OlderBrad Pitt Cut The Umbilical Cord!
The mayor of Nice, Christian Estrosi, center, holds the birth certificates of one of Angelina Jolie’s twins, Knox Leon Jolie-Pitt, as he and Dr. Michel Sussmann, Angie’s obstetrician, left, pose for the media, at the Lenval Hospital in Nice, southern France on Sunday. Knox was born at 6:27 pm and Vivienne Marcheline came within a minute of that time.
Outside the hospital, Sussmann shared how smoothly the delivery of Knox and Vivienne went:
On Brad and Angie during the labor and delivery: “[They] were talking, they were together. It was an epidural, so [Angelina] was awake and speaking and laughing. They were happy.”
On Brad never leaving Angie’s side: “He was my assistant! [He even cut the babies' umbilical cords!] He was … perfectly calm, totally determined, very pleased to be at the birth of his children, very moved and very emotional.”
On when Angie and the babies will leave the hospital: “I don’t know. She will stay for a few days. You know, in Europe it isn’t like in the United States, where the patients go home after three days. They will stay a bit longer until everything is okay.”
On the delivery in general: “Absolutely no problems. The babies are fine. The babies are with the mother and father and they are fine.”

WOO HOO! Heard the great news this morning but just finally getting a chance to pop in and post - CONGRATULATIONS to the Jolie-Pitts and *CHEERS* to all the amazing fans celebrating around the world! :D
As a fraternal twin myself, I couldn’t be more thrilled for them! Along with all their lovely older siblings, Knox and Vivienne have a built-in best friend for life, and will always share a special bond :-)
Angelina and Brad are going to have a blast when these two get a bit older and are giggling and chatting away to each other in their own little ‘twin-speak’, before they start talking ‘properly’.
To clarify some of the questions I’ve seen above:
Yes, twins have their own umbilical cords (it’s the life line to the baby in utero - and have you ever seen a human without a belly button???)
Also, I was born 8 minutes after my brother - birth times between twins can vary by even more than that.
Sure, 5 lbs is small, but I was 4 lbs, 3 ounces, and my brother was slightly larger - we were in incubators for a few weeks and my brother was able to come home first because he was bigger.
The JP’s are in more than capable hands, guaranteed, and I’m sure that Knox and Vivienne are being well looked after by all.
How lovely it will be when the twins are ready to leave the hospital and they can all be together!! Can’t wait to see the pics!

Okay… this will, hopefully, be my last mention of Hollywood 411 and Nod Di Da Di. TV Guide Channel is rerunning the special about Knox and Vivienne’s birth and, I swear, Nod Di Da Di let it slip that the reason why Brad and Angelina aren’t the typical Hollywood couple was because, among other things, they don’t fight!! X-squeeze me… but isn’t In Touch’s sole purpose for existence is to report on the JPs’ fights?

This wonderful man loves being whooped by this woman and I believe she loves being whooped by him also. I believed this is 3 kids in less than two years. These two do not need each other, they are both rich. They want and love each other. You have to remember Brad can walk away any day and Angelina would be sad, but she will be a woman not whinning all over talk shows and magazines trying to bring him down because he is her kids father. Negative? Far from it my fellow fan, I am very happy for them. I just don’t understand why the Mayor has to advertise the birth certificate to the world. In my opinion, it is uncalled for. Period.
Ideally, people should be able to see this act by the mayor as something HE chose to do but that won’t be the case. Instead the moaners and groaners will be on the JPs case about seeking attention and whatnot.

Wasn’t that obviously sanctioned by the Jolie-Pitts though, in recognition of this excitement for them? Foreign countries are nearly as tacky as the US. You have to try and see it from their point of view. France is known for not stalking its inhabitants, along with many other European nations.

Why are some people so shocked or embarrassed or think it is over the top concerning the fuss about these births and the mayor’s legitimate boasting attempt ?
They are wordly celebritie and just like the royalties (America among others were all rejoicing at Princess Di every moves from the somplest to the most controversial, ect…), the birth of their broad (Like Lisa Marie Presley birth) are a time where people can empathy and rejoice a little bit when the news are all about inflations and war.
I rather rejoice like the mayor about a celebrity’s baby arrival in the news than seeing the US halted and excited about Paris Hilton tribulations about her arrest, then detention, then second arrest with the weeping as an extra gift granted as a breaking news and the news of the day !

Exactly. Then it was also tacky all the things they did with Princess Diana and the Beckhams, Grace Kelly, our US Presidents, and so on and so forth. These are global celebs and people rejoice almost in the same way people rejoiced when a prince or princess was born healthy with no complications. Whew! This has been such an incredible night and day, and loving every second of it. So happy for Brad and Angie and the rest of the Jolie Pitts.
As to the oft repeated question: “why is there such a big to-do about the birth of these twins?” Simple, their parents happen to be Brad and Angellina!

5 lbs is average for a twin. I am girl, 5′8″ and my mum is 5′9″. She had 5 pregancies within 5 years and 9 months time frame between the age of 20 and 26 years old.
I am the eldest and I was born with 2,62 kilograms, which is 5, 78 lbs…in due time, didn’t stayed in some incubator and was off with my mum 24 hours later.
My mother had the model type kinda body, size2 and always had little babies who were tall and leggy more than super chubby. She had very small pregnancies just like Kidman that people sometimes didn’t notice she was indeed expecting until she reached the last month or last two weeks…
Oh and having two sisters and two brothers, i am the smallest at 5′8″ with the youngest, a boy at 6′5″…though we were all born under 3 kilograms in due term.
Like I said 5 lbs is average for a twin, some woman have a single child born with that weight or a little more, children who are not born premature. It’s all genetics.

the 12th of July, ¨:27 pm, was born…(address), Knox, Léon Jolie-Pitt, according declaration “attachée” (can’t find the word in english. That means that there’s a declaration from the hospital that proves when, where, and by whom the baby was born)… “…male, from William, Bradley Pitt, born…Oklahoma…USA, 18th December 1963,actor, that declares recognize him today (that means he affirms it’s his son) and is informed of the divisibility of the parental relation determined this way (that means that they share custody of the kid, I guess), and Angelina Jolie, actress… born in LA, California, bla, bla, 4th June 1975, living in (both, domiciliés) Beverly Hills 9100 etc, etc.
This was drafted at 3:52pm, 13th of July 2008 from the declaration of the father, whom, after the reading of the paper (the paper was read loud), was invited to read it and signes with us, Christian Estrosi, mayor of Nice,etc.”
Well, sometimes I can’t find the best words, but it’s more or less this!
