Angelina Jolie Will Bring Boys To Their Knees

Angelina Jolie will bring boys to their knees in her new action thriller Wanted, according to a movie critic for the New York Times.

Manohla Dargis says, “Ms. Jolie has been perfectly cast as a super-scary, seemingly amoral assassin named (wait for it) Fox. Few American actresses, especially those with such pin-skinny arms, can make beating a guy to the ground look so easy and, yeah, man, like fun. With her mean smiley-sneer and snug clothes, her heels and hieroglyphics, she cuts the kind of disciplinarian figure who can bring antsy boys of all ages to their knees or at least into their theater seats.”

Wanted is out in theaters everywhere today!!! James McAvoy and Morgan Freeman costars.

FYI: Sources tell The Daily News that contrary to denials, Angie has given birth to her twins. “They’re waiting till the babies are bigger and stronger before they allow anyone to take their picture,” a source told the paper.

Ah geez…. I can’t breathe… breathe pwal, BREATHE!!!

Jeffrey Lyons didn’t like TCCOBB trailer and in advance, warned people that he won’t like the movie. Because openmindedness is not a prerequisite for being a film critic, well, not for relevant film critics anyway.

What is that pain in my chest? Is it fear and disappointment that the former partner of Medved chose to see TCCOBB as an adaptation of Morky and Mindy versus Mork and Mindy taking a cue from F. Scott Fitzgerald, from which the movie is based on.

The pain… it hurts… it hurts… it hurts so good!!! Why? Because it’s the feeling of anticipation for a potentially mesmerizing, bittersweet love story, something the film landscape is sorely missing. This anticipation also has something to do with a regular moviegoer, me, having something to look forward to, an ingredient which may explain the lagging box office numbers in recent years.

So boo-hoo… Jeffrey Lyons doesn’t like it… actually, it’s more like a poot.

Review: Angelina Jolie And “Wanted”
David Edelstein On The “Incinerating” Actress’ Latest Action-Thriller

—————————————————————————————=-===

I just finished watching it. The last comment, witty and insightful, just made me laugh outloud. Angelina and Brad are THE icons of our day. I think that is why she is hated and of course, loved.

just saying @ 06/29/2008 at 11:12 am

This movie seems very Mr and Mrs Smithish.

eerrrrr…TDK cassette lol recorder,read ameena’s post!

Happy Birthday Miss vicki and there be many more…Enjoy today…and of course ‘crickets’ and ‘hugs’ and pull in close, I don’t want you pushing bottom half away…hahahahaha…I kid…haha

Jeff Lyons is a guy, right?…hmmm…maybe he’s on to something…hahaha

STOP POSTING SPOILERS

Ameena, I think you may have given away a HUGE plot element. Please be more considerate and stop with ruining it for others.

Your excitement about a movie shouldn’t mean you have to come here and spill the beans. There are plenty of other discussion forums on the net where you can do that in special threads with posters who have already seen it.

Thanks in advance.

I wish Jared would delete the spoilers. I’ll ask but I doubt he’ll want to be bothered with that.

…umma see “Wanted” anyway, spoilers and all…hahaha

MANY MORE BIRTHDAY’S TO COME VICKI!

That is all we need to get into the theaters. First of all it’s the best trailers of the year so far. I don’t think there will be another better one coming. Even the Dark Night is kind of blah. It’ even gets on the creepy side because of Heath Ledger in that clown/joker makeup. Look at the cinematography of Benjamin Button. It teases us with eye candy so that people are already drooling with the lush photography. next, is the story itself. F. Scott Fitzgerald is to male fans what Jane Austen is to female fans. The writer F. Scott Ftizgerald is a book& movie unto him self but his short stories tend to have male appeal as well as female, so just the fact that this is base on HIS writing will get the litereay crown in the theatres. David Fincher! do you know how many fans he has? he might as well be an actor becasue people have been following his every move with this film. they can’t wait for it. Also this is the first teaming of Pitt & Funcher since Fight Club and before that, Seven. That crowd will be going in the theatres. Then there are fans of Cate, Tilda who want to see their latest. This will probably be one of Cate’s last films for a while as she and her husband take over and run a Theatre company in Autrailia. Then there are Pitt fans who will be so stoked by his Burn After Reading performance that they will invade theaters the minute Benjamin Button opens. The rest of the public will go because of the inevitable rave reviews and will want to see the latest Pitt flick. So all this one liner plot description is whetting people’s appetitie for more. The trailer just shows you snapshots of the film but what is the story behind the story? how will Fincher tell it?
How will the effects look like? You see this will be a film to see. Reviewers can try to one line this all they want because let’s face it, most movies are basically: boy meets girl, boy loses girl, then boy gets girl in the end. But people go see the other 99% of the story telling.

ITAWY. I can’t wait to see the movie. The trailer is amazing.

Wanted’s success belongs to Timur Bekmambetov and Angelina.

Love the movie, Angie kicks ass!

ATTENTION all: You are being duped by a hater troll. ‘Jeff Lyons is a mostly unknown blogger, he is NOT notable published film critic Jeffrey Lyons, lately of Reel Talk fame. JEFFREY LYONS DID NOT SAY ANYTHING NEGATIVE or CRIICAL about TCCOBB or Cate Blanchett - a movie he hasn’t even seen yet.

The troll that was here earlier posted a comment from some schlub named ‘Jeff Lyons.’ He writes for a stupid blog called used dot wigs.

See his bio below:

Jeff Lyons

Head Wig

Jeff created UsedWigs a few years back in an effort to stop people from being productive while sitting at their desks. He encourages unbridled time wasting. This doyen of distractions enjoys giving his expert opinion on movies and the people who make them even though he has never taken a film class or actually sees half of the films he reviews. Described by no one as the greatest living pop culture polymath, Jeff writes a bunch news stories, reviews films, write some glowing music reviews, interviews interesting people and keeps the site looking snazzy. Most importantly, he continues his unending battle against the insidious, multinational business machine from the safe confines of his soy-based desk.

I agree with his blog mission however — very ‘Wesley Gibsonesque.’ LOL ;-)

LOL.

I think we’ve pretty much seen the whole movie in the CCOB trailer it didn’t make me want to see it in the theatres at all and Brad should work harder on the accent. I’ll probably rent it on pay per view when it comes out. I’m also tired of Cate B. I guess agree with the critic.

Who cares how somebody interprets a trailer? I’m still looking forward to Benjamin Button. Hello to cook and irma. Irma, I’m sorry I keep missing your shoutouts, and I am planning to see Wanted next week.

#711, true, anybody can play Wesley, but Fox must be Angelina. nobody else.

thanks CLINIQUA baby.

By the way — speaking of trailers, saw Batman last night with Wanted. Whoever put that together, did it in the dark, and blindfolded. I can’t believe they had the gift of what is being called Heath ledger’s best performance and that is ALL they had to show for it. I am positive, the movie will of course be very good — but the trailer was half-assed and boring. It looked like a compilation of batman movies, with no plot point or suspense. The only suspense was The Joker himself. That will be enough of course, given that it’s being touted as Heath’s finest characterization and performance - but they owed it to him, to create a better trailer than THAT. The best thing about the trailer, was a few of the great cinematography shots with batman perched high on
skyscraper at dusk, looking lonely and dark — but that’s the easy part…the cinematography is beautiful…give us some kind of story with it, some pathos. This trailer SUCKED asssss. The clips they started showing of Heath as Joker last year, were better than the entire movie trailer I saw in the theater. Maggie Gyllenhal, looks as if she adds nothing to the movie, once again, just another A-list actress playing ‘the girl.’

I saw Wanted on Saturday and I absolutley loved it.. Angie was amazing, the Whole Cast was great… Very , Very cool Movie…
I cannot wait to see TCCOBB, It looks like a Beautiful Movie… !

So It looks like WANTED possibly maybe kicked Mr.& Mrs. Smiths ass. I don’t want to jinx it but yeah. I’ll be back later to gloat.

Felinelilly,

Hello…are we still seeing “Wanted” together?…cause I ain’t seeing that other one…hahaha…nah, I don’t pay attention what critics say to determine if I’ll see a movie…if I want to know about a book, I flip to the back and read the narrative, I don’t flip to the front and read what the critics wrote about it…chances are if it’s in the book, it’s probably gonna be positive…Then again, I may be in the spirit of Christmas and see Benjamin Snorrah…hahaha…I’m not a Scrooge…ha

Benjamin Button trailer is the best trailer I have ever seen. I am looking forward to it.

not a scrooge just an idiot and a bore, Snorrah.

Someone posted this Brad picture at jjb which I have never seen it before. just WOW. Brad is the most gorgeous man.
