OlderMiley Cyrus: Paparazzi Are “Not So Cool Anymore”
Teen sensation Miley Cyrus recently spoke with Extra! about her current life as a teenager and her new CD, Breakout. Here’s what she had to say:
On shedding the good girl image: “I wanted to embrace my older audience a little more…kind of taking shackles off and doing the music I wanted to do. They are the things I want to say to the world. I just want this to be a CD that you can let loose to and dance to and kind of forget all the crazy stuff!”
On how she deals with the constant media attention: “There’s going to be that no matter what…I am obviously under the public eye a lot…Instead of putting negativity to it, taking the opportunity to make it a positive thing. It gives me an opportunity to voice those decisions, those things I go through a little more publicly, and hopefully they help people out in their lives.”
On paparazzi chronicling her every move: “Yeah, 24/7. It’s weird. At first I kind of always wanted it…then once it started happening to me it’s not so cool anymore.”
On her family being protective of her: “My big brother [Trace] especially…I love him so much. He’s always been very different, me and him both, and so we’ve both kind of gotten scrutinized for that and he kind of understands and he wants to help me through it.”
On critics calling Selena Gomez and Demi Lovato the next “Mileys”: “People are looking up to what I do. But, I don’t think there could be a next Miley. I think they should be the next Selena, Demi…make their own way.”

Although I like all the Disney girls, and each are talented in thier own right, I think Demi and Selena should be taking tips from Miley on how to become a successful popstar/actress.
The empire Miley has built is not easy to follow by any means.

I am not a Miley fan. I am a Vanessa fan but I think this is a very honest interview and actually intimates that she’s growing up. I don’t think anyone should write her off yet. Sometimes, you have to get smaller to get better. If she learns from her mistakes and starts being true to herself, she would still be a force to reckon with.
Anyday, I’ll take celebs who have weathered tough times and become better and stronger through them than all the goody two shoes in all their untested glory.
I hope she drops all the public purity ring statements, keeps her chastity between her and God and be real. She would be better for it.
I agree with her though, there can only be one Miley. Other disney stars should carve their own paths and stop walking in her shadow.

Selena and Demi can’t be the next Miley, she’s right. They have to make a name for themselves, not jack someone else’s.
And when she said she wants an older audience, she means one her own age and maybe a few years older, instead of the usual pre-teens. I cannot WAIT for her new cd to come out :)
i think miley is a great role model if people could look past a magazine cover image i think that she had to work really hard to get where she is and she is not an attention wh*re or anything like that i can bet there a 15 year olds out there that can do stuff ten times worse and some do it just so happens to be that miley is really popular and for everyone person that likes her there is gonna be somebody who doesnt but i think miley is plenty mature enough to handle all those issues and i hope you people are mature enough to look past her mistakes

i think Demi lavato is really talented and has a great career ahead of her in both singing and acting
i think selena gomez is ok i just think that she should stick to acting thats all but she too is very talented (in acting)

I’d like to say I feel sorry for her but I don’t. Her next step is to hit the drugs & rehab………I saw her on GMA and her outfit short, short, short shorts, black boots & a plaid shirt were so…..******. Even though you could tell she wanted to rip that shirt of or show some cleavage she knew she’d better not. I can’t believe all of the people with their tiny kids there!!! We all know most of those dads there with their little girls were’t there for their kids they were there to oggle Miley!!!

i’m 17 and im a huge fan. Her fans arent only 10 years old. She has older fans also. I think she did great in that interview.

I’m 29 and my daughter loves her so I’ve been exposed to her quite a bit. I think she is quite talented and listen to her CD in the car even when my daughter isn’t with me!

she has learned from her mistakes
(and p.s if anymore pics leak of her they are OLD or FAKE so don’t say she hasn’t changed,cuz she did them way back when she didn’t think about the consequences)
