Angelina Jolie Will Bring Boys To Their Knees
Angelina Jolie will bring boys to their knees in her new action thriller Wanted, according to a movie critic for the New York Times.
Manohla Dargis says, “Ms. Jolie has been perfectly cast as a super-scary, seemingly amoral assassin named (wait for it) Fox. Few American actresses, especially those with such pin-skinny arms, can make beating a guy to the ground look so easy and, yeah, man, like fun. With her mean smiley-sneer and snug clothes, her heels and hieroglyphics, she cuts the kind of disciplinarian figure who can bring antsy boys of all ages to their knees or at least into their theater seats.”
Wanted is out in theaters everywhere today!!! James McAvoy and Morgan Freeman costars.
FYI: Sources tell The Daily News that contrary to denials, Angie has given birth to her twins. “They’re waiting till the babies are bigger and stronger before they allow anyone to take their picture,” a source told the paper.

3 showings @ 7:20; 7:40 and 7:50 @ 3 different cinemas in the mall. OMG - totally packed for the 7:00 showings. It started at 10:00 AM this morning, thru all night, 12:40 after mid night is the last. 3 shows every hour on the hour. Geewhiz - I’ve never seen anything like it !
Action pack all the way, and all these clappings. I really need to see it again.
No question about W2, or 3. The ending is a mystery, no question about W2 or W3. Am betting AJ will return, cuz’ the ending is a fake.
Bourne met his match ! McAvoy is a huge competition for Damon. I just read a clip coming from Scotland - McAvoy is their new hero. The headline says : move over Bourne !

Go to bed, please. You’re bass ackwards English is annoying enough during the daytime hours. No one wants to try to decipher it after 6pm.
Now the FF coven is truly evil, truly devoid of any humanity, truly lacking any ability to see the world as it is. Those women are full of poisonous hate for no reason at all toward people who have caused them no harm.
Seeing Angie so happy with Brad, so happy being a mom, so happy being pregnant with twins, so radiant and glowing at Cannes hand in hand with a loving proud Brad, had already pushed the FF’s near the edge, but now the success of movie after movie and the ET fiasco has pushed them to exploid.
FF’s are the most insane group of fanatics in the known universe.

But why? Are they like this for other celebs? Or just Angie?

Now that’s what I would love to see included in some of the reviews. :)
This is from the Orlando Sentinel & re-printed in the SJ Mercury News…
“But “Wanted” is, more than anything, proof that no woman in film history has handled a gun with as much exotic panache as the once-and-future “Tomb Raider.” It’s Jolie’s pistol-packing mama-to-be world, and we’re all just innocent bystanders, hoping we duck in time. ”
Love reading everybody’s reaction to the film. Hope you guys are going back to see it again.
Its unbelievable how one woman can do so many things. Angie has fulfilled much in her life that no other individual can attest to. She is blessed in every sense of the word and she is very much aware of it. You can love her or hate her but you cannot deny the fact that she is very involved in every thing, whether helping those less fortunate, donating her time and money or making movies, being a mother and partner. This woman does it all.

Brad saw the love of his life and the mother of his children in angie. Besides being the most beautiful woman and number 1 actress in the world, angie loves brad more than your idol who had publicly stated that brad is not the love of her life.
Your idol is banging too much into john mayer and yet you come here just because angie is the love of brad’s life. I know your idol wants to score 12 guys in a year but please leave brad out of the score sheet. Brad is just too much into angie

Whatever Brad saw and sees in Angie is magical for him and has made him an extremely happy completely lovedup satisfied man. Brad cleaves to Angie as if he and she are the opposite poles of the most powerful magnet, you can’t pull them apart. Angie is the love of Brad’s life and the mother of his soon to be 6 kids. Angie is the home of Brad’s heart.
Of course you can’t see Angie’s magical aura because you are not Brad, it shines for him and him alone.
The Dom ina trix: Angelina Jolie crushes James McAvoy like a bug in Wanted.
Dana Stevens
When I first heard that Angelina Jolie and James McAvoy would be paired up in an action movie this summer, I remember scoffing about what an unsexy couple they’d make. I believe my exact words were, “She’ll crush him like a bug.” “Sounds pretty sexy to me,” said my interlocutor, giving me an unsolicited yet bracing glimpse into his fantasy life.
He was right. For those whose fantasies include being crushed like bugs by Angelina Jolie (or beaten senseless by hulking Russian thugs, or forced to use dead pigs for target practice by Morgan Freeman), Wanted (Universal Pictures) is a compendium of bedside erotica. I don’t know when I’ve seen a mainstream movie that so explicitly caters to the S&M niche. And the chemistry of the central couple, which seemed destined to bring the movie down, is instead the hottest thing in this effects-laden but ultimately empty film.
McAvoy is the delicate-faced, slight-framed Scotsman who seems born to play victims and pushovers. (In the last few years, he’s been Idi Amin’s personal physician in The Last King of Scotland , the sacrificial faun in The Lion, The Witch and the Wardrobe , and the young swain unjustly accused of child rape in Atonement. ) And Jolie is, well, Angelina Jolie, the closest thing we have to a real-life superhero. Just think about it: She seems to be everywhere at once, never ages, travels the world crusading for right, and can easily be pictured crouched atop a gargoyle on the Chrysler Building. Perhaps the ultimate coup of Jolie stunt casting was the role of Grendel’s mother, the gorgeous she-monster of Robert Zemeckis’ Beowulf . But Fox, the infallible superassassin she plays here, comes in as a close second.
Wanted ’s plot is an overripe brew of elements from The Matrix , Fight Club , and The Da Vinci Code . Centuries ago, it seems, a guild of ancient weavers formed a secret society known as the Fraternity, a band of killers with otherworldly gifts (they can curve the trajectory of a bullet, for example, or heal their wounds overnight in tubs filled with a special molten wax). A textile mill in modern-day Chicago is the last outpost for the society, whose members consult the Loom of Fate (no, seriously) for woven-in-code tips on whom to kill next. None of this has anything to do with Wesley Gibson (McAvoy), a timid accountant prone to anxiety attacks, until he’s spectacularly kidnapped by Fox (Jolie) and forced to undergo Fraternity hazing—that is, training.
It’s during these long training sequences that the movie’s semisecret BDSM subtext is at its clearest. “Not too tight, right?” asks a Fraternity minion, tying the wimpy Wesley to a chair for one of many brutal interrogations as Fox looks coolly on. “No, that’s … nice,” replies our hero, pausing just long enough to get a big laugh from the audience. Plenty of movies (most disturbingly, the new breed of “extreme horror” movies like Hostel and Saw ) offer kicks by portraying the suffering of others. But watching someone get his kicks from suffering—especially when that someone is the male action hero with whom the male target audience is presumably meant to identify—is a perverse and refreshing turnabout.
When Wesley, in his words, “grows a pair” and becomes a full-fledged member of the Fraternity, bending bullets and decoding fabric swatches with the best of them, Wanted gets less kinky and a lot less interesting. Timur Bekmambetov, the Russian director of the visually spectacular thrillers Night Watch and Day Watch , loves to tease the audience with slo-mo, reverse motion, close-up bullet-cam, and other hammy tricks. Some of these impress by their sheer audacity: After a bad guy gets shot, for example, we watch the bullet travel backwards, out of his skull and back through space and time, into the gun barrel of the man who shot him. Wanted is based on a series of comic books by Mark Millar and J.G. Jones that are apparently so dark and amoral as to make this movie’s mayhem seem positively Amish. Myself, I prefer action films in which the stunts, however unlikely, adhere to at least some of the laws of physics. But if the graphic-novel-style hyperviolence of Sin City or 300 is your thing, go ahead and knock yourself out. Or let Angelina do it for you … It feels so much nicer that way.

EARLY NUMBERS: ‘WALL-E’ may be Pixar’s biggest opening ever! Robot tale headed for $20M+ Friday and possibly $70M 3-day! Jolie’s ‘Wanted’ strong and could reach $40M opening!
by Steve Mason
FRIDAY 3:30 p.m. (Pacific): There will be much celebration in Hollywood this weekend as both of the new wide releases are scoring big. I have spoken with 2 sources at competing studios who tell me that Pixar’s perfectly-reviewed Wall-E (Disney) is off to a meteoric start, much stronger start than last year’s Ratatouille. The new animated masterpiece, already described by many critics as the likely winner of the next animation Oscar, will almost certainly top $20M on opening day. One source says $60M+ for the weekend and the other says that early numbers suggest $70M+ for the 3-day.
If the movie exceeds $70.4M this weekend, it will become the all-time best Pixar opening, which will put it above such classics as The Incredibles ($70.4M), Finding Nemo ($70.2M) and Monsters, Inc. ($62.5M).
Meanwhile, early numbers indicate that Wanted (Universal), starring Angelina Jolie, James McAvoy and Morgan Freeman, has a real shot at $40M, which would be the all-time biggest opening for an R-rated movie in the month of June, topping last year’s Knocked Up. It would also mark the all-time overall 10th-best opening for an R-rated movie.
I will go online with Early Friday & 3-Day Estimates later tonight.
I saw the movie and it totally ROCKED!!!!!!!!!!!! ANGIE WAS SOOO HOT HOT HOT!
Jolie hits the mark in ‘Wanted’
By Roger Moore
Cheekbones, eye shadow, tattoos and lips — that’s the essence of Angelina Jolie.
And guns. At least, that’s what the skinny action heroine amounts to in “Wanted,” a nervy, stylish and deeply silly movie about a clan of assassins training its newest recruit.
James McAvoy is that recruit, a downtrodden Chicago cubicle drone who suffers from anxiety attacks and apologizes for everything. Until, that is, “Fox” (Jolie, natch) shows up and “rescues” him from his dull life of victimhood, shows him “your long-awaited destiny to join us” and teaches him to use “the weapons of fate.”
In lesser hands, this amoral shoot-’em-up might have been as goofy as those portentous, pretentious pronouncements from the Fraternity, Morgan Freeman. But with two Oscar-winners finessing the most ludicrous lines and the Kazakh cult hero Timur Bekmambetov (the Russian vampire movies “Night Watch” and “Day Watch”) directing, shooting and editing this into a too-cool, too-manic seizure-inducing blur, “Wanted” hurtles past our eyes and ears too fast to register as much more than a video game.
McAvoy (”Atonement,” “Last King of Scotland”) plays Wesley, who never knew his father. Since his father was a member of this time-slowing, bullet-bending clan of genetic freaks, that makes Wesley special and recruitable.
The Fraternity drags him into a castlelike textile mill where they beat him, cut him and teach him to put topspin on bullets, all so that they can assassinate those Chicagoans and others in need of assassinating.
The Fraternity was founded by a weavers guild a thousand years ago, Sloan (Freeman) intones. They don’t question those who are chosen for death, don’t fret over moral details. They just run their looms and read their fabric swatches (!?) and do their duty. Once he’s seen how cool, cruel and confident their training makes him, Wesley is down for their mission. He is to “kill the man who gunned down your father.” Eventually.
The car chases and shoot-outs are epic, with Fox taking the new lad out for the occasional joy ride in a stolen car or jaunt along the roof of an El train. Jolie really sells these stunts and effects. But the training, the tedious superhuman/supernatural explanations and “Empire Strikes Back”/Bible Code plot twists bog the picture down.
And then there’s that whole troubling mission thing, shooting people you don’t know.
“We don’t know how far the ripples of our decisions go,” Wesley is told. True. But is that a justification for gunning down somebody you’ve never met and know nothing about? Maybe in the graphic novel this was based on, or in first-person-shooter video-game ethics, that “Don’t ask, don’t think about it” works.
The visual verve makes “Wanted” a fine Hollywood calling card for Bekmambetov, who is ready for a Bourne film or whatever action picture the studios can dream up. McAvoy, the diminutive Scot, makes a decent action hero.
But “Wanted” is, more than anything, proof that no woman in film history has handled a gun with as much exotic panache as the once-and-future “Tomb Raider.” It’s Jolie’s pistol-packing mama-to-be world, and we’re all just innocent bystanders, hoping we duck in time.
Anyone else having problems refreshing?

You are an idiot and if I am reading this correct, you think Aniston is a great actress and a humantarian. What the hell have you been smoking?
Deadline Hollywood
Universal is hoping for at least $35M and maybe even $40M from 3,175 venues for Wanted’s Fri/Sat/Sun total. My box office gurus are projecting $40M to $42M. “In terms of comps, that would be an extraordinary result for an R-rated summer action movie,” a source tells me. “So anything above $35M is absolutely a franchise.”
The appeal for well-reviewed Wanted is a surprise: women want to see it as almost as much as men, young and old are coming in nearly even, and relative newcomer McAvoy is almost as much of a draw for the film as veteran Jolie.

Surprise. Surprise. Women and old also love to see this film.

Good videos of the making of “Wanted” in Spanish.
I don’t recall hearing the part where Angie asked James if he wanted to bond during the movie. Saw it in the previews. How about everyone esle?
We have thunderstorm warning & didn’t stop me watching ‘Wanted” tonight with my hubby. It’s a very good movie packed in one, comedy, full of actions, good story & suspense. Angie looks amazing, she is skinny in this movie but still looks amazing & her stunts were all great. The ending was good, didn’t expect it but very good.
The theater was full to the capacity, some sits by the steps, I was jumping out of my seat because this movie will really rock you. I will grade it perfect 10. Thumbs up to Angie & the rest of the crew. Good job.

I hope if there is a sequal, they will find a way to include fox( Angelina ) in it. I think I heard thatat the end there is also a picture of Fox on the desk. I can’t wait to see it tommorrow.
+++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++
Why would Angelina not be in a sequel. You better not be telling me that she dies at the end of this one. Surely no one would give away the ending to a movie we haven’t seen yet.
ReelzChannel had the Dailies Weekend show and they devoted their hour long show on Walle & Wanted. They had interviews with Angelina and a disucssion on Wanted. They really loved talking about how Angelina did in this film and how they like the movies she’s choosing to do. One guy said that she needs a hit and the others said “need” a hit? Then they dove into the fact that Angelina has an Oscar already and has hits already on her resume. They also mentioned that she voiced in the hits Kung Fu Panda and was in Beowulf. They said she can pick and choose whatever she wants to do at her leisure. She doesn’t “need” to do anything since she’s already done everything. One of the guys said that maybe the guy was confused and meant that Nicole Kidman needed the hit! I was loving it. then the guy who said she needed , then went into how he like that she alternates film genres. They really enjoyed the film and discussing it as well. it was all in good fun.
Dailies Weekend is playing thoughout the weekend on ReelzChannel or you can check out interviews and videos of early fan reaction here:

goodnight
Some clips shown on trailers were deleted. But that bare back body and butt of Jolie was there although just milli-seconds frame. But wow ! On that scene, her body is not bony at all, specially that curve from the waist down.
Now I am thinking of Aniston’s cheesy pool pics, and really - Jolie’s curve is just out of this world, just no comparison. One is cheesy and the other is exotic and classy, despite of or maybe even with the tattoos.
BTW, BO early figures shows for 06-27-08 - Wall-E was shown in 3992 theaters targeting parents with their kids, while Wanted opened @ 3175 theathers to cater on HS and older viewers. Wall-E is rated PG and Wanted is rated R. Big difference !
Despite R rating and lesser theater release , Wanted is top rated to garner BO !
Filmgoers Go Wild For ‘Wall-E’ And ‘Wanted’
FRIDAY PM: Sources tell me that very early North American box office numbers show that Disney / Pixar’s Wall-E took in low $20sM Friday from 3,992 theaters for what should be a low $60sM opening weekend. And Universal’s Angelina Jolie/James McAvoy starrer Wanted debuted to $15M Friday from 3,175 venues for what should be a bigger than expected $45+M weekend. More complete #s later. For full analysis, see my Wkd Prediction: Robot $70M, Angie $40M.
