The 19-year-old High School Musical star will be featured in five different television ads, all of which feature a girl trying to figure out what to wear on her first day back to school. The commercials were directed by Joseph Kahn and Chris Probst, including one homage to Britney Spear’s school girl music video, “Baby One More Time”.

I’m really excited for her new album and HSM3! I think she will be very succesfull after HSM3 is done you can definitely tell that she LOVES what she does and she is still grounded and the same person she was before HSM! She just seems like such a loving person and is always willing to help people out and I’m glad fame hasn’t gotten to her head! She is still one of my favorite actresses and singers. I also think she is amazingly Gorgeous and will go far in the next couple of years! And with Zac by her side i don’t think she will ever get a big head and I think she will always remain close to her family as she is still the sweetest person anyone can be!

I said this in the last thread, but she looks absolutely beautiful! I was skeptical about a Sears ad, but seeing the photos and now this commercial, it might not go flying off the shelves, but it’s a light hearted feel and i think young kids and junior high aged people will really enjoy doing their back to school shopping and seeing an ad of her in the store.

To tell the truth, Vanessa haters are about the dumbest people around. They claim to hate this girl so much, but wind up giving her SO much of their time, it kinda negates what they’re saying in the first place. What idiots like you don’t understand, is that every minute you spend bashing her, is a minute spent getting people who don’t know her, interested in her. They become intrigued by how a girl like Vanessa can cause such a stir, and they start checking her out. Next thing you know, those people who started out merely interested in her, wind up becoming her fans.
We call you stupid, because you actually help out Vanessa and you don’t even realize it. The only thing worse than hate, is indifference, but even you guys are too interested to not give her the time of day.

As much as I want to reply to each hater’s post one by one in defence of Vanessa, I won’t. It would be a fruitless project because they are so wrapped up in hating her, they can’t see what’s before their very eyes- a gorgeous, talented, sweet actress/singer. I do want to address one thing- remember that Ty Pennington is a spokesmodel for Sears and he’s considered very successful. Granted, it’s for a different department inside of Sears but it’s the same store. And regarding Sears, I have bought some kids clothing there and I have say some of it holds up better than things that I pay triple for. When you think about it there really is no point in celebrities endorsing expensive lines. Who can really afford them, besides other celebrities? The whole point of an endorsement is to make an ordinary line look extraordinary becomes of who’s wearing it. And if anyone can turn ordinary into extraordinary, it’s Vanessa.
I honestly don’t know what it is with girls and other girls. It’s not even just celebrities, it’s all females: coworkers, classmates, even friends. Whether we even think about it, we always end up trying to one-up each other. So late, but WOW she is one gorgeous lady.
The commercials look great, it’s a pity I live in the UK. I hope someone YTs them so we can see. Like others have said, it’s a win-win situation, Sears couldn’t have picked a better endorser as she can make a bin bag look great. The clothes are affordable too so girls can see that it’s how you carry off an outfit that matters not the price tags. Christina Aguilera was also a Sears girl and look where she is today.
And for Vanessa, she gets paid big bucks to feature in 5 TV commercials directed by an award winning director, have her CD promoted and have her face plastered in Sears’ stores all over the nation. It’s looking like the summer of Vanessa.
This girl is one hardworker though. She went from recording her album straight to shooting Rock On and on to HSM 3 with only a one day break. From what I understand, they’re working 15hr days to finish filming before June 30 and she and Zac are the only principal cast member still filming and will continue to film till late Monday evening.
I wonder how she managed to squeeze in shooting her music video, the 8 hr Cosmogirl shoot and these 5 commercials. And once she’s done, there’s still promo for her album, rehearsal for her tours and the tours.
I really admire her hardwork at this young age and love that she works for her success but I wish she’ll pace herself more. She must be running on reserves. We love you, sweetheart but please do try and take a break soon.

I don’t understand what the problem is with Sears. Yes, over the years they have gone down in things but they have also picked up over the past couple years. Now, when this here 54 year old woman was younger, it was K-Mart that was considered the “low-end” stores and Sears was the more expensive store. I grew up in the midwest and we didn’t have stores like they have on Rodeo Drive. But what young regular teenage girl would go buy something at a boutique on Rodeo Drive anyway? I would say since I have seen a great change in Sears in the past couple years that they are very intent on getting their store back to it’s glory days and GUESS WHO they thought could give them a BIG BOOST??? They knew perfectly well Vanessa Hudgens—who is LOVED by millions could do the job for them! Eat you heart out bashers.
Ok, you people who get your jollies from bad-mouthing Vanessa, could you please act like you have some intelligence? Please don’t be like 0.0 who felt compelled to let us know his/her grade point average. We don’t need to know all your less than stellar characteristics.
When people call her vile names or use obscenities, that immediately tells us what class level you are coming from . So most of us are going to dismiss you for exactly what you are. And if that is how you act all the time, trust me, it will not just be Vanessa Hudgens’ fans that will not take you seriously. You will always put yourself on a lower level if you are talking to some intelligent people who can express themselves wisely.
And for the person who—and other people—who love to say Vanessa is “fake”—could you tell me just ONCE what makes her fake? If you say she acts nice but actually isn’t yet you don’t know her personally, then that is simply conjecture—-
look up the word if you don’t know it—so you are not stating fact. Also, you say she is a fake and is fat? Do you mean she is fake because she is actually fat even though she looks really slender and shapely in pictures? I guess that would be kind of fake then. BUT could you give me a clue how if she actually IS FAT, how she looks like that in a picture???? I would love to know that secret as I want to be FAKE too.

Hi narf and all other angels who are hovering about! I’m kind of in and out tonight. I’m suppose to be writing up something like an outline about a ventilator that a patient of mine is going to be on at home so everyone will have something to refer to but I can’t seem to get into it. I have put it off for the past 2 days. SO, I guess I have procrastinated long enough and must get started.
But I waned to add something what go sox said earlier about how she didn’t care for Jolie but she doesn’t go to her threads and write bad stuff about her. I am not a Tom Cruise fan, never have been, and I have said that in the past. However, he does not make me feel enough emotion to care enough to say bad things about him. Truly the opposite of love is indifference—where you have NO emotion. Love and hate are very closely connected because those two fellings stir up great emotions and passions which means the person feeling either of those things are taking great notice of the object/person who is creating those feelings.
If I went to a Tom Cruise thread and said negative things about him—even if I said nothing vile or used obscene language—it may not mean I was jealous but it would certainly mean if nothing else that I was resentful of him for getting attention whether it be a lot or a little. Why should it matter to me if he is getting attention or not? Why WOULD I want to try to ruin some fan of Tom’s day by saying hurtful things? IF Mr Cruise makes someone happy with his films or the way he looks, or the way he acts then I’m happy for the fan. Why should I be jealous or resentful or envious or just a poop-butt because I don’t like him but millions of people do? I believe there is room in the movie industry for more than one star actor/actress. No everyone likes the same type actor/actress. It’s a good thing since one actor/actress can’t do every movie and the same way with singers. That’s why we have soul, jazz, rock, gospel, rap, etc, and dramas, comedies, historical, thrillers, etc, in movies. To each his own. But truly those people who are intent on spreading rainclouds instead of sunshine, insulting instead of uplifting, and then saying they have a right to do so are just wanting to go against the grain. It is pretty bad when you want to make people feel bad instead of good or say something insulting instead of flattering and I don’t know why those of you who do that cant “get it”. If this is the type personality you display all the time you will quickly be on the outside looking in because nobody will enjoy your company since you will always be seen as a negative person or in my day they were called “downers”.

Great posts, Karen. Always beautifully said. The Sears issue was annoying me yesterday with the posters who were continually knocking it. As I said yesterday, Sears knew what they were doing hiring Vanessa with her great sense of style. She can make ANY clothes look fab!!! And how nice for parents, whose teens may want to go to Sears for an outfit she’s wearing, instead of ridiculous Abercrombie. Talk about a completely overrated, overpriced store!

Malia, the funny thing is, we are all still fans, whether she knows, cares, or not! But I suspect she does appreciate the loyalty of her fans, who have been supportive through thick and thin!
Whether Vanessa or Zac read anything on Just Jared or not, I imagine they are aware of the type fans they have. They seemed to have gotten stronger over the past year and I believe from some of the things they have said, it is in part due to the strength they have gained from the type fans they have and the numbers of them they have. They may not always like the paparazzi or being followed, etc, but it does tell them they are popular or they wouldn’t be having that kind of notice. I’m sure they have “people” who keep them up to date as to what is going on or being said or Vanessa would never have been aware about the stupid “Zac don’t shower rumor” when she was asked by an equally stupid “reporter”. She would have first had to say “What are you talking about???”

So, we know she used to read JustJared, even if she doesn’t anymore. If you’ve been a fan that long maybe she read one of your posts! haha I’m sure she appreciated them- and she’s said before that she looks at fansites sometimes so you never know!

Nobody is mad at you for liking Ashley but it does seem like if Vanessa received a Grammy award and there was a thread here on Jared you would not be able to restrain yourself from saying, “I can’t wait until Ashley gets one, too” or “It would really be great if Ashley got one” or “I think Ashley should have gotten on too because she is just as talented.” And don’t get me wrong, when I have gone to Ashley’s threads and have looked over the comments there I get equally put out with people who write things like “We want more Vanessa, Zac, or Zanessa, Jared”. Ashley’s threads are no place to be bringing up anybody else unless it is relevant to the thread like when Ashley and Vanessa have had threads dealing with them together in some way.
