#1 and I guess #3 you can’t spell but I agree. I have no idea why this girl is famous, other then all the other people who have done substantial things with their careers are older now and there needs to be some famous young people for younger fans of the entertainment biz. However, Vanessa as you said really hasn’t done much of anything with her career, so I don’t get why the media gives her so much attention.. other then she’s filling the youth celeb niche, much like all those Gossip Girl people whom I can’t recall the names of. The term “flash in the pan” really does come to mind and I don’t see this girl or the other two members of the High School Musical trio(Zac and Ashley) having a lasting film career. There aren’t any good roles they’d be suitable for besides teen/young adult drama and they’re gonna grow up sooner or later. At least Zac has a more mature role coming up with the Orsen Welles film so maybe he’ll shock me and pull some longevity out of his career. He really needs to stop being a poser and carrying the skateboard at all times tho, I’ve yet to see him actually ride it :/

I was not asking if vanessa is hiding her head from the paps in these picures because her album didn’t do good. i was asking in general do you think she is unhappy her album did not do so well. i thought my “rant” as you called it was pretty well understandable but i’ll explain again. do you think it was actually her record companies fault for the failure of her album, or do you think parents wouldn’t allow their kids to get her album? vanessas target audience is about 8-13 years olds, and do you think since the whole nude photo scandal the parents of these kids would still allow their children to buy her album. i think it’s more so the nude scandal that is hurting her album sales more than her record company not promoting her enough. or maybe the record company didn’t have faith in the album because of the nude scandal and figuered it wouldn’t sell anyways and just ignored her album. either way, i think vanessas bad decision ultimately shot her in the foot.

Lauren, she took those pictures when she was about 14, they were never meant to be seen, someone backstabbed her and published them. So how is that her bad decision? And don’t say because she took them, kids do worse things than that all the time, they were private, and she has done so well to hold her head up and didn’t crumble, which a lot of us, i’m sure, would have done in her position. That’s something admirable.

Her album is amazing, and like Boji said, it has yet to be made avalible overseas, and there was not enough supply for the demand in the US either. It wasn’t panned by the critics, and although it could have done better, give it time, i’m sure sales will pick up when people hear it, and how good it actually is. V has done herself proud. Sales aren’t everything sometimes, she has said herself that she loves the album, sometimes thats all that matters. Truly great artists, don’t measure their sucess in album sales, they do what they do because they love it. And V, she has a lot going for her, she obviously loves what she does.

by the way, I’m not a vanessa hater. I was just asking a simple question about what everyone thought about her album not doing so well.

Wow, you hit the nail on the head. And if anyone has read my posts, I am highly critically of the teen/tween idol crowd, because so many are hypocrites, lie about making up their mistakes, and make unnatural declaratory statements/ promises they don’t keep. For once this was not the case.

However, what’s odd, is that I have no interest in watching the HSM series, and I have not, yet I still like Vanessa and Zac very much and it was simply by observing their every day behavior and reading some interviews, and then I looked up some stuff on them on my own.

1) I find kids now a days seem to have their own money for some reason and they usually buy whatever they want.

2) I don’t usually find any parent saying No to getting a CD for their child unless the jacket has something on it they don’t like or the contents of the songs are questionable. Yer i tottally agree this so called ‘celebrity’ really gets on my wit. She hasnt done anything but an alub woohoo.
But I do think Zac and ashley can come out of this Disney crap. Zac is making his way, as Amanda said with Orsen wells, and ashley is doing movies even though they are high school ones still hopefully she’ll break out of her shell.

Megan, if you’re going to use your criteria for success, then Ashley hasn’t done much anything much different than Vanessa. They’ve both done other movies, TV, and albums. Ashley is still on the DIsney channel and just did a DIsney movie, “Picture Perfect.” Vanessa just finished a non-Disney movie “Rock On”, so she’s moved beyond the Disney **** too, as you say. Ashley did too. So what’s different? She just “bugs” you because you like Ashley better and want her to be with Zac. Just be honest.

So, most of the people who post regularly on this thread have read my self-declared status as a hippie- but let me say it again. Where is the love? Why spread hate?

Do you all know what is going on this world? Global warming, the wars in Iraq and Afghanistan, the economic crisis in America, a very controversial presidential election in Nov. 2008, poverty and aids in Africa, genocide in Darfur, natural disasters in China… I could go on forever, they’re all enormous problems in our society. For those of us who seek happiness in the smallest places - like checking up on our favorite celebrities- we find it incredible that with all that’s going on in the world, you haters are concerned about a picture that a 16 year-old girl took of herself. I think that is one of the smallest, more manageable problems in our society. I don’t know if you’re just letting off steam and de-stressing after living another day in your crummy life, but hating on others is not going to help you at all. If you said, “I think she’s made poor choices in the past and I can’t look past her picture scandal.” don’t you think that would be a lot more acceptable than “She’s a ****”? Not to mention it’d make you sound more intelligent and you wouldn’t be name-calling. But anyways, to the person, sorry I don’t remember which, who said that they think her album didn’t do well because it’s directed at 12 year-olds whose mothers control what they listen to- and don’t want their kid listening to someone who’s taken pics of herself naked- I have to disagree. First of all, I think parents should be role models for their children. Be the person you want your child to be. Your child might love Vanessa and if so, say to them “She made a mistake, one I don’t ever want you to make, but she did apologize and she’s paid for it several times over in the past year with all the scrutiny in the media. She didn’t drive drunk, kill anyone, or take any drugs- the only person she hurt was herself- so be proud of her because she has learned to conduct herself in a better way and risen above her previous self.” But if you can’t be the person you want your kid to be-I would much rather my kid, not that I’m a mom, model themself after someone who has made mistakes and then looked at themself in the mirror and said, “Yeah, I made a mistake, I owned up to it, and now I’m going to hold my head up high and carry on with my life.” As opposed to someone who’s been handed everything in life and has never had to experience any of the uncontrollable misfortunes life occasionally doles out. It’s easy to say you’re perfect and a good role model when you’ve never been tested. I admire Vanessa because in the face of controversy, she kept her chin up and had the confidence to carry on. We’ve all done stupid things that we regret, whether you can admit it doesn’t make it any less real. I attend one of the biggest party schools in the state where I reside- YEAH, I’ve done stupid stuff, I’m not ashamed because it’s a part of life. Did I learn my lesson? Thank God! Did Vanessa? I think that’s obvious.

has anyoneever noticed that she is always the one that talks about the relationship between her and zac? He never says anything about it. She says how she wants to keep their relationship private and personal, yet she steps out of his house, where she knows there will be photogs…. Doesn’t seemtoo smart to me. first i want to say is that if he let’s her wear his clothes and she does who cares they love each other that’s all the matter’s. and second maybe they feel asleep at his house and she had her hoodie with her and he let her wear his shorts. third she is 19 turning 20 this year and he is 20 turning 21 so they are young alduts. fourth she proably really missed him when he was in new york because they went on vacation together right after that he was in town for 1 day then he left for 4 or 5 days. fifth they are the cutest couple in the usa. sixth the only people that know what goes on behind closed doors are zac and vanessa and no one needs to know besides them and maybe they did do a little somethin somethin.
