched it because of Angie, I love her! She was so cool, so beautiful in the movie. Yes, the bare-a** shot was brief and very artsy. She’s got a really good body - she’s skinny but not in an eating-disorder way.

Thanks for the new thread Jared  . Great to see that everyone loves Wanted.

FM Early Early friday WallE w/20+ (at least)
FRIDAY 3:30 p.m. (Pacific): There will be much celebration in Hollywood this weekend as both of the new wide releases are scoring big. I have spoken with 2 sources at competing studios who tell me that Pixar’s perfectly-reviewed Wall-E (Disney) is off to a meteoric start, much stronger start than last year’s Ratatouille. The new animated masterpiece, already described by many critics as the likely winner of the next animation Oscar, will almost certainly top $20M on opening day. One source says $60M+ for the weekend and the other says that early numbers suggest $70M+ for the 3-day.

If the movie exceeds $70.4M this weekend, it will become the all-time best Pixar opening, which will put it above such classics as The Incredibles ($70.4M), Finding Nemo ($70.2M) and Monsters, Inc. ($62.5M).

Meanwhile, early numbers indicate that Wanted (Universal), starring Angelina Jolie, James McAvoy and Morgan Freeman, has a real shot at $40M, which would be the all-time biggest opening for an R-rated movie in the month of June, topping last year’s Knocked Up. It would also mark the all-time overall 10th-best opening for an R-rated movie.

i’m interested in seeing this movie. it looks like pure fun, eye candy. hope it does well at the box office this weekend.

Just saw “Wanted” and nobody , I mean nobody could do a better job than “ANGELINA JOLIE” !
I hope she got paid well. She carried the whole movie with ease.
I don’t understand how can somebody compare Jennifer Aniston with her, especially in acting ability.
While Angelina is having Clint Eastwood as a director in Changeling, Jennifer is having “Norman” as his leading man in Marley and Me.
Imagine having a dog as the top billing in your movie and the trailer was so degrading to both her and Owen Wilson. I don’t even want to mention HE IS NOT INTO YOU with Ben Aflac. She is with an ensemble and it might make a lot of money at the office box but is it of any substance?
Jennifer should watch Wanted and then Changeling, maybe she’ll learn how to act from Angelina.

passing Through @ 06/27/2008 at 8:54 pm

I just got back from seeing Wanted half an hour ago. The theater was about half full because it was a 5pm showing. I saw the movie was listed as being 1 hour 40 mins. but it sure didn’t feel like almost 2 hours. It went by very quickly. I enjoyed it and thought it was very well executed and creative, especially with the slow mo and bullet close-ups. People were gasping at some some of the effects…big laughs when Wesley smacked his best friend with the keyboard…some oohs and aahs at Angie’s ass…a guy in front of chuckling gleefully at Wesley’s big revenge scene…the train wreck got some gasps…

…but my favorite moment was after the movie ended. Two college-age girls were sitting behind me. As they were getting up to leave one girl turns to the other and says, “Gosh, that was a LOT of shooting!” The other girl says, “I didn’t mind all the shooing, but I couldn’t stand all the knives and cutting! That was gross!” I was ROTFL. She didn’t mind watching bullets ripping through head and hearts, oozing and spatter blood, guts and brain matter…for almost 2 hours…but the knife fights/training, which were filmed in shadowy darkness, icked her out? Too funny…

#21: TLOL: I’m back! Just got out of the theater and when I looked at the threads, there was hardly anyone there. Should have known there’ll be a new one.

Loved Angie in the movie. Loved it when she put the beat down on Wesley. It was the continuation of the scene in MAMS, when she hit the kid with a phone on the head. She was cool, she was bad and she rocked. Her backside scene should have been longer. It was too short although they did show the whole thing. I wanted to read her tats.

One would think a mother of four children plus two more children nearly birthed, i.e. SIX CHILDREN, would more consciously choose non-violent roles as an appropriate mirror for her growing children.

#41: Geez, I wonder why this is the only movie where the disbelief isn’t suspended. It’s a COMIC BOOK adaptation. Why don’t they say this about Batman, Iron Man, The Hulk? All the previews were action films. Now tell me if those action pictures are all believable when you’ve got the Punisher and the Mummy using the same CGI and the heroes are doing stunts that defy the imagination!

I read somewhere where a fan was wondering why some people are trying to wish this movie to become a failure in the BO? It’s like there’s a conspiracy to discourage people from enjoying or seeing Wanted

Check out aintitcool and rotten tomatoes. The negative reviews from ornery critics are getting pelted by the readers for being jerks. What? they’d rather believe Hostel and Saw as closer to real life? Yeah, I’m sure.

What can I say? I DEFINITELY LOVED IT!!!
It’s a jawdropping, eyepopping movie. Angie was soooo cool, beautiful, sexy and mean. The woman who was sitting next to me quipped, “hontouni, kirei dane?” ( she is really beautiful, isn’t she?). I felt proud. Everytime she appears on the screen, the scene was magnified, her beauty excudes. She doesn’t talk much but you can really feel her presence. When she sneers? She looks cold but sexy and dangerous… I love her butt! I WILL see it again next week. All in all. . . . . WANTED IS AWESOME!!!

WHAT A MOVIE!!! OMG Wanted really kicked ass!!!!!!! This movie is awesome!! I definitely will see it again tomorrow with my girl friend. I can’t imagine anyone else besides Angie can play this Fox role with much fierce, elegant and lethal. If anyone here hasn’t seen it, what are you waiting for?. So far this summer, I put Wanted, Iron man in the top 2 spot. I will wait for the Dark Knight in July to see if it delivers.

I can see Wanted easily will make around $40K in 3 days behind Wall-e of course. Congrats to Angie for the job well done!!!!!!!!!!!

kiki, actually a father taking a drawing his child made and having a piece of jewelery made in it’s likeness is a wonderful affirming thing to do for the child. i would say it is very good parenting. he is showing his son that he is proud of his talent. giving the gift to the mother of the child is even more special. so maybe if you didn’t see things pertaining to this family through a haze of jealousy and rancor you would see that.

One thing that really stood out in the trailers shown right before Wanted started - all these big budget summer action flicks…and ALL the women’s roles are girlfriends, love interest or in Joan Allen’s case - bad guy/girl. None of them were participating in the action. They stood off to the side and looked hot, available or scared…in that order.

++++++++++++++++

Lou -

I had a little Star Wars deja vu moment at one point…and I’m sure you’ll know when it was…

The chick that played Wesley’s boss was cracking me up whenever she’d click that stapler. And I was LOL at the way all his co-workers stood up and looked over their cubicles to see him chewing out the b#tchy boss…

Another thing I found interesting about the audience reactions - there were quite a few college age girls in the crowd…slurping and giggling at James McAvoy…especially the scene where he had his shirt off. So I think he was very much part of the draw for a certain crowd. Several of the people around me had seen Atonement and commented they couldn’t believe this was “the same sweet guy!” I didn’t hear any grumblings afterwards that McAvoy wasn’t believable.

I definintely think there’s another movie’s worth of material here…but three would be a stretch. I remember reading that McAvoy was signed to a 3-picture deal and even he said he didn’t think there’d be more than 2.

Oh yeah…one last cute thing…don’t know if others caught it or not. Just before the conclusion when “Wesley” was sitting at his desk…Did you read the nameplate? It said “J. G. Millar”. I thought that was a nice touch.

I just saw the movie Wanted and let me tell you, it’s one action pack movie that never lets up. The movie theater was packed to the max. There were about four movie theater showing the movie consecutively and every theater was packed. People were talking about how highly anticipated this movie was because of Angelina. Although all actors were quite good in it. My husband and I were wondering if there was anyone else who could have played the role of FOX and we could not see anyone else in this role. Angie was so amazing in this movie as well as all her movies. She is a method actress. This movie is going to probably open with a band this weekend. I think it will either be number 1 or close to it. It is that good!

I thought the best part about McAvoy playing the role was that it’s unexpected. He did say he auditioned for it once and didn’t get the part. Then they tested a bunch of other actors who were bigger and buffer and didn’t find any of them believable as the wimpy Wesley at the beginning of the movie. I thought McAvoy was good at progressing believably from wimp to assassin.

So I saw the movie: Jolie is super hot in it. The plot was your usual, which I was disappointed in.

Also, if Brad and Ang did indeed have their twins already, why would they lie? What would be the point in it? You don’t have to confirm the report but don’t deny it either.

“J. G. Millar”. I thought that was a nice touch.

Speaking of other comic book adaptations… Saw the trailer for “The Dark Knight”. Would it be illegal to kidnap Christian Bale and keep him tied to my bed? Prolly, huh?

As for the trailer itself - looks good…but overall I wasn’t that impressed with Heath Ledger’s Joker. I know we’re supposed to fall all over ourselves complimenting him in the role because he’s dead…but…I just didn’t buy it. I actually found Aaron Eckhart as Harvey Dent aka TwoFace to be a bit more interesting. The Joker, for me anyway, is just played out.

Oh yeah…Maggie Gyllenhall. Snooze-o-rama. She had one facial expression in the entire trailer. She looked bored to me, but then again…she ALWAYS looks bored to me.

that movie sucked. angie was hot though!

Before I forget - one thing I wanted to say about Angie kicking ass in this movie…She did most of her stunts in heels! LOL! Did you guys see that 4 inch stacked heel on her boots in the 2 train scenes? And stilettos when she was driving the car? More high heels when she was beating the shite out of him? When the MEN have to do their stunts in heels…then they’ll be truly be kicking ass! Put Will Smith in some 4 or 5 inch Louboutins and see how well he does!

I hope if there is a sequal, they will find a way to include fox( Angelina ) in it. I think I heard thatat the end there is also a picture of Fox on the desk. I can’t wait to see it tommorrow.

What sane woman would pretend to be pregnant for months on end and for what reason?
*****************************************************************

Nobody in their right mind would fake a pregnancy; the lie is too easily exposed. They’ve been saying the same sh*t about Nicole Kidman also ever since she announced she was pregnant. The haters are going to hate, no matter what. Don’t sweat it.

But this insanity about the twins’ impending arrival is getting totally out of hand. I’m just waiting for the day when they’re born and some newscaster on prime time TV intones, “We interrupt our regularly scheduled programming to bring you this important announcement…”

ET has provided the fuel for the FF vendetta against Angie and Brad to flare up. Those hatefilled bitc*es are constantly rooting around for anything no matter how farfetched and illogical to rant about. I don’t think they are even true X fans, they have just cloaked themselves in that mantle for convenience. They are true haters who are sick sick sick. All ET had to do was retract their lie and say everyone makes a mistake sometimes in life.

X fans are all over the place busily pushing X and JohnBoy up for “in love couple of the year”, they will come here to defend her, but they are not wishing ill of the babies. Most of the X fans have moved on, they pine for the past, but are sane and know that the past is just that, over and done with. They are not happy to see Brad so in love with Angie and their kids, but they accept the fact that he is.

Now the FF coven is truly evil, truly devoid of any humanity, truly lacking any ability to see the world as it is. Those women are full of poisonous hate for no reason at all toward people who have caused them no harm.

Seeing Angie so happy with Brad, so happy being a mom, so happy being pregnant with twins, so radiant and glowing at Cannes hand in hand with a loving proud Brad, had already pushed the FF’s near the edge, but now the success of movie after movie and the ET fiasco has pushed them to exploid.

FF’s are the most insane group of fanatics in the known universe.

Just my rant for this nite.

Timur Bekmambetov on ‘Wanted’

Director puts new spin on action formula
By JEFF SNEIDER
Variety

excerpt

After Angelina Jolie signed on for a $15-million payday as a superstar assassin, the movie was a go. “Angelina was helpful and honestly, this movie happened because of her,” says Bekmambetov.

“Not only is she beautiful, determined, focused, smart and athletic, but she’s also feminine and charming. She was also tough as nails during the creative process.”

Its unbelievable how one woman can do so many things. Angie has fulfilled much in her life that no other individual can attest to. She is blessed in every sense of the word and she is very much aware of it. Whatever Brad saw and sees in Angie is magical for him and has made him an extremely happy completely lovedup satisfied man. Brad cleaves to Angie as if he and she are the opposite poles of the most powerful magnet, you can’t pull them apart. Angie is the love of Brad’s life and the mother of his soon to be 6 kids. Angie is the home of Brad’s heart.

Of course you can’t see Angie’s magical aura because you are not Brad, it shines for him and him alone.

The Dom ina trix: Angelina Jolie crushes James McAvoy like a bug in Wanted.

Dana Stevens

When I first heard that Angelina Jolie and James McAvoy would be paired up in an action movie this summer, I remember scoffing about what an unsexy couple they’d make. I believe my exact words were, “She’ll crush him like a bug.” “Sounds pretty sexy to me,” said my interlocutor, giving me an unsolicited yet bracing glimpse into his fantasy life.

He was right. For those whose fantasies include being crushed like bugs by Angelina Jolie (or beaten senseless by hulking Russian thugs, or forced to use dead pigs for target practice by Morgan Freeman), Wanted (Universal Pictures) is a compendium of bedside erotica. I don’t know when I’ve seen a mainstream movie that so explicitly caters to the S&M niche. And the chemistry of the central couple, which seemed destined to bring the movie down, is instead the hottest thing in this effects-laden but ultimately empty film.

McAvoy is the delicate-faced, slight-framed Scotsman who seems born to play victims and pushovers. (In the last few years, he’s been Idi Amin’s personal physician in The Last King of Scotland , the sacrificial faun in The Lion, The Witch and the Wardrobe , and the young swain unjustly accused of child rape in Atonement. ) And Jolie is, well, Angelina Jolie, the closest thing we have to a real-life superhero. Just think about it: She seems to be everywhere at once, never ages, travels the world crusading for right, and can easily be pictured crouched atop a gargoyle on the Chrysler Building. Perhaps the ultimate coup of Jolie stunt casting was the role of Grendel’s mother, the gorgeous she-monster of Robert Zemeckis’ Beowulf . But Fox, the infallible superassassin she plays here, comes in as a close second.

Wanted ’s plot is an overripe brew of elements from The Matrix , Fight Club , and The Da Vinci Code . Centuries ago, it seems, a guild of ancient weavers formed a secret society known as the Fraternity, a band of killers with otherworldly gifts (they can curve the trajectory of a bullet, for example, or heal their wounds overnight in tubs filled with a special molten wax). A textile mill in modern-day Chicago is the last outpost for the society, whose members consult the Loom of Fate (no, seriously) for woven-in-code tips on whom to kill next. None of this has anything to do with Wesley Gibson (McAvoy), a timid accountant prone to anxiety attacks, until he’s spectacularly kidnapped by Fox (Jolie) and forced to undergo Fraternity hazing—that is, training.

It’s during these long training sequences that the movie’s semisecret BDSM subtext is at its clearest. “Not too tight, right?” asks a Fraternity minion, tying the wimpy Wesley to a chair for one of many brutal interrogations as Fox looks coolly on. “No, that’s … nice,” replies our hero, pausing just long enough to get a big laugh from the audience. Plenty of movies (most disturbingly, the new breed of “extreme horror” movies like Hostel and Saw ) offer kicks by portraying the suffering of others. But watching someone get his kicks from suffering—especially when that someone is the male action hero with whom the male target audience is presumably meant to identify—is a perverse and refreshing turnabout.

When Wesley, in his words, “grows a pair” and becomes a full-fledged member of the Fraternity, bending bullets and decoding fabric swatches with the best of them, Wanted gets less kinky and a lot less interesting. Timur Bekmambetov, the Russian director of the visually spectacular thrillers Night Watch and Day Watch , loves to tease the audience with slo-mo, reverse motion, close-up bullet-cam, and other hammy tricks. Some of these impress by their sheer audacity: After a bad guy gets shot, for example, we watch the bullet travel backwards, out of his skull and back through space and time, into the gun barrel of the man who shot him. Wanted is based on a series of comic books by Mark Millar and J.G. Jones that are apparently so dark and amoral as to make this movie’s mayhem seem positively Amish. Myself, I prefer action films in which the stunts, however unlikely, adhere to at least some of the laws of physics. But if the graphic-novel-style hyperviolence of Sin City or 300 is your thing, go ahead and knock yourself out. Or let Angelina do it for you … It feels so much nicer that way.

EARLY NUMBERS: ‘WALL-E’ may be Pixar’s biggest opening ever! Robot tale headed for $20M+ Friday and possibly $70M 3-day! Jolie’s ‘Wanted’ strong and could reach $40M opening!

by Steve Mason

I will go online with Early Friday & 3-Day Estimates later tonight.

I saw the movie and it totally ROCKED!!!!!!!!!!!! ANGIE WAS SOOO HOT HOT HOT!

Jolie hits the mark in ‘Wanted’
By Roger Moore

Cheekbones, eye shadow, tattoos and lips — that’s the essence of Angelina Jolie.

And guns. At least, that’s what the skinny action heroine amounts to in “Wanted,” a nervy, stylish and deeply silly movie about a clan of assassins training its newest recruit.

James McAvoy is that recruit, a downtrodden Chicago cubicle drone who suffers from anxiety attacks and apologizes for everything. Until, that is, “Fox” (Jolie, natch) shows up and “rescues” him from his dull life of victimhood, shows him “your long-awaited destiny to join us” and teaches him to use “the weapons of fate.”

In lesser hands, this amoral shoot-’em-up might have been as goofy as those portentous, pretentious pronouncements from the Fraternity, Morgan Freeman. But with two Oscar-winners finessing the most ludicrous lines and the Kazakh cult hero Timur Bekmambetov (the Russian vampire movies “Night Watch” and “Day Watch”) directing, shooting and editing this into a too-cool, too-manic seizure-inducing blur, “Wanted” hurtles past our eyes and ears too fast to register as much more than a video game.

McAvoy (”Atonement,” “Last King of Scotland”) plays Wesley, who never knew his father. Since his father was a member of this time-slowing, bullet-bending clan of genetic freaks, that makes Wesley special and recruitable.

The Fraternity drags him into a castlelike textile mill where they beat him, cut him and teach him to put topspin on bullets, all so that they can assassinate those Chicagoans and others in need of assassinating.

The Fraternity was founded by a weavers guild a thousand years ago, Sloan (Freeman) intones. They don’t question those who are chosen for death, don’t fret over moral details. They just run their looms and read their fabric swatches (!?) and do their duty. Once he’s seen how cool, cruel and confident their training makes him, Wesley is down for their mission. He is to “kill the man who gunned down your father.” Eventually.

The car chases and shoot-outs are epic, with Fox taking the new lad out for the occasional joy ride in a stolen car or jaunt along the roof of an El train. Jolie really sells these stunts and effects. But the training, the tedious superhuman/supernatural explanations and “Empire Strikes Back”/Bible Code plot twists bog the picture down.

And then there’s that whole troubling mission thing, shooting people you don’t know.

“We don’t know how far the ripples of our decisions go,” Wesley is told. True. But is that a justification for gunning down somebody you’ve never met and know nothing about? Maybe in the graphic novel this was based on, or in first-person-shooter video-game ethics, that “Don’t ask, don’t think about it” works.

The visual verve makes “Wanted” a fine Hollywood calling card for Bekmambetov, who is ready for a Bourne film or whatever action picture the studios can dream up. McAvoy, the diminutive Scot, makes a decent action hero.

But “Wanted” is, more than anything, proof that no woman in film history has handled a gun with as much exotic panache as the once-and-future “Tomb Raider.” It’s Jolie’s pistol-packing mama-to-be world, and we’re all just innocent bystanders, hoping we duck in time.

Anyone else having problems refreshing?

You are an idiot and if I am reading this correct, you think Aniston is a great actress and a humantarian. What the hell have you been smoking?

Deadline Hollywood

Universal is hoping for at least $35M and maybe even $40M from 3,175 venues for Wanted’s Fri/Sat/Sun total. My box office gurus are projecting $40M to $42M. “In terms of comps, that would be an extraordinary result for an R-rated summer action movie,” a source tells me. “So anything above $35M is absolutely a franchise.”

The appeal for well-reviewed Wanted is a surprise: women want to see it as almost as much as men, young and old are coming in nearly even, and relative newcomer McAvoy is almost as much of a draw for the film as veteran Jolie.

Why would Angelina not be in a sequel. You better not be telling me that she dies at the end of this one. Surely no one would give away the ending to a movie we haven’t seen yet.

ReelzChannel had the Dailies Weekend show and they devoted their hour long show on Walle & Wanted. They had interviews with Angelina and a disucssion on Wanted. They really loved talking about how Angelina did in this film and how they like the movies she’s choosing to do. One guy said that she needs a hit and the others said “need” a hit? Then they dove into the fact that Angelina has an Oscar already and has hits already on her resume. They also mentioned that she voiced in the hits Kung Fu Panda and was in Beowulf. They said she can pick and choose whatever she wants to do at her leisure. She doesn’t “need” to do anything since she’s already done everything. One of the guys said that maybe the guy was confused and meant that Nicole Kidman needed the hit! I was loving it. then the guy who said she needed , then went into how he like that she alternates film genres. They really enjoyed the film and discussing it as well. it was all in good fun.

Dailies Weekend is playing thoughout the weekend on ReelzChannel or you can check out interviews and videos of early fan reaction here:

goodnight

Some clips shown on trailers were deleted. But that bare back body and butt of Jolie was there although just milli-seconds frame. But wow ! On that scene, her body is not bony at all, specially that curve from the waist down.

Now I am thinking of Aniston’s cheesy pool pics, and really - Jolie’s curve is just out of this world, just no comparison. One is cheesy and the other is exotic and classy, despite of or maybe even with the tattoos.

BTW, BO early figures shows for 06-27-08 - Wall-E was shown in 3992 theaters targeting parents with their kids, while Wanted opened @ 3175 theathers to cater on HS and older viewers. Wall-E is rated PG and Wanted is rated R. Big difference !

Despite R rating and lesser theater release , Wanted is top rated to garner BO !

Filmgoers Go Wild For ‘Wall-E’ And ‘Wanted’

FRIDAY PM: Sources tell me that very early North American box office numbers show that Disney / Pixar’s Wall-E took in low $20sM Friday from 3,992 theaters for what should be a low $60sM opening weekend. And Universal’s Angelina Jolie/James McAvoy starrer Wanted debuted to $15M Friday from 3,175 venues for what should be a bigger than expected $45+M weekend. More complete #s later. For full analysis, see my Wkd Prediction: Robot $70M, Angie $40M.

I was really careful to be generic when discussing the scenes I mentioned because I didn’t want to spoil it for anyone who hadn’t seen it. I don’t want people to see your post and assume that I was the one who spilled the beans.

Over on JJB’s there is a picture of Angie’s bottom from Gia. Heck I see why Brad is always squeezing, patting, rubbing, grabbing, pinching, clinging to and other wise loving it up. I tried to bring it over to this thread but I couldn’t. Therefore if someone else could bring it I over we could see what the critics are swooning over. Peace

++++++++++++++++

I saw the pic. I’ll see if I can post the link. And yes, it’s pretty obviously why Brad has his hands all over her ass all the time.

TO # 111 FF Haters at LA Times OMG —YOU ARE RIGHT WE CAN’T GET THROUGH WITH OUR SUPPORT OF ANGELINA, OH WELL, PEOPLE ARE INDEED CRAZY.

This is a funny review of Wanted that I brought over from JJB.

I Want to **** This Movie
Wanted / Dustin Rowles

What do you get when you combine the sultriest pair of hips and lips in Hollywood, seemingly tethered together only by body art; blood splatters that course with viscous glee; enough cold, hard steel to resurrect Heston; bullets that curve; joyous holes in the head; and a hot, slathering mess of McAvoy? You get Wanted, a movie you want to take behind the middle school and impregnate. With twins.
Watching Wanted, it’s obvious where screenwriters Michael Brandt and Derek Haas got their inspiration: 1999. Inarguably, the three best films of the Clinton years were made in that year, and that cinematic trinity flows through Wanted like a purple midget eating monster at a Prince concert at the turn of the millennium. It has that Damn It Feels Good to Be a Gangsta anti-cubicle **** you vibe of Office Space, the struggle for individuality spirit and light-hearted brutality of Fight Club, and a brand of action-movie Waschowskism that hasn’t felt this fresh since The Matrix, even if director Timur Bekmambetov owes a huge debt to that movie. Throw in a dash of last year’s Ratatouille (you’ll understand), and you have the symphonic awesomeness of Wanted, an orgy of bullets, blood, and toned flesh that will break open your anal capillaries like a Crisco-free Saturday night up on Brokeback.
Wesley Gibson (James McAvoy) is an *******, a nobody, an insignificant peon in the corporate world charged with manufacturing bullshit reports while his mouth-breathing, jelly-donut eating tub of a boss stands over him popping a stapler in his ear. Wesley is miserable, living out the same-sameness of his life knowing that his best friend is boning his girlfriend on top of his cheap IKEA furniture during lunch breaks. But Wesley persists with a nancied approach to his existence, staving off the occasional panic attack with cheap generic pharmaceuticals subsidized by his cubicle overlords. Then on a day he actually manages to get out of the drug store without buying his BFF condoms to thrust into his girlfriend, he’s approached by Fox (Angelina Jolie) and told that his father, the second best assassin in the world, was just killed by the best, who’s about to put Wesley into the cold, cold ground. Cut to: One of the most inspired action sequences in years, a car-chase shootout that has Wesley with his hands on the steering wheel and his face in a crotch-full of Jolie as she’s Tawney Kitaening a sports car while simultaneously unleashing a shock-and-awe spray of bullets toward her target.
In other words, it was just the sort of relaxing evening that Wesley needed to break loose from his corporate shackles and wake up the next morning to jackhammer a series of go **** yourselves into the temples of his friends and colleagues at the ole’ land of partitions and expense reports.
Wesley is thereafter invited by Sloan (Morgan Freeman), the head of The Fraternity - a tight-knit group of super-killer assassins - to come into the fold with the intent of being trained to ultimately take out his father’s killer. The Fraternity’s mission statement, if you will, is simply to assassinate bad motherfuckers with the hope that one death today saves a thousand lives down the line. Their targets are coughed up by The Loom of Fate, an automatied loom that spits up binary code containing the names of their targets. Implicitly, there are three rules of the Fraternity: 1) Never question (The Loom of) Fate; 2) Never question (The Loom of) Fate; and most importantly, 3) Never question (The Loom of) Fate. Likewise, never question the logic of Wanted, because if you pause long enough to consider it, the narrative would unspool like a runaway roll of Charmin. Fortunately, the breathtaking action - bullets, fists, and knives (oh my!) - never lets up long enough to allow you to question the preposterousness, and by the time you’ve left the theater holding a folder over your cinematic erection, you don’t give a **** that you’ve been duped by a machine-gun blasted series of scenes that are as unrelentingly preposterous as they are unrelentingly, insanely bad ass. Indeed, once the origins story and the training sequence is over, the narrative of Wanted feels as though it’s about to level out and find a formulaic groove, but then - in a movie you never expect it from - it wallops you with a twist that turns the entire movie on its head, adding more than enough adrenaline to rock out with your **** out / jam out with your clam out past the finish line.
I’ve always been relatively indifferent to Angelina Jolie, but I’ll concede that few do tough-sexy as well as she does, and in Wanted, she finally reaches her fullest tough-sexy potential - she waves around a gun in ways that would make Freud weep with ****** envy. Without giving too much away, Morgan Freeman finally gets a role like buttered ass that he can sink his teeth into - it’s been so long since he’s played anything but wise and grizzled moral center that you almost forget that it’s actually possible to feature Freeman in a movie in which he doesn’t also narrate. He also delivers the best line in the entire film, a crowd-pleasing turn of phrase we’ve been waiting decades for him to deliver - if you don’t pump your fist, just a little, you’re dead inside. But the show belongs to James McAvoy: A blood-soaked, pint-size, white-collar Statham who somehow manages to fly through the breakneck Wanted without snapping his spine. He’s a total nerds-of-steel kind of action hero: Bale’s steaminess, Bourne’s fluidity, a hint of the Sam Rockwellian wiseacre, and the tiniest dab of that Nick Frost’s what-the-hell-am-I doing-in-an action-movie attitude.
The true surprise, however, is Timur Bekmambetov; minutes into Wanted, I kept wracking my brain to remember who the director was, because obviously a man with this much stylistic flair, this much visual creativity, and this much total disregard for the laws of physics would surely be a name familiar to me and everyone else. It wasn’t until I got home and iMDB’d the Russian-Kazakh Bekmambetov before I started punching myself in the nose for missing both Night Watch and the lesser Day Watch. The guy is balls-to-the-ceiling talented, a filmmaker who can not only put together a jaw-dropping action sequence, but a man who can give you a Looney Tunes action movie without making it feel like a Looney Tunes action movie. Wanted is also a comic-book movie, but you’d never ******* know it.
Indeed, it’s been a long two months since Iron Man, but Wanted is finally a film that can make you forget about Marvel Studios for a while and move on with your cinematic life, comfortable in knowing that your 2008 summer love affair with action movies doesn’t have to be monogamous. So go ahead, folks: Spread that seed. After all, Iron Man is a movie you can make love to, but Wanted is a movie you’re gonna wanna ****, with a **** ring, on top of a fast-moving train.

I THINK WE SHOULD GO ON OTHER SITES AND REPORT ABOUT HOW UNFAIR SNEAD IS BEING TO ANGELINA, WHAT DO YOU THINK?

IT’S BEEN UPDATED

Wall-E took in $23M Friday from 3,992 theaters for what should be high $60sM opening weekend including the Saturday matinee bump. This means Wall-E is big, but maybe not the biggest Pixar (which was The Incredibles at $70.5M). In the No. 2 place, Universal’s Angelina Jolie/James McAvoy starrer Wanted debuted to $18.5M Friday from 3,175 venues for what should be a bigger than expected $50+M weekend. (The studio only expected $35+M.) For full analysis, see my Wkd Prediction: Robot $70M, Angie $40M.

passing Through, thank you for bringing it over. Apparently I was doing something wrong. If you look at that picture Angie is thin. Her behind is probably the biggest thing, mayber other than her breast, on her. Brad is probably envied now for having Angie. If you look at pictures of men greeting Angie most of them are trying to sneak a kiss on the side. I think of Oliver Stone in particular. Now they will probably be trying to brush across her azz. to see how her azz feels.

Brad didn’t have this problem with his x wife and girlfriends. No one was trying to kiss them of brush their butts. Brad has the hottest woman in HW. Boy I bet he will try to keep her barefoot and pregnant.

It think it is amazing that this woman has made in the last year or so movies that are so polar opposite of one another and yet she excells in all of them. We can go back to TGS, AMH, Beowulf, KFP, Wanted, and Changeling. As Clint Eastwood said there is no other actress like her in HW. Not only when it comes to acting, but beauty wise. She is unique and there is no one else like her. And Brad has her all to himself with six children. And she is a do gooder also.

I will see it tomorrow. I plan on going to the 11:30 am show. Maybe tomorrow more people will have seen it and we can go to another thread for discussions like we did for TAOJJ. For those who saw it today thank you for your feed back. I personally don’t care if I am told about the movie. I know not everyone is that way and they should be respected. But no matter if I know what is going to happen, I am still surprised. It doesn’t matter to me. Good night. Peace

Just got back from Wanted and d@mn!! It was very good. My heart was pounding throughout the whole thing. It’s worth seeing, even if action isn’t your thing.

I had the distinct pleasure of seeing it with the latenight crowd, which consisted of teenagers and college kids; for once, they made the moviegoing experience better. Some snuck in; most of them talked to the screen. My people… during the kissing scene, one of the dudes who snuck in, said, in a very hater tone ‘lucky muthafcuka’ and everyone in the theater cracked up. My people, my people, my people…

I won’t add any spoilers, but for those who know about the talking thing and people of my persuasion, this time the talking to the screen was justified.

As for Angelina’s bottom, yes, Angelina was thin last year, but she had some meat back there. That scene was film evidence that Angelina didn’t wear contouring garments during the LA O13 red carpet, something wingnut ___ fans accused her of. Speaking of wingnuts, that medialady is one of the biggest crackpots in the blogosphere. I tried to watch one of her ‘informative’ videos on youtube — completely unwatchable, and I suspect that her posts are unreadable, her face unbearable, and her insanity unavoidable.

But back to Angelina… she kicked such @$$ in this movie. As for McAvoy, it took me a while to warm up to his character. He was very wussy. And yeah, I noticed the Fox pic on the cubicle wall.

Just saw Morgan Freeman on Letterman. When DL mentioned Angelina’s name as being one of the actors in the film, MF clapped (and the audience joined in with him), then he said: “If she ever gets tired of Brad…” and pointed to his chest as if saying “then I am next in line”. Then, DL did the bump thing with him. It was cute.

WALL-E MANIA! With $23M Friday & a likely $66M weekend,

‘WALL-E’ scores 3rd-biggest Pixar opening ever!; ‘Wanted’ blows past expectations with $18.5M Friday & $48M weekend for all-time 7th-best R-rated opening!

by Steve Mason

There is plenty of good news to go around this weekend as Universal has scored huge with Wanted, starring Oscar winner Angelina Jolie and quickly rising actor James McAvoy. With a strong R-rating, Wanted is aimed at grown-ups, especially men, and critics have been generally very positive (74% Fresh on Rotten Tomatoes and 64% Positive on MetaCritic). This high octane Matrix-style action film from Russian director Timur Bekmambetov has grabbed a spectacular $18.5M on Friday, and it is likely headed for $48M by Monday morning. That will easily give Wanted the all-time best June opening for an R-rated movie, coasting past last year’s Universal comedy Knocked Up.

ALL-TIME TOP 5 R-RATED JUNE OPENINGS
1. Wanted - $48M (estimate)
2. Knocked Up - $30.69M
3. The Happening - $30.51M
4. Total Recall - $25.53M
5. The Rock - $25M

Universal will be thinking “franchise,” and they should be. This completely original movie will have posted the all-time 7th-best opening for an R-rated movie.

ALL-TIME BEST TOP 10 R-RATED OPENINGS
1. The Matrix Reloaded – $91.77M
2. The Passion of the Christ – $83.84M
3. 300 – $70.88M
4. Hannibal – $58M
5. 8 Mile – $51.24M
6. Matrix Revolutions – $48.47M
7. Wanted - $48M (estimate)
8. Troy – $46.86M
9. American Pie II - $45.11M
10. American Gangster – $43.56M

And for Jolie, Wanted marks her best live action opening since 2006’s Mr. & Mrs. Smith, and it will likely be her all-time 2nd-best opening.

ALL-TIME TOP 10 LIVE ACTION ANGELINA JOLIE OPENINGS
1. Mr. & Mrs. Smith - $50.34M
2. Wanted - $48M (estimate)
3. Lara Croft: Tomb Raider - $47.73M
4. Gone in 60 Seconds - $25.33M
5. Lara Croft Tomb Raider: The Cradle of Life - $21.78M
6. The Bone Collector - $16.71M
7. Sky Captain and the World of Tomorrow - $15.58M
8. Alexander - $13.68M
9. Taking Lives - $11.45M
10. The Good Shepherd - $9.91M

Warner Bros has a solid grasp on the 3rd spot for the day and the weekend with holdover Get Smart. The PG-13-rated comedy managed an estimated $7M on its 2nd Friday, and it will add about $22.6M for the weekend for a new 10-day cume of $79.86M.

Kung Fu Panda (Dreamworks/Paramount), with plenty of competition from Disney/Pixar’s little robot, is holding up pretty well. Panda grabbed $3.5M on Friday, and it will likely reach $12.1M for the frame. With plans for a sequel underway, the Jack Black-voiced roly poly martial arts trainee will have generated just under $180M by Monday.

************

I don’t know if it will reach to $48 mil but it seems my prediction was right. I said this movie is a ‘ sleeper ‘ because I was confident.
First People didn’t expect much in this film which based on a minor cult comic book. Wanted was not in the category of much anticipated summer movies but people’s interest growed day by day in last three months. I witnessed it at several search sites. Their charts have been kind to this film.

Thanks Konnitiwa for the info. Yes, you were right on. I hope Wanted hits the $50 mil mark by the end of the weekend. That would be so sweet.

**********************************

Oh wow, Wanted is doing so well, I hope it will reach US$ 50, for its 3 day. Lol, I actually think Wall-e is underpeforming as the studio is expecting US$ 71m for opening week end to be its no. 1 biggest opening wk end not just 3rd biggest opening. The production cost is US$ 180m, Wanted is only US$ 65-75m. so its is Wanted who is overperforming!!!!! Yay, for Angie!!!!

Love, love the movie!!!

just a reminder... @ 06/28/2008 at 5:22 am

“WALL-E” is for kids and a lot of kids go see it for their summer movie. And most of the kids especially the younger ones are accompanied by an adult or adults (like parents) to go and sit with them in the theater room. So that means, double or triple-ticket sales. Whereas “Wanted” is strickly for 18 yrs. and up. And maybe only for those who can stomach intense violence.

The movie was ******* awesome!

FRIDAY PM: Sources tell me that very early North American box office numbers show that Disney / Pixar’s Wall-E took in $23M Friday from 3,992 theaters for what should be high $60sM opening weekend including the Saturday matinee bump. This means Wall-E is big, but maybe not the biggest Pixar (which was The Incredibles at $70.5M). Disney is looking for a Best Picture Oscar nomination for the pic, possible with 100% great reviews from top critics and even rival studios bigwigs gushing about the pic: “It’s just adorable and smart and interesting. It has more character development and emotion than any movie I’ve seen this year.” One wrinkle in Wall-E’s marketing was that the 1 hour, 37 minute pic has no dialogue for the first 40 or so minutes. And it can be hard to market a character thatdoesn’t talk.

More and more, films with different ratings and different genres can happily coexist at the box office — Alvin And The Chipmunks and I Am Legend, American Gangster and Bee Movie. In the No. 2 place, Universal’s Angelina Jolie/James McAvoy starrer Wanted debuted to $18.5M Friday from 3,175 venues for what should be a bigger than expected $50+M weekend. (The studio only expected $35+M.) “In terms of comps, that would be an extraordinary result for an R-rated summer action movie,” a source tells me

http://www.deadlinehollywooddaily.com/wall-e-and-wanted-open-big-at-box-office/

just a reminder... @ 06/28/2008 at 6:21 am

need to correct: strictly not strickly

This is the summer of angie, professionally and personally-these numbers for wanted will only increase her bragaining power and salary, the world is at her feet.-nice to be posting again.

The deadlinehollywood people ain’t telling a lie. Wanted will do very well in the long run, if the movie theater keeps an eye out for propped doors ;) . I suspect that people will see this multiple times because of the special effects, the humor, and, hello, Angelina. For all of the talk about Angelina removing a lot of Fox’s dialogue, she was a very compelling character. For me, she picked up a lot of McAvoy’s slack (dude wasn’t bad, but it takes a while for him to grow a pair).

The best thing about this, for fans, is that for all of those people who criticized Angelina for doing this film after ‘promising’ to take a year off, they look like donkeys right now. Add to it all of the videos in Prague when Angelina and Brad were taking care of business while she was doing this… it adds fuel to the fact that these two are doing the right thing by each other and their kids. Angelina and Brad should really feel good about following the beat of their own drummers.

Wanted was a really awsome movie, it’s a must see. Everyone in the theater clapped when it was over, lol. I didn’t get in the first showing (sold out) but the wait was well worth it. Angie was awsome and the guy James McAvoy played it well. Morgan F. part was great as always and I didn’t know he even cursed.

By the way before I went to see this movie a poster said Angie plays a very small part in this, not true.

Jen only plays good girl roles and she’s Americas sweetheart? Please, did you see derailed she did a rape seen, good girl image I think not. Some of my buddies seen Wanted and she was great, hope she and the film get nominated for this.

Please, did you see derailed she did a rape seen, good girl image I think not.
——————————-

I hope you aren’t saying good girls don’t get raped.

Jen sucked in that movie anyway. She wasnt a good girl in that part but NOT because of any rape scene.

Who care about Jen this is Angie’s day.GO ANGELINA

We saw Wanted last night (4 of us) and we loved it! We left with a satisifed feeling, not like the movie was missing something such as when we saw 10,000 BC.

The theatre was packed, but everyone was well-behaved. People reacted positively and at appropriate times, like when Angie was first shown, there were sighs and an overall adoring vibe.

Angie was smokin’, and I do like that she cut alot of her lines, because it does make her more mysterious that she doesn’t talk much. Her butt shot was sultry, and her fanny has a little jiggle to it. Funny, but I could only see Brad’s hand palming it constantly, haha!! People who are saying she is too thin need to be reminded that she has certainly gained some weight recently, hasn’t she? Angie is fine, leave her alone about her weight.

I liked the twists in the story, and there was this one guy behind us, who during the climactic scene towards the end with all the assassins in Sloan’s lair (those of you who have seen it know which one I mean), said out loud “That’s some buuuuuuull *****” and then, “oh, I was about to get pizzed off there for a minute”. It was funny, and everyone seemed to be really enjoying it. Most clapped at the end. Didn’t I read somewhere that there is an additional scene after the credits? I couldn’t get my crew to be patient and wait and see.

I hope they don’t make a sequel. It could easily just be a cult classic just as it is if Hollywood would simply leave it alone. But since when have the suits ever been able to just leave something successful alone?

Love, love the movie!!!

If this is true - production cost for Wall-E is $ 180 m USD, and Wanted is $65-75 (?), then the expected 48 -50 M gross for 3-day weekend will almost cover the production cost.

‘cant be sure if these figures are correct though. If we believe that Jolie was paid $15 M USD, and guessing MF and newcomer McAvoy were paid 8-10 M, and about 10 M more for all the other actors, what about director, writers etc, the stated total production cost of 65-75 seems too low ?

If these are all true - wow ! Wanted is doing fantastic for it’s 3-day run! $ 180 M production cost for animated film, Wall-E should also be doing well and will probably recoup.

And that’s only in the USA. International figures has not come in yet. Wanted is gold - pure gold and that would still be an understatement !

for the next WANTED,a cameo of brads babies momma for a 20 mil paycheck!!!!i hate this bit.ch! to the max!!!!

I saw it last night and these gore fests are not usually my type but it was better than I had expected.

The buzz was good but may women like me did the cover the eyes at some scenes lol.

It’s strange but didn’t this movie seem a little like Fight Club?

I wonder what Quentin Tarantino will think of this film and of Angelina? Has he ever expressed a desire to work woth her? I say this not because I think they should work together but this film could easily have been a Tarantino film.

i saw the movie yesterday with my sisters and they all loved it. my theater was really packed, i think some people could not find seats. eventhough i am not a fan of action movies, ( thye only reason I saw the movie was because of angelina) I loved it to the max, especially the end was so good

Loved the movie and Angelina looks superrr hot. cnt wait till da movie is out on DVD.

I did some checking around the vast webbernet, and hee hee, Good Goddess the Jen fans are squirming and writhing because this movie has people talking and everyone wants to see it. Quite entertaining! haahaa!!

Jen couldn’t create this much buzz or take a movie to this kind of height, creatively or financially, if her neurotic, needy little life depended on it. I know this isn’t only Angie’s movie, but Angie is fortunate that so many interesting and successful people want to work with her. She is an important piece of this movie, and it would be too heavy and masculine if it weren’t for her role. Nobody edgy or up-and-coming, be they actors or directors, want to work with an imbecile like Maniston. Jen’s fans can say this isn’t Angie’s movie all they want. It is just an excuse for them because they don’t want to admit Angie does sexy-cool better than anybody else.

Not sure this has been posted.

I remember way back when they announced she took this role they said she demanded a re-write of Fox, that she wasn’t doing any graphic naked or love/sex scenes that were written in the original. (which is full of sex, orgies, etc)

Bekmambetov, an established auteur in Russia, put his faith in Platt; they developed the story together with writers Michael Brandt & Derek Haas and Chris Morgan. Platt pushed the studio to hire the director’s Russian visual effects company, Bazelevs.
“Marc was very helpful to me,” says the director. “He’s the first Hollywood producer I’ve worked with. Working within another culture, I needed translators, so Marc was like my eyes. It created a good atmosphere to do something unusual and interesting. You always hear stories about how the studio is a monster that imprisons creative people, but that’s just a negative stereotype. I had freedom and support and much more resources.”

Variety

Wanted was awewome! I am so going to see it again with another set of my friends. I’m still reeling. Hot movie.

My husband and I saw the 12:45 showing, there was more people at a mid-day showing than I expected. I thought the movie was very good. Fox was a badass, no doubt about it. I’m not really into McAvoy but I thought he did a decent job but felt that his part could have been played by others but no one could have played Fox but AJ, loved her smirks. Really loved Morgan Freeman

++++++++++++++++++++

++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++

It wasn’t necessairly for me about somone bigger or buffer and I thought he did a decent job but at the end of it I didn’t have that, he could be the only person I could see in that part feeling. Or I didn’t think that part was written (because it suited him so well) for him. With both Morganand AJ I had that feeling.

hello all gorgeous ladies.

ITA! Wesley’s part could have been played by any other actor, like Tobey Mcquire or Shia Lebauff or Jake G. But Fox part, became what it was because of Angelina, its just her original interpretation and cant be done by anybody else. Somebody’s else’s interpretation would come out differently and may not be as cool and badass as Angelina’s.

I can’t see anybody doing justice to Fox character as Angie, she is amazing in all those stunts & she did most of them. She is amazingly beautiful in that movie. Loved ‘Wanted”. I recommend it to all the adults. Go out & see the movie.
God bless the Jolie-Pitts.

I just love Angie. Hope she and Brad and the kids are all doing well. Can’t wait for the twins. God Bless the Jolie Pitt family. Can’t wait to see Wanted. My husband fractured his ankle yesterday so it won’t be this week-end. So keep posting all the good news about the movie PLEASE!!!!!

bermy girl @ 06/28/2008 at 9:37 am

My girlfriend (a fellow Angelina admirer) and I made a promise to see Wanted together, so our hubbies stayed at home with the kids and we went after work.

The movie had us on the edge and alert the whole time. From the opening scene, you didn’t know what was coming next.

Angelina manages tough, deadly, sexy and feminine all at the same time like nobody’s business.

Will definitely see it again with my husband or buy the DVD. The other performances were good and Common was looking quite hunky! I don’t know his music but he is easy on the eye!

The movie will be a big hit. Go Angelina!!!

Hi to all the Jolie Pitt fans.

don’t you love how Angelina plays a charachter called Fox when there is a certain Fox in real life who thinks she’s Angelina?

We love this movie, wanted kicked butt, angie is an icon of her generation.A little OT, my mom thinks angie will give birth on the 4th of july, how cool would that be.

As tiny as she is, I’ve read that she does most if not all of her stuntwork in this movie. Very cool.

Now, that you mentioned it I could definitely see Shia Lebauff playing thag part. Don’t agree with Tobey and Jake’s to pretty boy. But all in all McAvoy did a good job

I’d like to talk about Jolie expressive EYES ! She talks and acts with her eyes - a hallmark of a great actress.

In this movie, Wanted, her lines were surely not limited, but even more vocal and eloquent when need be, just with those EYES. There were times when her STARE alone will make you cringe with terror.
And when she is ANGRY - Good Lord watch out ! She swatted that bullet like no other’s business with those fiery EYES. Her SMIRKS alone - poor McAvoy ! Those EYES spoke those action pack scenes.

And when she was kissing McAvoy - her EYES said it all ! McAvoy’s ****** girl friend run amok with awe !

And when she walked with that bare back, and butt, her EYES seems to be behind her head saying “eat your heart out Jen !. She just have that ability !

EYES that can turn you stone cold, that can evoke sadness, that can be fiery, that can evoke raw sexuality, than can launch a thousand ships, and more …………

Forget about spoken words - ANGELINA’S EYES speak in a more eloquent tone !

Now when we hear it’s a badass movie well we know what to expect. yowza!

Well… i went to see WANTED today.. n it was awesome, fantastic.. love angie as Fox ..the action scenes really good… love it!!!!

the movie was the best so far this year,i was so satisfied

i’m going to see the movie, but not buying the DVD cuz i don’t have a big HD TV and that’s what you really need to appreciate the CG special affects. damn!

the cinema has as many men as women, it was worth every dime

Awwww!

Angelina Jolie’s Missing Body Part: Found!
Fri., Jun. 27, 2008 2:26 PM PDT by Glenn Gaslin

Gregg DeGuire/WireImage.com,Steve Granitz/WireImage.com, Sipa via AP Photo
It was a tough call, but we narrowed down Angelina’s finest features to nine and let E! Online readers debate No. 10. Wow, did you have plenty to say.

Neer writes that her voice “draws anyone to listen intently.” Sportscapper is into her smile. Sailfish argues that “her long shapely legs are the best!” Stoner43 thinks “her kids are her best feature.” And Babysnake’s gotta admit “she has a great head of hair!”

But the most popular choice for Jolie’s 10th-best body part, is…

10. Heart. She’s opened her home to—so far—three orphans from around the world. Most us can’t say the same, and reader Xzavia is impressed: “She is sooo giving of herself.” And Lil argues that “she gives her heart in fighting for those that cannot.” As much as we like her legs, we have to agree.

Feeling complete, Angie?

ITAWY. Did u know back in the day, in some cultures around the world, during the times when a woman couldn’t express themselves and had to remain in the background, a women sexiness was only determined by her eyes and they way she walks. I have a feeling Angie would’ve been very memorable if she lived back in those days, lol!!!

This is worth reposting. “onmyown”, your post is as usual fabulous. I always look forward to your opinions. It always makes me feel good & smile. I like the way you write. Hope you don’t mind, I saved some of your posts for my ready reference in the future, giving you the proper credit of course. I hope people like you will write more often.

About your post “angie’s eyes” in the movie Wanted, yes, I totally agree with you. Every time she’s on the screen, i tend to look at her eyes more than anything else. She really has her unique way with her eyes. The way she stares. It evokes lots of varied emotions. I particularly like the scene where she looks at Morgan after James failed to curve the bullet, & Morgan looks at Angie, no speaking lines on that moment yet the two speak volumes with their eyes “talking”. The movement of their eyes’ pupils are the ones making the conversation. It’s really awesome. For me, the star of the movie is Angie’s eyes, from beginning to end. And she’s the only celebrity i know who can do that, consistently.

It’s so good to see that how much you fans here and in JJB are supporting Angie left and right.but wouldn’t this be more great If you were doing the same for Brad’s movies as well?

most of you saw JJ in DVD,and very little of you decided to talk about that movie or bring reviews of that movie here or in JJB.

It is great to see Angie’s and Brad’s fans are supporting her movies, but why don’t you do the same for Brad’s movies as well here or in JJB?

fcuking dumb Warner Bros.

Celebrity-worship and hero-worship should not be confused. Yet we confuse them every day, and by doing so we come dangerously close to depriving ourselves of all real models. We lose sight of the men and women who do not simply seem great because they are famous but are famous because they are great. We come closer and closer to degrading all fame into notoriety.

Not sure this has been posted.

I remember way back when they announced she took this role they said she demanded a re-write of Fox, that she wasn’t doing any graphic naked or love/sex scenes that were written in the original. (which is full of sex, orgies, etc)
+++++++++++++++++
I remember this.

wow,I was just giving you a comment about my feeling.I didn’t tell that you all are not supporting him.I told sometimes I feel as If some people are giving time and energy to Angie’s things, movies, birthday, and mother’s day, more time and comment and support than they usually do for Brad.

If you are supporting both of them as I do,good for us.is there any problem with giving opinion about something that I sometimes feel with some people here or in JJB??no need for calling me by name If you are not among those partcular people.

Lethal Ladies: 26 Best Big-Screen Bad Girls

Angelina Jolie
Wanted (2008)

Already one of our favorite femmes fatales, Angelina Jolie teaches James McAvoy’s novice killer-for-hire how to be the best he can be (and curve a bullet!) in the new shoot’em-up thriller, Wanted. But is she badder than the baddie she played in Beowulf and deserving of a new spot among our most wanted Bad Girls?

As Angelina Jolie proves in the new thriller ”Wanted,” skin art has a way of marking movie and TV roles in our memories. Here are some of our favorites, from Robert De Niro in ”Cape Fear” to Katee Sackhoff in ”Battlestar Galactica”

ANGELINA JOLIE
Wanted (2008)

Angelina Jolie mixes the old (some of her own real tattoos) with the new (a ”toil” on the underside of one arm and ”tears” on the other…among other faked ink) as part of an age-old fraternity of assassins. She plays Fox (naturally), who’s responsible for showing the ropes (and how to curve a bullet) to James McAvoy’s apprentice hitman.

Hi BAMPZS!

I just watched “Wanted” last night. I happen to be vacationing here in Orlando, Florida and so got to watch Angie at the Universal Studios during the 8:15 pm showing. I could hardly contain my excitement and was real happy that my hubby tagged along too.
To make the story short. I was continually watching people walk in to see “Wanted” and was surprised that maybe the audience was comprised of adults in groups and couples (like me and hubby). I was like thinking, come on, keep coming people. :-) The theater was jam packed in no time. The seats were all taken except for a few on the first 3 very front rows. :-)

Sony unveils new 4K projector
Demoing new equipment at Cinema Expo
By Carl DiOrio

June 25, 2008, 06:00 PM ET

AMSTERDAM — The trade show floor at Cinema Expo 2008 is filled with the customary popcorn, theater-seat and tech vendors, but Sony Electronics reps are steering prospective customers to a secret demo suite to view something potentially much more watershed.

Sony has unveiled a 4K digital projector with easy adaptability to 3-D projection. Previously, two of the pricey projectors were necessary to rig an auditorium for 4K 3-D, preventing the wide use of the high-resolution systems for 3-D exhibition.

Once considered the next-generation technology for digital cinema, Sony’s 4K systems have been struggling to overcome cost and manufacturing woes, and more conventional 2K d-cinema systems have remained the prevalent hardware in the marketplace. So Sony executives — hoping soon to remedy the additional 3-D headache — are demonstrating prototypes of the new 4K projectors with the aim of bringing the hardware to market by Christmas.

Earlier in the day, two more studios offered energetic slate presentations.

Warner Bros. showed a brief montage of clips from “Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince,” a sixth installment in the $4.48 billion franchise that’s set for a holidays release. By video, Daniel Radcliffe also introduced a “Harry” retrospective.

Warners international distribution president Veronika Kwan-Rubinek told exhibitors that “Prince” would be distributed in “digital, 35mm and Imax, with select scenes in 3-D.”

Exhibitors also saw new footage from another fourth-quarter debutante — “The Curious Case of Benjamin Button,” starring Brad Pitt and Cate Blanchett — and got a peek at the first trailer for the fall’s Leonardo DiCaprio-Russell Crowe starrer “Body of Lies,” with a brief intro by director Ridley Scott. An extended clip from Guy Ritchie’s fall-slotted “Rocknrolla,” starring Gerald Butler, Tom Wilkinson and Jeremy Piven, drew a good audience reaction.

Warners also screened its soon-to-bow Batman sequel “The Dark Knight” in a local Imax auditorium, the first time the Christian Bale starrer had been screened in the Imax format. Helmer Christopher Nolan shot about 30 minutes of the two-hour, 25-minute film with Imax cameras.

Disney, which followed its slate presentation with an evening screening of this weekend’s animated feature “Wall-E,” presented trailers and sneak peeks from year-end titles. Those included the youthful sequel “High School Musical 3: Senior Year,” the family comedy “Beverly Hills Chihuahua” and “Bolt,” its 3-D-animated feature about a TV star superdog.

WTF?!…wouldn’t you know someone, would come to this thread and try to “kill” and “steal” Angelina’s and “Wanted”’s thundah…haha…KNOCK IT OFF ALREADY!!

Angelina saves summer (AG - Yes She does!!! *In the tune of Obama’s Yes We Can song*

By Feet Banks

Angelina Jolie isn’t the best actress in the world (I’m giving that title to Cate Blanchett these days, due in part to her performance in that Bob Dylan movie I’m Not There) but there is no one I’d rather watch on the silver screen. Angelina is, of course, this era’s biggest celebrity — that perfect mix of talent, lips, worldly compassion, intelligence, sex appeal and grit — but what makes her different from past Hollywood icons like Marilyn Monroe or Jean Harlow is that Angie isn’t afraid to get her hands bloody and blow some **** up. Miss Jolie is back in kick-ass mode this week in Wanted , opening Friday, certainly the best action flick of the summer thus far.

Based on a comic book by the always-excellent Mark Miller, Wanted stars James McAvoy in another great fantasy of empowerment scenario. McAvoy is Wes, a total ***** office drone with a hag boss, a **** girlfriend who’s getting nailed by his (not-so) best friend and, to top it off, he suffers from panic attacks. Luckily, his father used to be a super-secret assassin and before long foxy Angelina shows up and brings him into the fold of the Fraternity, a group of mysterious assassins who have been around for 1,000 years, murdering evil-doers and letting the ends justify the means — “kill one, save a thousand.”

The Fraternity is headed by Morgan Freeman who finally gets to drop some Samuel Jackson-sized “F” bombs and who also helps Wes realize his genetic killing potential and ability to shoot curveball bullets. Pretty soon Wes is restoring balance to the universe and realizing that ultimate power can corrupt as well.

First off, Angelina Jolie could make an art film about unloading a pick-up truck full of newborn puppies with a pitchfork and tossing them into an oven and I’d still call it the best movie of the summer, so yeah, this is a biased review, but Wanted is actually pretty epic. Russian director Timur Bekmambetov brings fresh ideas and a love for slow-mo ridiculousness to the action genre and creates the kind of fun, fast, R-rated action film we’ve been waiting for since The Matrix. Bekmambetov made waves internationally with his Russian vampire/sci-fi flicks NightWatch and DayWatch and here, in his first American film, he proves that the hype was real — this guy is no joke.

Neither is James McAvoy, whom my supermodel girlfriend says, “is really cute even though the ending of Atonement was total ****.” James pulls off the action hero much the same way Robert Downey Jr. pulled off Iron Man , by taking it seriously. The acting, stunts, camerawork and ideas in Wanted are a non-stop assault of awesomeness, and even though I was wishing for a bigger role Angelina is in fine, fine form – looking sassy, contorting into all sorts of nifty poses and just proving why she’s the most watchable woman in the history of history.

Hi guys, now I know I’ve been MIA and would probably have to go through the whole process of having my badge reinstated but I gotta make this request to all JP Fans…

Please stop comparing Rachel Green to THE MOST WATCHABLE WOMAN IN THE HISTORY OF HISTORY. (Not just history…History OF History! Come now..can it get any better than this? I think not)

It is an INSULT, I tells ya! It’s like comparing fresh top of the cart Apples to bottom of the barrel 10 day old prunes. It’s just not right!!!

CHOOSE YOUR DESTINY…hmmm, quite appropriate for the BP and AJ, no?

They didn’t let their fans do it for them.

They didn’t let idiots who can’t discern real from fake do it for them.

They didn’t let bitter hags who have their heads buried in Golden Coupledom do it for ‘em.

And the tabloids…Aah, they don’t even register.

Yep, they chose their own destiny.

A’ight I’m done…was just on a high from seeing Wanted.

If anyone says this is not Angelina Jolie’s movie, they are mistaken. All movies are ensemble productions of some kind, but when the metal hits the road it’s the importance of that character to overall movie that makes it THEIR movie. James McAvoy has the lead part, but this movie would not have generated the buzz it has if it weren’t for Angelina. She is the badass from the get go. To show her commitment to the character it was she who cut her own lines in the movie. She thought that the character as she saw her was a woman of few words. How many actresses do you know would cut their own parts for the sake of the character? Btw Howdy to all the J-P fans. I’m going to have a Brad DvD day. woooohoooolol.

An interview with my future baby daddy. A girl can dream. I kid!!!!

Geffen recording artist Common is steadfastly making his mark on celluloid. Common’s character Gunsmith, a weapons master in Universal Pictures’ action-packed feature, Wanted sizzles on screen. If The Matrix and The Transporter had a baby it would be Wanted. With its breath-taking stunts, special effects and the soon-to-be copied ‘curving bullet’ trick Wanted will leave the audience wanting more. Witness the birth of a franchise. Even with all of the high-powered treats Common holds his own.
With roles in major motion pictures like American Gangster and Smokin’ Aces, the sky is the limit for this rapper/writer/entrepreneur/actor. Co-staring with Angelina Jolie, Morgan Freeman and James McAvoy, Common continues to make his mark.

Urban Network had the pleasure to sit down with this multi-talented artist to talk about his latest role, his upcoming release, Invincible Summer and further film projects.

So I’m gonna jump into it, are you tired of killing people in movies?

Common: (Laughing) Well yeah, but if I say that I’m hypocritical because I’m about to be in Terminator 4. I’m in Terminator 4, so I’m obviously gonna be like killing somebody in there, at least it’s the machines we are killing in that film. But I would love to take on rolls that reflect other things as far as what I’m doing. I would love to play in a love story, romantic comedy or a drama. Maybe play a preacher, but something different anything that’s a great role and I can show some range and really do something different and stretch.

How do you balance music and your acting career these days?

Common: Man I was really excited about this film, for me, when I was filming Wanted, I was at the end of recording my last album which was called Finding Forever. I fit these two worlds in because they both help each other. I feel a lot more free doing music and when I’m doing movies it takes pressure off the music. I’m actually having more fun with the music because I’m doing movies. I guess that’s because that isn’t my only source of expression anymore. I’m actually putting out an album and it has been the quickest that I have recorded an album ever. The album is called Invincible Summer, coming out in August.

It is a violent, over the top, action film. If you go into the movie with that mindset, you will have a rockin time. Just get your popcorn and drink( $10 dollar minimum),take your seat and hold on for the ride. Thanks for all the updates Just Jared. Best wishes to AJ on a healthy and happy delivery of the twins. sources and insiders take a hike. Peace to all.

And Jolie is, well, Angelina Jolie, the closest thing we have to a real-life superhero. Just think about it: She seems to be everywhere at once, never ages, travels the world crusading for right, and can easily be pictured crouched atop a gargoyle on the Chrysler Building. Perhaps the ultimate coup of Jolie stunt casting was the role of Grendel’s mother, the gorgeous she-monster of Robert Zemeckis’ Beowulf. But Fox, the infallible superassassin she plays here, comes in as a close second.

Angelina is an icon of our generation.

I saw it and it was AWESOME! Angie is a star!

…nah, bdj, I can see that…you and Common?…why not?…go for it…haha

Hey, welcome back and thanks for coming out of lurking mode. Thanks for the great review.

and here he is,someone like Cook, who hasn’t seen any Brad Pitt’s current’s films, but he believes that he is not a good actor.and probably some of you people will agree with him.

calling me troll, and giving him free ride,uh double standard?

Ok!!now with people like cook here and and with some of you people who still talk with him, while he made it no secret that he easily makes fun of Brad,I’m done with JJ.sadly there are people who still don’t give cook what he deserves.I’m as much brad’s fan as Angie.so I can’t see and accept a popster like cook here.and actually there are people here who still talk with him.oh God.there are many double standards here.

now go ahead and call me troll and talk with cook poster.we will get to see real jp’s fans here.I think one part of JPs is pitt, and cook obviously doesn’t believe in that part.is there any different between him and shitzy?she was brad’s fans, not Angie, she believed in pitt part and cook believes in jolie’s part,so what’s the different.he actually makes as much fun of brad as Shitzy was/is attacking Angie.double standard?we will see.

Hey AG, long time no see, how are you old timer?

African Girl,

…hahaha…I thought you meant for your post to come out like that…hahaha

It’s my dream.

This movie is Angie’s movie. Angie is the star. I watch it because of Angie. Not a fan of JM. I am now a big fan of the Russian director.

Someone is too sensitive and not enough sensible…hahahaha…and quit telling me who I DON’T like…hahahaha

Most people here ignore the troll cook.

bdj,

…ahh, have confidence…my fingers and toes are crossed for ya…

Passing Through- you are so right, all the actress in those movies preview ( the Mummy, Death Racer and Batman) were all damsel in distress types.

OK ladies, I love the movie. The line was long for the 10:15 showing, ( few of the earlier showing were sold out). The first scene with Angelina Jolie appeared in the drugs store, the theater were buzzing with uhhhh ahhhh and applaud, a few remark from the audience that cause an up road in laughter and applaud. ( wow, she’s hot or oh yeah baby)…

We got lot clapping, uhh ahhhh moments, the car chasing was so cool. I don’t know about anyone here, but every scenes with Angie in it, the movie is getting better and hotter, if that possible. ;)

James did a great job of being James, the reluctant nobody, suddenly discovers that he can be still be a nobody with power, oh yeah, his entry to the factory with his rats army….I tell ya, people were yelling and clapping. I find myself saying aloud ” OM God, wow, holy Sh*t, ….”

Morgan Freedman was so nasty as the leader of the fraternity. His curses got the loudest laugh and applaud.

OK, I save the BEST OF THE BEST FOR LAST, Angelina Jolie, what can I say. She’s the master of female action film, no one is sexier, more bada sss than Angie with a gun, she made it looks so easy, so comfortable and so effortless, the scene of her hanging out from the car got lots of reaction from the crowd and applaud from the audience ( what a fun group last night) and when she climb out of that hot/cold tube….there was a brief silence, then whistle, and shout out like ” Oh my heart be still…someone freeze frame that …got the most laugh, ”
and the kiss…of course got the theater buzzing with excitement again with ” lucky basssstarddd, lucky duddd, why not meeeee and more whistle and clapping” , my favorite part with Angie…well all scenes with her in it are my favorites…hahahaha, I love the train jumping, bending, I love even more when she beat the helllll out of James too…

Overall I gave this movie a 4 1/2 stars out of 5

why not 5 stars? well, because it’s too darn short, I want more WANTED…… LOL

Bdj & Besane
Hello lovely ladies. How are you doing? I couldn’t not come out of lurkdom for this. Soon, very soon I shall return to my original full time, all the time, day and night, 24/7 status. Do…do you ladies remember those days…when they used to say we had no life? Remember when I was called the 800 pound gorrila on this site?

*Sigh*

Oh man! Those were the days…now everyone is about work, work, spending time with the kids, quality time with the hubby and partner, enjoying the weather. (Gag me!) God! It’s changed…it’s all changed but can you do, eh?

Anyhoo, our girl is kicking major behind and she looks darn good doing it. I swear, in my next life I’m coming back as Fox.

estelle, same were i went lots of clapping and laughing,i had a lot of fun,and will be going again today
