Ellen Page Whips It Good
Ellen Page walks into the production office for her new movie, Whip It!, in Saline, Michigan on Wednesday.
Also spotted on set was Drew Barrymore, who’s directing and starring in the comedy. It’s her directorial debut!
Whip It! was written by Shauna Cross, based on her novel “Derby Girl”.
In the film, Ellen, 21, plays misfit girl Bliss, who is constantly being pressured to enter beauty pageants by her mother (Marcia Gay Harden). Bliis then joins a roller derby league, stumbles over reality and eventually finds herself along the way.

I totaly agree with you Alison. She’s very pretty. And, unlike 98% of Hollywood she still looks like herself when she’s not wearing make-up. Plus, I love, love that she’s Canadian.

Can this girl portray any other type of character? No She’s ALWAYS the misfit, the smart mouth teenager, the outcast. Here’s news for Hollywood, she wasn’t worthy of an Oscar nod this year and unless she can learn a little diversity in roles…she won’t be worthy of another. When I see that, then I’ll pile on the accolades. She’s great at playing the “smart mouth teen” because…well she is a smart mouth teen. NO STRETCH and definitely not awe inspiring. It’s like Eddie Murphy being cast as an inner city black man….oooohhhh that’s an award winning role.
