‘Wanted’ Breaks Box Office Records
The Angelina Jolie action thriller Wanted scored the best opening ever for an R-rated film released in June and the 6th best opening of all time for any R-rated pic, according to Variety.
The film, which also starred James McAvoy and Morgan Freeman, placed No. 2 at the box office this past weekend behind the endearing toon Wall-E.
At $23.1 million, Wall-E scored the biggest opening-day gross of all nine Pixar films and raked in an estimated $62.5 million for the weekend. Wanted soared beyond expectations, pulling in a whopping $51.1 million.
FYI: If you haven’t seen Wanted yet, you get to see Angie’s derrière in all its glory for a mere split-second.

These two are so cute. I believe the Lorenzo was a movie producer. I think Marcia was a writer. He says Angie is the only movie star we have now in the old fashion sense of movie star.

This movie works because of Angie…no doubt. She is so awesome.
I think that it was Raquel Welch who said “when Angelina is on the screen you don’t see anyone else” . So true and when she is on the screen with “her love”, they burn it up.

Yes, it was Raquel Welch who said that. Indeed, we don’t see anyone else when she’s on screen. Coming from someone who herself was a very stunning woman during her time is a compliment for Angie.
That’s what I observed too. Every time she graces the screen, whether on TV or films, she REALLY DOMINATES it without intending to. She DRAWS OUR ATTENTION whether she’s promoting her movies or just during interviews. When she’s in a movie such as Wanted, she always COMMANDS OUR FULL ATTENTION even if she’s with other actors. I always say, WE JUST CAN’T HELP BUT LOOK AT HER ONLY. I mean really look at her. She’s such a VERY, VERY STRONG SCREEN PRESENCE. When she’s not on screen, we kind of miss hear, & can’t wait when she’ll appear again. For instance, while watching Wanted & she’s not yet on the screen for the first few minutes of the film, I was getting impatient. I also overheard from people at the back, “Where’s Angelina Jolie??” Her presence is that highly anticipated!! That’s the appeal of Angelina Jolie..has that so much affect on people…again, without her intending to.

Love Angie, but look out James McAvoy - this man can ACT!!! He’s proved himself to be a true thespian in films like The Last King of Scotland, then Atonement - but I promise you, this guy is gonna be a STAR!!!! He was good in Wanted but the abilities he showed are only the tip of the iceberg baby …

Angelina Jolie has checked into a hospital in the South of France in anticipation of giving birth to twins, the Associated Press reports.
“There’s no urgency,” hospital representative Nadine Bauer tells the AP. “[Jolie's admittance has] been planned for a long time.”
Bauer added, “She’s very well. Everything is fine.”
Jolie and Brad Pitt are expecting their fifth and sixth children. The clan currently consists of Maddox, 6, Pax, 4, Zahara, 3, and Shiloh, 2.
In May, Jolie, 33, said on the Today show, “Unlike most women, I love being pregnant. [It makes] you feel more like a woman than you’ve ever felt. You just feel like everything about your body is there for your baby.”
As for the babies’ first home, Jolie and Pitt recently signed a three-year lease on an estate in the French Riviera.
I wonder if anyone can tell me the brand name of Angelina’s sunglasses in WANTED. It looked so cool on her and I enjoyed the movie. She is a great actress.

Somone said that Timur Bekmambetov is from Russia. That is not true, actually he is from Kazakhstan. Russia is the place where he works and resides at the moment.
Don’t want to hurt one’s feelings but Jolie is not the best actor/actress in this movie, I do not think she’s a good actress at all, though she’s cute.

sorry, the crew has nothing to do with it. Individuality are what makes the film. De Niro is the essence of “Once upon a time in America” more than any other actors in that movies. The same way that No other actress could have pulled of Jodie Foster’s acting role in “Silence of the lambs”.
You can have loads of talent, what makes you attractive to the viewers is CHARISMA, the ability to attract the majority of them to see the movie BECAUSE of you first and foremost not because of the movie. That’s what differs from a Marylin Monroe or a Brigitte Bardot from all the other sex kitten of their time..
Angelina has more charisma than any other actor in that movie. She has more attractiveness index to make the majority of people actually go to see that movie because of her first and foremost.
And there is no doubt that she is a talented actress. Her versatility is one of the main indicator of that talent. Everyone with an oscar on his/her belt is by default a proven talented actor/and actress. Not every good have one but those who have been voted by the majority of their peers, professionals in their field are without any doubt…especially when they succeed in doing so when still semi notorious while stealing the spot light of the most famous one in that movie ate a tender age of 23 !
Angelina has it all : beauty, talent and charisma. That’s make her the number one in her field in those movies. I mean Charlize is as much beautiful and has talent too…she lacks in the charisma department and cannot attract a majority of viewers to see a movie because of her sole name in it.
Timur said it best : he wanted Angelina and no other. James had to underwent some casting and apply for the role with many others…not Angelina. She is the essence of ‘wanted’ eventhough James has undoubtedly loads of talent.
It was ANGELINA that made this a box office hit…period…Poor James better count his fcuking lucky stars

I’m so disappointed to come here and find Angelina’s fans making fun of James, or saying he’s nothing, that “it’s her film”. Don’t be stupid - why do you want to put a good, hard working actor like James McAvoy down because of Angelina? They worked together in the film, dumbasses, and you’re treating him as if he’s the enemy, have some respect for the man. He’s the main actor of the film, is in almost every scene, worked his butt out for the role, and is a FANTASTIC actor to boot. I will watch Wanted for James and James alone, and if the film is good I’m sure it’s mostly because of him, and Timur. Angelina brings in the money, but altough I was happy to see Wanted making so much at the BO, now I’m kind of hating it, just because of the comments I read here, and so many Angelina fans disrespecting James. If it was the opposite it wouldn’t happen. In many James’ boards, people are happy for him, but aren’t disrespecting Angelina. So, get a grip. Just because you like an actress, show some respect for the other actors involved in the film, too.
This was movie was mediocre at BEST and Angelina was the absolute worst part of it. She had like12 lines total. She literally stood there most of the time. And no - she really was NOT the star of this film - the main character is Macavoy. She is hot obviously but she really is lifeless.
