Angelina Jolie Gives Birth To Twins

Hollywood star Angelina Jolie has given birth to healthy twins, a girl and a boy, in the French Riviera maternity clinic she has checked into, the Nice-Matin newspaper has reported, quoting her gynaecologist.

The twins, Knox Leon and Vivienne Marcheline, were born shortly before 8pm on Saturday (0300 AEST Sunday), the paper said quoting gynaecologist Michel Sussmann.

Jolie is fine after having a Caesarian section, it added.

Knox Leon was reported to weigh 2.27 kilograms (five pounds) and Vivienne Marcheline 2.28 kilograms (5.02 pounds).

The babies’ first photograph was sold to a US paper for $US11 million ($A11.45 million), Nice-Matin said, adding that the money would be given to a humanitarian cause.

A source close to the clinic had said earlier the birth was expected in mid-August.

The twins brought 33-year-old Jolie’s brood with partner Brad Pitt to six.

Pitt was seen entering Nice’s Santa Maria clinic, part of the Lanval hospital on the seafront Promenade des Anglais, on July 2 with at least two of their children.

A spokesperson for Lanval could not immediately be reached Sunday morning to confirm the report.

Jolie and Pitt, 44, have been the subject of celebrity gossip fascination since they met on the set of their 2005 film Mr and Mrs Smith.

Dubbed “Brangelina,” they have adopted three children: Maddox, six, born in Cambodia; four-year-old Pax, born in Vietnam; and Zahara, three, born in Ethiopia.

They also had a biological child, Shiloh, born in Namibia, in May 2006.

The pair, who frequently top magazine lists of the world’s most beautiful people or couple, set up home in May in a chateau they rented from an American acquaintance in France’s Provence region.

Besides that, they know how to manage their time. Every move, whether adoption or birth has been thought out and planned. The thing that Angelina emphasized most was giving each child ‘their’ time. They have managed this in the past and there is no reason to doubt that they will not continue to do so. Remember Jon and Kate Plus 8? The Dilleys who had 6 at one time too? The Duggar family of Arkansas who have 18 kids? These families with less resources seem to be doing fine. Let’s give Angelina and Brad credit. They will not do anything that is not in the best interest of ALL their children.

the e-mail from Extra says “wrong information” not that the birth didn’t happen. The article I just posted says it was one boy and one girl. So who knows….I wont believe these babies are born until we see them!

just wondering: I wasn’t around JJ for Shi’s birth…but was it like this too? Tabs saying she was born when she wasn’t?…I don’t remember it being that way, but I cannot remember that well…

Anyways…I cannot wait to see the beautiful babies :D

It kinda sucks for me because I would really want to buy the mag to see the babies but the thought of them (the magazines) spending so much just for pictures turns my stomach. I’m so glad that it’s Brad & Angie though because they make no pretense about where the money they recieve will go. It’s not them, it’s the ….shallow tabloid business I guess…that makes me sick. Sigh.
Anyway, I hope they have a boy and a girl also. That would be too cute…either way as long as they are healthy :-)

Well, I think that even if the story was true, the hospital will not release the statement until at least a day later or so..Why? For the same reasons why she did not confirmed until Cannes that she was having twins that is, as a mom she wants to make sure that the babies are healthy and might want to bond a little bit.

Also, aren’tt paparazzis following Brad and the children all day? well, if paparrazis did then most likely they know if all of the children/family was in the hospital at the time of the birth or later.

I know what you mean. But tabloids in general are sensationalist papers, and “the poor man’s” journalism. I really would not like to support the mags that bash the Jolie-Pitts freely, but I’ll think of it as my small donation to Angelina and Brad’s charity.

Anyway, btw, ignore the people call you a troll, I got the same thing some other day, and usually it’s people who don’t see the normal posters and are just running in for today.
