OlderBrad Pitt Cut The Umbilical Cord!
The mayor of Nice, Christian Estrosi, center, holds the birth certificates of one of Angelina Jolie’s twins, Knox Leon Jolie-Pitt, as he and Dr. Michel Sussmann, Angie’s obstetrician, left, pose for the media, at the Lenval Hospital in Nice, southern France on Sunday. Knox was born at 6:27 pm and Vivienne Marcheline came within a minute of that time.
Outside the hospital, Sussmann shared how smoothly the delivery of Knox and Vivienne went:
On Brad and Angie during the labor and delivery: “[They] were talking, they were together. It was an epidural, so [Angelina] was awake and speaking and laughing. They were happy.”
On Brad never leaving Angie’s side: “He was my assistant! [He even cut the babies' umbilical cords!] He was … perfectly calm, totally determined, very pleased to be at the birth of his children, very moved and very emotional.”
On when Angie and the babies will leave the hospital: “I don’t know. She will stay for a few days. You know, in Europe it isn’t like in the United States, where the patients go home after three days. They will stay a bit longer until everything is okay.”
On the delivery in general: “Absolutely no problems. The babies are fine. The babies are with the mother and father and they are fine.”

and what about their size?? isnt 5lbs for a newborn pretty tiny??? at 7lbs a newborn is small but normal… at 5lbs a normal baby has eight to ten more weeks to gain that essential two pounds. is this something normal for twins? just wondering….

Totally over the top coverage, you’d think these kids were the second coming. Brad and Angelina are not even married, and are the result of at least an affair of the heart while Brad was still married to Jennifer Aniston.
And Vivienne is a nice name, albeit a little old fashioned, but Knox is not particularly nice, typical American macho mid-western moniker.

Not for twins. Most twins average 4.6 lbs when they are born. These twins were 5 lbs each. That’s a very good size.
How would you like toting around 10 lbs of baby inside you?

I’m going to call them the Jolie-Pitt Family or the Jolie-Pitt’s. Using BAMZS at Shiloh’s birth was ok but when they added Pax to the family making it BAMPZS was a bit much. I really don’t want to call them Brangelina either because they are two individual people, and if they hate the name, I as a fan will not use it either.

Jared i was so excited and half asleep i forgot to thank you at 5 am this morning .I only read your site for info so thanks kindly for the wonderful news. I knew the day would come when you would tell us the hospital and People mag were backing up your statements.
I love the names and the reasons why. Knox is a strong robust powerful sounding name . Nothing babyish about Knox . Kind of like Fort Knox in Kentucky and the reasons why it was built..
Vivienne is an absolutely beautiful french name so pretty and graceful sounding. We almost knew in advance Angie would be calling their little girl after her late mother as a second name. And that she did with such dignity.
The children at home must be so excited too waiting for Mommy and Daddy to bring home their new brother and sister.
Even tho they were able to be with Mommy every day for a while it probably has been the longest time they have ever had their Mommy away from their home. They will celebrate Knox and Viviennes coming home party very soon. What an exciting day that will be.

Am I alone in hoping that they don’t sell the pics to a magazine? (I know in reality it’s probably sensible for them to do so cos 1. it gets money for charity & 2. it kind of relieves the pressure of the media wanting to see them asap & thus reduces the paparazzi stalking & they can have control over how their kids are photographed etc)
But I really want some big celebrity to have a kid & then just refuse, point blank the ridiculous amounts of money that these mags (that the rest of the time are spreading lies about said celebrity) throw about. Also these are 2 little babies, really we have no right to know what they look like or anything about them, they aren’t the celebrity (well yet anyway…maybe in a few years time they’ll take up acting or something). Note I’m not attacking the JPs for selling the pics, like Is aid it’s probably actually sensible for them to do so but I just wish one celebrity somewhere would make a point & just refuse the money on the grounds that really their kids have nothing to do with their job/celebrity status & we really shouldn’t know anything about them, especially when they’re that young. I’m hoping it’ll be like Halle Berry’s kid which we’re yet to see…keep the media hanging on for as long as humanly possible & see them sweat.

It is a great week for me as my two favorite actresses are in the news with their new babies: Sunday Rose, Knox, and Vivienne! Yeah Brad and Angie and Nicole and Keith.
Congratulations to Angie, Brad and JP kids! I love the babies names! Vivienne Marcheline & Knox Leon. What a wonderful way for them to honor Angies mom, and I have a feeling the name Knox Leon might hold a special place in the Pitt family.

I wonder how many other beautiful, precious, miracle babies were born around the world last night?
Now with six children: Maddox (6), poor little Pax (4), Zahara (3), Shiloh (2), and now infants, Knox and Vivienne - we should not have to hear another peep out of Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt for a VERY long time - that is if being good parents is their goal. These 6 children now need ALL of their time, attention, and LOVE.
