‘Wanted’ Breaks Box Office Records

The Angelina Jolie action thriller Wanted scored the best opening ever for an R-rated film released in June and the 6th best opening of all time for any R-rated pic, according to Variety.

The film, which also starred James McAvoy and Morgan Freeman, placed No. 2 at the box office this past weekend behind the endearing toon Wall-E.

At $23.1 million, Wall-E scored the biggest opening-day gross of all nine Pixar films and raked in an estimated $62.5 million for the weekend. Wanted soared beyond expectations, pulling in a whopping $51.1 million.

FYI: If you haven’t seen Wanted yet, you get to see Angie’s derrière in all its glory for a mere split-second.

I am living now in Prague. She was filming this movie here in Prague, everybody were so excited because such a big movie star was here!

Passing Through, what was the point of providing that link to Medialady? Aren’t you encouraging others to give more hits to that site? I have to wonder about some of the JP fans sometimes. It seems like you can’t live without the constant drama and actually relish it.
Why can’t a JP thread be about them for once and only about them without dragging other sideshows into it?

++++++++++++++++++

The point was that it’s ridiculous the kinds of insane ideas that the haters are coming up with just because they don’t like Angie. There are a ton of us who can’t stand X but we’re not spending all our time creating websites to enumarate her mediawh#ring and Lord knows we have enough evidence of it.

Also, you’re being deliberately obtuse. The link I provided was provided for the exact same reason that we provide links to articles - to prove what we’re saying is true. We all know the trolls challenge every little thing we say.

And furthermore, the info I posted wasn’t “dragging in other sideshows”. It was directly related to the on-going saga with ET and the other insanity that surrounds Angie’s pregnancy. The link was perfectly relevant to our dicussions of Brad & Angie and the lengths the haters will go to make them look bad. Are you now saying that we shouldn’t post anything that YOU deem a “sideshow”? If so, get over yourself already. We’ve got enough problems policing dipshits like Lilli what’s-her-face and her stupid links to Brad’s johnson without fans second-guessing and b#tching about the content posted by other fans.

And my final comment to you is…I didn’t make you click on the link. If you clicked on, then blame yourself because I stated very clearly what you would find at the site.

Agree.

******************************************************************
Agree also. Wish this filth was not here. Just validating it for the crazies by providing more hits. That makes me sad.

+++++++++++++++

ROTFLMAO. Sticking your heads in the sand ain’t gonna make crap like this go away. I provided the link as prove of what I was saying. I didn’t make you click on it and I didn’t make you read my post. If you prefer to wallow in ignorance for be it from me to deny you that right. Others here, myself included, found the site hilarious in its ridiculousness.

tabitha @ 07/01/2008 at 12:32 am Hancock opens on tuesday. I wonder if by the time Friday rolls around if it getsd panned by moviegoers as well that it won’t do as well as one would expect.

I hope Wanted makes at 25 million this weekend.

=====
Most movie buffs were predicting aound 30-32 million on this weekend.
Hancock would open big on the first few days,afterall it’s a Will Smith film but the word of mouth will kill that movie. It’s rotten tomatoe meter never go pass 34, it’s as bad as the recent Mike Myer bomb “The love guru”.the only thing different Hancock is a big budget movie (185 million) and tons of money probably around 100 million was used in it’s marketing. so it’s not going to end up like TLG.

Dont click link if not interested.
I was appalled at the continuous use of JJs as a referance site .
Talk about ludicrous obsessive hags from that nutty site.
The writer obviously wanted hits as looks like she got in her info from the looney bin site.

Wish they would just let Angie and Brad have their babes in peace.
Brad and Angie said they dont pat any attention to this stuff .
its a good thing they dont.

Angie called it in her VF article when she said she was hoping to keep her due date private b/c people go abit nuts,not her exact words but she was sooo right.. Either way tho if they tell or if they ,they still *try to hound them.

angie fan @ 07/01/2008 at 3:48 am

Thank you for the link.
It’s so touching . Angie’s deep and quiet voice!

hi again, i already introduced myself last week as an old fan of Jolie-pits, but a new poster, it is so good to find a place that appreciate the uniqueness of what this family is trying to do, how they left the shallowness of HW and embraced the entire world, Jen needs to do these shallow things as she has nothing else to offer, as a person with no substance, what else is left? enough about her, just wanted to state how good it feels that the Jolie Pitts is shown the love that they deserve, good night. Sonia

i havnt seen it yet but i love her films-yes some wernt as good as others but they are still good- somehow ur just drawn into her u just wanna know lol watch her hahaha–sad tho 2 we all love her and find her so interesting that it efffects her life-the paps hunt her so much coz lets face it we cant w8 to see the next pics so in the end its our fault and thats kinda sad-sorry to angie but im sure ill love ur film xx lol lmao–hello to new zealand pplz

Reel Geezers review of Wanted. The loved the film. :)

These two are so cute. I believe the Lorenzo was a movie producer. I think Marcia was a writer. He says Angie is the only movie star we have now in the old fashion sense of movie star.

Oops. I meant “They loved the film.” :)

Review from Seattle PI

I loved Angelina Jolie in this film. One of the things I like about her is that she has the unique ability to look very attractive yet still pull off that tough girl persona all in the same scene. I never thought I could be attracted to a woman and deathly afraid of her all within 30 seconds. I don’t know whether to be happy for Brad Pitt or scared for him. Who else would you cast in a role as a female assassin? I spent the last five minutes trying to think of someone and I’m drawing a blank.

Thanks! I was really touched to hear the story about the women who were disowned by their family because they were raped.

I wonder when Angie did this???? If it’s new, maybe she recorded it in the studio on the Miraval estate?
I bet she’s keeping busy studying humanitarian issues while waiting around for the twins.

Shear Genius @ 07/01/2008 at 7:40 am

With the action so amped up and violent, the film does not call for any Oscar-worthy performances, but Jolie dominates the screen every time she graces it.

Her performance is a sultry, sexy, leggy, enchanting eyes affair as she mows down bad guy after bad guy. The film probably would have earned another star if it were just two hours of her erratically driving through the city firing numerous guns.

They gave it 3 out of 5 stars
