Chace Crawford Digs Cougars
Chace Crawford films scenes with newbie Madchen Amick for their cult series, Gossip Girl, in New York City on Thursday.
Amick, 37, will appear in the first few eps of the new season as cougar Catherine Mason and tempt Nate Archibald (Crawford, 22) with a May-December romance. In the first four or five episodes, it will also be revealed that Amick’s character will also have “a surprising connection to another new character on the show.”

Madchen Amick has been an actress for many years. She was one of the main actresses in Twin Peaks. She’s also done many, many other roles that I can’t remember by name…she is an actress that is not new to television or the film industry.
And I must say, it’s nice to see that Chace Crawford looks like he works out…= )

Madchen is not a newbie. She’s been around for decades in the business. She played Shelley on Twin Peaks and was great. Give this woman the respect she deserves.

I stood next to Ms. Amick when I was an extra on “Ed” on NBC filming in NJ during Ed’s final season. This woman is absolutely beautiful. She has been acting for many years and somehow hasn’t really been known by name (despite her interesting name). I have seen her on ER and other shows. I like how they say “newbie” because it makes i t clear what a long, hard road that Hollywood can be.

I think it’s going to be an interesting plot, but can’t imagine that it’ll go anywhere more than a few episodes. What I’d really like to see is for Nate to get back with Vanessa, or barring that, Serena. He’s got so much more chemistry with them than he does with Blair and she needs to be with Chuck anyway. Chace looks absolutely gorgeous, as always.

i love serenate in the books, but its hard for me to like serenate in the show since blake lively is very average looking, and looks much older than nate/chace. not only that..she’s also very annoying on screen..she’s can’t emote. she’s going to make serenate annoying and boring.

To #36, a May/December romance is a term for when there is a large age difference between the two partners. It’s like one of them is in the ’spring’ of their youth/life while the other is getting on up there in life, ie. the autumn or winter of their life. Although, I have to say that 37 is hardly the winter of one’s life….more like mid-summer!
Madchen Amick was in the movie “Dream Lover” you must rent it! It’s a wicked movie and you won’t believe the ending!!! Awesome!!! One of my favorite!! Great Plot!!! James Spader was in it as her husband! She was so cute and super skinny in it!
