Shannen Doherty Returns to 90210 — CONFIRMED!
Shannen Doherty will reprise her role as Brenda Walsh in the upcoming CW spinoff of Beverly Hills 90210.
“Shannen Doherty will be returning to 90210,” executive producer Gabe Sachs said during the Television Critics Association press tour in Beverly Hills on Saturday.
Brenda is expected to playthe director of West Beverly High’s musical.
Back it May, it was announced that Jennie Garth will be reprising her role as Kelly Taylor but will play a guidance counselor at her alma mater, West Beverly High.
How fantastic is this!?

She’s literally a xyz-lister so any job is a blessing. Anyone remember that ridiculous show about scaring people she had. She seems bland on tv.

I’ve always been firmly on Team Breda so this is exciting :-D Also I think Shannen is a good actress even if she might be a troublemaker. It’ll be interesting to see her on screen again.

The producers needs to give the new cast a chance to gain a fanbase for the show before bringing in the orginals. Tori, Shannon and Jennie are likely going to overshadow them.

shannen doherty IS the means to double the shows audiency by adding back the interest in original 90210 viewers
the show was from beginning the story of brenda and brandon, after shannen got mobbed out of the show the rest storyline was just an attempt to fill the gap - as without the twin brenda, there was realy not much of interesting twists and possible turn arounds
what the producers hopefully are very aware off is -
they have got the realy seldom great chance
- to revive the best teen soap opera of the 1990s by making it a grown up show for the grown up millions of fans worldwide with its grown up original cast (the fans of original series would get the natural follow up they could again relate to - thus for them the adult90210
AND at the same time in parallel but intertwinned storyline incorporate new 90210 generation of teen/twen characters with their own 2008 teen way of thinking life and troubles, thus for the nowadays teen/twen population their own new teenie soap
that could yield two great in character development different shows in one high quality show with the potential to grab/build attention and fanbase of two generations of viewers
but this would also pressuppose a realy high quality scripts with high quality “believable” intertwinned BUT at the same time also independent storylines for the original now adult characters and the new generation of teen characters
i hope they will realy give it enough attention to make it happen (that way for us original fans the storylines of the kids would be just a colourfull addition to the lifes of Brenda, Brandon and their former clique and vise versa for the kid viewers the infos about the parents and teachers and other adults would just ad up to the “believableness” of the teens life in show
Yey yey yey!!! Shannen is back!!! Now I will be watching the new show. Never liked Jennie Garth, too bland (even was she was on Dancing with the Stars!) I liked Shannen, bit*chy ways and all, because she wasn’t cut out from the same cookie mold as the others. Hated it when Alyssa Milano had her kicked out of Charmed. Glad to see that she’s back on television and I will get my Shannen fix.
I’m glad Shannen is back.It’s the media who keeps bringing up the feud. Grow up, people.People change and Shannen is one of them.
I may be way off here but I heard Shannen Doherty died in July 2004 from ALS. Is this not true????
