Mischa Barton (in Hugo Boss) struts on stage for the spring/summer 2009 ready-to-wear fashion show of HUGO on Thursday at the Westhafen industrial area in Berlin, Germany.
The former O.C. star takes the cover of the August edition of Nylon magazine, and speaks of her embarrassment following her arrest for driving drunk in December.
“That was a low point for me. I never, ever would have thought I would be arrested,” Mischa said.
‘I was disappointed because it associated me with a group of girls that I would rather not be associated with. That was the biggest bummer for me – I didn’t leave my house. I was too embarrassed.
In the interview Mischa also confirmed rumors she had turned down a role in Gossip Girl.

Sure Mischa, you’re better than these “group of girls”. To be honest, I can’t recall a single incident of her winding up in hospital for mixing alcohol with her (cough) meds, or being photographed smoking weed while driving, or looking smashed in public.
Unlike Lindsay she’s a total pro. Mischa never bails out on her movie’s publicity. Unlike Paris, she never gets photographed leaving bars flashing her bits. Unlike those two, she never poses half naked for magazine covers.
Drunk Driving is Drunk Driving. She put herself in that group of girls all by herself.
She was driving drunk, possibly high and without a license, which i bet she’d been doing for a long time. But she never ever thought she’d get arrested for that behavior??

I get her point about being associated with a group of girls because she got a dui (and people are proving her point by saying, “But you are one of those girls!”). It has nothing to do with an ego; that “image” that people want to tag on her does her no favors. And a dui doesn’t make her like those girls, especially when duis happen every single day to everyday people. It shows how Hollywood treats these young starlets, and exposes a huge double standard. No one is associating Kiefer S. with some “out of control party celeb” after his multiple duis and jail time.

She’s made 8 films, the most recent with Bruce Willis, to be released Sept. 12. Also charity work around the globe. She does more than “just pose for photos”.
