Here are some more details about Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie’s fraternal twins.
Angie, 33, gave birth to a boy, Knox Leon, and a girl, Vivienne Marcheline, by Cesarean section on Saturday night at the Santa Maria clinic of the Lenval Foundation in Nice, France. Knox weighed 5.03 lbs, and Vivienne 5 lbs.
Angie’s obstetrician Dr. Michael Sussmann told People, “The babies are doing well. The operation went just perfectly. Angelina is in very good spirits. Brad Pitt was at her side. He was there and all was well. The mother and father are very, very happy.”

What a beautiful set of names for Brad and Angie’s three boys and three girls! As reported earlier, Brad and Angie’s attorneys already scooped up domain names for the twins.
And last we heard, the bidding for the Knox and Vivienne baby pics was at $15+ million.

Brad pitt should never be allowed to name kids. KNOX came from his side so I would assume knox was his idea. it’s just horrible. Leon is cool.. A poster on celeb baby blog says Leon was the name of Angelina’s great great grandfather so that obviously was her idea.
Vivienne Marcheline is lovely name.

When the moment finally came to welcome their newborn twins into the world, Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie were as calm as could be.
During the labor and delivery, the couple “were talking, they were together,” Dr. Michel Sussmann told reporters outside Fondation Lenval Hospital in Nice, France, where twins Vivienne Marcheline and Knox Leon were born on Saturday. “It was an epidural, so [Angelina] was awake and speaking and laughing. They were happy.”
Pitt never left Jolie’s side - “he was my assistant!” Sussmann said jokingly - and even cut the babies’ umbilical cords.
“He was … perfectly calm, totally determined, very pleased to be at the birth of his children, very moved and very emotional,” said Sussmann.
Asked whether the birth had been a textbook delivery, Sussmann replied, “absolutely no problems.”
When will Jolie and the babies leave the hospital? “I don’t know,” he said. “She will stay for a few days. You know, in Europe it isn’t like in the United States, where the patients go home after three days. They will stay a bit longer until everything is okay.”
He added: “The babies are fine. The babies are with the mother and father and they are fine.”

Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt’s twins may have arrived ahead of schedule, but probably not earlier than expected.
More than half of twins are born prematurely, according to the March of Dimes. While a single baby usually arrives after about 39 weeks of pregnancy, the average twins are born at 35 weeks.

And, like the Jolie-Pitt babies, about half of twins are born at low birthweights, or less than 5½ pounds. Knox Leon was born at 5.03 pounds and Vivienne Marcheline was born at 5 pounds.
Jolie, 33, was at higher risk of conceiving twins, which are more common in women over 30, according to the March of Dimes.
Jolie had checked into a French hospital last month to rest and be monitored by her doctors. Women carrying twins are at a greater risk of going into pre-term labor, according to the March of Dimes. Doctors may try to delay labor as long as possible by admitting women to the hospital for bedrest. If babies are likely to arrive before 34 weeks of pregnancy, doctors may give mothers steroids, which help to mature their babies’ lungs and prevent serious complications.
Because twin pregnancies often cause complications for women or their babies, doctors may decide to deliver twins early by Cesarean section for a number of reasons.
I so can see Brad crying of joy and hugging his children and Angie smiling to him, he is a sweet guy.

No doubt that Brad did cry and was emotional seeing his twins born. Just a few years ago he was “crying” on tv about wanting a family. And now he has 3 sons and three daughters…..all in the space of 3-4 years time. He probably was choked up to see Angelina reverse her stance on having bio kids once she saw how he was with Mad & Zahara, her adopted kids. And to see her get cut open via c-section to deliver their 3 bio kids would have me crying too!! Glad Angelina saw what made Brad happy.
