Here are some more details about Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie’s fraternal twins.
Angie, 33, gave birth to a boy, Knox Leon, and a girl, Vivienne Marcheline, by Cesarean section on Saturday night at the Santa Maria clinic of the Lenval Foundation in Nice, France. Knox weighed 5.03 lbs, and Vivienne 5 lbs.
Angie’s obstetrician Dr. Michael Sussmann told People, “The babies are doing well. The operation went just perfectly. Angelina is in very good spirits. Brad Pitt was at her side. He was there and all was well. The mother and father are very, very happy.”
Here’s a recap of all the Jolie-Pitt kids’ first and middle names, along with their ages:

What a beautiful set of names for Brad and Angie’s three boys and three girls! As reported earlier, Brad and Angie’s attorneys already scooped up domain names for the twins.
And last we heard, the bidding for the Knox and Vivienne baby pics was at $15+ million.

Knox = “From the hill”
Leon = “Lion”
Knox Leon = Lion from the hill?
a lion symbolizes grandeur and courage.
Vivienne = “Alive” or “Lively”
Marcheline, i couldn’t find the meaning of this name.
we know the name Marcheline honors Angie’s mom. keeping her memory and spirit alive.

Very good observation. Indeed, the best way to honor Angie’s mother is to “KEEP HER MEMORY AND SPIRIT ALIVE” by naming her daughter VIVIENNE (means “alive” or “lively”) MARCHELINE.

I’ve been waiting for this day since they announced she was pregnant, imagine my disappointment when I woke up this morning to here she named them Knox Leon which rhymes with Pax Thien and Vivienne which don’t fit or live up to any of there other kids names. I completely get Marcheline though.
I hope they change their minds on the boys middle name and the girl’s first *crosses fingers

Why is Jared calling these twins fraternal? Because Roger Friedman said so? Friedman also said she was having girls and that she was due in August and then back tracked and said she was due end of June. lol. No one knows if they’re identical or fraternal until they tell people.

Identical twins are always the same sex. If twins are a boy and a girl, they are always fraternal. If these twins were two girls or two boys, THEN we wouldn’t know until we were told.

Congratulations is in order for Angie & Brad. I hope everything is all right with Angie & the twins. Regarding the choice of names, i think they are NICE SOUNDING names plus the fact they are RARELY used. I like UNIQUE names & have POSITIVE EQUIVALENT MEANINGS. NOT CHEESY OR NOT “HOLLYWOODish” sound names. Angie is not known for giving names to her children that has no significant meaning/ relation to their lives. Thus, the names KNOX LEON & VIVIENNE MARCHELINE are just appropriate for them.

Thanks Neer - yes, was an editor at my HS news paper, and dabbled with the Daily Pennsylvanian while at the University of Penn. I still contribute a piece or so now and then. But really, my focus has always been Medicine- none stop all the way. I don’t recall ever taking any summer off. One of many regrets. I should have taken time to do those silly things Like ……….. wild summer nights in Palm Beach.
Anyhoo - there is one memorable comment here: boys names ending in x- band of brothers. That is so bittersweet !

Um … #135 ‘Um’… they can’t be identical, because that means the fertilized egg split sinto two, creating two identical babies - thus they would have to be the SAME sex! Since they are boy & girl, that means they are fraternal, or created from different eggs!!!!!

dammit - i’ve always loved the name Knox and wanted to use it, ever since i saw the Dead Poets Society where that cutie Josh Charles was named Knox! Now i’lll just seem like another Brangelina impersonator. Ah well, lots of other names i guess! Vivienne is really lovely too - i’ve always preferred it to just Vivian. I really like their names, and although i generally hate matchy names for siblings i kind of think the whole ending in “x” names (Maddox, Pax, Knox) for the boys is quite sweet. I also really did quite like the names that the media’s false reports made up some months ago for the supposed twin girls - Isla Marcheline and Amelie Jane. They were really pretty too. Yikes, long post!! Anyway, congrats Brangelina & Co.!!! i hope they do what they did with Shiloh and give all the money they’ll get for the twins’ first photoshoot to charity - unlike that J-Ho and her spawn
