‘Wanted’ Breaks Box Office Records
The Angelina Jolie action thriller Wanted scored the best opening ever for an R-rated film released in June and the 6th best opening of all time for any R-rated pic, according to Variety.
The film, which also starred James McAvoy and Morgan Freeman, placed No. 2 at the box office this past weekend behind the endearing toon Wall-E.
At $23.1 million, Wall-E scored the biggest opening-day gross of all nine Pixar films and raked in an estimated $62.5 million for the weekend. Wanted soared beyond expectations, pulling in a whopping $51.1 million.
FYI: If you haven’t seen Wanted yet, you get to see Angie’s derrière in all its glory for a mere split-second.

Cinemascore said the main reasons given for choosing to see Wanted were the action (67%) and Jolie (61%). Exit polling showed the audience breakdown was 52%/48% male to female, 51%/49% under age 30 to over age 30.

Thanks Jared for the new thread. Congrats to Angie, James, Morgan and the rest of the cast, and also to everyone that was involved in the making of this fantastic movie. Wanted is AWESOME. Angie was fantastic and she kicks ass in this movie.
Great movie, I’m not sure it was really Angelina’s butt thought, I’d have thought she would have had a double. If it iwas hers i can understand why she’d show it off.

I love how now that the movie is a success all of the haters are trying to take credit away from AJ. (Oh, it’s not her movie, McAvoy is the star) And you know that if it didn’t do well they would lay all of the blame on her. Hypocrites. Yet another hater theory comes to an end.

Fonda was second and her movie was second-rate. The only good La Femme Nikita was the original played by Anne Parillaud.

When I went yesterday my showing were mostly young males and young couples. I went for Angie and of course for the action. A fantastic movie

It’s getting positively ridiculous. The way people are carrying on, you’d think it was the Second Coming. I like and admire Angelina and Brad, but come on, people, it’s a set of twins, for pete’s sake. No more, no less. And the tabs have taken to calling them the Wonder Twins. What do they expect them to do, levitate at birth?
