OlderBrad Pitt: “I’m The Happiest Father Ever”
After the birth of his beautiful baby twins, Brad Pitt met with the mayor of Nice and kept repeating to him, “I’m the happiest father ever.”
Mayor Christian Estrosi, who visited Brad and Angelina Jolie in their hospital room, told the local newspaper Nice-Matin, “[Brad] told me we chose one of the best hospitals in the world, one of the best doctors, one of the best medical teams. And also the most beautiful bay in the world.”
The twins, Knox Leon and Vivienne Marcheline, were born Saturday at the Fondation Lenval hospital in Nice, France. According to Nice-Matin, the babies spent Saturday night in Angie’s room and she took care of them by herself.
Angie’s obstetrician, Dr. Michel Sussmann, updated People about Angie’s recovery and her newborns: “They are all very well, very well. Everything is okay.”

At 2 days old, Knox Leon and Vivienne Marcheline Jolie-Pitt are the newest, hottest superduo on Hollywood’s radar.
Power couple Angelina Jolie, 33, and Brad Pitt, 44, welcomed the boy and girl twins, their fifth and sixth children, Saturday night at Fondation Lenval Hospital in Nice, France.
HEALTH: Early delivery may not have been unexpected
The twins’ arrival marks the latest in the frenzy surrounding celebrity offspring and will kick off a turbocharged race for the first photographs of the children.
While celebrity baby photos are “all in demand,” the Jolie-Pitt newborns are on another level on the celebrity stratosphere, says Jess Cagle, executive editor of People magazine. “I’ve never seen an interest in any babies like this before. The thing that sets these babies apart from other celebrity births is there’s a level of curiosity about Brad and Angelina that doesn’t exist for other celebrities. These twins are really the perfect storm: beautiful, glamorous parents, a multiple birth, a media frenzy with a nine-month build-up.”
The first photos of Jolie and Pitt’s daughter Shiloh, 2, went to People for an unconfirmed sum and were published weeks after her birth in May 2006. Celebrities usually set up photo deals soon after their babies are born, often to deter paparazzi from trying to get their own exclusive glimpses.
“Maybe it does devalue the (paparazzi) photos … but I don’t think it stops photographers from violating their space,” says publicist Ken Sunshine, whose clients include Ben Affleck and Jennifer Garner.
Publications usually stay mum about claiming rights to the first baby photos and the amount of money it took to seal the deal. So far, no deal has been confirmed, but photos of the twins could bring in a record-breaking figure of many millions.
Among details that emerged Sunday:
•The names: Vivienne Marcheline is most likely named after Jolie’s mother, actress Marcheline Bertrand, who died of cancer in 2007. Knox Leon’s name is more in sync with those of his siblings: Maddox, 6, Pax, 4, Zahara, 3, and Shiloh.
•The delivery: Pitt was by Jolie’s side for the birth and cut the babies’ umbilical cords. Jolie “was awake and speaking and laughing. They were happy,” said Michel Sussmann, the obstetrician who delivered the babies by Cesarean section, a common procedure for multiples. About half of twins are born at low birth weights, less than 5½ pounds. Knox Leon was just over 5 pounds, and Vivienne Marcheline, who followed a minute later, was 5 pounds.

Here’s how it goes on this forum. A person who does not care for the Jolie-Pitt mania speaks their mind, making NO mention of Aniston. The loons who cannot deal with anyone who dares criticize their idols label that person a Jen fan. Then in their tiny little minds, the loons now have an excuse to bash Jennifer Aniston and to make the claim ‘her fans have not moved on.’
Reality #1…a lot of people who don’t give a rat’s ass about Jennifer Aniston, just do not like the Jolie-Pitts. Reality #2 ….it’s loons who can’t let the Aniston thing go.
So I say….take your meds loons. It will help you deal.

Callers calling in giving their ideas of strange names. Guy calls up gist :I dont understand how celebs can give their kids these weird names such as Scout *Rumor ect., Dr.Joy says GP named her kids Apple*/Moses* then Angelina gave birth this weekend *what were the names she & Brad gave twins?.,caller Im not surre*Dr. I have it right here*yeah its Knox Leon*like FortKnox& Vivienne Marcheline*then a lil ‘groaning from both*mostly her.

Right now is a glorious time to be a JP fan, isn’t it?
To all those who said that Brad’s looks are gone, I’m pretty sure to Angelina, he’s still the best looking guy in the planet. And to me, I prefer to look at him now with the matured visage, gray hair and beard and all, rather than the pretty boy he was before.
I find it hilarious that people will come on a thread to bash Jared for what he decides to post on “his” blog. It is his blog so let him post what he wants and find interesting. If you find it interesting too - great. If not, he clearly lists a title so you could figure out what it is about before you click.
I completely respect freedom of speech and that we are all free to comment as we wish but why waste time of your life on something that does appeal to you.

Nannies the more the better. I read that James was at Maravel with the kids and 4 nannies and that Brad’s mom and dad were due in yesterday or today. I think having nannies is a smart idea if you can afford it. Raising young children is draining and every parent needs a break. If the parents get time off it makes them better able to parent. And for those who choose to misread or don’t read well I am not saying that you have to have a nanny to be a good parent. Every parent needs a break now and then.
Angelina is busy breast feeding the babies and papa Brad looking on.

Just wanted to say Jaye #107 - ITA with your post. Well said.
We shut down our office this a.m. And I’m watching nature be pretty ferocious - Bertha - while my child sleeps contentedly beside me. It’s been downgraded to a tropical storm but it sure looks like a hurricane to me.
Brad is a good father, a devoted partner and a good person. It is heartwarming to hear how excited and happy he is. This is a real love story unfolding folks and I’m loving it all.
Brad’s looks are gone??? I’m thinking it’s your eyesight that’s gone, not his looks. He was a pretty boy when he was younger, but I think he’s so much more ruggedly handsome, make that gorgeous, now. Extra wrinkles, gray hairs and all. They just add character to his face, the same gorgeous face he’s always had.
