Angelina Jolie Will Bring Boys To Their Knees

Angelina Jolie Will Bring Boys To Their Knees

Angelina Jolie will bring boys to their knees in her new action thriller Wanted, according to a movie critic for the New York Times.

Manohla Dargis says, “Ms. Jolie has been perfectly cast as a super-scary, seemingly amoral assassin named (wait for it) Fox. Few American actresses, especially those with such pin-skinny arms, can make beating a guy to the ground look so easy and, yeah, man, like fun. With her mean smiley-sneer and snug clothes, her heels and hieroglyphics, she cuts the kind of disciplinarian figure who can bring antsy boys of all ages to their knees or at least into their theater seats.”

Wanted is out in theaters everywhere today!!! James McAvoy and Morgan Freeman costars.

FYI: Sources tell The Daily News that contrary to denials, Angie has given birth to her twins. “They’re waiting till the babies are bigger and stronger before they allow anyone to take their picture,” a source told the paper.

PURE @ 06/29/2008 at 9:18 am

Sorry to tell you but everyone review trailers. who does not judge a film by its trailer?

UMMM @ 06/29/2008 at 9:34 am

People with brain usually don’t do that.lol

seriously I can’t believe people review trailers.the movie is more than 2 or 1 and 45 hours, and there are people who judge about a movie with it’s trailer??LOL

sorry,thank you for new information.

wanted sucks! @ 06/29/2008 at 3:40 am Just because I like Angelina Jolie does not mean that I have to like ALL of the movies that she makes. I am not a X fan posing as an angie fan either.

Your name smells like a troll. This is why people treated you as a troll. You could have used any name and then given your same opinion. You wanted to be nasty and thus you got a nasty reaction right back.

Thanks bdj for the updates.

That is all we need to get into the theaters. First of all it’s the best trailers of the year so far. I don’t think there will be another better one coming. Even the Dark Night is kind of blah. It’ even gets on the creepy side because of Heath Ledger in that clown/joker makeup. Look at the cinematography of Benjamin Button. It teases us with eye candy so that people are already drooling with the lush photography. next, is the story itself. F. Scott Fitzgerald is to male fans what Jane Austen is to female fans. The writer F. Scott Ftizgerald is a book& movie unto him self but his short stories tend to have male appeal as well as female, so just the fact that this is base on HIS writing will get the litereay crown in the theatres. David Fincher! do you know how many fans he has? he might as well be an actor becasue people have been following his every move with this film. they can’t wait for it. Also this is the first teaming of Pitt & Funcher since Fight Club and before that, Seven. That crowd will be going in the theatres. Then there are fans of Cate, Tilda who want to see their latest. This will probably be one of Cate’s last films for a while as she and her husband take over and run a Theatre company in Autrailia. Then there are Pitt fans who will be so stoked by his Burn After Reading performance that they will invade theaters the minute Benjamin Button opens. The rest of the public will go because of the inevitable rave reviews and will want to see the latest Pitt flick. So all this one liner plot description is whetting people’s appetitie for more. The trailer just shows you snapshots of the film but what is the story behind the story? how will Fincher tell it?
How will the effects look like? You see this will be a film to see. Reviewers can try to one line this all they want because let’s face it, most movies are basically: boy meets girl, boy loses girl, then boy gets girl in the end. But people go see the other 99% of the story telling.

Good morning and happy Sunday to everyone. HAPPY BIRTHDAY VICKI! :D Enjoy your special day, I hope it’s a great one for you.

BTW - here’s how you can tell Ted’s BI that not so blind is obviosly supposed to be Angelina ain’t true…Michael Musto of the Village Voice has NEVER had this BI. And that guy knows EVERYTHING. If it’s smut, Musto knows it. A few months back he did a column that had like 40 BIs in it. He’s got a way of wording them that’s hilarious. Like Ted he’s gay…but he doesn’ feel the need to do all that cutesy made-up-words shite. Musto’s got connections on both coasts and knows more dirt than just about any gossip around. And while he can be mean and biting…he’s courted sought the spotlight the way Ted does. So if Musto ever has a similar BI…then you’ll know it’s true. Otherwise it’s just Ted being mean because the J-Ps kick his ass by disproving every piece of garbage he’s ever written about them. B#tch is bitter like a mofo.

…………………….

So if Musto comes out with a similar BI, you would believe it then? I don’t really believe in BI. I ran into that Ben W. guy few years back and I asked him about it and he said most of the time he makes it up to fill the space and he exaggerates alot.

Mr and Mrs Smith @ 06/29/2008 at 10:09 am

People, please don’t feed off the troll today with the Ted C. stuff. The guy (and alot of the tabloid/sometimes legitimate media) has said countless things about Angie since 2005 and she’s survived it all. Let us not sweat the small stuff and instead focus on the positive of Angie having 2 movies in the top 10 at the box office this weekend. Don’t let the troll divert our attention today.

Most recently, the London-based craftsman’s lent his expertise to “Wanted,” Kazakhstan-born director Timur Bekmambetov’s shoot-’em-up action thriller about a milquetoast accountant (played by James McAvoy) who discovers he’s part of an ancient society of assassins called the Fraternity. Hooper not only taught the cast members the rules to using their weapons, but in one specific instance, how to bend them a bit as well.

Way of the gun: Director Bekmambetov wanted each Fraternity member’s weapon to be “almost an extension of their being, their personality,” explains Hooper. So each character was assigned a specific gun — Morgan Freeman’s Sloan, leader of the Fraternity, was given a Mauser C96, an old-school piece commonly known as “the Broomhandle.” But he also worked with each actor to develop his character’s shooting style. “When [McAvoy's Wesley] first joins the Fraternity, he has no idea how to use the gun at all, so we made him slightly comedic and fumbly,” says Hooper.

One particular production challenge was that “the director wanted to somehow emphasize to the audience a way that the Fraternity members got the bullets to curve around corners,” says Hooper. After discussing how to achieve the desired effect — including ricocheting bullets off trees or shooting over the tops of buildings — Hooper developed a wrist-twisting method of arcing the gun and bullet that became known as “the table tennis move.”

“To actually curve a table tennis ball through the air you flick it left or right, which gets the ball to spin in a left or right direction,” he explains. So, the actors were essentially trained to play ping-pong with blanks. After all, it’s not like bullets can bend in real life, or, as Hooper points out: “Not yet, anyway

Hey besane, enjoy Wanted :)

Good Morning to all JP fans,

I love , love . love Wanted.

Anustin, I have to agree she looks so natural with guns, I also love the store shouting but my favorite part was the twist towards the ending. It was unexpected, at least for me. I don’t want to give too much away, but when Wesly found out who his father was, the theater went dead silent for a few seconds. It is a great movie, I am hoping there will be a prequel with Fox’s back story or a sequel.

There were a few couples there with their young children, I don’t understand why people bring young children to R rated movies. One kid asked her mommy what are Wesley’s girlfriend and friend doing on the table. LOl the kid was about three. Needless to say, it was an embarrassing moment.

Review: Angelina Jolie And “Wanted”
David Edelstein On The “Incinerating” Actress’ Latest Action-Thriller

June 29, 2008
(CBS) With roles in films such as “Girl, Interrupted” (for which she won an Oscar) and her latest, “Wanted,” Angelina Jolie has attracted a host of admirers … and that includes our own David Edelstein:

Hollywood is full of swollen-lipped actresses, but Jolie has the spirit to match those tire-treads.

She burst out of the gate in 1998’s “Gia,” about the glowering supermodel who embodied a new kind of tough glamour and died of AIDS. I remember her blasting through a scene stark naked - sorry, folks, can’t show it! - and admiring her fearlessness more than her body, which is saying a lot.

But Jolie has so large a presence she doesn’t need to pull out the stops or take off her clothes. She can underplay dryly, toying with lines and co-stars, which is why she was so smashing as a sociopath in “Girl, Interrupted,” devastating fellow patients to keep from turning her acid gaze inward.

Jolie has taken other “serious” parts, like Marianne, wife of murdered journalist Daniel Pearl in “A Mighty Heart,” and she was very fine, tamping down the drama queen stuff.

But even dipped in caramel, she was still, obviously, Angelina.

Her greatest box office successes have been as witty action heroines, as in “Lara Croft: Tomb Raider” and “Mr. and Mrs. Smith” opposite honey Brad Pitt, whose hard shell of narcissism held fast against her incinerating stares.

“Wanted” is in the same mode, but more spectacular: It’s state-of-the-art state-of-the-art.

The plot is nonsense about a fraternity of supernaturally gifted assassins, a hodgepodge of “The Matrix” and “The Terminator.” But Kazakhstan-born director Timur Bekmambetov is a whiz at mixing fast- and slow-motion to screw up your biorhythms. You take an hour to come down and then say: I fell for that???

It’s easy to fall for Angelina. There she suddenly is, beside timid protagonist James McAvoy, looking amused, twinkling, as if the whole gazillion-dollar movie is her toy. The bullets she fires seem like extensions of her will.

Does “Wanted” stretch her as an actress? Not remotely. We’ll see that later this year, as the mother of a kidnapped child in Clint Eastwood’s “Changeling.”

What Jolie really needs to prove herself is material she can’t toy with, parts bigger than she is. Hedda Gabler? Cleopatra? God?

TCCOBB, the “best trailer of the year so far” WHAT? put down whatever it is you have been sipping or smoking. for that you have been permanently put on ignore. And don’t even bring up The Dark Night or Heath because both are way above your head. now run along, change your name and try again.

neer loves Brad.

======================

I like Brad because he loves Angie & so is Angie to Brad. He makes her happy & vice versa. I admit I only noticed Brad when they became a couple. I can see the love they give for each other. They inspire people with their goodness & the family they have created together. Even If I am more of an Angie fan, I respect her choices in life. And Brad is himself a committed significant other to Angie & to their children. So there is no reason not to like Brad. He’s proven to be a handsome matured man as opposed to just a pretty boy.

I saw this movie last night and I didn’t really like it. I really went to see Angelina but I normally would not go to these types of movies. It was good seeing her on the big screen as opposed to the little screen. On to Changeling.

Hiya bampzsville :)

just wanted to drop by and say HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO VICKI!!
