Call me Major Skeptical right now. This has been reported over and over again, and I think there are plenty of reasons to remain cautious now. The source that reported it is dubious at best, practically the equivalent of the National Inquirer. Would you buy it stateside if NI or Star were reporting it? Probably not. Wait and see, ya’ll, wait and see. Nobody wants the babies born before the proper time….except those mules over at FF.

I read the end of the last thread about their latest delusion, and I truly hope Brad and Angie’s people keep an eye on those deranged evil FF women. Maybe I am overreacting, but I really feel they are dangerous to the JPs. Being snarky and making mean comments on the internet about a celeb that rubs you the wrong way is one thing, but setting up a whole website and having it go on long term like this? Sick. I really hope Brad is aware of it so he can protect his family, especially at this special time.

I’m skeptical on this news, but if it’s true, hope the twins are alright, I think it was rather early if she is supposed to be 8 mon on June.

Angelina has never confirmed herself when she is due, I think the late August-date was incorrect. She looked pregnant back in the beginning of February, so if her due date was August 19, she would have been showing terribly early. But then again, it’s her second pregnancy and obviously you show earlier with twins.

Looking forward to a confirmation, to hear whether it’s two girls, their names… and above all, I hope everybody’s doing fine!

And most recently, she’s done just that with her new movie, “Wanted,” which is currently making a killing at the box office.

“Wanted” raked in a cool 51.1 million dollars at the American box office this weekend- a far better opening that the 35+ million dollar opening that the film was expecting to have…never underestimate the power of Angelina Jolie’s hotness!

In the New York Times review of the film, Manohla Dargis wrote of Angelina Jolie, “With her mean smiley-sneer and snug clothes, her heels and hieroglyphics, she cuts the kind of disciplinarian figure who can bring antsy boys of all ages to their knees or at least into their theater seats.” Looks like Dargis called this one.

Besides doing better than predicted, “Wanted” also proved to be the biggest opening ever of a live action film in Angelina Jolie’s career, and the movie enjoyed the most prosperous June opening ever of a rated R movie.

According to Cinemascore 67% of people who wanted to see the flick cited their desire to see an action film as their number one reason for being drawn to the movie, while 61% cited Angelina Jolie as the number one draw. These stats prove that being a soon-to-be mother of six has in no way had an effect on Jolie’s ability to draw in the masses. [b]Who says you have to be single and unattached to be sexy? Not only is “Wanted” filling seats in theaters, it’s actually getting good reviews. Looks like Angelina Jolie has something to smile about until the twins she’s expecting arrive…at which point she’ll have something even bigger to smile about.

Jolie says: “I’ve been so lucky in my career that I’ve been able to do a kind of “Mr. & Mrs. Smith” thing that’s really cool, and I’m made up to be as pretty as I can be. But I can also do a film like “Changeling “or “A Mighty Heart,” where it’s removed from that.

“There are those certain roles, like this role, where you joke with hair and makeup: “All right, make me foxy,’ ” she says. “I think it’s in every woman. It’s the little girl in us. There’s a side of us that likes to play dress-up and every once in a while get glammed up.”

For now, Jolie says she’s focusing on her role as doting mom.

She declined to confirm her due date, but she has very clear ideas about what the days and months leading up to the birth will be like.

“We’ve made a point to, both of us, not be working,” she says. “So we’ll be home together with the kids,” Maddox, 6; Pax, 4; Zahara, 3; and Shiloh, who just turned 2.

“At the same time we’re expecting two, we have four, so my focus now is on the four we have. And these are some big times for them, big moments in their lives. So every day is just about making sure that their schooling is going right and their manners are intact and we’re disciplining properly and we’re spending enough time with them individually, so they seem special. That’s a lot of balance when you have a lot of children.”

As for how Pitt is handling it all, she says, “I’m very lucky - I’m with a man who makes me feel very sexy pregnant and loves children. In the last few months it’s hard for me to pick up the other kids, so he’s there to help lift them up to me and things like that. He’s an extremely hands-on dad with all the kids and really, really supportive. Any woman knows that when you’re pregnant, if you have a partner who is embracing it with you and excited with you, it makes all the difference. I’m very lucky to have him.”

I feel lucky today ! If this is true. This birth is so anticipated that I joined the birth pool. Mine is July 9th, the closest to that 07-01-birth. The head of surgery, Dr. Oden is on slot 07-11. It’s $ 50.00 per slot of about 250 physicians, anesthetist and surgeons. There are 250 slots, which means $12,500.

The best part is - I was only one in that slot.

Get this Cliniqua - if I get so lucky, I will pay for my bowling team to see Wanted for the third time. Our team leader, Dr. Oden paid for the 2nd time, and if there is ever a third time, he’ll bar me from seeing Wanted . I may really have to just stay in the bathroom and let them see the movie again ( for crying out loud !) in peace. I love this team - they can be darn serious while at the Trauma Unit while saving lives, and downright silly and outrageous when it comes to Jolie’s Wanted !

And BTW - that time I foolishly interrupted the show, everybody was really nice, even the usher thought it was funny.

To my DWD colleague - I signed up for another 6 weeks volunteer tour. MSF USA just sent me a letter to go to NYC for the interview then 6-7 months HR checks and the usual drug test etc. I hope to be assigned to Congo, or any place in Africa !

Seriously though, I hope Angelina is doing fine, the twins, children and Brad !

When you have a C-section they INDUCE LABOR first, then perform the C-section. It’s just that the preferred method of doing a C-section is to induce labor so the patient doesn’t dilate too much and the baby(ies) don’t get too far down the birth canal.

She is not making things up, and she did say she wasn’t claiming to be an expert. Actually, if you are scheduled to be delivered by C-sec and you happen to go into labor beforehand, they might try to stop the labor or they might go ahead and do the C-sec, depending on the situation. However, if you are scheduled to be delivered by C-sec on a certain date, they don’t induce labor artificially ahead of time, they just do the epidural, then cut and snip.

Well although I am a Jen fan and I am supposed to hate Angie,I have to congratulate her if this is true and I hope her babies are healthy and she is happy

Hey, PT, yeah I saw that. And yeah, sometimes, like with your friends, they might induce labor beforehand if they are trying to give her a chance at delivering vaginally, and if that doesn’t work out, then snip, snip. So you are not wrong. But in my experience, there are some women who deliver by C-sec and never have to feel a single labor pain.

Whew! Okay…that was close. I’m not sure if any of them tried to deliver naturally first and I’m not going to bug them about it just to satisfy my curiosity. I just know they had C-sections for medical reasons. I try not to know too much info about other women’s uteri. Call me crazy, but that’s just how I am.

PT we keep missing each other, haha!! There might be a legit reason for your friends being induced beforehand, like maybe they wanted to see if they could go vaginally, but I have no way of knowing….and it could be as you say, the perils of being a patient in a teaching hospital.

Pixar’s latest animated featured WALL-E, which centers on a mute robot, snagged the number one spot at the box office over the weekend beating Wanted, which stars Angelina Jolie as an assassin. But although WALL-E earned more money, some critics are crediting Wanted with a statistical win.

What the commentators said
“A lonely little robot made millions of friends during the weekend,” said David Germain in the Associated Press, “and even outgunned Angelina Jolie.” WALL-E took in $62.5 million to Wanted’s $51.1 million. And WALL-E “maintains the perfect track record of Pixar”—all nine of their films have been “critical and commercial successes.”

Technically, “pound for pound, Wanted was the bigger film,” said Joal Ryan in E! Online. It debuted in “800 fewer theaters than WALL-E,” and “outgrossed the animated movie by nearly $500 per screen.” Not to mention the fact that “Wanted is rated R, while WALL-E is rated G for ‘good for a kid’s discount.’”

CHICAGO — They can’t club-hop till dawn, frolic on Miami Beach or check into a $1,700-a-day rehab facility, but they’ve overcome all those disadvantages in their crawl to the top.

Celebrity babies are hot, hot, hot.

With bidding for exclusive photos of Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie’s unborn twins reaching a reported $15 million, gossip magazines running the latest news on their daughter Shiloh’s potty training and temper tantrums (Nanny tells all!), People granting cover-story status to new moms ranging from the famously thin (Nicole Richie) to the downright obscure (”Full House’s” Jodie Sweetin), and blogs such as Celebrity Baby Scoop and Babyrazzi delivering the latest in milestone moments, we’re a nation on a first-name basis with the offspring of the rich and famous.

“Celebrities are much bigger than they were three years ago, so [interest in] every aspect of their lives has increased, and along with that is babies,” says Dina Sansing, entertainment director of Us Weekly.

All of which raises an obvious question: Why? Why do we suddenly care so much about the blankets-and-binkies set?

Part of the story is the star power of the parents. The publicity firestorm over the April 2006 birth of Suri Cruise, the daughter of Katie Holmes and Tom Cruise, had yet to die down when we got the first photos of Shiloh Jolie-Pitt, courtesy of Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt.

Before that we had the birth of Julia Roberts’ twins, the adoption of Zahara Jolie-Pitt, and the long-awaited arrival of Britney Spears’ first son, Sean Preston Federline, all in 2005.

“You’ve seen a lot of big babies in the last couple of years,” says Sansing.

But experts and observers also point to broader issues: cultural, economic and psychological.

Hard times

“Looking through the morning paper, you want to push past bad news about the economy, and the gas prices, and the war, and all these things and — aah! — you can read about the celebrities,” says Joanne Koch, co-author of “Good Parenting for Hard Times” and a professor of English at National-Louis University in Chicago. “And what is more hopeful and promising than a baby? I think it’s part of that hard-times mentality of escaping that drove people in the really hard times to the movies in the first place.”

During the Great Depression, Americans flocked to glamorous, optimistic movies that offered a reprieve from hardship, Koch says. In light of the current interest in babies, it may be worth noting that while Joan Crawford and Clark Gable were big stars at the time, so was little Shirley Temple.

“Shirley Temple was a child [and] in the ’30s, especially in the height of the Depression, she was huge. And the fact that she was a child added to that whole [idea that], she’s so cute, and she’s so young, and that’s so hopeful that a happy child is going to lead us out of these hard times,” Koch says.

Also big during the Depression were the Dionne quintuplets, the five identical daughters of an impoverished Canadian couple. Born May 28, 1934, the girls were taken from their parents as babies by the Ontario government and exhibited at a hospital known as Quintland.

About 5 million people came to see the first quints known to survive infancy before they were returned to their parents at age 9.

The rise of the modern celebrity baby story can be seen in archives of People magazine, which once granted cover-story status only to the offspring of royalty and A-list stars.

The magazine’s first baby cover, complete with a photo of the happy parents and big sister — went to Cher and Gregg Allman in September 1976, although Goldie Hawn has some claim to the title, as a story focusing in part on her pregnancy with her son Oliver Hudson ran in May of that year.

Cover stories

In the 1980s, Princess Diana, Princess Caroline and Sarah Ferguson scored baby covers, as did Lisa Marie Presley, Cybill Shepherd and Chevy Chase, but the total number of baby covers per year mostly hovered between zero and three.

By 2005, Britney Spears alone was scoring three baby covers in one year — “All about my baby,” “My Baby Shower!” and “Baby Love!”

In 2006, People had a total of six celebrity baby covers, not counting a People Extra titled Babies of the Year. In 2007 there were seven covers, and in the first six months of this year, there have been five, including Jennifer Lopez, Matthew McConaughey, “Full House’s” Sweetin, Christina Aguilera and Nicole Richie.

“Having a baby can elevate someone’s level of stardom,” says Sansing of Us Weekly.

“For someone like Nicole Richie, she had gone through all these weight struggles — everyone thought she was too thin — and then she’s having a baby. And therefore her life becomes more interesting.”

Aguilera reportedly got as much as $2 million for her People photo exclusive, Richie $1 million. Katie Caperton, a deputy editor at OK! magazine, recently told the New York Daily News that “we … do tremendously well on the newsstand” with celebrity baby covers.

At Celebrity Baby Scoop, a blog that gets over a million page views a month, owner Lisa Weber says babies may be benefiting from trickle-down fame.

“I think [the interest] stems from the celebrity moms,” she says. “We’re just fascinated with them, and it definitely is relatable; a lot of my readers are moms. They’re pregnant, and they like seeing these celebrities are just like them in lots of ways.”

Chicago marriage and family therapist Pamela Brand agrees that the moms and our desire to know more about them are central to the celebrity-baby story.

Learning about moms

“It takes these young, beautiful, almost perfect-appearing women, and brings them to a different level. They open up their lives. And they’re not all that open, and you can’t really understand all that much about them when you see them in pictures. They’re hard to read. You just see them as these beautiful beings.

“When they have children and are willing to show their children and their families, you can read a little bit more into what’s going on.”

Part of the story is how the parents are parenting, from Britney Spears’ car-seat lapse, in which she was photographed driving with her infant son Sean Preston in her lap (she said she was fleeing aggressive paparazzi), to Jennifer Garner’s trips to the playground.

“You can start to tell a little bit about the character of the celebrity by watching them, and I think that is fascinating to people. They want to try to understand who’s who and how do they function and how do they compare with me, and how is their relationship affected?” says Brand.

“Marriages can be very challenged by the birth of a child, or a second child, so I think that people take fascination in knowing, oh, it’s not just me. They’re having trouble, too.”

Beyond the Jolie-Pitt and Holmes-Cruise progeny, the list of top babies includes Garner and Ben Affleck’s daughter, Violet Affleck, and Kingston Rossdale, son of musicians Gwen Stefani and Gavin Rossdale.

“You either know [Stefani's] music or you don’t, but I think everybody knows her, just her look. She has created her own niche, and her son Kingston is a little star himself. The way he dresses, it’s just amazing,” Weber says.

Also sought-after by the paparazzi are Gwyneth Paltrow’s kids, Apple and Moses Martin, and Courteney Cox Arquette’s daughter, Coco.

Even aging celebrity babies are feeling the heat. Sarah Jessica Parker recently told New York magazine that photographers have been more aggressively pursuing the children of stars “over the last four years [and] even more so [in] the last 24 months.”

Her son, James Broderick, is still a target at the ripe old age of 5.

Heath Ledger didn’t so much give a performance as he disappeared completely into the role; I know I’m not the first to suggest this, but he’ll likely get at least an Oscar nod (if not the win) for Best Supporting Actor. ******* flick’s nearly three hours long and only leaves you wanting more (in a great way). The actress, who is expecting twins, checked in to the Lenval Hospital in Nice, France on Tuesday, Nadine Bauer, a rep for the hospital, told Access Hollywood.

“Angelina is healthy” the hospital rep said of the expecting mom.

Bauer told Access she believes the actress arrived at the hospital about two days ago . Her admittance to the maternity wing of the hospital was a planned bed rest and not an emergency.

Angelina Jolie has checked into a hospital in southern France as she prepares to give birth to twins, a hospital rep confirms to Usmagazine.com.

“Yes, Jolie is here, and she is absolutely fine,” the rep says. “There is no need for people to worry.”

The Associated Press first reported the news.

Hospital spokesperson Nadine Bauer told the AP that Jolie, 33, had to planned to check into the hospital’s maternity wing for some time. She said Jolie was admitted so she could be kept under surveillance and not to give birth immediately.

It had been falsely reported in late May that Jolie had given birth to twins.

jealousy is an ugly thing.

According to the latest reports from a hospital administrator this was planned for her to go into the hospital way ahead of the due date - it is not an ememgency situation but quite normal. Remember Julie Roberts was in the hospital for a couple of weeks before she gave birth — bed rest with twins is necessary to keep them healthy and inside the womb as long as possible - they grow better there — however, should there be a need to deliver early everthing is ready. The closer to term the twins are the healthier they will be now and in the future. Obviously she will not go full term - I don’t believe twins ever do - but lets all hope they hang in there as long as is safely possible.

I hope to God they dont get the pictures. Lately, everyfreakingthing that X and Peeboy do has been reported and explained away on their site. But a story of Angie being admitted to the hospital is not. Even Lainey was making fun of them on her blog yesterday about how they are so vigilant in their reporting of the famew**re to say that she has been lowkey during her visit with her boytoy. But yet they could report what she was wearing.

I believe they started this non-coverage of the JPs after they were criticized by the other mags that they were being given preferential treatment by Brad and Angie, because they were given all their interviews and pictures. So now they have gone to the other extreme it seems. Either that, or they really have been threathened by Huvane. Previously, we all know, they would have been front and center with this news. It is puzzling.

Relying on her own words, we can do the math - Jolie is at least at pre-term or likely, at termed stage of gestation. [G]

You are absolutely correct - we have no strict knowledge of maternal health, complications or otherwise. So any speculation is worthless.

What is factual is that Jolie was admitted for monitoring. So given that she is between pre-term or at term G, and G [a] is 1 (Shilo), G [b] is multiple ( twins - also confirmed by Jolie ), and G [c] is also 1 (1 prior C-section) I’d say that this planned admission is a good medical decision.

Independence Day could be coming early for Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt’s latest spawn.

The Oscar-winning actress checked into a French hospital about 10 p.m. Monday to deliver her twins.

“Angelina was admitted last night and is very happy and in excellent health. Everything’s going very well,” Nadine Bauer, spokeswoman for the Lenval hospital in Nice, tells E! News.

“This is something she had planned with her doctor for the end of her pregnancy for some time. She had been advised it would be a good idea to rest during the final days and it has been booked for a while now,” says Bauer.

“There was no medical emergency that was the reason for her being admitted—it’s standard procedure,” Bauer explains.

Jolie is expected to remain in the $500-per-night private room (with a sea view, of course) until after her twins are born.

“It’s lovely, and the nurses pay attention to your every need,” Lucie Coleman, a Nice resident who recently gave birth to twins at the hospital, tells E! News. “The rooms are lovely and airy, with views out over the sea, and they have televisions and private bathrooms.”

And Jolie’s treatment while in the hospital will, by the sound of it, be top-of-the-line.

“The food menus are healthy—things like chicken with asparagus and pasta and fresh fruit—and she’ll be delivered her meals three times a day in bed. And if she feels like a snack or drink at 3 a.m., they’ll get it for her,” adds Coleman.

“Going in early before a birth with twins is very common in France, as the final weeks are so hard going.”

There was no immediate comment from the couple’s reps.

Confirmation of Jolie’s admittance came after France’s Closer tabloid jumped the gun earlier this morning, announcing that Jolie had already given birth. The publication has since retracted the report, claiming Jolie instead is biding her time in the hospital and not expected to give birth until later this week.

The twins will be kids Nos. 5 and 6 for Jolie, 33, and Pitt, 44, joining siblings Maddox, 6; Pax, 4; Zahara, 3; and Shiloh, 2.

I am getting really excited…I had convinced myself that I wouldn’t be here for the arrival of the twins but now….who knows maybe I might be here to have a celebration with all of you :-)

May the powers that be protect and guide her and her children. Having babies is one of the toughest acts a woman can endure, even more so than the gun-packing torture shown on the big screen. There’s just no comparison, and I feel for her in carrying two babies in the summer! I had all three of my children during the summer, and by the end of the pregnancy, they were so big I could hardly breathe. Babies really have a way of taking over and telling the body what they need.

Angie is a strong woman, and I know her family will certainly be blessed, just as they have blessed others. (I also hope, contrary to this craziness, that Ange can keep the babies in for a little longer.. If she’s not due till mid August, it would be better for them to stay in another couple of weeks..)

My heart goes out to her and her family. Blessings and prayers for health and peace~

I’m not keeping track of E.T. but have they retracted their false story at all? They should have done that long ago instead of prolonging their shame. Media do make mistake and that happens, but rarely they postpone retractions this long to prolong their embarrassment imo.

I bet the children are excited. As Pax has a monkey in his stomach and Z has baby pigletts who want brownies. Brad will probably bring them to the hospital to visit Angie so they won’t worry about her or the twins. That would really be cute to see.

So if Brad’s parents are her then maybe that man on the courtyard with Angie, Z and Shiloh was Brad’s father. So they had everything all planned out. I wonder if JV will be invited to come and share in this moment? I am conflicted on this. I think what ever Angie wants should suffice. There is no hard and fast rule concerning who a person should invite on such an occasion.

I agree dina concerning JV & photos. It is up to them concerning photos and Angelina concerning her father. I certainly am not going to get upset if JV sees his grandchildren. He is not might father. OT: the cougar-mama’s boy relationship is working, I guess. She was mobbed at the airport like a rockstar according to TMZ when she came back from her trip. People would have to put up an article just cause many seems interested. As I said, it all boils down to money.

Angelina Jolie is in a French hospital to give birth. But who will liberate the twins?

Local ob-gyn Michel Sussman is the doctor in charge of her pending delivery at Lenval hospital in Nice, the facility’s spokeswoman, Nadine Bauer, tells E! News exclusively.

Bauer says Sussman will be making a statement following the birth, but there is no word yet on when Jolie’s twins are due to arrive.

Despite some media reports that Jolie’s stateside doctor, Jason Rothbart, would be flying to France to tend to the delivery, he remains at his Los Angeles-area office seeing patients.

Rothbart, who also handled the births of Tori Spelling’s two children, delivered Jolie and Brad Pitt’s first biological child, Shiloh Nouvel, on May 27, 2006, at Cottage Medi-Clinic hospital in Namibia.
