The news is on the Yahoo homepage and I see Peeps has finally posted it, too. They’re probably already well into calculating how much they’ll need to raise the cover price to recoup part of their money. The mag is normally $3.99. I suspect this issue will be more than the 50 cent increase of the Shiloh issue. It’ll probably go up a $1 to $4.99.

Knox is a STRONG name.

Love how the boys all have “X” in their names. They are powerful names that can’t be reduced to “eee” names — you know, Bobby, Jimmy, Johnny, Billy. These are masculine, solid names they give their boys — Pax. Maddox, Knox.

Also love Vivienne. Was wondering about Genevieve, another pretty French name, but Vivienne is really pretty, and again, not reduced to an “eeee” name, just like her sisters.

Brad Pitt was at Angelina Jolie’s side as she gave birth to a son and daughter Saturday at the Fondation Lenval hospital in Nice, France, PEOPLE has confirmed.

“The babies are doing well. The operation went just perfectly,” Dr. Michael Sussmann told PEOPLE Sunday. “Angelina is in very good spirits. Brad Pitt was at her side. He was there and all was well.”

Sussmann confirmed the Nice Matin newspaper report that Jolie gave birth to a boy, Knox Leon, and a girl, Vivienne Marcheline, by Cesarean section on Saturday night. Knox weighed 5.03 lbs, and Vivienne 5 lbs.

The twins are the fifth and sixth children for Jolie, 33, and partner Brad Pitt, 44, who are already parents to Maddox, 6; Pax, 4; Zahara, 3; and Shiloh, 2.

“The mother and father are very, very happy,” Sussmann told PEOPLE.

The doctor told the Associated Press that the Cesarean was moved forward “for medical reasons” so that the babies could be born “in the best conditions.” He also said Jolie is expected to stay in the hospital for a few days.

On July 1, Jolie checked in to the Fondation Lenval hospital to await the births. The family has been living in the south of France since this spring.

Jolie recently told Entertainment Weekly that she was surprised – but not daunted – when she learned she was having twins. “It did shock us, and we jumped to six [children] quickly,” she said. “But we like a challenge.”

Reports were rife again that Angelina Jolie has finally delivered the twins, but according to French Daily Newspaper Nice-Matin, this time it’s actually true.

Probably the most famous twins in the world, before they were even born, have finally arrived at the Lenval Hospital where Angelina Jolie checked into early in July, the Nice-Matin newspaper reported Sunday quoting her gynecologist.

The babies, a boy, Knox Leon, and a girl, Vivienne Marcheline, weighted around five pounds each and were born via caesarian section little before 8:00 p.m. on Saturday. Knox arrived first and Vivienne followed shortly.

Vivienne’s middle name was reportedly chosen to honor Angelina Jolie’s French-Canadian mother, Marcheline Bertrand, who lost a battle with ovarian cancer last year. Knox was the middle of name of Brad Pitt’s maternal grandfather. In the meantime, lawyers for Jolie and Pitt were quick to snap up the Internet domain names KnoxLeon.com and VivienneMarcheline.com.

The French report, which also claimed the twin’s first photograph was sold to a US paper for $11 million that will be given to a humanitarian cause, was confirmed by Michael Sussmann.

In a statement to People magazine, Sussmann said “The babies are doing well. The operation went just perfectly. Angelina is in very good spirits. Brad Pitt was at her side. He was there and all was well.”

The new members of the Jolie-Pitt family are the fifth and sixth children joining the supercouple’s three adopted kids Maddox, 6, Pax, 4, Zahara, 3, and biological daughter Shiloh, 2.

“The mother and father are very, very happy,” Sussmann added.

Jolie has spent the last two weeks at the French Riviera maternity clinic preparing for the birth. Pitt was spotted visiting Jolie after her hospitalization became public.

Last week, Sussmann held a press conference to announce reporters everything was going well and the babies were due “in the weeks to come.”

The doctor now told the Associated Press that the cesarean pushed forward “for medical reasons” so that the babies could be born “in the best conditions.” The actress is expected to remain hospitalized for several days.

The good thing that happened on the Jolie-PItt twins birth is that it was finally confirmed by the legit/reliable press namely the AP, the local Nice-Matin?paper and People magazine with actual quotes from Angie’s doctor so that their is no misunderstanding. In Touch got the date but incorrect time and sex, X17 online clueless and ET the laughing stock for jumping the gun a few weeks ago.

So cooool!! I was deep inside rooting that it will be a boy and girl. And it is!! Thanks to that discussion about fraternal twins in an early thread when it was leak Angie was pregnant with twins. Yep, Angie got knock up by Brad twice in 24 hours! And I am only 1 day late in guessing the birthdate. I said July 11, and the babies were born on the 12th! :mrgreen: Congrats to Brad and Angie. :)

I could just imagine the joy the Jolie-Pitts are feeling now that the twins are out, plus the fact that it’s a boy & a girl, it’s double the joy!!!

It feels so good to have guessed it right & my wishes did come true for them. When it’s already certain that Angie was pregnant (before it was announced that they are twins), i was already hoping that it’s twins. And when I saw Shiloh carrying 2 dolls of both sex, i begun guessing that it’s fraternal twins. Indeed, all my wishes came true. My excitement is now just indescribable. It’s so overwhelming. I am so happy for my favorite couple. I mean, two gorgeous people produced twins and fraternal at that, it seldom happens, especially from the most popular couple in the entire world. Now, i will always refer to the new-born babies as “THE” TWINS whose parents are the most watched couple, Angelina Jolie & Brad Pitt.

In the meantime, while we are waiting for the first pics of “THE” TWINS, let’s savor the moment of joy & happiness for the Jolie-Pitts.

Leon = “Lion”

Knox Leon = Lion from the hill?
a lion symbolizes grandeur and courage.

Vivienne = “Alive” or “Lively”
Marcheline, i couldn’t find the meaning of this name.

we know the name Marcheline honors Angie’s mom. keeping her memory and spirit alive.

Well they are called fraternal because they are boy and a girl and
they MUST be fraternal!!! Small info from biology: Identical twins
are coming from one fertilization event where SINGLE egg is being fertilized by ONE sperm and then shortly afterwards developing embryo divides into two and two babies develop. So identical twins can be two boys or two girls…..
Fraternal twins are born from TWO different eggs which were at the same time being fertilized by TWO spearms…. So fraternal twins are just like any brothers and sisters, they just happen to grow at the same time in the womb. That is why they do not have to look alike, while identical twins are in principle natural clones with identical DNA makeup.

Same old story: making money from birthgiving $ 11 million dollars for baby pictures? A new career perhaps from birthgiving and so called charity donatiions? A used to be Hollywood hottest man now is a male nanny, hiding behind a woman’s skirt.
When is he able to play in a next movie? Can he ever play James Bond sequels like Pierce Brosnan at age 53 or like Harrison Ford at age 63 with the finesse and energy? Or he will be forever from now hiding behind’s a woman skirt while she gets all the attention to herself just because she plays some action movies and just because the UN’s corruption she got a title?

They have three caucasian children, 2 Asian and one African, so I think in a year or two they will adopt one more African child and call it quits at seven. Brad said in his TV interview on CNN “We’ll probably cráp out between seven and nine.”

I think they may go a bit higher than 7. I do agree that they will adopt next likey with their eldest daughter in mind.

Woot! It’s official! Angelina Jolie did, in fact, give birth to her twin babies on Saturday July 12 in Nice, France just like In Touch Weekly reported. Despite the fact that they incorrectly reported that Angelina gave birth to twin girls, they were the first media outlet to report that she had given birth on July 12. US Weekly quickly “confirmed” that In Touch was correct in reporting the birth but then not only recanted on their “confirmation” as soon as Extra TV reported the new was false but they removed their original report from their website (they’ve since put the news back on their site now that the news has been officially confirmed). The scoop and kudos belongs to In Touch alone. Early this morning in Nice, France, Angelina Jolie’s doctor gave a press conference with the official news of the twins’ birth:

The Brangelina twins are here: Angelina Jolie has given birth to a girl and a boy. The obstetrician who delivered the twins, Dr. Michel Sussmann, told The Associated Press that the actress, the babies and Jolie’s partner, actor Brad Pitt, “are doing marvelously well.” Sussmann said Jolie gave birth to a boy, Knox Leon, and a girl, Vivienne Marcheline, by Cesarian section on Saturday night. He told the AP on Sunday morning that the boy weighed 5.03 pounds and the girl 5 pounds. Pitt was there during the operation, said the doctor, who delivered the twins at the seaside Lenval hospital in Nice in southern France. “Everything is going well,” said Sussmann. “The mother, the babies, the father are doing marvelously well.” He said the Cesarian was moved forward from its originally planned date “for medical reasons” so that the babies could be born “in the best conditions.” Sussman did not give details. Le papa, l’acteur américain Brad Pitt, a assisté à l’opération: “Brad Pitt était très calme, pas du tout impressionné par la césarienne”, a affirmé le docteur Sussmann. Mais, “à l’arrivée de ses bébés, il a été très euphorique”.

Quant à Angelina Jolie, elle a eu “un sourire éblouissant”.

A peine sortis du ventre de leur mère, les jumeaux Jolie-Pitt ont réussi un beau coup médiatique. In this article the doctor says during the c-section Brad was very calm and not fazed at all by the procedure but when the babies arrived he was euphoric. So sweet! He says Angelina had a dazzling smile.

He says because she had twins she will probably stay longer than the usual five to seven days.

Angelina Jolie Registers Domain Names for Her New-born Babies

Angelina Jolie has wasted no time in protecting her new born son and daughter from cyber-squatters — she has already registered the Vivienne Marcheline and Knox Leon domain names.

The Tomb Raider actress’ lawyers, Lavely & Singer, snapped up knoxleonjoliepitt.com and viviennemarchelinejoliepitt.com just hours after the birth.

Jolie had her legal eagles do the same when daughter Shiloh was born in 2006, registering shilohnouveljoliepitt.com and its variations.

Brangelina twins are million-dollar babes

PARIS - They are the ultimate million-dollar babes. Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt’s new twins, a girl and a boy born by Caesarean section on Saturday, are barely a few hours old but already their first photos are worth a fortune.
A million dollars, two, five, 10 even 20 million? Exactly how much the first “official” snaps will be sold for is not clear. But the figures being bandied about make the eyes pop.

Nice Matin, the hometown daily in the Riviera city in the south of France where Jolie gave birth, put the twins’ worth at more than $11 million. It first broke news of the birth and reported Sunday that the couple have sold the rights for the first photo of their newly enlarged family to a U.S. publication, which it did not name, and that the proceeds would go to charity.

“I’ve never known a set of pictures to be worth this amount of money,” said Darryn Lyons, owner of Big Pictures, a celebrity photo agency in London. He estimated that the twins’ official photos will be worth between $15 million and $20 million.

The only other photos that “would possibly come that close is Britney Spears giving birth to an alien,” he said.

Veteran London-based celebrity publicist Max Clifford estimated that the first photos could fetch 10 million pounds - roughly $20 million - “which would make it the biggest baby deal ever.”

“These kind of pictures sell lots of magazines,” he said. “It’s a 10-million-pound gamble as to whether the ends justify the means. But obviously it’s a very calculated risk because whoever lands the photos will have a lot of experience with the popularity of mum and dad.”

Cue the paparazzi. They’ve been camped in Nice since shortly after Jolie’s admission to the Lenval hospital there at the end of June. For them, the Brangelina twins were the biggest story of the year. It’s been a cat-and-mouse game between photographers and the hospital, which says it put up a special material on the windows of the couple’s room that prevents telephoto lenses from peering through.

“It’s the most glamorous couple in the world. Brad and Angelina are the most beautiful people. They are very popular, that is why we are here,” one paparazzo in Nice said. The paparazzo would not be identified by name or agency.

This photographer staked out Brangelina for two months before the birth, going back to the Cannes film festival when the family was staying in the nearby St. Jean Cap Ferrat mansion of Microsoft founder Paul Allen. The photographer acknowledged that paparazzi bother people - but said it was the price of their fame, adding that most of the time Pitt and Jolie seemed to tolerate their presence.

“No anger. Only when they want to be alone they tell us, ‘Please leave us alone.’ They are very kind. They are nice,” the photographer said.

Never mind that Jolie was ensconced on the fifth floor in a section of the maternity ward that has been security-enhanced and that she was staying out of sight behind the mirrored blue windows. Paparazzi still had hopes that they would get a valuable shot of Jolie - either as an expectant or brand-new mother.

Clifford said he didn’t think that paparazzi will be able to get any candid shots of the babies and, if they do, he didn’t think they will have much impact on the value of the official photos.

“If there are sneak shots, they’re not going to be anything like the posed ones,” he said. “All it does is whet the appetite of those who want to see real quality pictures.”

Lyons of Big Pictures also did not think paparazzi will get candid shots.

“There’s always a chance in this business. It’s down to who is good at what they do,” he said. “If you were to get a paparazzi set of photos you could easily buy a little island to live on for the rest of your life.”

“Certainly, the feeding frenzy just goes to show that people talk about the celebrity-obsessed world we live in. If publishers are willing to pay up to 15 million, there are obviously plenty of people wanting to see them.”

“In the celebrity world, it seems to be the double second coming,” he added.

I’d like to put my two cents in concerning statements that Brad and Angie will probably adopt again..someone that will look like Zahara. Remember guys, it’s not a person’s skin color that Brad and Angie are looking after…Zahara and Shiloh are sisters as well as they share the same birthplace. Shiloh is an African by birth. I think this will be it for them. The next years are going to be challenging. Even Angie did not anticipate twins but they’re upto more challenge. So, who knows, right?

Those male actors are way much better than Brad either they are younger or older. Charlize Thoron and Anne Hathaway are way more talented than Jolie. Open your eyes and watch they are coming bigger in Hollywood from now on.
Aniston plays different film genres. Jolie can’t never be in any comedy sitcoms because she is not made for that. She is into action movies which totally contradicts to what she tries to portrays herself in life when petting children in Africa. She knows American people are into guns and fights so it is easier to make money from action movies and always in action movies she can be alternated and assisted by digtial effects.
As for your Blah..blah’s tyle, you can idolize whomever you want. No matter what, people can distinguish between who wants publicity and who does not in Hollywood. You can hang yourself up on those people for life it is your choice. But what is old is old and what is fake is fake.
Time to welcome the real talents with less dramas and hypocrisy in Hollywood.

Great news. Great weight. I ams ure they waited til their lungs were developed and safe to deliver. They probably won’t spend much time in an incubator for that reason at least. Maybe a day or two.

I tried to post last night when it seemed clear from Lively & Singer’s actions vis a vis the domain names that this latest news had a ring of truth to it. I loved how so many people thought that the poor person running the hospital website should get out of bed in the middle of the night and post an announcement of the birth. That’s not exactly an emergency job. I also think that another big clue was when one reporter called three of his sources at the hosptial and was told the exact same thing by each: Call back tomorrow. I’ll bet they were following instructions to the letter but maybe with an inflection in their voices to give it away without violating orders. LOL

Lovely names. Knox is a Fight Club type name. Unique and strong. I’ll bet this becomes popular with the macho crowd. The Lion King remark is hilarious though. Vivienne is sophisticated and elegant. The family connections makes them even more special. Can you imagine how pleased Brad’s parents must be that their son is with Angelina? I am sure she has been a joyful surprise for them just as she was for Brad.

I also like the fact that the names aren’t particularly reduceable to EEE names. Especially for the girl. There are too many trendy and “cute” girl names being used nowadays like every kid named Kaley or its one million variations. I recently learned they are referred to as K mart names. We truly are a nation of sheep sometimes - Jolie, on the other hand, isn’t joining in the baa chorus. Just becasue her own name is an EEE ending name doesn’t mean she likes it.

And in the year when ugly misogyny raised its ugly head again, I completely agree with you, argghgh.

Also, make sure you pull up the transcript of CNN’s ‘Reliable Sources,’ later - Howard Kurtz the moderator of that show, just announced the births on his show, and then went on to BURN Entertainment Tonight in a BIG WAY, it was sweet! He ran the whole clip of Mary Hart-less from last month announcing the births FALSELY - and one of his panelists kept saying ET would have to ‘eat crow and apologize,’ she said it, and Howard said it - like TWICE!! Hahahaha! Then Kurtz chimed in and said it probably wouldn’t happen because he said he just checked their site and they just had an announcement of the births and no mention of their false reporting and stubborn refusal to apologize.

As for less drama and hypocrsy, Johnny Depp was into drugs and dramas a very long time, especially when, River Phoenix died after boozing and drugging in HIS club. He left the dramas when he moved to France with Vanessa Paradis who was dating in real life a 28 year old french singer while she was 16 and playing at the same age a young lover in her first movie ‘Noces Blanches’ getting frontal naked several times with a french actor who was already 50+ and fat.
