OlderBrad Pitt Cut The Umbilical Cord!
The mayor of Nice, Christian Estrosi, center, holds the birth certificates of one of Angelina Jolie’s twins, Knox Leon Jolie-Pitt, as he and Dr. Michel Sussmann, Angie’s obstetrician, left, pose for the media, at the Lenval Hospital in Nice, southern France on Sunday. Knox was born at 6:27 pm and Vivienne Marcheline came within a minute of that time.
Outside the hospital, Sussmann shared how smoothly the delivery of Knox and Vivienne went:
On Brad and Angie during the labor and delivery: “[They] were talking, they were together. It was an epidural, so [Angelina] was awake and speaking and laughing. They were happy.”
On Brad never leaving Angie’s side: “He was my assistant! [He even cut the babies' umbilical cords!] He was … perfectly calm, totally determined, very pleased to be at the birth of his children, very moved and very emotional.”
On when Angie and the babies will leave the hospital: “I don’t know. She will stay for a few days. You know, in Europe it isn’t like in the United States, where the patients go home after three days. They will stay a bit longer until everything is okay.”
On the delivery in general: “Absolutely no problems. The babies are fine. The babies are with the mother and father and they are fine.”

Vivienne is the French form of Vivian, which reflects her place of birth. Her middle name was chosen as a nod to her late grandmother, Marcheline Bertrand (Angelina’s mother who lost a battle with ovarian cancer). Knox was the middle name of Brad’s maternal grandfather (His mom was James Etta Hillhouse, her father was Hal Knox Hillhouse). Leon is the name of Angelina’s great-great grandfather

Just noticed something with Brad’s siggy - looks like the “W” was added after the “BP”. There’s quite a bit of separation between the “W” and the “BP”. People frequently do that when they’ve had to go back and include something after they’ve already signed something. He probably signed his initials like he always does and was then told that he had to include his first initial because that’s his legal name.
BTW - if this explanation shows up in one of the tabs next week, I am soooooooooo going to sue them for not giving me credit! LOL. Those twits will probably pay some handwriting expert $500 to tell them the same thing I just said. I think everyone has done this at some point in their lives - you sign, then someone says, “Is that your full name?” and you go back and try to put the letter in so that it looks like the natural flow of your handwriting…and it NEVER does…

I tend to agree with you Flippo.
But the reality is that Brad & Angie are too big a commodity to the media. I felt the same way when I heard that …I think it was People…were willing to pay upwards of $16 million for the first pics of the babies. To me that is just insane. I mean, really….
Just keep in mind that Brad & Angie will donate the majority of the money, if not all of it, to worthy causes.
And Halle Berry is nowhere near as famous or in demand as Angelina so she doesn’t really have to worry about someone trying to break into her home or hospital room trying to get the first pics of her kid.
Anyway, I hope one of the kids has Angie’s eyes, wouldn’t that be too cute if one of them had Brad’s hair and Angelina’s eyes!

jjb, My first thought was that Knox was the name of some architect Brad admired. But then it was said it was the name of his maternal grandfather, I think that’s correct. I liked that. Now you present this article and it is wonderful because it could be both relative and an artist he respect and admires.
They don’t pick names out of the air. They select names that have history and meaning. A good name is worth its weight in gold. These are not shallow people and they don’t select shallow names.
OT: We have all seen Shiloh carrying and cuddling her doll babies. We all suspect Angie was getting her ready for the birth of her brother and sister. But I must say that she will probably choke them before she drops them as she definitely has a death grip on their heads.
I hope when she holds her brother or sister she doesn’t hold them as tightly as she holds her little doll babies. I’m being funny for those who take things too seriously. :smile: Peace

Ignore Friedman. He’s done such a 360 on the J-Ps it’s not even funny. Before Cannes he was all up in their grill every chance he got. Angie charmed the socks off him at Cannes and suddenly he’s her biggest champion.
Also, notice that although he claims to have been right about fraternal twins he doesn’t mention that he said Angie told him fraternal twin GIRLS. Which is what he claimed back in May and we all said at the time - Angie was refusing to tell everyone the sexes and told some people that she and Brad didn’t know and didn’t want to know. Yet Friedman insisted Angie had told HIM…and no one else? Baloney.

And Vivienne is a nice name, albeit a little old fashioned, but Knox is not particularly nice, typical American macho mid-western moniker.

(I know in reality it’s probably sensible for them to do so cos 1. it gets money for charity & 2. it kind of relieves the pressure of the media wanting to see them asap & thus reduces the paparazzi stalking & they can have control over how their kids are photographed etc)
But I really want some big celebrity to have a kid & then just refuse, point blank the ridiculous amounts of money that these mags (that the rest of the time are spreading lies about said celebrity) throw about. Also these are 2 little babies, really we have no right to know what they look like or anything about them, they aren’t the celebrity (well yet anyway…maybe in a few years time they’ll take up acting or something). Note I’m not attacking the JPs for selling the pics, like Is aid it’s probably actually sensible for them to do so but I just wish one celebrity somewhere would make a point & just refuse the money on the grounds that really their kids have nothing to do with their job/celebrity status & we really shouldn’t know anything about them, especially when they’re that young. I’m hoping it’ll be like Halle Berry’s kid which we’re yet to see…keep the media hanging on for as long as humanly possible & see them sweat.

Seriously, those of you going on and on about what the big deal is and/or other people have babies every day…just stop it LOL. Of course, other people have babies and/or twins all the time…those people are not famous though. And better yet, those people are not followed wherever they go. To be on a celebrity GOSSIP blog and state that the attention paid to celebrities (specifically this family) is silly, is indeed futile. If you believe there is something better to be spending time on, go do it!
Fans of this family will obviously gather to share news and talk about them. If you are not a fan or can’t stomach ‘the fuss’ being made, why come to their threads? Bottom line, the MEDIA is making a production over them and have for the past 3 1/2 years. I’m sure right about the time they go to leave the hospital, the last thing they’ll want are bunches of cameras in their faces. If they were whoring out this event, BP would have made the trek to city hall amongst the cameras, showing his pearly whites as the friggin’ mayor showed his son’s birth notice. He didn’t…they are not responsible for how the media decided to ****** to the birth of their children so don’t blame them for it.

That can’t be right. If she had a c-section there is NO WAY he was allowed to cut the cords. It is highly dangerous to the mother for anyone who is not completely sanitized to be on the other side of ‘the wall’. If he did cut the cords he would not have been able to touch Angelina throughout the whole process, or even be on her side of ‘the wall’. Unless they make an unlikely (and dangerous) exception for the famous couple. Congrats either way though!

Don’t they look like a happy bunch, so chummy and relaxed. The mayor brought the birth certificate over so that Brad didn’t have to be bothered by the paps. That was nice of him. It also might have been a little self serving. But what he hay?
E keeps saying the rooms at the hospital cost $500. a day. They only cost $200. a day. I am happy the doctor held a press conference and explained that everything went well. If they can’t get the cost of a room correct imagine what they would do with Angie’s situation?
I bet they will give a donation to the hospital as it services low income people. Leave it to Brad and Angie to go to a hospital that services low income people instead of the very wealthy? You just have to luv them. Peace
