OlderVanessa Hudgens: I’m a Hopeless Romantic
On-and-off-screen lovers Zac Efron and Vanessa Hudgens are no longer hiding their relationship, reports USA Today.
Zac and Vanessa, aka Zanessa, were openly affectionate on the set of High School Musical 3: Senior Year, from wrapping their arms around each other to splitting a peanut butter and jelly sandwich.
“Life imitates art,” says [director and choreographer] Kenny Ortega. “It doesn’t hurt us that Zac and Vanessa have a connection. When Zac and Vanessa first auditioned for me, they didn’t know each other. But the chemistry those two kids share was just there. It has always been there.”
Vanessa, 19, is a believer of her chemistry on-screen with Zac. “I’m such a hopeless romantic,” she says. “You can feel the emotions Gabriella has for Troy. Zac and I have done three movies together now, and we can basically do anything in front of each other. We’re so comfortable, we’re not afraid to take chances.”
All Zac will say about his real-life romance is, “I’m glad Troy and Gabriella’s relationship comes across as real.”

I’m curious which movie Zac and Vanessa were “promoting” when they walked the red carpet at the Palm Springs International Film Festival in January.
Hairspray was over, HSM2 was history, and we didn’t even know if they were going to/had signed on to do HSM3. They didn’t start work on HSM3 until May 2008.
And when they quietly”snuck in” to the MTV Movie Awards without walking the gold carpet? Don’t they know that if they are going to promote something they need to be visible on that gold carpet?
They are so cute together. It doesn’t matter if people think its real or not, they know it is, and even though they don’t show it as much as some other couples, they don’t have to, its their lives after all.

And Zac is really private of his relationship with Vanessa cuz he actually cares. He is protective of her. They are serious about the relationship and don’t want anybody interfering. Actually, they look very much alike they could pass as sisters if you know who Catherine Zeta-Jones is.
It doesn’t always happen for everyone that they find the physical attributes they’re looking for in the person they end up loving but it’s happened for Zac and real fans that care about HIM not THEIR WANTS would be happy for him.
Interestingly, Like Catherine Zeta-Jones started off her career on stage and musicals in the UK before landing the Mask of Zorro role that led her to hollywood. She tried to make it in the music industry but her first album and single didn’t do very well so she concentrated on acting going on to win an Oscar for her role in Chicago. She is also a notable dancer.
So apart from their looks, She and Vanessa have music, acting and dancing in common. They both also have very beautiful smiles. Zac knew what he was talking about and he is with his dream girl. It doesn’t get better than this.

Yes, yes, yes. The chemistry is so evident in this pic, anyone must be blind to miss it. I do believe every word Zac utters as what he says he gives it alot of thought and Vanessa is more spontaneous in her answers. They do so compliment each other, she’s more bubbly and outgoing and he more serious. Didn’t anyone notice Vanessa does make good friends easily and Zac seems more cautious. She has all the qualities that Zac wants in a woman. Speak for yourself. I’ve never seen any candids with Zac and his HS co-star. As an adult who’s seen and experienced romances, I could so tell that they were promoting a movie and had no deeper connection other than friendship. I didn’t need the apparent lack of contact immediately promotion ceased or inability to take a picture together at subsequent public events where both have been in attendance to prove that.
I’m sure having dated Zac for three years, both pre and post HS (including attending the premieres with him), and still going strong, Vanessa knows him a lot more than you can gather from one public statement and really stands in no need of your advice.
I’m also certain Zac knows more than you what he wants and has already gone for that, but feel free to predict away, no harm done.

As far asI’m aware Vanessa has’nt got Zac tied down so I’m sure if he wanted to go off and experience dating lots of girls and having fun then he could and would.
And as for HS what candids? The only photo’s you have ever seen with him and his co-star have always been work related and since that ended there have been no photo’s of them at all. All I will say to you is you say that ‘the old people’ won’t accept that Zac and Vanessa could be fake well at the same time you need to accept that they could be for real.
Like you everyone is entitled to their opinion whatever your age. And as for their vacation 100% congratulations to them for managing to get one over on the pap’s and manage to have some qulaity time together without them in their face’s.
The pap’s will have plenty of opportunity to snap them when they get back what with the various things they both will be doing so a little time away from them in their face’s has only gotta be good and relaxing for Zac and Vanessa.
And as for trying to trace the plane that’s just not right, even if you could that still does’nt mean they would be staying at where the plane landed they could easily have gone on somewhere else. #187, As ‘old people’ like to be rational, let’s take your accusations rationally.
Speaking for myself as an ‘old person’, I was brought up and taught that caring about someone involves respecting them as human beings and caring about their happiness not what interests me in them. It seems we have different ideas of what it means to be a fan.
If I believed Zac and Vanessa were fake and would do anything for money and success, I wouldn’t respect them and I wouldn’t be a fan, for older people, it’s about personality and character, not just looks.
I am a fan because the dynamics of their relationship that we are able to see, in my own experience, points to a couple in a serious and committed relationship, who refuse to exploit that relationship just to fulfil the unreasonable demands and fantasies of teenagers.
None of the ‘old people’ here think they are all lovely and perfect. We know that because they are humans, they have flaws like us but we choose to keep emphasising what is positive about them because we would like to be treated the same way.
We were also taught in our days and have experienced that real love encompasses the good and the bad, for better for worse. We don’t need to create any visuals in our minds.
From the actions we see, we observe the good and the things we appreciate in them, realise they still have flaws but love them, flaws and all.
For the ‘old people’ here. We don’t need paparazzi intruding in their privacy to keep us interested in them as we’re not that fickle. If that’s what keeps you interested as a fan, speak for yourself.
There are enough public events, appearances on mags and TV, newspaper articles, authorized photographs etc to keep us interested and give us fodder for speculations and discussions. We didn’t get candids when they were filming but their threads then run into the 700s. We had a lot to talk about, but then we’re ‘old people’.
Being on this and other fansites is what fans do. We are here to support them, keep up to date on news about them, clarify what is true and what is a rumour and appreciate them with other like-minded fans.
It becomes an intrusion when people who claim to care about them want to know the intimate details they refuse to share and go to extra lengths not to reveal. That is lack of respect for who they are.
I could say ‘I’m getting really annoyed with’ so called fans who don’t think much of Zac and Vanessa, have no respect for their privacy or their choices, would go through illegal means to get restricted info about them, don’t care about them as long as they get want THEY (the fans) want, are willing to believe anything about them but just like the fact that they are together and they look good.
However, it’s a free world, anybody could call themselves fans. We just have to agree to disagree on definitions of a fan. Maybe you could allow us ‘old people’ to be fans the way we know just as you choose to follow your own definition of a fan. That would be much appreciated. Enjoy your day.

As much as I was hoping for a Zac and Vanessa only vaca, it is looking more and more to me like they may be with Ashley and Jared since there are no new pictures of them either. At any rate, if in fact Disney sprang for the jet and vacation, I’m sure they would include Ashley too. I just hope if it is a Disney sponsored event, that the whole cast is not there. Hopefully that will come later. Zac and Vanessa need time alone. Hoping they are getting just that.

I have no problems with them having young fans and the fact that they can draw fans from all age groups and from all walks of life is a feat in itself. So who are you to dictate who should be a fan of theirs.
Do not forget Zac and Vanessa are becoming young adults and they cannot hold the attention and adoration of tweens or teens forever. The”Older Fans” will still be around rooting for them. I think it’s more like the paps are combing for Zac and Vanessa everywhere or they feel they’ll get the same old pictures of Ashley and Jared on the beach which might not fetch them more money. Someone else mentioned it on one of these threads but I’ve never seen a picture of Zac hanging out with Jared and it doesn’t strike me that he would want to spend his vacation with them when they’ve all been together in Utah and would be thrown together again during HSM 3 promos but who knows.

I wanted to say that Zanessaluver23’s contention that Zac and Vanessa are “just for teens” to be very naive and shows very little understanding of how showbusiness actually works. No actor wants to appeal to just ONE age group. There are actors where that has been the case and most of them are no longer in the business. The broader the fan base the longer the longativeity.
Zac is going to be 21 and Vanessa is going to be 20, they aren’t kids anymore and the kids who loved “High School Musical” are going to grow up and their tastes are going to change. So the challenge for Zac, Vanessa and the other actors of their generation is to stay relevant so the more fans they have in ALL age groups the more likely that is to happen.

Just try to follow this little bit of logic: Do you THINK that Zac and Vanessa would be so popular if they did not have us OLD FOLKS as fans? How much more attention do you think they get because they have so many of us as well as you younger fans? Their fan base would well be cut in half if it wasn’t for people who are “older”. Plus, young people are more prone to jump to the “new flavor of the month” like so many people who write things like “I used to love Zac but I’m into the Jonas Brothers now, they are so much better looking”. It doesn’t take much to turn your heads and a lot of times it has nothing to do with talent or they fiber of a person’s inner self—it has to do with looks and who is getting the attention at the moment.
And lastly, as my friends go sox, Boji, troy, Naomi, & Cindy have pointed out, we ALL have lives—real ones—where you have a job, have to worry about paying bills and dealing with problems of kids and homes, etc. We don’t have time to sit at the computer and “wait” for news or pictures of Zac and Vanessa. And before you say that is what I am doing, I just got done working 14 hours as I am a nurse. This is my leisure time and I come here, not just for Zac and Vanesa news but to exchange ideas and pleasantries with my cyber friends—those I mentioned and a few more. It is relaxing and I am not holding my breath waiting for a pap’s pictures of these adorable kids or trying to pry into their lives.
One last thing zanessaluver23: You think it is strange that us “old folks” like someone younger than us. Do you like actors who are older than 20–that’s how old Zac is which is older than you? Don’t you like some actor who is—God forbid—in their 30’s? Doesn’t that make you sick since that person isn’t in your age range?

I don’t really think Zac and Vanessa are with Ashley and Jared either. I think since they have seen so much of them in the last couple months that they don’t need to see them some more right now. I know it is possible and that we have not seen any other pictures of Ashley and Jared. BUT—and I know I run the risk of making some angry but—I don’t think the paps are interested in anymore pics of Ashley and Jared if they are still on the beaches of Hawaii. There are only so many people who are going to buy pics of these 2 when it is the same thing—another indication how us “oldies” make Zac and Vanessa more popular as Ashley doesn’t have as many “older” fans but has more tweens and teens. When paps know their is a wide range of interest in an actor/ couple that is who the paps are seeking a picture of. They have Ashley and Jared doing their thing on the beach—they don’t need that picture again. Also, Jared wouldn’t have a fan base if it wasn’t for Ashley as most people would not know who he is. That’s not to say he doesn’t work hard or is not talented but they just don’t know him. There were a lot of talented dancers from HSM 1&2 who’s name is not known by anybody. Jared’s band has now become better known because of his association with Ashley which is good for him AND I hasten to say before everyone has a coronary that I don’t believe that Jared is only with Ashley because he is using her. I THINK he does love her. But he has benefited due to her popularity. they may still be in Hawaii but they may also be back in LA and no paps have taken any more pictures of them.

Jo, you could be right that an agency has the photos but isn’t releasing them until an agreed-upon time. I also don’t know how true it is that paparazzi “comb the beach” for celebs. I believe they are tipped off by insiders, i.e. resort employees, publicists, etc.
I used to work for an airline and I know that some reservation agents, who have access to passenger manifests (lists), tip off photogs about celebs’ arrivals/departures. They are compensated for this info. Before 9/11, it wasn’t as easy to do because people could fly under an assumed name…not anymore. Their reservation name needs to match their passport/ID.
Remember, paparazzi make REALLY good money and can afford to pay for info to make their jobs easier, and they do that all the time.

i have not posted on here in months but i couldn’t resist with all this talk over who is too old to enjoy hsm and be fans of zac and vanessa, or any of the other hsm stars. the last time i checked, the entertainment industry was just that, for entertainment! it doesn’t discriminate by age. if something appeals to someone, they have the freedom to watch it. i can enjoy a movie starring somene as young as 10 and the next movie may star someone in their 70’s. shocking isn’t it?
having young children who are just entering their teen years (13, 11 and 7), i was thrilled that they latched onto high school musical and that it was embraced by so many of their friends: kids who are bombarded with sexual inuendos and violence in many movies they watch - left, right and centre. i found myself drawn in as well by the chemistry of the cast and i couldn’t help but be hooked by the sweet, loving relationship between zac and vanessa that blossomed as a result of them being brought together through this franchise.
they have conducted themselves with wisdom, maturity and respect for themselves and each other, individually and collectively. we have been allowed to see a little more of what they have been fighting so hard to protect as they have become more comfortable with figuring out how to have a private relationship in a very public environment. as a couple and as individuals, they are a wonderful testimony to their parents who raised them. they have touched a cord in me and it is no one’s place to tell me that i am too old to admire them and wish them all the very best.

Yes, candagirl, if only the young people could understand what more mature fans—to me you would not be old with that age kids but you most certainly are more mature than someone 15—see in Zac and Vanessa. We see what we hope that we have or will nurture in our children because we, being older and wiser. know what is important to get through this life. We see bright young people with promise who were obviously loved which has given them security and young people who were taught manners which in return gave them respect for others and they watched parents who obviously sacrificed to make their children’s dreams and aspirations come true which taught them to appreciate what was given to them and in return feel the need to contribute something in return. They were encouraged which made them want to do their best. Most of all they must have had parents who loved each other and worked together because these parents have been together for a least 2 decades. All of these things have taught these kids what love is meant to be and that is why they know respect for each other and know when to show affection and when to keep their mouths shut. It seems they know what is important and I applaud the Efrons and the Hudgens’. Because these things are what we see in their kids and why we are fans and why we are such staunch supporters. I don’t want to tear them down, I want to build them up. We’ve seen too many train wrecks of the young in Hollywood.

Roxygirl……It isn’t just HSM that draws people of all ages to support Zac and Vanessa,they are so much more than just HSM,both individually and as a couple.They are both talented and conduct themselves in a way that shows maturity beyond their years.
To my knowledge,there is no age requirement to being a fan of anybody.I personally admire both of them and fell that they have that extra special something that makes them stand out from other young Hollywood celebs.

I love HSM and think that Zac and Vanessa are a credit on how they handle their relactionship and how private they try to hard to keep it that way, obvioulsy close friends and family know them better than any of us so I dare say they are more open with them but I bet even then it’s only to some degree all couple’s have things and feelings they kep for just between the two of them.
I’m no teenager but got into liking HSM through my daughter who love’s it and thinks Zac is fit, we went to se the Ice show last year and it was really good.
All star’s need to be able to go from the teenage hearthrob into the adult audience to kee[p going in some ways and I have always thought what has age got to do with anything you like what you like and that’s it, all us older fans are doing is appreciating what a nice young man Zac is growing into and the same for Vanessa she is becoming a lovely young women even my daughter who is 18 say’s that Vanessa has a natural beauty so what’s so wrong in enjoy what they do. I like many have a life a husband, children and a job I love and just pop on the internet now and then but I also enjoy reading about John T who I have loved watching since ‘Grease’ and many . other’s.
Both myself and daughter are lookingforward to all of Zac’s and Vanessa new projects that are due out, and with ‘17 Again’ I loved Matthew Perry so I’m lookingforward to seeing him as well as Zac.
I’m sure that we will get some picture’s of Zac and Vanessa soon as Zac is due to do some presenting soon, but I’m glad that they have managed to give the pap’s the slip and just spend time relaxing and no doubt having fun without a camera in their face, unless of course you count the photo’s they may have taken for themselves like any other couple on a holiday.

I’m so glad that these two are a couple, im from the UK so i don’t necessarily no everything about these two. But from everything that has happened to Vanessa and for Zac to stand buy her is TRUE LOVE it’s just remarkable, they will be together forever, it’s hard to let a boyfriend/girlfriend just walk away after a long time so if they do have a mini break from each other they will realise what they miss.
