As the Mother of an Autistic child, I agree that Suri has many of the characteristics of a child with Autism. She doesn’t smile, look engaged…etc.

If Suri is indeed Autistic and The Cruise’s are not seeking treatment due to their religion, they should be shot at dawn.

Also, the above poster is correct. Suri needs to be off the bottle before irreparable damage is done to her teeth and mouth. She should be potty training as well. For those that say we should mind our business, learn to deal with the fact that real Mothers speak to the pediatric dentists and make informed decisions for their child’s benefit. Katie is obviously not an informed parent or simply does not have the skill or the dedication necessary to parent responsibly.

Pooky, you’re a idiot. For all you know, I am a Doctor. Obviously, I know quite a bit more about Autism than you would since I live with it on a daily basis. That baby hasn’t smiled or thrown kisses in quite awhile. If you even the slightest knowledge about Autism, you’d know that onset is often quick and around the age Suri is now. Prior to onset, children often appear normal. Before you open your large, uninformed, ignorant mouth, I suggest you learn something. Suri may not be Autistic, but you have no way of knowing my dear, so get a life of your own and stop living through Katie and her baby.

American, when it comes to the health of your child, all offenses are MAJOR. If you can’t be a good parent, and Katie is obviously not a capable parent or she would know the medical facts on weening a child from the bottle, toilet training, etc., you might as well cash it in since you have no value as a person.

Katie is a robot who joined a cult to please a guy she had a crush on in high school. Not exactly the mark of an intelligent, capable parent in my book.

I’m also the parent of an autistic child and I agree that Suri may be Autistic. Theres an obvious disconnection there and I see typical stimming behavior in her as well. I no longer see the happy, spunky little girl from a few months ago. If she is Autistic, that would explain their difficulty getting the baby off the bottle. Its very difficult to ween an Autistic child. Toilet training is no walk in the park either.

For all the arrogant twits (or one twit who keeps posting over and over) that claims it’s tom and katie who should decide when to take the baby off the bottle, nobody said otherwise……except the American Dental Association and every pediatrician in the known world!

You guys ought to get INFORMED instead of barking on a gossip site about common knowledge. Children need to be off the bottle by the age of 12 mos. 18 mos at the latest. Leaving them on the bottle causes damage to their teeth and eventually a problem with their bite. Not only is suri on a bottle, she is using a popular infant nurser that is even harder to suck on and will damage her smile even further. Holmes and Cruise are either morons or incapable of parenting their child effectively.

You clowns going on about this obviously have never had children and are as IGNORANT as Katie and Tom. Get a freakin grip, pull your heads out of your behinds and stop yammering on.

Also, something is definitely up with that baby. I have a feeling she’s autistic or has some sort of developmental disablility. Since Cruise and Holmes also belong to a cult that doesn’t believe in treatment for either of those issues, that poor, darling little girl will never get proper treatment.

I think she is overwhelmingly spoiled and has the syndroms of the spoiled unique brat. The one that parents tend to infantilized the longest possible like she was stuck in a phase of an infant eventhough she is already a toddler.

It’s time for her to have a sibling so that her parents realize that she is not a baby anymore and that they should accompany, assist with determination her development and maturity.

It’s kind of a discipline that parents should have and instill to their child since day one.

Most kids potty train between two and three. She still has time. And as some potty-training expert once said–(paraphrase) ‘it may take awhile, but have you ever seen a college student in diapers?’ It is far worse to force a child to potty train than to work at it gently. When you start to force the issue, it becomes a control issue. Which is not good for parents or child.

She should be off the bottle, but I believe I read somewhere that the Scientologists believe that it is a child’s choice to decide these things for themselves. So we’ll probably see her with a bottle in college.

Give the child a break. She is not yet 3 and followed by cameras and paps. I don’t see Shiloh constantly engaging or Violet Affleck, or Kingston or any other of the two-three years olds that are out and about with the current pap favorites. Brad Pitt has said several times that his kids are bombarded with flash cameras, paps, and crowds when they go out. Is it any wonder the truly A-lister stars’ babies have the ‘deer-in-the-headlight’ look when they are out?
If by some odd chance Suri is autistic, then yes, the Scientology church won’t recognize it and will try and treat it with herbs, vitamins, special mixtures made by the church and exercise. Isn’t Travolta’s son suppose to be autistic or something? As far as we all know, he has not consulted a doctor or if he has not said a word about a diagnosis. Just follows the church preachings.

Suri has been in HUNDRED’s of photos since she was born, only ONE shows her smiling and that was in Germany over a year ago. So don’t tell anyone here that they’re wrong unless you can show otherwise. One of out hundreds is concrete evidence that there is something seriously wrong with her.

Your former pediatrician is an idiot. You could have saved yourself a lot of money taking your child to all those neurologists. If my child responded to other people but wouldn’t engage the doctor and threw a shoe at him, I’d think he simply didn’t like that doctor and I’d find another one. Simple common sense.

Let me add here that many small children go through a phase where they are scared to death of doctors because they think they are going to get another shot. When my son was a year old, he used to start crying halfway down the block from the doctor’s office. He recognized the building the office was in and he was like “lemme outa here”. When I told my mom about it, she laughed and said I did the same thing when I was his age. Kids go through this a lot but they get over it.

the child is almost 3 years old and still using a bottle and a diaper-what gives? ok the child could be in the process of being potty trained and the diaper could be one of those pull up things you see on tv. i’ll give them that. but the bottle??i hope that thing is full of water and not some sugary stuff. what’s wrong with a cute little sippy cup in what ever color/design the little one llikes.

as for the child being autistic; that i don’t know. i’m not a doctor and no responsible doctor that i know of would make a diagnosis like that just by looking at pictures. but look at what’s going on. everywhere this child goes the press follows.

she has had cameras and flashbulbs in her face since the beginning. i think what we see in the pictures is fear. she’s afraid of all these strangers. what i want to know is why katie and tom just dont say ENOUGH. no more!! take their child away and hide her for awhile. give the little one a break. let her be anormal little girl for once and not an appendage to two famous parents.

i work as a social worker of the dept of child and family services in new york. having said that; i have to tell you that you are way off the mark here. i agree that this child should not be using either a bottle or a soother as her age. her parents should know that. it indicates bad judgment on this issue; hopefully someone close to them will be able to convince these people of it. however; it does not mean Holmes and Cruise are incapable of parenting their child effectively.

i also have to tell you that being members of a cult, or followers of a religious group not universally approved of, doesnot automatically negate the rights of holmes and cruise to parent their child in the manner they see fit. i can point to courts cases all across the united states where judges have ruled in favor of parents who are involved in what we in the mainstream refer to as cults. being a memeber of a cult (scientologist in this case), in itself, does not automatically make you a bad parent. if that were true we would then have to remove every child from every mormon household in america. afterall, for many people; the church of latter day saints is also a cult.

as for complaining to the department of child and family services about these two parents; please!!!. you spend ten years doing my job; ten years of dealing with cases that come across not only my desk but the desks of my co-workers. i promise you at the end of it all you will have a new definition of bad parenting and children truely in need of protection.

I am an adminstrator in an agency in contract with ACS. I fully agree with you that Cruise and Holmes cannot by any stretch of the imagination be called abusive or neglectful or even “bad” parents. They are very protective of Suri — my concern is that they are possibly overprotective. Being overprotective is not “bad” parenting but it neither does it help a child to grow and mature. But many parents who make the mistake of “overparenting” their first child, learn to let go a bit with the second child.

Why do we never ever see Suri with her siblings (yes Tom has two other adopted kids Connor and Isabella) why don’t they ever hang around with Suri and why do they not live with Tom and Kaite and Suri in their big ole 35 million dollar house. I find it pathetic that Tom spends so much time with Suri but not enough time with his other kids. I do not know if Suri is autistic or not but I have never seen a child seem so emotionless in my life (a good sign that something is going on with that child what it is nobody really knows.

For those that are saying she should be potty trained already - do you have children? She turned 2 in April, so she is 2 yrs 3 mths old. Most kids potty train around THREE years old. Between 2 and 3 is totally normally. My daughter was born in January of the same year as Suri so she is 2 yrs 6 mths old and she is not potty trained yet. Again - totally normal! And she is my third child so I think I know what I’m talking about. As for the bottle that is their business. My son was on a bottle until 3 and he is now a totally normal 7.5 year old so get over it!
