Angelina Jolie will bring boys to their knees in her new action thriller Wanted, according to a movie critic for the New York Times.
Manohla Dargis says, “Ms. Jolie has been perfectly cast as a super-scary, seemingly amoral assassin named (wait for it) Fox. Few American actresses, especially those with such pin-skinny arms, can make beating a guy to the ground look so easy and, yeah, man, like fun. With her mean smiley-sneer and snug clothes, her heels and hieroglyphics, she cuts the kind of disciplinarian figure who can bring antsy boys of all ages to their knees or at least into their theater seats.”
Wanted is out in theaters everywhere today!!! James McAvoy and Morgan Freeman costars.
FYI: Sources tell The Daily News that contrary to denials, Angie has given birth to her twins. “They’re waiting till the babies are bigger and stronger before they allow anyone to take their picture,” a source told the paper.

As for Wanted’s numbers, congrats to Angelina and to everyone else involved and invested in the success of this flick. So it fared better than MAMS… good for Angelina; hopefully, HW will take a cue and write better scripts, greenlight better projects, cast films well, and have confidence in actresses’ drawing power. As for those who are now deeming Angelina as the mitigating factor in MAMS’s success… slow down. I wager that these same people said that she was responsible for the lackluster numbers of TGS and AMH. Make no mistake, Angelina deserves credit for Wanted’s success, along with KFP, Beowulf, but she also deserves credit for taking chances with TGS and AMH too.
As for the douche who predicted a blowout between Wall-E and Wanted… wuh-wuh! 10-12M B.O. difference, especially when Wanted played in few theaters, in addition to being R-rated, is pretty kick-@$$. Plus, haters attempted a smear, and I include certain media critics in this group. They said that Angelina’s private life is too big and too distracting to translate into B.O. success. WRONG!!! Plus, it also shows that red carpet events, an integral part of the HW game, is pretty irrelevant; it’s just busy work for entertainment ‘journalists’ and an excuse for them to get slicked up.

“Wanted” scored the best opening ever for an R-rated film released in June and the 6th best opening of all time for any R-rated pic. Film, also starring James McAvoy and Morgan Freeman, placed No. 2 for the weekend and played equally well among various ethnic groups.
Even with the entry of “Wall-E”–directed by “Nemo” helmer Andrew Stanton–DreamWorks Animation/Paramount toon “Kung Fu Panda” still rustled up plenty of biz, declining 46% in its fourth sesh to an estimated $11.7 million from 3,670 for a cume of $179.3 million and placing No. 4 for the weekend.
“Wanted” likely diverted attention away from Marvel and U’s own “The Incredible Hulk,” which declined 58% in its third weekend to an estimated $9.2 million from 3,349 runs for a cume of $115.5 million, and 20th Century Fox’s R-rated eco-thriller “The Happening,” which fell off 63% to an estimated $3.8 million from 2,483 runs for a cume of $59 million.
“Hulk” placed No. 5 for the weekend, while “Happening” came in No. 8.
The other comedy in the marketplace, Paramount’s Mike Myers topliner “The Love Guru,” struggled in its second sesh. Pic dropped off 61% in its second weekend to an estimated $5.4 million from 3,012 runs for a cume of $25.3 million. “Guru” placed No. 6.

Yup, Terrance Stamp was in Priscilla, Queen of the Desert. He was also in Superman II, and if you look at the bonus footage of MAMS, he was ‘Father’, while Jacqueline Bisset was ‘Mother’.

If Aniston wanted to make a difference, she could announce that every dollar (or a hefty percentage) from sales of Smartwater will be donated to organizations developing clean drinking water in Africa. But as she said before, she “doesn’t do charities”. Why are people bringing up BP movies to come and his designs of rings. First of all this is Angie’s day. Congrats to her and her only. Pitt didn’t have anything to do with it. I love Angie and I like Brad. It’s very obvious I only like him because of her. She is in the spotlight and I think his fans are jealous because she is getting a little more attention than he is. They are a pair , but his time will be soon and I’ll congratulate him. He has two movies also this year. Angie has one more to go. She worked hard on these films and it is paying off. For the idiots that think James was the box office draw for this film ” they have rehabs for your drug addictions.” Maybe Pitt will get accolades for BB and maybe nominations.

guli, you will be leaving in a couple of days also? I pray your vacation goes well and you have a good time. Who will post videos when you are gone? MF seems to be missing in action. Preggy Jolie no longer posts. We don’t even get pictures like we use to. Lady G was great at posting pictures. I miss the videos and the pictures. IMHO they help to brighten up the thread and help to break up some of the silliness from the trolls.
I hope the videos makers will return as well as the picture posters. IMHO the thread use to be a good mix of information, opinions, creativity, and supporting the joliepitts. We don’t have to defend as strongley as we once did because, the world is beginning to see what we saw lo those four years ago. These little trolls that still post here on a daily basis are the scum at the bottom of the pond. They should be ignored and never mistaken as a challenge for intlligent discussion.
I am so happy for Wanted. $51mil and Wall E only about $10mil more even though it played in more theaters and had a G rating. Wanted wasn’t even listed on some of the most anticipated movies for summer lists.
I am sure it surprised some people, but not Angie’s fans. I think we all knew or at least felt it would do well. How many dollars? I don’t think any of us attached a dollar amount to it. But we knew it would do well. Two movies in the top 5. What female star can say that? Maybe there is one who also had two top 5 hits, but can’t recall who it was. If anyone knows please tell me as I would like to know also.
Well maybe in the next couple of weeks we will have some more good news. Maybe the twins will be here and will we have to come up with a new name. Challenges never cease. This is going to be good summer for BAMPZS+2 fans. Plus Brad has the Venice FF in August. If Angie is well she will probably go which will mean more pittp*rn and more photo ops. Peace

I went to see Wanted for the 2nd time. My bowling friends insisted we go again ! I can’t believe I am confessing this, but here what’s happened.
Remember that scene where Jolie slowly crept out of that tub, and walked naked with her bare back and butt, then she swing that white towel ? It happened so fast, but you can see full view of her butt !
I just blurted out loud: OMG, her butt jiggled with attitude big time !!!!!!!!!.
The entire audience in the balcony roared into laughter, clapping their hands and doing high fives ! And the rest was asking - what did she say ?? so many times .
I was just so embarrased, I covered my face with my jacket ! I just interrupted the movie. The ushers came up with his flashlight, and the audience including the ushers just burst into laughter.
A minute later, the lights were dim again. Holly cow - what have I done ?
Oh no - I am not going back there again. I did my part Cliniqua !
