Jon Voight: I’m Happy For Angelina Jolie’s Twins
Angelina Jolie’s actor father, Jon Voight, has been busy shooting the upcoming season of the hit FOX drama, 24.
But The Insider caught up with the 69-year-old actor on his film break to ask about his two new grandchildren, Knox Leon and Vivienne Marcheline.
Voight said, “I am deeply happy. I’m over the moon. It’s magnificent. In this world, all we can hope for is that mommy and the kids are healthy. I’m very excited and thanks for letting me send my love to them. If I were called today, I’d be there.”

Lucky, I’m kind of hoping she’ll forgive him and let him visit his grandchildren. Grandparents have a very special place in a child’s life. But that’s her decision. Neither of us knows what went bad between those two. He seems to have sort of made up with James, though, so maybe he will come to some kind of understanding with Angelina.

True. Unfortunately, I only had one grandmother in my life, as all my other grandparents passed before I was born. I would have liked to have had that. However, I think the only reason Angelina was more affected because she is more of a public figure than James and he publicly smeared her shamelessly. Also, women need their fathers in their own special way.
Plus, her family isn’t the typical family in the least, as then we should all be trying to call forth all the adopted children’s extended relatives in the assumption they’ll be some kind of “scarring.” I’m glad Brad’s family has been so kind and the grandparents are there on that side.
My cousins–a sister and brother–had a similar situation with my uncle and unfortunately, my guy cousin was affected to the point of now having mental problems and luckily, since his sister was I guess, quote “emotionally stronger” she fought to get the things a father should provide to his daughter/ child. She has a much better relationship with him than my guy cousin is just beginning to attain. Plus, Angelina has always said how sensitive she is.
Obviously all the haters or loons are speaking as if it’s all so simple/ have no idea how these situations are/ just want to spew their acerbic hatred as usually.

Funny I have been looking out for media reaction to this story and I must say it’s been quite restrained. There was a series of high progile people who passed within 72 hours and some time was devoted to them. They did mention the births on the NY local news and everyone was like, that’s nice. LOL. CNN had the news on their news scroll. One thing I wanted to mention. On our local CBS news affiliated, the weekend weatherperson was so giddy about the news. She did the weather right after they gave the news. before she started, she mentioned that she “knows everything about “Brangelina” and she “informed” the anchor people that Brad & Angelina thought they were having two girls so it was quite the surprise. I wanted to scream STFU! You don’t know A THING! it was the tabloids who mentioned the girls. If she knew everything about Brangelina as she thinks she knows, she would know that at the Kung Fu Panda interview in Cannes, Angelina said that they didn’t know the sexes of the baby.
That Mayor in Nice is beyond ridiculous. Just make a statement or write a statement and then disappear.

Yeah, I read that on another blog last week. No reason was listed for her departure, but I assumed that they ran out of weed and X was dispatched to hook up with her dealer. Either that or she needed a touch-up on her Botox, Collagen and Juvederm. Or possibly because her tan was fading and she needed to get back to Cali before her tan wore off. She was gone a whole week you know…
Congratulations to Brad and Angie. This world finally has a mini-Brad for the next generation to drool over.
Daddy will get a call but the press wants to use him to know everything so they need to strike a balance.
I think I can see both sides. Without trying to project I would say when one leaves children in their developing stages it’s not like one should expect any kind of close relationship. If the person is lucky one might have a friendship. I think Angie has made it clear that at least this is a possibility.
As a bridge-burner and one who’s father is nice enough but not ever a part of my life I can safely say both of us deserve what we invest, namely very little. People judging Angie for her non-hateful stand should try, as the saying goes, walk a mile in her shoes.

Angie said years ago that she’d forgiven her father. She just didn’t want or need his BS in her life. End of story. She said recently that she’s taking baby steps towards a FRIENDSHIP and has spoken with him. And frankly that’s all you need to know.
Bottom line - Angie’s relationship with her father, or lack thereof, is, was and always will be NONE OF YOUR FREAKING BUSINESS.

Thanks Jared for another thread. It is up to James and Angelina regarding their father. There seems to be some movement towards some sort of relationship. It is not our place to pass judgement on this matter, IMO.
It would be nice if Angie and her father forge a relationship. I think she has solid enough support in Brad to begin letting Jon into the kid’s lives. It’s got to be hard though, I imagine that is a sh*tload of emotional pain for a daughter to be abandoned and betrayed by her father so however long Angie takes to acknowledge Jon Voight is more than justified. Honestly, he should thank his lucky stars if he ever gets more than an acquiantance with the Jolie-Pitt kids and a friendship with his daughter.

Just a thought - their boys could become known as the X-men!!!!
I don’t know if the “umbilical cord cutting” issue has been addressed, but what the fathers are allowed to do is not really “cutting the cord”, as in disconnecting the baby from the mother. Right after the baby is born, the doctor clamps the cord right away, about 3 inches from the baby, with a surgical clamp that looks like a long pair of scissors, then he cuts the umbilical cord to free the baby from the mom and then hands the baby to the baby’s doctor or the baby’s nurse. So the baby is now completely separated from the mother, and has now a short dangling cord (~ 3″) with a surgical clamp at the end. After he/she is stabilized, another clamp, a small 2 inch plastic clamp is put on closer to the umbilicus (this is the clamp we all see when we visit the babies in the maternity wards), then the excess of the umbilical cord is cut away, this time by the nurse or the dad if he is present and willing. Some dads are scared, so they refuse. What they don’t know is the cord is already cut, they are just trimming it, but in the excitement of the delivery room, no dad ever noticed that. They all bragged afterwards to the visitors that they “cut the cord”. The medical staff don’t want to burst their bubbles, just like nobody wants to be the first to tell you that Santa Claus doesn’t exist. To make it short, there is no risk to the baby to let the dad “cut the cord”.

This could be more tabloid BS but I read Fugly has a whole range of treatments lined up that she wants to get started on ASAP: implants, lipo, more face surgery, the whole nine yards. Seems she’s scared her 34-B chest isn’t enough to keep the Urinator from running out on her. And her ass is no more immune to cellulite than anyone else’s, and she’s getting to that age. The assumption is they’ll show in the next few days as they did when Shiloh was born…if they went all the way to Africa, they’ll come to France via the private jet. It’s pretty laughable that some believe they would have gotten any form of peace here, specifically given what is happening in one of the more stringent privacy countries like France. It would be absolutely bonkers here. Brad isn’t being made to do anything…anyone who thinks so hasn’t been a fan of his from way back (the man used to travel all the time prior to getting married…he’s now with a woman who appears to enjoy that as much as he does).
And to the poster who mentioned Brad isn’t or doesn’t spend time with his family….over the course of this year alone there were pics of him and the family in Missouri at restaurants (An Italian one and Chuck E Cheese, I believe), a trip with the family to his grandmother’s birthday party/family reunion, and spottings of his parents and siblings in Texas visiting them when he was shooting Tree of Life this spring.
Short of them moving to Missouri, they couldn’t see them anymore than they have LOL.
And the reality, as any long time Brad fan knows, the past three and a half years is the most he has been chronicled visiting his family since just after he and Paltrow broke up. Most that didn’t follow him closely don’t realize he didn’t make many trips there when he was married to his ex.

I love their names. Knox is cool, and it fits in with the other kids’ names, especially the boys……….Maddox, Pax, and Knox.
Vivienne is pretty and elegant……….at first I wasn’t really sure about it, because I thought it doesn’t really mesh with all the other names, but I’ve changed my mind. I think it’s very charming, and I’m glad (but not surprised) that they chose Marcheline as the middle name.

Vivienne Marcheline sound like the complete opposite of Knox. Whereas Knox sounds ultra-masculine….Vivienne sounds verrry feminine…just like the name ‘Angelina’ and ‘Shiloh’. I also love that the boys names end in X.
…someone pointed out a couple of threads ago that they knew Angelina was going to have a boy because in the Jerry Pennacolli interview with Extra, she made a comment when talking about thinking about brining the kids to Kung Fu Panda saying “…two of my boys/sons are from that part of the world…”….so it indicated that she had/or was going to have another boy/son…..I also recognized this slip, but made nothing out of it as no one else did….but I see we were right!….
I also noticed that it looks like Brad added the W to the WBP on the birth certificate as PT mentioned…I love his simple signiture. The first and only time I had him sign something for me, it was jarring, cause I didnt know his signiture was so small & simple. After I finished ogling at him, I looked down at my Mr & Mrs. Smith CD which he’d signed and stared at it like…huh?….but I soon realized that this is his trademark signiture and was quite satisfied that I’d gotten it. Angie came along (she looked GORGEOUS in a black spagetti strap dress!) and signed right next to his signiture. She was sooo sweet cause someone behind me tried to place their paper over my MMS DVD so they could get her signiture first, but she went UNDER their paper and signed mine first instead. I just love Angie for that.

Angie did ABSOLUTELY the right thing by distancing herself from him for years while she concentrated on being a mother to her children, and now she’s handling him perfectly by keeping him at arms length, but wishing him well…

Don’t tell me you haven’t read the Jenfans’ posts on Female First, DListed, and PerezHilton’s blogs. Those are the “cruelest”, trust me. They spew lies and death wishes. But if you think lies and death wishes towards celebrities are fine, while kicking the haters arses, and throwing thruth to their face is “cruel”, then I have nothing to argue with you.
Good Grief! Fans are pitting ( no pun intended) Brad against Angelina. Do you think Angelina would appreciate that , especially if you are claiming to be a fan of hers. What’s the point? To prove who is a better humanitarian? To prove she is better than he is? She was on first, he’s on second, what’s on third? What’s the point?
You know why Brad and Angelina seem to fit? Because they both wanted the same things in life. But each of them had their own way of accomplishing them. Who cares who got there first. The point is he’s ON BASE. He might have gained access to some people because Angelina was already there, but that doesn’t diminish what he has done. He would be able to stand on his own even if Angelina was not there. That’s not to make little of her part in Brad realizing his vision, but Angelina did not MAKE Brad’s vision.Once given whatever access she provided to people, he still had to perform. He’s done that admirably.
None of us know what that access might have been. Their goals are similar in tone, but they are very different. Brad developed his own vision and Angelina hers. This elevating one about the other is pointless. I don’t know how anyone can separate them in this matter in terms of being a fan. Logically something should tell you if you say things about Brad that are uncomplimentary, misleading or out and out lies, Angelina wouldn’t like it and vice -versa. Yeah but they always still support each other’s work. Like AJ is always there to support Brad with his New Orleans stuff, an Brad with AJ’s various humanitarian trips.
Angelina and her father on speaking terms.. She is not someone who can harbour bad feelings for someone so close for a long time ( Unlike someone who hates her own mother)

Duhhh as if you have a perfect life when you were young. That is why Angelina is admire world wide becoz from her dark past she was able to evolve and grow into the best she is today. That;s why Brad dumped your idol she she never grows she’s still living in the past.. tanning, smoking, same hair for the past 20 years, forever wants to be a 20 something duhhh ***** will be 40 next year… just hope JM married her so her fans like you stop hating on the Joli-Pitts. Just hope that when JM dumped her you’re not be blaming Brad for it.

Angelina is such a *itch for keeping a ridiculous fued going with a father who so clearly loves her. Angelina, get over yourself, you home-wrecking *****! Of course, with someone who values family (a husband and wife ARE a FAMILY) so little that she’ll jump in the middle and wreck their family, of course you’d be a spiteful, hateful little girl and cut your dad out of your life! Pumping out and adopting all those kids doesn’t fool anyone into thinking that family matters to you. We see through your crap, little girl.
I know that the rift is more than just him cheating on her mom…. It also has something to do with him talking out of turn about her adopting one of her kids…
But I have heard people saying it is mainly because she can’t forgive him for cheating on her mom.
