The High School Musical sweethearts escaped to the island paradise on July 6, and stayed at the exclusive, secluded Amanyara Resort on Malcolm’s Road Beach.
“They looked like a happy young couple,” says a witness who saw the pair “laughing all the time” and frolicking on the hotel’s beach during their week-long stay.
Although Zac, 20, and Vanessa, 19, went away together to be alone, they were friendly to the other tourists who recognized them, including a bunch of young HSM fans.
“They were nice to all of the kids who approached them,” a fellow vacationer reveals. “They were a very gracious couple.”

well, atleast they had a good break from the daily life and a mini break from the paps. They seemed like they enjoyed each others company, adn they weren’t shy to their fans. I’m just glad they got to be themselves. Good job!

So glad to hear more positive comments concerning Zac and Vanessa and how they interacted with the other tourists and fans. I was wondering how long it would take for people to start calling Vanessa names.
What’s the big deal they are a couple who were on a private vacation it’s not like they were actually doing anything x-rated they were showing affection towards one another, but again Vanessa is the one being called names all becuase of the way she is sitting on Zac, how about if it had been the other way round would Zac be the one who is being insulted I don’t think so.
They are so not a Hollywood couple that is becuase of the profession they have choosen and happened to star is something that became a huge hit that no-one expected it to be but to me that’s where the hollywood part stops, they just try to go about their day like anyone else this vacation being a good example, they took a private jet to get to a private resort so that they could spend some alone time together after working hard and why should’nt they. If they were so much a typical hollywood couple who were only together for ‘publicity’ then the pap’s would have found them long before they did becuase that’s what Zac and Vanessa would have wanted but no it was’nt, they might be in the profession that they know as Vanessa and Zac have said the pap’s come with the job but this was just a couple going on a holiday together and having fun no hidden agenda.
And I would just like to say to those people who have called Vanesa the H word that by saying that there saying that every girl who sits on her boyfriend like that is also one and that’s very insulting,as my daughter has sat on her boyfriend like that and I can tell you that she is certainly not a H as her boyfriend has also sat like it on her it’s just something that couple’s do, it does’nt make either one a rude person or make the act dirty it’s just a coiuple showing affection and talking.
Whatever else they choose to do they do behind closed door’s and as I have said before it’s their business Zac will be 21 this year and Vanessa 20 for heaven’s sake they’re legally adults so it’s up to them. They should be allowed to go on vacation and show what ever degree of affection towards one another that they feel like doing in public and obvioulsy when they’re out of L.A. some of the pressure is off them and and they’re not be followed 24/7 so they feel more at ease to be more open with one another, so why should they be judged and have nasty uncalled for comments made about them about something that was nobody’s buisnes but there’s.
If they don’t smile much now they’re back in L.A. it’s understandable after being away from the hassle and constant followering for over a week I would’nt feel like beaming for the press everytime I went out my front door weather it come’s with the job or not.

Residents in Nice protested this evening outside Lenval Hospital, speaking out against what they say is the mayor’s undue attention to a celebrity birth over the murder of a local youth which, they say, received little attention from officials in the southern French city.

Could this be a wake-up call for Brangelina? Fran, were you also one of the people who criticized him on their last vacation for only wearing one swim suit? They were there for over a week. They can’t win with small minded people looking for fault. Just maybe they have been planning a vacation for months and packed accordingly. too easy.
They take a private plane, go to a small exclusive resort and they get accruised of making a photo op for Disney. Believe me, if that what they wanted we would have had pictures every day along with an update. Someone made money on these picture, probally someone who was also on vacation who took advantage of the opportunity

This is why I really hoped they were not spotted. Something beautiful, precious to them and private has now being exposed for rascals and nincompoops to analyse and dirty with their gutterlike minds that can not comprehend anything except it’s twisted and perverted.

Here is my definition of a Hollywood couple:
A couple who hangs out a hot spots such as The Ivy, the Roosevelt Hotel, the Dresden Room, the Spider Club, and Mondrian Hotel to name a few. You know, the places Britney Spears and Lindsey Lohan frequent.
Have we ever seen ONE paparazzi picture of Zac and Vanessa coming or going from any of these HOT spots? NO.
Were do we always see this “attention-seeking” couple? OMG, shopping at Urban Outfitters, getting smoothies at Robeks, filling their cars with gas, sneaking off on a private plane to a private resort to be alone. Wow!! That is the epitome of trying to get attention.
Zac and Vanessa march to a different drummer. They try to live in the real world.

i have to say that the picture of Vanessa sitting on Zac is the first time that they have ever been caught on film be anything but young ‘innocent” love. I will bet you that that was at the start of the vacation when they thought they were totally off the radar screen and could be a little more in the open with their attraction to each other.
I have a little trouble fathoming that teenagers today are so sexual at pool parties and such as other moms have stated but then i could be niave… (My high schoolers tend to avoid the big parties. ) But I suspect that college is a completely different scene (it certainly was way back when I was in college). Remember that Vanessa would be a college freshman or sophomore and Zac a sophomore or junior in college!
The most admirable trait about these two that can be stressed with your teenagers or other “impressionable” youth (if you are really concerned) is that they are committed to each other while dating and not promiscious! Furthermore, they get out and enjoy sports (kayaking, scuba…) . You don’t see them in bars or drinking on the beach until they can’t stand up.
People are so harsh on these two. They did their best to keep their relationship low key when they were young.er Now they are just trying to be together. I am really glad that they don’t talk about their relationship. I don’t want it to end up like Drew Barrymore who was on Oprah talking about her great relationship and the next thing you hear, they are over.
One last point - these pictures could have been from Hawaii from over a year ago. The connection and chemistry is still crackling. That alone shows how lucky they are to be together for these years. They do seem to have something special. But then, love sure can be fickle. Good luck to these two!

Yea, Susan, I don’t get why people can’t seem to comprehend, remember, accept (or whatever) that it’s been THREE YEARS.
They met at the auditions for HSM1, and that movie filmed mid-June 05 to mid-August 05. Even though they didn’t “admit” the fact that they were dating until much later, Kenny Ortega let the cat out of the bag. And even Popstar magazine did an article on them and said they’ve “been together” since HSM1.
Fact is, I think a lot of people, for some reason, don’t want them to have been together that long.

They finally found them, Ilove it , it took them long enough and the idiots can get the dating time right. They been dating for like almost 3 years, he was 17 and she was 16. All anyone has to she is the first tour they went on for HSM, because couldn’t keep from putting his arm around Vanessa. Also if anyone read the Zanessa magazine from popstar it also states it. They just kept it more quite until the article in People magazine during the shooting of HSM2. Heck they started wearing their Kuppi rings after Vanessa turned 18, she had it on tour during HSM, before that she was wearing Zac’s black ring. The Say OK video was the coming out of their relationship. In touch doesn’t know all that they think they do.

I would say that it is entirel up to LL whose lap she wants to sit on it’s her business and nobody else’s. the point I was making was that whatever Zac and Vanesa chose to do on their vacation and whatever positions they want to get themselves into is their buisness and that it does’nt mean that people have to call either Zac or Vanessa names.

You don’t have one inkling what I believe. However, I am not stupid and I understand how young people are and what hormones do to a person and I’m old enough to have experience passion in my life so what these two have done is met, got to know each other, fell in love with each other, not gone to this sex partner and then that one, didn’t jump into something the minute after they met each other, made responsible decisions SO with the likes of Spears, Lohan, and Hilton, I’d say I would want a young person to be watching Zac and Vanessa rather than those other persons I mentioned. Not once did I promote sex at ANY AGE—I didn’t promote sex. BUT this thing of “it would not be acceptable in my household” doesn’t mean it won’t happen when hormones hit, peer pressure becomes to much, or any number of things in this lifetime. Take the blinders off and see what life if really like for the young people of this day and age. Sometimes if kids know these things are not “acceptable” to their parents, they may not do these things but many times other things like I mentioned override what parents’ beliefs are. SO, yes, I would want one of mine who might make a choice that wouldn’t be right in my eyes to at least make a RESPONSIBLE choice.
Lastly, I didn’t say all those things in my post because I thought Zac and Vanessa cared what I thought. Will everyone stop asuming Zac and Vanessa are in a fake relationship and are in it for the publicity?! Do you really think they would pretend to go out for three years? There are so many things peole don’t think about when they assume their relationship is fake. Don’t you think we would have heard about their relationship before the first movie came out and have them flaunt eachother in public places where they will be sure to be seen? It took two years to show they were official. They had people guessing and refused that they were anything more than best friends.

Agree with 100% anybody would think that Zac has’n got a mind of his own which is basicaly what these people are saying and Vanessa always gets the nasty comments whenever she shows affection to Zac first like she is forcing him to be with her, forching him to hold her hand when if they lookwd at the videos like from his birthday bit was Zac who reached for her hand first and he has done this on more than one ocassion, but no Vanessa has some sort of mind control over him and make’s him do excatly what she tells him please credit Zac with the sense he was born with and know his own mind and as I have said before he know’s what and who make’s him happy and sorry to his fans that don’t approve of his relactionship with Vanessa but she is that someone.

I have been called a lot of things here and I’m sure I will be called a lot more names before it’s all over but the other day I was called a “cheerleader” in a snide way. Well, I couldn’t care less if I’m known as a cheerleader. So, this cheerleader is now going to try to stir up the fans of Zac and Vanessa to speak out when you have a chance with all the websites and magazines who are now capitalizing on these pictures just to make a buck or be noticed. I received some things through my yahoo alerts today where they are trying to stir up a stink over the second picture listed here. These sites just want to get some controversy going just like when they printed that Zac didn’t shower! This is sick and it is stupid. People need o say these two are not responsible for raising other people’s children. They are not doing anything—even nearly as much—as college age kids do. And they ARE of the age where they can make their own decisions. They are a far cry from being 14 or 15.
Those sites who are making it sound like the little kids of the world are going to be corrupted by this photo should be taken to task for such irresponsible “reporting”. Those young people who will notice the InTouch magazine most likey will be at least 14 and at that age will have an inkling of what it is all about and won’t be “shocked” to where they will need counseling. What do you think these kids hear in school? And by that age they had better to have heard something about the facts of life from their parents. A child of 9 or 10 won’t really be noticing that magazine and they will not be thinking anything sexual as I have said before UNLESS someone around them is making a big deal that it is so WRONG. Then that poor child won’t really understand why it is—you people will send the wrong message and you will be responsible for “warping” those kids’ thinking not Zac and Vanessa.

As you say Zac and Vanessa are not responable for the moral welafare of other people’s children that’s the parent’s job to teach them right from wrong as it is also the job of the parent to explain to children how the birds and bees work and how a responable couple enter into a relactionship and what that entales and the different levels of love and what it could involve.
Yes they have done Disney films but that does’nt mean that they should’nt be allowed to have a relactionship which obvioulsy is going to grow as they grow into adults and if it is explained proberly then all kids will see is a couplein a loving relctionship just being normal the only way it will come across as anything slezy in what Vanessa is doing in the 2nd picture is through the various rags that no doubt have had a field day with it with all sorts of inuendoes and who are willing to try and give her a hard time and make her feel bad for doing a perfectly normal act between a boyfriend/girlfriend moment.
Look at all the antics that BSpear’shas got up to and she was a disney kid but she still get’s the support, LLohan not a disney kid but again look at what she has done but yet again she gts the support from her fans and the press.
Yet Vanessa and Zac go away to a private place to be together so that they can show affection to one another which they know they could’nt do in L.A. and suddenly they are a bad influence on kids and should’nt be promoting that kind of beheaviour, the thing s they was’nt promoting anything seeings that they were on holiday they were justbeing themselves and Vanessa has received a load of flack for it, and as much as I like Zac I don’t see him being slagged off so much and being called name’s it’s all Vanessa yet again because she is the one showing him affection which as I have said does’nt seem to be bothering Zac he look’s quite happy to giving Vanessa just as much affection she is giving him.

Never once did I say I knew everything BUT there are some things I DO know which some people don’t seem to know or even give a bother to try to think about. Maybe some of the things I say that make you mad are ideas that you have never given a thought to and it makes you uncomfortable to do so. Maybe those are the things you need to take heed to. I have had to learn many things in my life that made me angry or uncomfortable but once I learned the lesson I was no longer at the mercy of stupid people who told lies or started rumors to get trouble started. I dont see what the big deal with these pictures are. They are 19 and 20, which is an ADULT the last time I checked? These pictures arent even anything unusual of couples that go on vacation together. Just because they’re celebrities they arent allowed to have some fun? It’s not like they’re having sex on the beach! And if that one picture of her on his laps makes people think that, then you live a sad life.

She handled the situation very maturely and apologized. I think that the whole infamous “photo scandal” made her stronger and it took a great deal of character to get through it.
When will this endless bashing of V be over? I think that everyone is critisizing her because of what she has. It all comes down to jealousy.
And what is with this whole “zac efron’s gay!” thing because he has more than a few pair of shorts? Isn’t it kinda clear from his pictures with vanessa that he most certainly is straight?
